Physical Description:
Brittany has the type of beauty that develops as she ages. The heart shaped face and high cheekbones frame her big smile that she normally has cast upon her face. She has large, ovular brown eyes and doesn’t like to wear make-up much, believing its way too time consuming. Her dark brown hair is usually long and cut to angle her face. Depending on her mood is how she styles it for the day, but it is most often very straight or with loose waves.
Standing at a height of 5’5”, Brittany has dark tan, olive skin year round due to her Italian and Native American heritage. Her shoulders are bony and run to thin, weak arms. An elegant long neck gives her a more grown-up look. Her long and muscled legs, having developed from years of playing quidditch, are her favorite part of her body. She has a rather noticeable feminine figure about her and doesn’t mind to show it off.
In Brittany’s closet you would find a wide variety of clothing. Having grown-up in a muggle household, she is most comfortable in their clothing styles. Skirts, shorts, jeans, tank tops, tee-shirts-she will wear it all and loves to do so. Though she has a witch’s wardrobe also with just about every color you can think of for robes and in an array of different styles. It just depends on where she’s going and what she’ll be doing there.
Personality Description:
Brittany is a mesh of many different traits put into one body. She is almost always an outgoing and happy person. She loves to laugh and have fun, but has her serious times too. She is not often shy and likes when she meets new people. Being easy-going, she doesn’t seem to fret about too many things. People that worry too much bother her, she likes to just stay calm and relax but knows when it’s time to worry. Not too big on thinking before she speaks, Brittany often just says what is on her mind.
Demonstrating her Hogwarts house, Gryffindor, she is courageous and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. She likes figuring out situations and is able to think outside of the box, most of the time. She is one way or the other with things, there is no in-between. She hates it or she loves it, she leaves or she stays, not too much thinking involved there. Hardheaded and stubborn, one would have quite a time attempting to convince her into something.
Although she is quite eye-catching she is modest about her beauty. During her schooling years, she was, by far, never the prettiest girl in her year or of no real attraction until around her fifth year. Brittany stills holds this image of her self in her mind and doesn't let her head get carried away with her self.
Brittany believes that the potential one has in life is truly unlimited and should be carried out to the highest possibilities. Which is why she can't seem to settle on what she wants to do with her own life.

Brittany Garland was born in Jacksonville, Florida in the United States on September 21st to a Michael and Susan Garland. She grew up in a small house just outside of Jacksonville with her mom, dad, and little sister. Her father and little sister were both muggle's, while her mother was a witch. Brittany’s powers showed up at around age five when the door shut in her mother’s face as she was walking in to grab her sister and her. Susan was an abusive alcoholic that had been diagnosed with depression and bipolar disease. Her being a witch made her father helpless, so Brittany's childhood, to say the least, was not a cakewalk.
Each day Brittany had to be the one to protect her little sister and her self from their crazed mother. With her father being in the United States Navy, he wasn't even around to help out. Having to grow up early was not a problem for her because she recognized it as something that she had to do. Normally, she took care of Nichole while her mother slept the day away. Every other night her nightmares became reality as their room became thier safe-haven, their door the barricade.
Her parents were finally divorced when she was ten. However, by that time Brittany had become so accustomed to adulthood their was simply no taking back the years that she had missed which made her mature for anyone her age. Brittany refused to speak or see her mother, even though Nichole kept in contact. There was no forgiving her for taking her childhood away and she had been too old to simply write off all of what had happened as simply bad dreams.
That year Michael transferred to England to put some distance between the remants of their past. The following year, as Brittany turned eleven, she received the letter from Hogwarts. Her father had always planned on sending her to a wizarding school and was surprised to discover how worldly the wizarding community was. At school, accepted as a Gryffindor, Brittany excelled in her studies and began to make friends among the various houses. In her third year, she was informed that her dad had been requested back in the United States and she was given the choice of remaining at Hogwarts or leaving. Not wishing to leave her beloved school and friends she chose to stay, knowing she'd be able to see them during the holidays.
However, the next year her past began to rear it's ugly head. Brittany was informed that her mother was searching for her, claiming that her gift of magic entitled her to the girl. Safe at Hogwarts, Brittany was told that she could not visit her father nor sister in regards to their safety and her own. Being cut off from her family was unbearable and by her fifth year she decided to visit them over Christmas, unannounced. Everything went well until Christmas Eve when Susan and Brittany fell into the familiar role of the protector. Unable to use magic she fended off the drunk, half-crazy woman the best she knew how to get her sister out okay, but ended up back on a plane the next morning with a broken wrist along with a broken heart.
It would not be until after graduation that she would see her family again, not until her mother passed away. Upon graduating Brittany decided to see the world. During this time she traveled back to the United States and was able to reconnect with her father and sister. After spending time with her family and promising to keep in touch she returned to Europe. At first she just wished to travel and not be settled down.
Though after traveling around for a little while, she finally settled herself into an apartment in Milan, Italy. She fell in love with the old architecture and culture in the place. There, Brittany wrote a column for a popular local wizarding magazine. However, she quickly changed her mind about living there after a month or so, with feelings of regret popping up. Brittany pondered for a long while about whether she should return back to England. Her final decision landed her in the heart of London, after nearly a year of being gone.
The young woman took up living with two old friends in Wendelring Apartments. She obtained a job working as a reporter for the Daily Prophet with the help of one of the friends that she began living with. Only holding the position of a field reporter, she was barely able to write any sensible pieces. After a year and a half of working there she decided that it was time for new experiences, and a new job.

Brittany is an easy-going and all-around happy person. She finds no use for dwelling on the past and looks towards the future. Charms being her favorite class, she is particularly gifted with spellwork. Writing is a strong suit of her and she has a constant yearn to learn and figure out things.

The young woman can get her self into trouble. She is way too curious for her own good and can't seem to keep her nose out of things. Stubborn to the core, she will not be persuaded to anybody's opinion except her own. She also has a bit of a pride problem. Being helped isn't in her nature and she isn't one to ask for help. Herbology was her worst subject in school and to this day she cannot manage to keep a plant alive.

Brittany worked at a magazine in Milan, Italy for around a month or two. There she wrote columns on the latest happenings in the city and surrounding areas. The magazine featured various stories from fashion to world-wide dilemmas. She has been working for the past year and a half at the Daily Prophet as a field reporter. Brittany has covered stories on happenings around the country and recently covered the Stonehenge Music Festival.
