The day was wearing on, and overall Roxanne's classes had gone quite well. Everyone was alive and healthy...the only class she had really been concerned about was the one that was dealing with fire charms, but it was all good in her book.
Time for the fifth years! She knew for a fact that she was teaching the Accio charm today, and had even set up. At each place, there set a feather, a piece of chocolate, a goblet, and a heavy piece of metal, weight around twenty pounds or so. In the center of the classroom, there was a large candle display, for those to try and conjure what they please off it it from a farther distance. It was a tall metal structure, candles adorning it, with ivy around it all. Obviously, Roxanne had too much time on her hands and made the whole display by herself, but that was part of the fun, no?
She waited intently for people to enter the classroom. Roxanne also kept an eye out for any student brave enough to try and eat the chocolate beforehand.

Walking into the Charms classroom, Bailey did not hurry this time. She had left extra early from the common room for a number of reasons. One, she had not wanted to have to run and be stressed out on the way. Two, she was a bit afraid of getting lost. And three, -well, she didn't actually have a three.
Although, as she noticed no one other than the professor in the classroom, her brows furrowed. She had not wanted to be this early. But, ah well. Better early than well, late? Glancing at all the materials, she rose a brow and wondered what they would be doing.
Walking up to the professor, Bailey smiled and extended her hand, "Hi, I'm Bailey Holland." she told the woman.

Deryn strolled into the Charms classroom and looked at the arrangement of items. Feathers and chocolate, weights and goblets. Deryn studied them for a moment, trying to figure out what they were for. She had come to the conclusion that they would probably be practising the Accio charm today. As the thought crossed her mind, it made Deryn smile. It was one of the few Charms she could actually do, and she was quite good at it, to say the least.
The thing that caught her eye first was the chocolate. The idea of this particular charm made her happy, but the thought of chocolate made her bad day seem a little bit better. She walked further into the classroom, still looking at the array before her, until she looked to the front of the class and noticed a pretty young woman standing there. She assumed that was the professor. Deryn hadn't met any of the professors yet, really, so as she entered every class, there was a new face she hadn't seen. This professor appeared to be nice, so Deryn decided to speak to her. "Hello, professor!" she said in a cheerful voice. Maybe a little too cheerful...

Gail opened the door and walked into the Charms classroom. The first thing she noticed was the enormous candle display sitting in the middle of the room. Then again, it was hard to miss. Intricate and clearly meticulously constructed, it would surely distract everyone in the room from the actual point of the lesson.
Finally tearing her eyes away from it, Gail noticed that the professor and two other students, who she thought were Gryffindors, were the only people in the room. She was glad to not be the first person to class. Gail had always been studious, but recently, she had other things on her mind. Showing up this early was rare.
The students and the professor seemed to be in the midst of a discussion, so Gail decided not to interrupt. Finding a seat about halfway forward, she sat down. It was only then that she noticed the items set at each place. A feather, a bar of chocolate, a goblet, and a weight were on the desk at each seat. Gail was curious. What on earth could they be for? She could only imagine that they would be practicing either the summoning or banishing charm. Back in her third year, she had studied the theory on both of these, but she had learned the hard way that theoretical knowledge didn’t necessarily equate to practical usage.
Still rather excited to be learning this charm, whichever it happened to be, Gail pulled out her wand and rolled it across her palm as she waited for class to start.

Quite distinctivly, the first thing that Brendan saw upon walking into the Charms classroom, was infact the chocolate. Reminding himself that he still had the box his parents sent him every week in the door, he headed off to the corner of the classroom. Sitting himself down in an empty seat, he began doodling. Charms was his second best subject in the magical strand, sad thing was he was still really bad.
Sighing slightly to himself, as he wrongly predicted that Bailey was yet to enter the room, for the sweet delacy had caught his eyes, he looked out the window, longing to be outdoors rather then in the stuffyness of a classroom.

Clara entered the classroom and couldn't believe that she had arrived early. She didn't know what the hell was wrong with her. Picking a random seat but one that wasnt too close to the others that were allready there she sat down.
Crossing her legs she shook one which expressed her impatience to get this class over with allready as she looked over the things at the front of the classroom.

With the hood of her cloak pulled over her face, Arianna shuffled into the classroom and took a seat near the front. Charms was actually her best subject, but she hadn't been having a good time in it lately. Their old teacher had been forced a new curricula that required her to teach things the girl had learned in her first year. Needless to say, Arianna had come to think the class boring and useless. Hopefully, that would all change with the new Charms professor.
Settling into her chair, Arianna pushed the items on her desk aside and brought out a large piece of parchment. Next to come out was a quill and ink well. Then, not to sound as though she were following suit but really doing what she always did before classes started, Arianna started to draw.

Ari, Deryn, Bailey, Brendan, and a pair of unknowns. Plus himself, that made seven total at the present. Not bad, but it mwant long turn sitting at a desk with nothing to do for a few more spells of minutes. Claiming desk as his rightful own he layed his head on the table and closed his eyes. Long day approcahing. Long, and tiring, meaning nothing more than the usual.
Again.

(Again, if you haven't posted yet, RP it as you were there all along or that you're late, though this will have IC consequences)
"Good Afternoon, Class"
Roxanne stood up, and went to the center of the floor, careful not to run the huge candle display over.
"I'm sure you all are quite intrigued by what is infront of you. I do ask you not to eat the chocolate, though it is tasty. If it's still chocolate by the end of the lesson, I'll let you eat it then."
"Today, you're objective is to try and learn the Accio charm successfully and by the end of class, be able to Accio things to you from the center of the room, those being the lit candles. A good Accio charm, when cast, makes the object appear in the caster's hand as it was sitting before. Therefore, if I do not believe you've mastered it, you won't get to try the candles, as they are lit and anything wrong with casting it may burn your hand off."
"This charm also shouldn't be confused with conjuring and summoning. Though it is technically summoning, it really isn't. Not even I can use Accio to summon huge things, that is what C/S is for, and there are different spells to do that. So, now that I've officially confused everyone, let us begin."
She went to the desks nearest her, that being where Gail Lawrence was sitting. "The simplest thing to use Accio on is something as light as this feather. Please, stand up out of your seats and move back so you can practice distance."
"Accio!" she said, focusing her attention on the feather. A moment later, the feather was lying in Professor Ashford's hand.
"For your level, I do suggest that you add the name of the object after the spell, to have a better chance of summoning the obejct. Please first begin with the feather, and then gradually make your way up with the heavier objects."
She placed Gail's feather down, and walked more in the middle of the room, making sure nobody Accio-ed anything they weren't supossed to.

Krissy had made it into the classroom the moment before the professor had begun speaking, as such she had made her way to her seat. She hadn't been looking foreward to this lesson, Krissy didn't want to spean any time at all with this woman. She grimaced slightly as she learnt what they were learning today, Krissy had, been taught this charm a year or so ago by an older friend and had been using it for a while, hence making it easy enough for Krissy to do, the good thing about this was though that Krissy had a lesson of sleep ahead of her.

Gail was astonished that the professor used her feather for a demonstration. It had been years since she had been good enough in any class to warrant being used as an example. Anymore, it was a startling feeling.
As the professor walked away, Gail closed her eyes and concentrated on the theory she had learned so long ago. After a few moments, she opened her eyes again and calmly said, “Accio feather.” It didn’t move.
“Accio feather.” Same result.
“Accio feather.” It twitched that time.
“Accio feather!” No movement.
Gail sighed. Her anger building, she cried out, “Accio!” The feather still didn’t move.
Her eyes went wide for a split second as she saw the goblet come rushing at her. It impacted in her abdomen, knocking her to the floor, very much winded, then clattered loudly to the ground.
Gail had a headache. At least it worked. Even still, she was reminded of why she hated theory anymore.
She could feel, more than see, Professor Ashford approach. It seemed as though there would be a decent lecture coming about how she should be more careful. Gail sighed again. That chocolate would be great right about now.

He could only wince as he saw the forth coming impact. The Accio spell was second year material. And he had presumed everyone knew it without difficulty, presumptions were apparantly inaccurate. By not stating an object to go witht he spell she had merely summoned the closest object. Not the wisest move to make.
"Ye'all right?" He questioned form his seat, not as much out of concern as it was out of someone had to ask it.

Arianna lazily practiced the spell, catching each item easily as they flew towards her. Within minutes she had moved to the heaviest object. It was as simple as playing a game of catch. For her, anyway. Obviously some didn't quite know what to do and Arianna's attention was suddenly averted from her own. Stupid it was of her, with a twenty pound hunk of metal flying at her.
Within that moment the thing had made it to the girl and smacked her upside the head. Arianna didn't have a chance to figure out what had happened, nor to say what she was going to say, before falling to the floor out cold.

Deryn was overjoyed when she heard the charm that would be using today. When the professor said they could practice, Deryn jumped out of her seat as fast as she could and grabbed a feather. She placed it on her desk and pulled out her wand.
Concentrating hard, she pointed her wand at the feather and closed her eyes for a minute. "Accio," she whispered to herself, making sure she could say it properly. Opening her eyes again, she made her first attempt. "Accio, feather!" it flew into her hand and Deryn smiled. She moved on to the heavier objects, but stopped for a minute. She looked over at a Ravenclaw who was moving as quickly as she was. She watched her for a minute, and then saw a piece of metal flying through the air and smacked her right on the head. Deryn dropped her wand and ran to the girl's side. She was out cold on the floor and Deryn bent down beside her. Trying to keep herself from laughing, although it really wasn't that funny, she called for the professor. "Uhh, Professor Ashford? We got a little problem down here," she called to the front of the room.

Just as Bailey was about to try the charm out, Arianna had fallen on the floor. Hearing the thud a few desks away from her, Bailey quickly turned her head. Seeing the girl on the ground, she immediatly stood up. Having not seen what had happened exactly, Bailey was not sure if the girl had just fallen asleep, or she had passed out.
