Monday Morning
1:24am
Ah, the beginning of a new week. And funnily enough, the beginning of a new Month, too. Spring seemed to be one of Matty's favorite seasons. Mostly because it marked the end of a cold, long Winter, and it was in the process to kicking off a new, fantastic Summer. And, like many, many other student, the hottest season of the year was most defiantly the Hufflepuff's favorite. Everything just seemed to come alive in Summer, in the girl's mind. There was such much more to do, when you weren't' trapped inside because of all that snow or sickness, or just general lack of enthusiasm. So really, Summer was the funnest, and favorite for Matty. She had loads of great memories of past Summer, both in and out of Hogwarts, and it was just an enjoyable time of year. There were more opportunities to spend with friends, (or boyfriends, for that matter), which made things much more worth while.
But with Spring, and hence Summer coming closer, so did OWLs. Matty was one of those students who know dedicated a good amount of their week's leisure time in the Library, Common Room, or other such places, revising and studying for their up-coming exams. She was nervous as all hell about them, too. Her past marks had been good, but the teenager was allot more anxious about this year's exams. She had been through so much since her third year. Friends, fights, boyfriends, loss, invasions and dramas, and frankly, Matty wasn't even sure if she was going to remember half the stuff she had learned in her first few years, which was honestly the building blocks of her education. But, perhaps the girl was reading into this too much. She wasn't positive if they were going to be easy, or hard. Then again, better be safe than sorry.
But really, Matty wasn't quite sure why she was up at this hour. It had only been about fifteen minutes, but the teenager was sitting up on her bed, her back as straight as a board. She hadn't had a nightmare, or anything of the such, nor had she heard or felt anything 'weird'. She was just awake, and unable to drift back into that state of sleep which she knew she desperately needed. Her green eyes had remained closed until now, when the girl pushing her covers back, swinging her legs over the side of her bed. Matty didn't bother to put on her slippers, and simply remained bare foot as she tip-toed out of the Common Room, and into the dungeons. She was only dressed in a pair of silk girl's boxers, which had pictures of Porky Pines on them, with small catch phrases like 'don't touch!' on the bright red material. She also wore a gray tee-shirt, that was obviously two or more sizes too big for her, and so the sleeves were rolled up, and one side of the shirt had now been tucked into one side of her boxer shorts. Matty made her way carefully to the rout she knew so well; to the kitchens. Once she arrived at the portrait bearing a pear, the girl tickled it, before entraining. There were allot less elf's inside that she was used to, and this startled the girl, but only every so slightly. The teenager murmured a hello to the creatures that did look up from their posts, before helping herself to a cup of hot chocolate. The girl was still at the counter, stirring the cup of hot liquid, when she heard the creak of the kitchen door open.
