There was never and ending to a book, for with every closed chapter, Vanessa could think of one more that could have happened right after it. She hated when a book came to an end, because there was so much more that could be said, so many questions she wanted answering, and above all else... Vanessa hated to forget. It's why most of the books in her own collection at her house, she'd read over and over again. Here in Hogwarts, however, she was working her way from the back of the library up to the front when it came to the books she was taking out constantly and reading.
Between her reading, knitting, and school work, Vanessa was finding it hard to get out of her common room and meet people, and yet, she was content all the same. She really didn't need to meet anyone new, however, a good suggestion on book titles would have been helpful at that moment. Carrying five very large books in her arms, she wasn't about to take them all out, but she wanted to read a little of each one at a table before deciding on which she would have liked to have. Unfortunately, as one foot flopped in front of the other, she found herself falling in no time, throwing all five large books with a very loud crash right onto the floor.
Luckily, or so she thought, no one could have heard her. She was in the very back after all... who would have been around?

School life was always oh, so normal for Matty Wentworth. Or so many would have assumed. She was your typical average teenager, on the outside. She got her homework done by the deadlines, she liked to hang out with her friends, she was Quidditch Captain. Easy enough, eh? Wrong. There were so many gears and tabs that worked together, which was just what made Matty tick. At times, she could be plain and normal, but Merlin, get her on her odd days, and there was allot more depth to the water than one could see. Little knew that she was still trying to swallow the fact that two of her best friends, Seth and Ryan, had left school. A handful of people were aware that she had lived the majority of her years without a mum. And no one, but the boy and herself, knew that Matty was dating someone. So, yeah, she may have looked like any normal teenager, but more often than not, the girl struggled to keep her head screwed on straight.
Which was why the girl loved to read. Again, this wasn't really a common fact that people were aware of. Matty was he Quidditch Captain, right? So that must she was a health food junkie and a sports freak, right? Wrong, again. Though she did think personal health was very important, the Hufflpuff had long ago admitted to herself that she was one of those people who loved to read, and get lost in a story. When you let yourself get absorbed in a book, you didn't have to worry about your real life, or the issues and matters that affected you. Or so Matty thought, anyway. And so, this was the precise reason the youth was situated in a far corner of the back of the library, her back leaning up against the wall.
She was reading a book called 'Plain Truth' by Jodi Picoult. It was a great story about a murder and a love affair on an Amish Farm. Quite complex and interesting, as far as Matty was concerned. She couldn't help but relate her current relationship to the one in the book, as the two characters that were involved had to hide their love from the world, and act as if no chemistry whatsoever existed between them. Turning the page, the teenager heard the faint tap of footsteps, but didn't think much of them. Odds are it was a curious reader, or a Seventh year studying for NEWTS, they were very common around here. Looking up, however, Matty's green eyes were graced with the sight of a familiar girl toppling over, spilling her books.
The teen stood up abruptly, shoving in her bookmark, and scurrying over to where her fellow Hufflepuff was. Matty had met Vanessa a couple of times before, so she didn't feel awkward or anything when offering her a hand up. "You 'right?" Matty asked with a friendly smile, her hand now extended to wards the older girl.

Brittany had been hidden between the aisles of books throughtout the library. She had been hidden behind a book just ten minutes until a seventh year had come up to her desk begging for help. Yielding to the desperate girl's pleas she agreed to help her find a book that she just could not seem to find but apparently needed for her NEWT studies. Smiling curteously at the girl just a few years younger than her, she had gotten up and started perusing the aisles in search for the book.
As she found the aisle the book belonged on, she had just begun to pull the book out from it's place on the shelf when she heard a few rather loud banging noises just a couple aisles down. Head snapping in the direction of the clatter, she pranced to the end of the aisle in order to look down the center of the rows. The source of the sound had apparently came from a young girl trying to carry way too many large books at one time. The sudden appearence of another girl at her side was what had surprised Brittany.
Taking long strides down the row, she reached the two just in time to see the one standing offering the girl on the ground a hand up. Bending down, she gathered the five books off of the ground quickly as if they were precious gems.
"Quite a collection you've got here," Brittany commented, "Searching for something imparticular?"

Vanessa hurriedly tried to pick up the books on birds and animangus transformations and wizards and witches that had the ability, not realizing at first her other housemate coming towards her. Actually, as Matty began to speak, Vanessa jumped just slightly trying not to be embarrassed about her book choices, and at the same time trying to cover them all up. "Yes, thank you," Vanessa said right as the librarian came out of nowhere and snatched up the books right from under her. Vanessa could have died.
"I'm fine and no, I'm good..." she wasn't about to speak to an adult about some silly fantasies she had been having recently, and so she stuck out her hands for the books to be returned. "Sorry, may I have the books back....?" Vanessa glanced sheepishly at Matty and then back at the Librarian hoping she wasn't in any trouble, or anyone wouldn't become too nosey...
She didn't know why she had the books, she just wanted to learn more.
