Ty had grown bored of studying for his exams and to be honest he thought he would be alright without any studying at all. The only reason he even reviews his notes at all was because Jynx kept pestering him about it. Finally, thinking that it couldn't hurt he decided to pull them out late one night so that he could just make sure that he hadn’t forgotten anything or that he hadn’t missed anything critical when he had not been paying attention when something important was said in a class. So he took to the task of hitting the main points in his notes and asking Jynx if there was anything that he missed or that he didn’t know that Jynx thought was likely to come up on the test. Since Jynx had taken a similar test the year before and had done pretty well on it so he would be a good person to ask.
Becoming fed up with the current round of studying he made his way to the second floor corridor and found him a nice place to sit adjacent to a vase that he could use as a target for his amusement. He found it highly entertaining to see if he could hit it, with a bouncy ball, just right to make it shatter into a zillion pieces and then repair it so he could start his attempt all over again.
Settling into a corner of the corridor by the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom he took aim and launched his lime green bouncy ball at the top rim of the vase hoping to knock it just enough to make it fall off of its pedestal and onto the ground. He knew from previous experience that he could throw it as hard as he could and hit it just right in the center to cause it to break, but wanted something a bit more challenging at the moment. Unfortunately for him he had missed the rim of the vase and the bouncy ball smacked into the wall and flew off in a weird direction. Pointing his wand in its direction he muttered 'Accio' and the ball came flying back to him.

Jynx having just gotten done helping drill Ty ran to his common room for a moment to ditch his school supplies before making his way back up to the second floor corridor. He was suppose to meet Ty because they were going to go and explore about the castle to see if they could find anything interesting to do since neither of them felt like turning in at the moment. Finally coming to the second floor corridor’s set of stairs he saw something lime green come flying at his face and then quickly change directions and go back up the stairs. Having a sneaky suspicion as to whom the bouncy ball might belong to he walked up the steps hurriedly to find Ty once again launching the ball at the vase.
Didn’t this kid ever think before he did anything or at least have the common sense not to start breaking things outside of the Deputy headmistresses classroom and office. At least it was late at night and he doubted that the Deputy or any of the teachers for that matter would be hanging out in their offices or classrooms at this hour. “I leave you alone for like ten minutes and this is what you find to do?” he questioned Ty wondering if there hadn’t been something more productive that he could have been doing. But then again it was like a quarter to ten and he doubted very much that Ty could have found something a bit more productive to do unless it involved sleeping and he knew Ty to well to know that that wasn’t really an option at the moment.

Ty had caught the ball and chucked it another time before he even saw Jynx come around the corner. This time his aim was true but his power was off. The vase gave a feeble wobble and returned to its normal position that it had been in previously. Ty watched with a slight shake of his head and a mumbled swear word before getting ready to release the ball again. It was at this time that he heard Jynx and turned to see the Huffle heading in his direction. “Yep.” Ty said with a smirk, “Care to join me or do you have something else more entertaining in mind at the moment?”

Jynx just smiled as he heard Ty swear. It was just like the little snake to act out if something didn’t go completely his way. So it was no surprise to hear his exclamation at having not knocked the vase clean off its stand and shattered it into pieces. Honestly, Jynx didn’t really think that any amount of force that Ty could muster would knock the vase off. Ty was just a little dude and the vase was a pretty good size so his odds were on the vase, not Ty.
“Nope. I can’t think of anything that could possibly be more entertaining than knocking a vase off of its stand and causing a entire castle to wake up.” He said sarcastically. Thinking that they would have every teacher in the building on them if the vase was to actually shatter. It was a good thing then that it was Ty throwing the bouncy ball at it and not him.

Ty caught and intentionally ignored the trace of sarcasm that was in Jynx’s voice. He would turn his words back on him and then see how well Jynx’s aim really was in relation to his own. After all Jynx was a beater and should have pretty good aim. That or he just got lucky most of the time and his bludgers collided on accident into their victims. “Ok then, you give it a go. Since you can’t think of anything more entertaining at the moment, I’ll bet you can’t knock the vase off of its perch before I can.” Ty said tossing Jynx an orange bouncy ball that he had in his pocket just in case he had lost his green one or it was confiscated.

“I was...ah never mind.” Jynx said planning on informing the little snake that he was being sarcastic and that he really didn’t want to join in the breaking contest, but cutting off at the end when Ty challenged him. Call him competitive or arrogant or what you will but he wasn’t going to turn down a challenge and certainly not one from Ty. He was pretty certain that he could kick the snakes butt easily but who really knew. It would probably turn into who hit the vase just right. “Your on.” he said catching the orange bouncy ball and taking aim at the vase.

Ty smiled to himself, Jynx had replied in exactly the way that he had hoped. After all it was one thing to hit the vase off of its stand, but it would be even more fun to hit it off before someone else did. “Ok me first,” Ty said with a grin over in Jynx’s direction tossing the ball lightly up into the air and catching it back in his hand.
Looking back over in the vases direction he took aim and chucked the ball once again in it’s direction. Catching the vase right at the bottom he swore under neath his breath as he saw that his attempt had failed. The only movement he saw was the vase give another weak shutter but that was all it did. Obviously he hadn’t hit it in the right place, but he was sure he would get in next time.

Jynx stepped aside allowing Ty to have the first chance at it. After all it was his idea. He couldn’t help but laughing to himself as the bouncy ball glanced off the bottom of it and shot right back at Ty. He was doing everything he could to try and stifle his laughter so that he didn’t laugh out loud at the little dude, but the second string of curse words muttered were to much. Jynx just burst out in laughter. “Ok...Ok... You got your shot now step aside and watch a master.” he said through a fit of laughter.
Finally, containing his laughter he squared up to the vase and launched the rubber ball. It hit an inch from the top and instead of knocking it over took a large chuck out of the rim. The ceramic piece went flying into one of the side walls and came crashing to a halt, in a million pieces, on the floor. With a quick flick of his wand the vase was repaired and good as new for Ty to make his next attempt.

Stepping aside Ty smiled as Jynx only managed to make a chunk of the vase fly off. “Nice try mate, but now it’s my turn.” Ty said with a broad smile in place as he retook his position so that he was lined up to the vase. He was confident that he would manage to send the vase to the floor before Jynx could and it showed in his facial expression. Taking aim once again he chucked the lime green ball at the vase and within seconds the vase wobbled dangerously causing Ty’s expression to widen even further. But what a cruel trick it was because within moments the vase had returned to its position. Slightly disappointed Ty regained possession of his ball and stepped aside allowing Jynx to have another shot at it.

Having retrieved his bouncy ball Jynx squared back up to the vase for a second attempt at it. Hopefully this time his aim would be on target and he would bring the vase crashing to the floor and off of its base. Chucking the ball with all of his might he saw that on the release it released a little early and ended up glancing off of a piece of protruding brick above the vase sending the ball in the opposite direction and right into one of the windows shattering it. “Shi...” Jynx said laughing and walking over to the window. “Where did my ball go?” he asked not even really that concerned with the broken window. Reaching the window he looked out of it and tried to see if he could see where it had come to a rest at.
