Standing from behind her desk, Celina had it set in her mind that she was leaving. She had packed the powder away in her pocket securely and she just wanted out. Alfonz would be in his office working, but she didn’t care. She wanted to see him; she needed to tell him everything that had happened. He was the only one who could protect her truly, and would know what to do about all of this. Did she go back to class? Had she really a choice?
“I won’t let anyone see me, Professor.” Celina said nodding her head and wondering where her friends had gone, too. Don’t call me professor anymore Celina, just call me Alex or Xander. Celina’s eyes grew wide and she knew that was crossing one of those boundaries she wasn’t comfortable with. Older men needed to be respected, and by doing that she was to call them by their title and last name. That was just that. “Yes, sir,” she said mechanically. There was no way however, that she’d actually call him by his first name. Definitely…umm…no.
“I’m not really sure…” Celina said as she shook her head ‘no’ about helping him planning his lessons. “I think you’re a good professor, sir. I just…” Celina shrugged. She didn’t know why her friends had really left other than the fact that they had gotten upset with him. Frankly, Celina thought that they were all in the wrong. They shouldn’t have left. It wasn’t polite, proper, and many other things. Celina had always gone to classes (except the one charms class she slept through on accident and hated herself for since), even Brady’s class. “I thought your lesson was very informative and interesting and I liked it a lot.” Celina said truthfully.
More silence and the man muttered something that was inaudible for the young Raven to hear. She stood, waiting for her dismissal. “May I go now, sir?” she asked of him. An hour early would mean that she could depart and find Alfonz…avoid the others…and try to figure out what really had just gone on.
