If he had told her his feelings on their friendship, she would've been highly saddened. Their friendship meant a lot to her, whether they spent as much time together or not, she didn't feel any different about him or it. And in her opinion, it hadn't changed, other than the frequency of seeing each other. Rather, she felt everything was the same, at least when they were together. It was like a time capsule was frozen in time, and only when they were together did it continue.
The look on her friend's face wasn't unexpected, but the touch of his hand was. Not because it was unwanted, nor because it wasn't normal or right, but because it was surprising and nice at the same time. Not moving her hand from beneath his, she lifted her light brown eyes up to meet with his blue gaze.
"I'm not really sure," she answered with a shrug. "I just felt like things weren't right. I felt like I lost his friendship. I mean, I know we were friends, but I didn't feel like we were as close as we had been, before. I missed it..." she trailed off. "And so, I told him that I missed his friendship, and that I didn't want to see him like that now." Not until she was sure that was what was missing, and definitely not until they had it back.

The Raven studied the younger girl with sad eyes, just listening to her as she spoke. He realized what he had done with his hand but if it hadn't bothered her, it wasn't going to bother him. As she continued, Lucas' hand gripped Felicity's lightly, just as a gesture of sympathy, hoping she wouldn't pull away. He felt bad for her, knowing that she'd really liked Drew and also knowing how frustrating it was when something like that came up.
"I'm sorry I don't have any pearls of wisdom for you, Felicity," Lucas told the girl with a playful grin, hoping that would make her smile too, "But I think you'll be able to find it again. Just believe you will, and it'll come to you."

No, she wasn't about to pull away. Comfort was about what she needed right then, ans she knew she wouldn't get it from her father as soon as she wrote to him about it. What she would get was almost an "I told you so" but what made it all worse was she was the one who'd done the breaking. But was her heart supposed to break so badly even though she was the breaker and not the break-ee? Felicity didn't know, what she did know was her dad said Drew would break her heart, but he hadn't. If anything, he was keeping it together.
The problem was, they had so many problems she felt like it would take an eternity to get passed all of them to get back to their friendship. Though, she wanted it back, because she was more than sure she wanted to be with him. But if that was the case, then why did she feel they had to take a break to get over what was going on? She didn't know.
Nodding at Lucas, she thought a moment, and turned her hand slightly in order to gently squeeze his back. "It's all right," she told him with a small smile, she hadn't been looking for advice, not really. Just comfort. "And thanks."
Pausing a moment, looking past the Ravenclaw, Felicity sighed slightly. "So, how've you been?" It seemed like ages since they'd last spoke, maybe he'd have better news than she did.

Lucas could only shrug in response to Felicity's question about how he had been. There hadn't really been anything going on with him as of late. His mom was alright, his best friend had recently discovered owl mail and her letters contained the sheer excitement she got out of tying a letter to an animal's leg and watching it fly away. Other than that, Lucas' life had been rather boring. Same as always. "I've been alright, I suppose," Lucas answered truthfully. Finally, he pulled his hand back from the younger Gryffindor's and propped up his elbow. Lucas rested his chin in the same hand, looking at her.
With a grin, Lucas hoped his story about his friend might cheer Felicity up a little. "Been getting a lot of letters from my best friend lately," he told her, chuckling softly, "She's only just discovered she can send me an owl."

With his shrug, Felicity looked down at the table, waiting to see if he expanded on it. They hadn't talked much sense that day they spent together in Diagon, and she was no longer the owner to the locket he'd given her. Shaw had taken it and done what he had with it, but it no longer sat around her neck. Drew's necklace didn't sit there either, not today. Before she hadn't taken it off since he'd given it to her for Valentine's Day, but she wasn't always too sure about wearing it now that they weren't dating.
Lifting her eyes back up, she let them follow the path his hand took away from her. It didn't bother her that he'd taken it away, but it did provide her something to do, follow the path of it, coming to a rest under his chin.
"Only just?" she questioned. Did that mean she was muggle? That was really keen if she was. "I mean, I discovered it when mum admitted to dad what she was. That was around five or so, as soon as she told him she started sending lots of letters by owl. But, it really is an odd form of communication, mail carrying by owls. Definitely different from muggle post, or even carrier pidgeons."

"I told her about it ages ago, but she didn't believe me," Lucas explained, "I sent her one a while back and I can only imagine how much she freaked out when she saw it. I doubt her letters have done her justice." Lucas shook his head and rolled his eyes with a light chuckle. The Raven looked over at the Gryffindor, sensing she wasn't really okay. His eyes turned sad again and just watching her was so heartbreaking.
His eyes wandered, wondering if he should try and lock onto hers. As he looked, he noticed something missing around her neck, but said nothing of it. Lucas stared for a moment too, until he realized what that would look like and his eyes averted quickly. Instead, Lucas looked up at her, trying to think of something, anything he could say to make this a little better for the girl. He cared about her and wanted her to be okay. "Is there anything I can do to help? he asked her quietly, "Anything at all?"

Felicity could understand why the girl wouldn't believe him. It really was an odd why of communication, sending owls to deliver letters, all over the world. What would she think if she thought about the number of owls flying around the world at all hours of the day, delivering packages with wizarding delights wrapped inside? The idea of it all was truly amazing. But a small giggle left when he said his friend was likely more estatic in life than in her letters, contained excitement? Perhaps. And then she wondered if Lucas sent his friend any of the special letters one could send, such as howlers? Of course, she hoped he wouldn't ever have to send one of those, but they were pretty neat.
"Be my friend?" she asked tentatively. That was all she wanted from Drew, for him to be her friend. For some reason, having him as her friend was more important than anything else, it was even more important than being able to curl up next to him and have his arms around her.

"Of course, Felicity," Lucas answered the girl, his hand unconsciously finding hers again, "Of course I'll be your friend. I'll do whatever you need me to." He flashed her a smile, and nodded his head. Lucas just wanted his friend to be alright and if a friend was what she needed, a friend he was going to be. "Is there anything else?" Lucas questioned, "I can listen if you need to just...vent or anything." [sorry I didn't answer this sooner ]

Smiling slightly, Felicity turned her hand about in his to gently squeeze. All she needed from him was to be her friend, that was it. The brown-eyed girl was pretty happy where she was, other than her broken heart for doing what she felt was the right thing to do. And if it felt like the right thing when she did it, why then did it feel so wrong now, but at the same time, right? She liked Drew, a lot, but she hated arguing with him, and they did that so much that she didn't feel right being called his girlfriend, or him her boyfriend, when that was all they seemed to accomplish in a day of spending time together. No that wasn't entirely true, but they argued too much in her opinion.
Shaking her head in response, there wasn't anything to go on about. Crying was supposed to be when she was alone and no one would hear her, because she didn't want anyone to hear her. It was just Drew, and while she knew that wasn't right, didn't sound right, didn't feel right, it was what her dad would say to her. It was just a boy. There really wasn't anything to be upset about, she was too young anyway to worry about boys (especially worry about dating them), at least that was what her dad had tried to convince of her before coming back after break. Of course, it didn't work and she still wanted to be with Drew. Then again, she still just wanted to be with him, even if she didn't think it was right, possible, or what he probably wanted.
