The classroom for today was set up as it had been once before. However for the first years who were to be entering the classroom that day, it would be a surprise to what they were used to with classes. Marvin knew the first years needed something special after what had been going on in the school recently. This lesson was sure to give them a bit of enjoyment while still teaching them. Hopefully this lesson would go fine. He had realised with the last lesson that the students didn't exactely get along like they hopefully would and tended to cause alot of trouble.
In the center of the room was a large podium with a big pole in the center and tied to the pole was a straw scarecrow. Underneath was kindling and other kinds of flammable material. The chairs in the room were set up a safe distance from the podium for the first years to sit on. Witch burnings. An important part of the sylabus for the first years, and an interesting lesson for them to learn.
Marvin sat on the edge of the podium awaiting the first years. Upon his head rather then a normal wizards hat was instead a plain old regular straw hat, identical to the one the scarecrow was wearing. Marvin waved his wand to open the door, allowing the entrance of the first years. Hopefully they were less rowdy then they were the lesson before, but even if they were not he would be ready for them. Marvin sat watching the door with a smile.

Today was slowly turning out to be the second longest day she had since Hannah had been at Hogwarts. The first was the Deva takeover and now today. Today was the pits, even worse than those pits you spat out after eating an orange. Though, Hannah would much prefer it if she was in some kind of pit, even a Troll pit, at least she could have fun with those trolls and confuse them. That would be much better than trying to keep her promise to herself.
Hannah walked into the History of Magic classroom and groaned. The girl was first, first as in the only person in the room that was under thirteen. Hannah hated being first, but figuring it could come in handy for her if she grabbed the seat furthest away from the door and the one clouded in shadows. At least she might be able to stay hidden for a little while.
Hannah walked quickly around the scarecrow, sitting herself at one of the seats way in the back and she proceeded to contemplate why there was a scarecrow in the middle of the room. The only scarecrow she liked was the one out of Wizard of Oz and she didn't really like this Professor for some reason. Only because he wore hats in the inside and silly hats at that. Hannah sighed, wishing today could be all ready over and done with.

Jeremy had kicked walls on the way to History class so now his toes were good and sore. He probably would have kicked suits of armor as well, but he had found out that they kicked back so he avoided them. He wasn't happy about going to this class, but that wasn't unusual. He wasn't happy about any of his classes. At least he wasn't required to use a wand in this one.
He stopped at the door and saw that Hannah was already there. She had made it very clear that she did'nt want to sit with him, even after he had saved her a place in Potions and had waited for her in herbology. He made a face at her and sat on the other end of the room before putting his head down.

Brenton walked swiftly, no, he ran to class. This was going to be one class where big-eared boy didn't beat him. There was no way that kid was faster than he was, and if he was, well, Brenton couldn't think about it because it wasn't true. Reaching the door, he huffed and puffed just like the wolf from the tale of the Three Little Pigs, and clutched at a stitch in his side. He had to beat that kid this time.
There was no particular reason why he had to, he just felt he had to. What good was it if he was always beat out by the kid with big-ears to class? It started in class then moved to something else. Usually, it was sports, but Brent wasn't any good at those, so if this kid was good at sport, Brent had to beat him at least in getting to class. Sure, he made a fool of himself in front of that one girl when he nearly leapt over her because she was in his way, and then he tripped and tumbled down a couple of stairs, but it didn't matter because he was going to be first.
Walking into the class with a smirk on his face, his jaw dropped at the sight of that kid yet again! How could he beat him getting to class? This wasn't fair!
If Brent had it in him, he would glare at the kid, but he wasn't sure if he was royal or not and it would break poor Mrs. Fortune's heart if he dissed someone of good stature. It was like a defeated purpose before it even started. There was no way he was going to keep being behind the kid with dumbo-sized ears, no way! And to top it all off, he wasn't nice! Groaning to himself, he let his shoulders sag. This was getting to be ridiculous.
After catching his breath though, he saw what was in the room. That was one of those things farmers put in their fields to scare away birds, it didn't always work, but they were kind of cool.
Deciding to admit defeat, at least for the time being, he walked over and took a seat with the big-eared boy. Even if he was mean and Hannah was nice, he couldn't let Mrs. Fortune down.

Elizabeth followed Jeremy at a distance, curious as to why he was kicking the walls. She thought he'd need something better to kick and was about to offer her own shins (she hadn't gotten any good bruises in quite a while), when he disappeared into the classroom. Next came a blur as that Slytherin boy hurried past and Elizabeth now wondered why anyone would want to run to classes. They weren't so exciting that SHE would want to be first one there.
Shaking her head, Elizabeth entered the classroom and glanced around the room. She was in a sort of nice mood at the moment and wanted to sit by someone. Hannah, of course, would not be that someone. The Ravenclaw was far too rude and mean, dishing out insults and constantly glaring at Elizabeth when Elizabeth couldn't recall ever being mean and rude to Hannah. The Slytherin wasn't an option, either. Elizabeth still ached to kick him once more. But Jeremy.....
"Can I sit here?" Elizabeth asked in a forced voice, pointing to the chair on Jeremy's other side. It was the first time she had ever actually asked to do anything, preferring instead to just take. Elizabeth hoped she wasn't getting sick...

Of course things went from bad to worse to worst of all. He had sat away from Hannah, hoping no one would bother him and then New Boy shows up and plops himself down in the next seat. And if THAT wasn't bad enough, Fat Girl comes along and blocks him in on the other side!
He was trapped. There was no way out. He was positive that the other two had conspired to sit on either side of him so that they could torment him through the whole class without the professor seeing anything. And Hannah was probably in on it too. She had been setting him up all day for this, avoiding him in classes. He was sure of it.
He lowered his head and didn't say a word to either the boy or the girl sitting next to him. With any luck they would get bored of beating up on him quickly.

Well, normally when someone gave that sort or reply, or more like no reply at all, Elizabeth would have sat down anyway. Jeremy's lack of an answer, however, bothered her a bit. Elizabeth stood there a moment, trying to decide what a lowering of the head meant. It was too much work trying to figure it out and she was getting a bit of a headache from it.
"I guess I'll just leave you to your girlfriend, then," Elizabeth's eyes traveled to Brenton as she said this. Shrugging her shoulders, the girl moved into a seat two down from Jeremy so she wouldn't bother him. The boy was a strange one, she decided. He always seemed to be pissed and uptight. Didn't the kid ever smile?

This was something Brent just could not take! He didn't like commoners too much, but this was an insulting one! She had just questioned his manhood, not that he was a man yet, but he wasn't a girl! And that was really mean to say something like that to the big-eared kid too. This just wasn't going to be good at all. He should've just stayed quiet and in the shadows, and just kept observing.
"Bet'er off wit' me than a pig in a stye," Brenton mumbled under his breath. He was not a girl, and he realized a little too late how what he said had come out, all he could hope was she didn't hear.
"I'm no' a girl!" he shouted, making a face at the Hufflepuff commoner. That was better, he felt relieved after that one, but that still didn't help big-eared kid. "And people like ya shouldn't insult people who're bet'er than ya." Royalty and commoners just didn't mix well, and even if dumbo-ears wasn't royalty, at least he was better than that commoner.
Settling back into his chair, he folded his arms angrily. It wasn't cool to lose your cool, even to a commoner, but she'd insulted both of them. Turning a bit to look at the kid next to him, he shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry mate," he offered. "I don't think I like her too much."
Whether he agreed or not, Brent didn't think he cared. But, if she was big-eared kid's friend, she wasn't a nice one.

Jeremy couldn't be too sure, but it sounded like New Boy called him a pig. Or maybe it was Fat Girl who was the pig. He wasn't sure, but he knew someone had been called a pig.
The boy next to him talked funny and while Jeremy wasn't too thrilled about new things, the boy hadn't hit him yet and had totally yelled at Fat Girl to boot. So maybe this kid wasn't so bad. At the very least, Fat Girl had moved away so now Jeremy only had to worry about the boy messing with him.
"She hits," the small Ravenclaw answered simply, agreeing with the other boy in his own way. The good news was that since the other boy had been the one to yell at her, he was also probably going to be the one she punched.

Elizabeth glared at the boy. Everyone should know that glare by now, but they would be surprised that this one looked a bit wet. Elizabeth was angry at the boys, but even more so at herself for letting them get to her. It wasn't something she would admit, but she hated to see everyone else huddled together with their friends while she had none. She was an outsider both here and at home and for some stupid reason it was really getting to her.
"In case you didn't notice, EVERYONE thinks their better than me," Elizabeth hollered back, not caring if she got in trouble for it or not. Even if she didn't, she might get docked points for what she was about to do next.
Standing up from her seat, the girl did not go after either boy. Instead, she pulled her bag onto her shoulder and marched out of the room.

Well this was even better! With Fat Girl gone, he wouldn't have to worry about her for a whole hour. Then again, she would probably be lying in wait for the tow boys as soon as class let out. Jeremy wished he knew of some secret passages so that he and the other boy could avoid her. He would make sure to ask Hannah to come along too since he didn't want Hannah to have problems either.
"We know it..." Jeremy mumbled in answer to the girl's outburst, not expecting anyone to actually hear him, and definitely not Fat Girl. She'd come back and hit him for sure for that one even if he didn't really think he was better than anyone.

"Yea mate, she kicked me in Transfiguration," he answered the boy. Did Brenton ever know she hit, at least, he knew she could kick, and with a kick like that she could probably hit just as hurtfully.
"Maybe if ya didn't go 'round insultin' people, they wouldn't think tha'," was all Brenton could think to say. He hadn't meant to hurt her feelings, but she did call him big-eared boy's girlfriend, and that just wasn't cool. As she left the room, he didn't smile, smirk or anything. Brent felt bad, but she deserved it, at least he thought so. He wouldn't ever have yelled at her if she didn't insult him the way she had, and it just further proved she was a commoner.

Jeremy didn't care the least that the girl's feelings had been hurt. In fact, he would bet money that the girl didn't really even have any feelings to begin with. How could she? She definitely wasn't very smart. Like he'd really fall for the "Let's be Friends now" trick after she had been so mean. Jeremy had been suckered with that game before and it wasn't fun at all. He definitely wasn't going to believe that trick again.

Hannah watched as the other firstie's filtered into the classroom and saw that Jeremy was the next to come in after her. The Ravenclaw girl attempted to hide further into the shadows but it didn't work because Jeremy had all ready spotted her and made a face at her. Hannah gave the boy a small smile in return and again she regretted her decision of not sitting next to him.
Hannah watched with interest when Brenton followed into the classroom after Jeremy and then Elizabeth entered. Hannah felt a bit of jealousy when Elizabeth tried to sit next to Jeremy, but she cheered silently when she watched Elizabeth storm out of the room, after proclaiming that everyone thought they were better than her. The blond girl had to let out a snort and a giggle when she heard that. How did that girl know what she was thinking? Hannah actually thought that the awful Huffle girl somehow thought she was better than her, seeing as how she was always being mean to her and Hannah had no idea why. Oh well, she didn't care either way if that Huffle girl liked her or thought that about her at all.
The only one thing that struck Hannah as weird was that the awful Huffle girl had said that she'll leave Jeremy to his girlfriend. The only friend that Hannah knew that Jeremy had as a girl was her, but she wasn't his girlfriend or anything and she wasn't even sitting next to him. The nice, cute Slytherin boy that was sitting next to Jeremy, looked nothing like a girl to her and Hannah thought that maybe that awful Huffle girl had lost her eyesight momentarily. Brenton looked nothing like a girl to Hannah.
Whatever it was, Hannah was thinking that looking for Troll caves in the forest was beginning to look like much better fun than attending classes. Though, that activity would have to wait until the weekend, it would make up for the miserable week she knew she was going to have.

Claire took her time coming into history of magic class. What was the rush after all, it wasn't like she was going to be late or anything. With her messenger bag strapped tight across the shoulders Claire lifted herself onto a banisher from the second floor and slid down to the first. It would have been fun to start from a higher floor but with those moving staircases, it would be horrible if one of the flights decided to move. At least her own two feet were on the ground as Claire continued onward to history.
The firstie had only just reached the door of the room when so called fat girl came storming out almost hitting the Slytherin to the ground. Claire didn't bother to see where she was going, but fat girl better not try to knock her down again or the snake might get a bit angry. Letting it slide for now, she turned and asked to no one in particular, "What the heck is her problem? Did I miss something?"
