The Second Years and Third Years classes had grown considerably. Parents were at last regaining faith in Hogwarts since the murder of Avery Thorne. Something that Fiona and herself had been slaving to do since the beginning of the school year. Hard work pays off in the end. But, as the class had been combined so far, there was no sense to separate them and start teaching one year new material. That would only gain her a large list of enemies.
The Grindylow lesson apparently went over smoothly. It had not been the lesson she had originally planned for that subject material (which had included a small trip to the Great Lake and up-close and personal encounters with thus mentioned creatures) but Drew had done a good job considering. That, and she would have nibbled her nails to the skin if he had taken them to the Lake. The Headline had been clear in her mind: "Grindylows Drown Entire Second and Third Year Class Under 15 Year Old Supervision."
But, now they were back under her watchful eye.
All the desks had been removed from the room. Leaving only the Professor and a black velvet tank at her feet in the room... and the portraits of course. Though they hardly counted. The lot of them had decided to pretend to be asleep this class.

News of the Deputy's return had reached her ears only by a small questioning comment made at breakfast. It was good news indeed to hear the woman was doing well enough to teach again, mind you she didn't really mind having Drew as a professor it was just that she actually respected Raynor. That meaning she didn't grumble about her or her assignments in the library like she did some of the other staff.
She poked her head cautiously into the room, as though expecting to be hit for something, or worse, already be late. But, surprisingly she was first, and first meant many a things. Like a chance to compose herself. After managing a nod to the woman and a small 'Good morning...' the tiny second year made her way to claim a spot of floor in the middle of the room. And there she patiently waited for the arrival of someone else.

Matty had been thinking that she was going to be late for her class, but thankfully enough she wasn't. It appeard to her that there was another Hufflepuff girl was in the middle of the room. Matty had not yet know who she was even though she was in her house. Aprouching the young girl, Matty walked behind her and said "Hey, im Matty i dont think we've met?" hoping that the girl wouldn't get a fright by her suddon encounter. As she adjusted her bag before looking up to the professor and smiling.

Jynx made his way up to the second floor corridor remembering only too well the events that had occurred there a couple of nights prior. Reaching the corridor he made his way over to where the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom door was. Hoping that Professor Ryder and Professor Davenport hadn't filled Professor Raynor in on his and Matty's late night shoe search. Pulling open the door he was relieved to see that there were others in the class besides himself. Not really wanting to be alone with the Deputy Headmistress if she had been informed. Seeing Matty he made his way over to where she was. Taking his bag off of his shoulder and laying it down by his feet. "Hi Matty," he said with a small chuckle and smile remembering the last time they had been in the class.

Considering she had gone down the wrong flight of stairs and then up the wrong flight because the same flight had changed directions, she wasn't late. To her surprise she seemed to be on time. With a little concealed sigh of relief she looked around for the desks, but there was none. She was not sure where to sit, if the students here had assigned seats like back home, then she would need to wait for the instructor to assign her a seat.
“Er…Hello Instr-Professor.” She said politely to the professor as she stood there awkwardly just to the side of the door. She still wasn’t used to calling the instructors that.

Abigail, clad in her uniform and robes (though her tie was a bit crooked and her shirt tails were untucked), walked down the second floor corridor and into the classroom with a dream-like smile on her lips and her eyes glazed over. She hadn't really been paying attention when she dressed herself that morning, thus the two mismatched socks and the sloppy uniform, but unfortunately no one had informed the Huffle of these discrepencies.
It probably wasn't the best class to be in such a daydream-like-state, but Abby couldn't help it. She strode into the classroom with a quiet sigh and looked around a bit dumbfounded, as if she was confused as to how she got there, before taking a seat on the floor somewhat near Lianna and leaning back against the wall. She allowed her bag to slip from her shoulder and her thoughts to return to what (or who) she had been thinking of the entire way up from the common room.

Ty running a little behind today walked swiftly up to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. He had forgotten to set his alarm and had woken up twenty minutes later than he normaly did, causing him to have a very rushed breakfast where he hardly got anything down. Something seemed to be just a little bit off today, becauses everywhere that he went he seemed to be just a little behind. Opening the classroom door he was relieved to see that the class hadn't started yet and walked over to the only person he knew there, Abigail. "Hi Abigail." he said taking a seat near her on the floor.

Kylie walked towards the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom wondering what they were going to be tackling today. Once she reached the door she slowly pulled it open looking around before going inside. She noticed off the bat that there were no chairs or desks to be had and that a few of the students were already sitting on the floor while others were still standing. Entering into the class she made her way over to the back wall and slumped down against it.
Looking curiously around at all of the people already there she noticed a few familar faces. Matty and Jynx she had already met in Herbology, but she still didn't feel like getting up from where she had already sat down. See noticed that there was a box like thing sitting on the floor in front of the professor's feet and knew that had to be what they were learning about today.

Hi Abigail. The Huffle was pulled out of her trance as her name rang in her ears. "Huh?" The girl looked around slowly as if just waking up. She blinked a few times before finally realizing someone was talking to her. Her eyes landed on the boy now sitting beside her, and her goofy smile vanished. "Oh, hey Ty," she said with her regular smile back in place and the glaze gone from her eyes. "How've you been?"

Lianna merely blinked up at the third year after tilting her head back to aknowledge the girl who'd taken the Grindylow attack. They'd spokenbefore but not enough to actually be considered even aquaintances, and, after the Grindylow thing Lianna wasn't sure if she actually wanted to be associated with the girl who seemed accident prone.
"Hi." Lianna aknowledged simply, taking a brief moment to look at who else had entered. Abi, some Gryffindor and, er...Tim? No, Ty, yes, Ty. She'd get his name to memor correctly after a bit, after all how many short names were there that began with 'T'? She blinked a moment as her eyes seemed to focus briefly on the boy, too briefly for one to really notice except herself or so she hoped.
After sending a wave toward Abigail, the Hufflepuff merely fiddled with her hands, awaiting the professor's inevitable starting of class. It was a feeble distraction yes, but one that was working, for her at least.

Misaki made her way into defense against the dark arts feeling strangly cheerful. Opening the door, of course she saw some of her fellow third years, but also some other students, whom she had never meet before. All the desks had been removed so there was no place for her to sit, unless you count the wall, and a tank close to Prof. Raynor. Whatever was in there must be what they were learning about today. Seeing where Kylie was, Misaki made her way over toward her. "Hey Kylie." she greeted slumping down on the wall.

Kylie saw the door of the classroom open and in walked Misaki. Kylie had been wondering when she was going to come. "Hi Misaki," she said as the Ravenclaw greeted her. "Been having a good day so far?" Misaki was in most of her classes and she was glad that she was because she would have at least one friend in them. Looking back over to where the box was sitting she said, "I wonder what we are going to be doing today?" See really didn't have any idea of what could possibly be in the black velvet tank.

Jynx grabbed his bag and made his way over to where the other third years were sitting. Thinking that Matty would follow after she was done with her conversation. Walking over to the wall he sat down so that his back leaned up against it. Wondering if Matty had even heard him say hello he decided that he would get her attention a different way. Rifling through his bag he found a spare piece of parchment and crumbled it up into a ball and took aim. Launching it right at Matty's head. He figured when it hit her she would look over and he would motion her to come and sit by him.

"I've been great," he said watching a Ravenclaw girl enter the classroom and wondering when this class was going to start. He was getting a tad bit bored with just the sitting and talking bit. Seeing Jynx throw the piece of paper at the Hufflepuff girl, the same evil grin came across his face that had so many times before. Ty lifted his wand just slightly giving it a flick causing the paper to swirve off course in the professors direction. Then turning his attention back to Abigail asked, "So how have your classes been so far?"

"My day has been alright so far. " Misaki answered. She was still a bit cheerful, but over what was still a mystery. Even to Misaki it was a bit strange. Looking back at the tank Kylie was talking about, it too made her wonder what could be inside. Can't be anything too dangerous. Then again, this was defense against the dark arts class. "I wonder too. Well, one things for sure...can't be a teddy bear in there."
