Shuffling the crowd into the deputies office, Ryder shut the door behind him none too gently. It was clear the man wasn't happy. The students had got on his last nerve. He was tired and irritated and still had a full day to go through. Heck, he hadn't even had breakfast yet.
"You can all sit," he demanded, not bothering to see if there were enough chairs. This could be interesting. Ryder would bet Professor Raynor wouldn't be wanting to deal with so much before breakfast.

"She might be with the baby," Drew pointed out as he took his regular chair before realizing it might suit him better to keep his mouth shut. He gave a deep sigh and looked around. It had been a while since he had been here involuntarily... at the very least four months.

Still as quiet as she had been for the past several minutes, Arianna dropped into a chair next to Drew. She didn't understand why she got so worked up over the whole swamp/Reina thing, but it was clear she was still mad. To make matters worse, she was hungry, too, and her stomach was letting out loud rumbles to announce it.

Allegra followed Professor Hailey into the room, the Slytherin Prefect badge Reina had thrown at her feet still in her pocket. She didn't even glance at the girl she had thought of as her friend up until an hour ago. Like her brother, she looked around the room, musing about the last time she had been there for disciplinary reasons.
Of course, it had been a bit longer than in Drew's case.

Krissy had follwed close to Pat, she was worried about Ari, Ari was her best friend after all. They were behind all the ravenclaws. She could tell that professor Hailey was not very impressed, but Krissy wasn't exactly if she wanted to sit down.. Professor Raynor had enough on her plate, without having to clean off her chairs because Krissy had sat in them, she was after all still covered in muck and had a blanket wrapped around her shoulders because she hadn't put her top back on. She wondered to herself wether she should... But she really didn't want her shirt to smell bad too, It was bad enough her skirt and everything was gunna.
Krissy looked over to Ari frowning slightly and then back to Pat. She really just wanted to see if her friend was ok, which Krissy was pretty much sure she wasn't. Her gaze returned to the room taking in its surroundins, last time she had been there she had been with Ari too, it had been after the ball when they had drunk that love potion.

Pat entered just after Krissy, still holding her shirt and robes in one arm. He chose to stand, rather than sit down; he was feeling a bit too restless to be able to do so. He also glanced around the office, but only so he could get his bearings straight; he never remembered being here before. He'd heard Drew's comment that Raynor might be with the baby. If she was, he didn't know how long they could be here, or how angry Raynor might be when she showed up.
Pat threw another worried glance as Krissy. He hadn't forgotten about that patch on her side, and he was still worried about it, but this wasn't the proper time or place to ask about how she'd hurt herself. For know, their chief concern was whatever Raynor had in store.

Reina followed behing the last person and didn't take a seat though there wasn't any left. She leaned against the wall with her eyes closed knowing that she was about to be attacked by all four students and the stupid staff member. She had covered all her tracks and she still was in trouble and what's worst she didn't even have her precious badge anymore. Reina hated this school and all who resided in it. The staff was stupid, couldn't handle anything without it escalating over something stupid, the students were all in a click and if anyone ventured out they all wanted to make a big friggin deal out of nothing! The whole situation had been overblown and was quite unneccessary and retarded.

It was still early. Too early. Especially to be dragging herself to her office. Not that she had got much sleep anyhow. Nor had Banks for that matter. However, little Leah no doubt slept like a charm when she had not been terrorizing her parents. The new mother and father took turns with Leah in the morning, switching off every other day so the other could get an hour or half an hour of sleep. Today was one of Tamis' days.
The baby girl had been fed, changed, and pampered and was now quite contently cradled in her mother's arms. Raynor's plan was to get her cozy enough to settle down in the small cradle set up in her office. That way, she could spend the rest of the time before breakfast looking at the administrative obligates on her desk. Tamis Raynor might have taken leave from teaching classes, but the other responsibilities had not ceased to stop.
However, all hopes of the latter at least exploded when she opened the door to her office. As small as it was, she doubted she would fit. Six, count them, six students and Ryder. Her gaze took in Drew, Arianna, Krissy, and Reina among their number and inwardly groaned. All of them in here at once? Her grumbling stomach and papers would have to wait it seemed.
Looking over the sea of heads, her gaze rested on Ryder. It was clear that she was not happy about dealing with something of this magnitude on less than three hours of sleep, if that. But then again, he looked fairly flustered himself.
"Do I want to know?" She asked him, letting her eyes play from one face to the next. It was almost as if she was looking for signs of weakness. Seeing which one would break first.

"Probably not," Ryder admitted, shaking his head. The frown on his face looked like it might be perminant after today. Ah, well, he better get his part of the story over with before allowing the students to go ahead with theirs.
"I ran into Miss Shriver and Miss Thornton on my way down to breakfast. They said they had found Miss Diable, who apparently 'happened' upon a swamp in the middle of the first floor corridor," he started out, his gaze now wandering to the Slytherin in question, "and was offering passage across.
"Not without payment, of course," he continued, eyes narrowing slightly. "The young woman thought she would make a profit for helping her fellow students but instead of asking for money, she was asking them to take off an article of clothing. She swears she has nothing to do with the swamp itself, but Thorton and Shriver seem to think otherwise."
Ryder now gestured to the two Ravenclaw girls, both looking particularly murderous. The man could keep going, but thought it might be the students' turn now.

Reina groaned as the man tried to make her seem like the villian.
"Prof. Raynor I was asking for money. 2 galleons or anything else THEY wanted to do. They wanted to take off their clothes. I didn't care if they did, heck I would prefer the money, but it seems everyone is broke. And Prof. please ask Allegra and Ari why they think it was me? Because they don't like me. Ask them if they saw me do it? Heard me make plans about a swamp? Have any iota of anything to suggest it was me? They don't! I didn't do the stupid swamp and my only crime was letting Allegra and Drew take off one measley article of clothing to get across. In hindsight I see that wasn't a good thing to do, but to not just give me detention and take it to you seems a little extreme don't you think, Prof."

Drew kept quiet, kind of surprised Reina didn't do the same. If you talk too much, people start thinking you're getting defensive. If you talk to much, you start spilling things you shouldn't. If you talk to much, you get in bigger trouble.
No, it was much better to speak when spoken to, give only the information that was asked for, and above all else, stay calm.

{I hope you meant Krissy and Drew.....}
Arianna turned her eyes onto Reina once again, her anger bubbling up once more. Drew and Krissy had WANTED to strip for her? What kind of story was that? Arianna felt it bad enough that they were willing to go along with the Slytherin, but Reina made it sound as though they had suggested it. This story did not settle well with her. Not at all.

For quite a few minutes, Raynor just stood there. Silence. It was not a good thing, not a good thing at all. She stood there, working to control the urge to hang all of them by their big toes. Everyone besides the Librarian, Arianna, and Allegra that is. As those three at least seemed innocent. The Deputy walked behind her desk to the other side of it, where a cradle had been stationed. It was a good distraction for the moment.
Once Leah was secured, she turned back to the group.
"Miss Diablo, you have just admitted to asking for money from students to cross something that you claim you didn't make?" Raynor asked. Not shouted. Would have if she had not been subconscious of the just-falling-asleep babe. "I think that alone leaves room for detention or more," she snapped.
Deep breaths. She would not loose it completely. Leah must not wake up... Her gaze settled on Krissy and Drew for an uncomfortable moment, but continued on to the only unmentioned occupant in the room. She would get back to those two in a moment, but the other Hufflepuff....
"And just how do you fit into all of this, Nollet?"

Pat had simply watched on as Hailey, Reina, and Raynor said their bits, listening to what they said. His attention drifted slightly as Raynor placed the infant she'd held in her arms into the cradle. His eyes stayed on the newborn until he heard Raynor talk directly to him, which made his attention snap back to her.
He shifted slightly in his feet, thinking for a second; just how did he fit into this? He was a little worried. He'd had detention before, but not from Raynor, and he'd rather it stayed that way. "Well," he started off, keeping his voice steady, "ya see, me and Krissy were headin' down for lunch when we came across that swamp. We were wonderin' how to get across when Reina came by in that boat, sayin' she'd take us across if we payed her somehow. Some more people came by 'til eventually..." He held up the arm carrying Krissy's robes and shirt slightly.
Pat stopped at this point. He hoped he wouldn't get punished, nor Krissy. Nor did he believe the Ravens should get detention. He honestly thought Reina had caused the whole medd with the swamp, but he hoped that Raynor wouldn't be too harsh with her.

Count to ten. Take deep breaths and count to ten. That was what all those anger management instructors told you to do, was it not? Well, they needed some new methods. It did not work. It seems like it was all true, most of it, anyhow. Reina was admitting to actually asking for payment to cross the 'swamp', and Patrick had just very much confirmed that the clothing part was extremely true. Arianna and Allegra were apparently innocent, and Drew, well, his silence answered for him. A very wise move considering she was about to explode.
Perhaps she she stick a hazard sign on her with a notice of 'caution. Highly explosive.' It was still doubtful that these problems would not occur, but it would at least give everyone fair warning.
"I see," she responded to him as mildly as she could manage. "I think I've heard enough. Mr. Hailey, I will leave any point deductions up to you, but ten points to each Miss Shriver and Miss Thornton for at least notifying a Staff Member."
If she were to take points right now, there wouldn't be any house points left in any of the three currently represented. However...
"Is the swamp still there?" She asked.
