Alex walked in, smiling. He was happy because the lesson was of his own culture, he was floating a large crate behind him and he was not carrying any books right now. No need when you already have it in memory he thought, placing down the crate and walking over to the board. He tapped it and it wrote: Roman Wizard history Dating back to the time when Rome was full of wizards, muggles and druids alike.
Be ready for a surprise... Alex nodded at the writing and then he proceeded to dim the lights, after the lights were dim enough, Alex charmed the words to glow and then he changed his clothes into an Old Roman Wizard's robes. Alex then proceeded to take out a sketchpad where the ancient artifacts and some wizard family and people in Rome were sketched. Alex then transfigured the classroom to look like a Roman classroom would, he figured this might be enough of a change and he had a plan for his students. Alex looked around and admired his work and then sat down on his chair when he was sure it was all ok.

Celina almost passed by the History of Magic classroom for the lights looked, at first, to be off. When she neared the room, however, she realized that the room’s lights were just dimmed. Slowly, she entered the classroom looking around and seeing that as usual the room was changed in a way that fit to what they would be discussing that day. But where was Atwood? Celina didn’t see anyone at first as she slowly made her way to the second row in the middle of the classroom. Noticing the effects of the glowing words and the, what the board had told her were, Roman settings, Celina was a bit in awe for Atwood had really outdone himself that time. Everything was so authentic.
Sitting down, Celina sighed and then looked behind the desk noticing that there was where a professor sat. Without a hat? Atwood always wore hats…and yet, there was no silhouette of a hat. Celina wished the lights were brighter so she could see who sat behind the desk, but instead she removed from the bag she had carried with her some parchment and a quill with a bottle of ink, preparing to take notes and waiting for the other students to arrive.

" Hello Professor..." His natural instinct upon entering the classroom was to greet Professor Atwood aka; The Mad Hatter. Connor looked around the room, wondering if the man was playing tricks on them. He wouldn't put it past him to have someone else pretend to teach the class. He would get a real kick out of that. But it appeared that Atwood was nowhere in sight. He tried to get a closer look of the new professor, but the lights were dimmed and the room had been changed to look like that of a roman classroom. Interesting indeed. Maybe this new guy would know what he was doing as well?
Connor spotted Celina and walked over, tapping her lightly on the shoulder and saying, " Hello, Miss Jedynak. " He smiled down at the girl before taking the seat next to her, setting his stuff on the desk in front of him.

Alexander smiled as a girl walked in, she must think he's the old professor still. Alex just sat there, grinning and waiting to see if someone else would come. He needed atleast two students to come so he could start, he smiled when another student came. Alexander just sat there and tapped the board, now it added in shining words: thou shalt change into Roman clothes, wave thy wand over thy clothes and change them into Roman student robes. Alexander then stood up and made a few torches appear to light the room, then he waved his wand and closed the windows completely. "Welcome to Rome, thou shalt learn the history of Rome. I am Alexander Griffiths and I am your new professor and History of Magic, I'm sure you'll find this interesting" he said, smiling at the two students. "While we wait for your classmates, why don't you two change your clothes and then look in the crate and take out one of the six stones that have sculptures of Ancient Roman leaders and Druid leaders." Alex pointed at the crate and he waved his wand and conjured two floating candles for each table, "I have also my sketchpad here with illustrations and drawings of some interesting events that I copied from old ruins, feel free to take a look" he pointed at his desk and then Alexander sat down again.

Drew walked into the classroom, glad to see Atwood was no longer there. History was never the Head Boy's favorite subject, but the old Professor had been a total dork and had just made the lesson even more unbearbale. Maybe this new guy would actually teach them something.
After greeting the professor, Drew headed towards a seat near the middle of the class, noticing Celina and Connor were already there. He was getting used to sitting in lessons with the sixth years and knew that if Celina was around, that was a good sign Felicity would be joining the class soon. The older Ravenclaw smiled at the other two as he sat down and he promptly got his books and notes out, ready to try and make the best of the class.

Flying down from the Gryffindor common room, Felicity quickly found her way to the first floor, only being caught up once. It was due to running into a wall that used to be an opening behind a tapestry and she thought it would remain an open shortcut, apparently, she was wrong. The red nose was enough to show that there was no longer an opening, but a solid wall. It just wasn't right that things that used to be there only the day before no longer were.
Making it to the first floor safely after that, Felicity entered the darkened classroom, surprised that it was so dimly lit. Wouldn't it be better to make sure none tripped and hurt themselves and therefore to have the lights bright so the students could see properly? It made sense to the blonde.
However, she didn't ponder on the thought too long as she saw the height of her boyfriend, tallest boy in the school that she was aware of. And who else would sit as tall as Drew did? Making her way to him, Felicity slipped into the seat next to him, letting Celina and Connor be for the time being. They had every single class together, she didn't really get to be with just Drew in class.
Smiling at her two friends, as yes, she was considering Connor as a friend. She wanted to get to know him before making anything official, but she was pretty sure he would be one at some point. Felicity reached over and found Drew's hand, gave it a squeeze, then started shuffling around in her bag for her notes and quill. "How are you?"

"Hey you," Drew greeted the pretty blonde, grinning as she sat down next to him. His smile grew wider as she took his hand and he returned the squeeze with one of his own. He would have gone so far as to give her a quick kiss if the professor hadn't been there, but figured with the guy sitting behind his desk, that wouldn't be so cool.
"I'm good," he answered back, noticing how her eyes glistened in the torchlight. He had a feeling that maybe History wouldn't be so unbearbale after all. A new prof and sharing a table with his girlfriend. Yup, life was pretty good.

Alex was amused at his students, he just shook his head and said "Class, just trsnafigure your robes into Roman Wizard robes and you can talk while we wait for the others. I expect you know what Ancient Roman robes are" he then walked over to the crate and took out the six miniature sculptures of the ancient roman wizards and the druids. Nonno and Nonna would have lectured me about having druid sculptures here he thought, shaking his head.
"If any of you have questions about the settings of this classroom, don't hesitate to ask. I'll just be here, by the way be careful I might have left a few of my inventions under your desks, call to me when you see something. Be careful" he said, laughing on the inside. It would be funny to see his students looking in the dark for something that wasn't really there. Alex wasn't forgetful, he just liked to do these kind of things to his students.

"Me too," Felicity answered, though Drew hadn't asked. However, she felt the need to confirm that she, too, was good. After all, another class that year with the seventh years, she got to sit with Drew, and even though History had been one of the classes she'd goofed off in the year prior, she was still not planning on paying particular attention. How she managed to pass the O.W.L. in this class was beyond her, she wasn't interested in it very much. It was a boring class with boring subject material, she much preferred Herbology, Potions, and Care of Magical Creatures on days they did practical lessons.
As she was sorting her notes, she heard the professor say something about transfiguring their robes and she stopped moving completely. This was History of Magic, not a wand class. And while she was fairly confident in Transfiguration, she didn't own many school robes and couldn't afford to replace one. It wasn't Atwood's style to command them to change. Sure, she was used to the room set-ups and the crazy outfits he wore, but to ask them to dress up too? It just wasn't like the crazy man.
"Sir?" Felicity started, really not liking that he wanted them to change their robes. It wasn't a wand class and she ignored what the man had to say about finding things under their desks, again, not Atwood's style. "This isn't a wand class, and I don't see why we should have to change our robes around..."

Drew gave a low, nervous giggle, realizing he had been too caught up in her eyes to ask back how she was doing. Good thing she knew him well enough not to get offended by his slip. "I'm glad," he told her with a crooked smile, wishing again that he could kiss her in class.
Drew's attention was shifted from the Gryffindor to the professor when Felicity spoke to the man. He hadn't even noticed the writing on the board, given the dimmed lights and his bad eye sight. Of course, that explained the man's get up, but Drew had just assumed that was what the guy wore usually.
"But... we're required to wear the school uniform in classes," Drew pointed out, not liking the idea of playing dressup. He wasn't a pre-schooler and if had a choice of wearing something else, it sure wouldn't be Roman robes. So maybe this guy wasn't going to be better than Atwood after all. Seriously, who left important inventions just lying around under student desks?

Celina was confused. Highly confused. The man wanted them to change their clothing? Wait...he wasn't Atwood.
A tap on her shoulder just moments before the Professor had said anything caught the attention of the Raven as she looked up to the person just as they had greeted her using her last name. The voice was the first thing that brought a smile to Celina's face, which only brightened as she noticed whom in fact it was. "And to you, Mr. Manning, a very nice day indeed, I'm hoping?" she giggled and gently tucked her locks of hair behind one ear. Connor sat down and Celina bit her bottom lip, her stomach doing an unwelcome flip as he did so.
Before she had gotten any other words out to the boy, however, Professor Griffiths were telling them to change into diffrent robes by waving their wands and transfiguring them. She raised an eyebrow and before she could ask anything about ancient roman robes, Felicity and Drew came in. "What exactly did he want us to do?" Celina asked Connor sheepishly and lightly for clarification to see if she had heard him correctly or not.
The professor said it again, this time adding that they had to be careful of inventions he had left under their desks. Celina picked up her feet resting them on her chair so that her knees were tucked into her chest and she held them there by wrapping her arms around them. Looking under her desk, she didn't see anything, but then again, the lights were still somewhat dim even with the new fire torches and so on. Especially, under the desks.
Drew and Felicity both questioned the clothing change and Celina just didn't know what to think. "Connor..." she said hesitantly as she looked at something glimmering under his desk. "What class are we in again?"

Alex shook his head "Yes and this is my class, I don't need you to tell me what to do because I know what to do. Unless you want a boring lecture, do as I say and we'll be doing something different. If you don't change your robes I'm going to change that to Roman toga's permanently" he said, getting a bit annoyed now. "I think you enjoy boring lectures, then step up here, be the teacher and I'll be the student" he added, looking at the girl and the guy beside her. He was challenging them to test his patience.
Alex's Robes changed to normal as soon as he stepped out of the classroom, he showed it to the students and said "Do you still have doubts... what's your name miss?" He then summoned a large book from his office across from his classroom and floated it towards the girl and the boy's table. "I don't enjoy long lectures so if you want to be bored be my guest and be the teacher" he said, walking back in and closing the door with a snap and sitting on one of the student tables. "By the way my name is Alexander Griffiths and I'm your new History of Magic teacher" he added, this was his greatest annoyance.

Drew stood, not caring who this guy was. Professor or not, he couldn't threaten students like that. Granted, it was just changing their robes, but he couldn't force them to wear some goofy outfit.
The fact that the man's robes changed did nothing to sway his opinion on the matter. Drew was a competent wizard and could easily change what he was wearing to a pair of board shorts and a hula shirt if he so desired. The point was, he didn't want to play dress up. He was there to learn History.
"So you aren't going to teach us?" Drew asked, still hoping the man wasn't really saying what it sounded like he was saying.

Connor gave a light shrug as the man instructed them to change their normal school robes into that of the Roman variety. He supposed the man meant togas, but why did they have to change? He didn't question it as Felicity and Drew did, merely shrugged his shoulders before responding to Celina. " A very good day. But it looks like a chance of stormy weather. " He nodded his head towards the new Professor who was now snapping at Drew and Felicity. This new man had a temper on him, and if he didn't watch it he could get fired just as easily as he had gotten hired. The Slytherin, and many other students, had seen it happen quite a lot so it wouldn't shock him if the same thing happened to this man.
Why was he being such a brute? Felicity had only asked why they had to change their robes. And Drew did have a point... it was dress code to wear the school uniform. Connor gave the teacher an annoyed glance. He was obviously not going to be a favorite among the sixth and seventh years this term. Connor was usually a respectful and polite lad, but as the new Professor went on, he grew somewhat angry at the man. He was, fortunately, glad for the distraction of Celina talking to him once again. He looked over to the Ravenclaw and noticed how she had pulled her legs up onto the chair. Did she think something would get her? The thought made him smile and relax a little, his frustration at the professor diminishing slightly. " Robes... and we're in History of Magic, why do you ask? " He watched as Drew stood up now... This didn't look too good.

"And I don't need you to tell me what to do," Felicity retorted, not caring for the attitude from the Professor. She was certain it wasn't Atwood. While she'd had a bit of trouble with Atwood, he hadn't ever acted like that, not even when giving them the detention, he was actually nice about handing a detention over to her, Drew, and Celina. There was no way this man was Atwood. "Not everyone has the talent to transfigure their robes, sir. And I don't think it's right, nor fair for you to assume that everyone could do it, nor that you're requiring us to in a non-wand class."
And as for the threat to change her robes, well...that was a whole other matter. Felicity may not have been liking Brady or Raynor, but at that moment, she thought she might actually turn to one or the other, likely Brady.
"I don't think my name matters, sir," Felicity answered, picking up her notes and shoving them in her bag. She didn't like whoever this guy was, and was still sure it wasn't Atwood. "I'm not partaking in your class." And as the book floated over to where she and Drew were seated, she looked at it disdainfully. He was the professor, supposed to teach them. Just because they were taking History of Magic, had somehow managed to obtain the O.W.L. required to continue the class, it didn't mean they'd all passed the Transfiguration O.W.L.
As the man walked to the back of the classroom, Felicity merely huffed in anger, trying not to let it get to her. She'd made the O.W.L. and was trying to be a good student and take the class. Well, he proved her right, he wasn't Atwood. Throwing an apologetic look at her three friends, Felicity made her way to the door, bag slung over her arm, and tried to open it. What was he going to do? Ensure she got her Prefect badge taken from her? All the better, at least she'd be getting something from out of the class.
