Tianne groaned. It was that time again, where Tianne had let her studies go and was in desperate need of the a revision. She had been paying attention in class and everything, it was just that she hadn't been doing any of her usual reading outside. Things had been more hectic in her common room, much busier than they usually were, and Tianne was left with no where to study. She could sit in the corridors, but she wanted a comfortable setting, and the blankets of snow prevented her from going outside. The library had been busier, and everything was a 'schamozzle', as her mother used to say.
So Tianne found herself lagging in her subjects, barely squeezing out an essay when it was needed. But she was going to change that, and she knew exactly how to. Having written a note to Matty Wentworth the previous day, and gotten her trusty owl to deliver it to her window, Tianne got herself ready bright and early. It was barely past six am, but Tianne was already out of her pyjamas, and into her clothes for the day. A pair of skinny jeans, tucked into red converses was all she needed for her legs, but on her torso she wore a red and blue checkered flannalette shirt, that was two sizes too big. She wore a blue denim vest over this, and the shirt was buttoned up half way, and tucked into her jeans. Underneath, Tianne wore a long sleeved white tee-shirt, basically just to keep her warm. Her hair was french braided in to two, and a knitted beanie kept her head warm.
Making her way out, Tianne wandered down to the library. She hoped that there was a study room still available, because that was where she was most comfortable. She had already made a list of books, and she was ready to spring into action. Finding her way down to the library, which, obivously because of the time, was still empty, she gathered the pile of books and found herself a study room. Shutting the door behind her, Tianne sunk into one of the chairs, waiting for her "study buddy" to join her.

4am, Merlin. When was six o'clock ever going to come around? And more importantly, why couldn't she sleep? Well, there were a number of reasons for the latter of the two previous statements. Matty had allot on her mind, lately. Trying to keep her pox under control, squeezing in Quidditch whenever she could, studying, sleeping, and eating was kinda of important too. But she was stressing a bit too, like allot of her friend and peers were. Exams would be there before they knew it, and the Fifth years needed to know their stuff before ti was too late. Cramming did not help in this case.
And so that was the previous reason that Matty and Tianne were getting up early to spend the morning, or day, studying. The girl had been lying in her bed for half the night before she finally tumbled from the covers at 5:00am. She dressed into her current favorite pair of purple high-top converses, and tucked the bottom of her gray skinny jeans into them. Matty then slipped on a singlet, and over that a black tee-shirt that had "Queens of the Stone Age" scrolled across the front. She rolled up the sleeves, and tucked in a small section of her shirt to her jeans, before grabbing a gray beanie with ear-flaps, and headed out of her Common Room, backpack over shoulder.
Instead of heading to the Second floor, the teenager made her way to the kitchens, where very few elf's were up. Considering it was about twenty to six, they were only just beginning to all muster to the kitchens, getting ready for the breakfast rush. Matty said hello to her regular favorites, before helping herself to two large breakfast muffins, and two travel mugs of hot co co. She slid the muffins into a brown paper bag, which was then stashed away in he pack, before carrying herself and the hot drinks to the Library. It was nice, seeing the golden rays of the sun slowly reaching the cold marble floors as she crossed them, everything being so silent and quiet. Once she picked out the books she needed for study, Matty found her best friend seated in one of the study rooms. Smiling with relief, the girl pushed open the door, and placed the cups on the table, before dropping her books and her backpack. "Merlin, it's bloody early." she said with a small laugh.

Flicking through the books that she had in front of her, Tianne began to think. There were thousands of things just floating through her mind, but there were a couple that just kept popping back up. When was she going to see Liam, would she ever see Seth again, and when was Matty going to turn up. Tianne was confused, worried and anxious, and it seemed that out of everything in the world, nothing could change that. She didn't want to see upset to or at Matty, but she didn't want to pretend that everything was okay. It annoyed her that she would beexpected to act like that, but luckily, this was Matty and when Matty was there, Tianne felt like she could finally vent out all of her 'crazy'.
Grinning at her best friend as she entered in the door, Tianne gave a light laugh. "Hey!" She spoked happily, doing the exact thing that she hadn't wanted to do, hide her anxiety. "How are you?! I haven't seen you in forever!." Tianne continued to laugh, closing the book that sat in front of her. "It's not that early, I'm usually up every morning by about... uh... say 6:00? It's normal, or are you just a little miss sleep in." She said, crossing her arms in a menacingly, pretending way.

Matty grinned at her friend in return, before pushing the travel mug full of hot chocolate to wards Tee. The Hufflepuff picked up her own, taking a hearty sip of it. The warm, chocolate liquid ran down her throat, soothing it with relief. She hated being sick. Simply and utterly hated it. But thankfully the teenager was on the mend, and so her symptoms were more bearable these days. After setting down her cup again, Matty bent down and seized her pack, fishing out a quill, ink jar, some parchment, and a textbook. She then produced the breakfast muffins, setting them down on the table. "I brought food." the teen said, smiling up at her mate.
"How are you?! I haven't seen you in forever!." Matty nodded at this, and she was about to reply when the Ravenclaw replied to her first comment. "It's not that early, I'm usually up every morning by about... uh... say 6:00? It's normal, or are you just a little miss sleep in." Rolling her eyes playfully, the Hufflepuff faked a yawn. "To answer your first question, I'm superb, besides the constant stream of having to cream homework late at night, and trying to squeeze in Quidditch. How 'bout you? How're you coping with everything?" she replied and asked, sighing slightly. This year had been by far hardest, and for Tianne too. With being Prefect, having equal homework to her, and Seth leaving, her best mate had been hit pretty hard, and Matty was often concerned about her.
"And to answer the latter of your question, easy, I am the queen of sleep in. You know me, I need caffeine before I even sit down for breakfast." she remarked sarcastically, before taking another sip of her drink, a devilish smile evident behind the cup though.

Tianne was happy to be with her best friend again. Since Seth and Ryan had left, she had been sort of lost, and hadn't seen Matty for what seemed like forever. As cheesy as it sounded, Tianne actually missed her, and spending time with her. They were really close, and they had only had one fight, and it was over something so trivial, that the girls have forgotten about it. It was childish, and of course, Tianne was at fault. She didn't really want to bring it up, instead, she had just learnt to live with the situation that had made her angry that one time.
To answer your first question, I'm superb, besides the constant stream of having to cream homework late at night, and trying to squeeze in Quidditch. How 'bout you? How're you coping with everything? Tianne grinned at her friend. "I'm great, the only thing that keeps getting me is patrolling! It happens at the worst times..." She smiled, curling a piece of hair around her finger. "I can't believe that I actually got on to the Quidditch side, its so fun!" Tianne laughed, obviously hyperactive, much to her dismay. She hated being like that, but Tianne's moods changed so quickly, she knew that it wouldn't last.
Grabbing the cup that Matty had pushed over to her, Tianne grinned. "Mmmm! Hot chocolate!" She grinned, pulling the cup up to her mouth, the aroma's wafting through the air. Picking up a breakfast muffin, Tianne picked a little bit off the top. "I wouldn't accept it, you know, but I know where you got this." She smiled, jokingly.

Matty laughed softly when Tianne mentioned about having to patrol. That was one of the reasons she was kind of glad she wasn't prefect. Quidditch Captain was great perks wise, she still got a bit of authority, especially when it came to her players, and she got to use the Prefects lounge. Score much? When her friend further commented on being accepted onto the Team, Matty couldn't help but grin. Really... the two girls could be so different. Tianne was so smart and quiet at times. But they did have allot in common. Good taste in friends, Matty could be smart when she put her mind to things, they both liked Quidditch, the Hufflepuff obviously, and they could both be bubbly, thought it did take a comfortable situation to get it outta Tee. Which wasn't very difficult, Matty realized.
"Ah, I'm so glad that you got onto the team. After all, if you hadn't, whenever I ranted on about tactics you wouldn't have the slightest clue what I was talking about." the teenager stated in a joking tone. Tee hadn't been that bad before she joined the team, but usually herself and Ryan were the ones to rant and rave about Quidditch, while Seth and Tianne chatted about other stuff. Merlin, this only reminded Matty how much she missed the boys. Taking another sip of her drink, the girl then pulled out her own muffin, breaking off a bit from the side and popping it into her mouth. Once it was devoured, the girl nodded to her friend. "Well, that and you wouldn't dare decline my food. I may hex you for it." Matty stated with a joking stare.
"So, how long do you think we have until a whole swarm of Seventh Years come to study as well?" the Hufflepuff asked curiously, taking another bite of her muffin. Ah, food. Good stuff.

Tianne didn't really think of patrolling as that much of a bad thing, as a chore, but sometimes it just downright annoyed her. Tianne never really hated, as hate was much too strong a word to use, she just got sick of it. She loved the way that the first years followed her around, she loved the fact that she got commended for doing so, the only things she disliked was the early starts and late finishes, but that wasn't all the time anyways. On her duties, she had been recommended to go and see the trophy room, so she did, and now she has a new friend because of it.
"You know I would have listened to you anyways.." Tianne spoke with a laugh, tilting her head on the side in a cute sort of way. "Besides, you helped me a lot. I mean, I think I have all the rules downpat now!" She smiled, knowing that there was a lot of stuff that she didn't know about the sport. She knew the names of the balls, players, and that it was called a pitch not a field. Basically Tianne knew all the basic things, but none of the incredibly detailed things. "You know if you hex'd me, I'd go all ninja and curse you back, right?" She smiled, taking a bite out of her muffin. "I reckon we have a while. They don't touch the surface until like, noon." Tianne grinned jokingly.

"You know I would have listened to you anyways.." Matty joined in with a small laugh in conjunction with a nod. "Besides, you helped me a lot. I mean, I think I have all the rules downpat now!" The girl couldn't help but feel proud of her best friend. When Matty had first met Tianne, she had hardly known the basics of Quidditch, and now she was on her house team. The teen wasn't taking credit for it, but she was proud of her mate, who had taken the the challenge. As the Ravenclaw replied to her comment about hexing her, Matty laughed again. Her conversations with Tee were always somewhat amusing, for they liked to keep things bubbly and bright with each other, when not in serious conditions. "Right. And so I'd just, I dunno, go all robotic and hex you back." she remarked, setting aside her muffin and doing some 'robot' dance moves. Extremely lame, but it would get a laugh.
As the eagle answered her question about the seniors, Matty shook her head slightly, sinking back into her seat and grabbing her muffin. "That could have be me." she said, faking a small sniffle. Letting her act sink in, the teen then took another bite from her food, followed by a sip of hot chocolate. The food and drink were helping to continue to wake up the drowsy Hufflepuff. Putting down her food again, Matty heaved her bag onto the table, before pulling out the various books and scrolls she needed, dumping them in a pile in front of her. The girl stared the pile for a moment, before sighing slightly. Her fifth year. What a bugger load of work it had, and was going to be.

Tianne didn't know if Matty thought she was lying about the listening, but it didn't really matter. Tianne knew that she would pay attention to Matty, no matter what she was blabbing about. Matty just had a way of making even the most boring of conversations humorous, maybe it was the witty comments, maybe it was the absolutely hilarious anecdotes that she had, Tianne didn't know, all she knew was that she was fun to be around. Tianne missed hanging out with Matty, as she always seemed to have other things to do, but when they did do something, Tianne always came out of it happy. Grinning at the girls dance, giving the impression of a robot, Tianne giggled. "You are a ... fantastic dancer, Matty." She said, still lightly giggling.
Still grinning as the hufflepuff laid out her next joke, Tianne followed suit. Sinking down into the plush suede of the chairs, Tianne sighed, before chuckling. "Naww! Poor wittle Matter-Watter-Batter. Does she want to go to sleep? Wanna go for sleep! Yes you do! Yes you do!" She smiled, talking like she did to her pets. Watching the girl heave and pull, Tianne stretched her arms out in front of her. She didn't really feel like studying, but knowing that she had to worked well as a motivation ploy. "Okay, Matts. Where do we start? Potions..." She said, pulling out her collapsible cauldron and placing it on the table. "Or Charms?"

Despite the fact that the boys had moved away, Matty still found that her and Tianne could have allot of fun. Frankly, they hadn't talked about the whole event after the day the Hufflepuff found her friend in the forest, though deep down, she really wanted to talk about it. This morning, even, if Tee felt up to it. Letting go of two of her best friends wasn't easy, but especially for her friend, considering Seth had been the Ravenclaws first real boyfriend. The Badger knew that the Slythern had loved Tianne, too, and it had killed her to see him go, also due to the fact that he couldn't even say goodbye to her friend. Ryan too, really. He was like a brother to them both.
The girl's thoughts were expired when her fellow fifth year commented on her own dancing. She grinned stupidly, before sighing with an air of confidence. "I know, I know. No need to flatter me." she said, waving a hand in the direction of her friend. Matty was by no means a vain person, but she did have fun acting like it sometimes. After her comment about wanting to sleep, the teen pouted slightly, sinking into her chair even more. "Yes, yes she does. Though teeny-tiny-Tianne convinced Matty-Watty to study for the exams she desperately needs to do so." the girl confessed in a playful matter. When it came down to it, the Huffle didn't mind studying so early. She would just rather be sleeping, but there were more important things at the moment.
"Okay, Matts. Where do we start? Potions... Or Chams?" It took a moment for her to reply. Em had called her 'Matts' only a few weeks prior when they met up, and so it made the teenager smile normally for a brief moment. She managed to sweep such thoughts from her mind, though, as it may have seemed suspicious. "Defiantly potions, I think I'm going to get a 'T' on it if I can't grasp this current material." she admitted, pulling her chair closer to the table, and fishing out her own Cauldron, before setting it up. "So... whats first on the revision list?" she asked absently, pulling open her book and running her finger, and sliding her eyes down the page.

The fact that the boys had left hadn't sunk in yet, and Tianne really wasn't up for talking about it. She didn't want to forget, but she didn't want to be reminded of Seth, of everything that had left the school when the two had gone. She wasn't bitter, nor remorseful, she was just confused. Why had he not told her, why hadn't they let her know? It confused Tianne, and made her want to know reasons, but she couldn't write, they were in Australia. It annoyed her slightly, that Seth hadn't even given her the chance to reply, but that was the way that life had to go sometimes. If Matty wanted to talk about it, then Tee would follow suit, but she wasn't up for starting the conversation.
Smiling at the girls joke, Tianne heaved a pile of books off the table. Bringing her portable cauldron into view, she grinned, knowing that for their test they would have to brew something. She loved making potions, especially when, well, especially when she was with her best friend. "How 'bout we brew this, the Draught of Peace. I've got moonstone, do you have hellebore?" Tianne asked, knowing that Matty liked Potions and would probably have it. "I think we get tested on this one... just a hunch." Tianne whispered, winking at her companion.

Matty nodded in reply to Tianne suggesting that they brew the Draught of Peace. She was relieved to find that her friend had moonstone, as that was the only ingredient in the potion that the Hufflepuff hadn't acquired. "I'm pretty sure... Hmmm... Yeah, here it is." the girl mumbled to herself, pulling out a brown material from her bag. Inside was a thick folder, in which had all of her different ingredients and places to slip them in. The girl flipped through a couple of pages, before pulling out two portions of Hellebore. "Here we go. So, what do we hafta do first?" she asked Tee, curious on how much of an idea he friend had on this particular potion.
Matty wondered what else was going through Tianne's mind. She knew that homework and quidditch were playing much the same on both their brains, but she was still so curious as to how she was dealing with Seth. The girl wasn't sure if they had kept contact, though she doubted it. Ryan had made Matty promise him that she would try not to write, for that even though the whoel oreadl was hard, hearing from the girls would be even harder. But... she justed wanted to know how they were. What they were doing. Did they miss them, just as much as Matty and Tianne missed the boys?

Tianne knew that Matty would have forgotten something, it was perfectly inhuman to remember everything, and Tianne was just glad that the one thing that she had was the one thing that Matty didn't have. Matty always saved the day, with her constantly quick thoughts, and her caring self, Tianne was just glad that she could have her one chance. Pulling out her small bag that contained the only ingrediant that she had been bothered to bring, Tianne grinned. "Ah, ze piece de resistance!" She grinned in a fake french accent.
Shaking her head as Matty asked her what to do next, Tianne had no idea. She was sure that one of the books that she had would contain the Draught of Peace. They had a lot of books, and one or two were bound to have information. "I have no idea, we should look it up."
