Ash found herself, yet again alone. Ever since she had attended this school she had felt that way, like a loner, well actually, it didn't start when she began wizarding school, even as a child in the muggle society. The kids in the neighborhood hated her, and often bullied her, although she didn't exactly understand why. She gulped at the thought of it and looked down.
She was sitting in the empty hallways during a Saturday afternoon. The corridors were silent, although she didn't care if they were noisy or not. She just felt terrible and really wanted to cry the whole thing out but Ash hadn't cried for a long time. She remembered when she was around four, her sister shrugged her off everytime she pleaded for help when the big kids would make fun of her. Ash's eyes flicked abnormally fast, to the side. She couldn't remember a time in her life when she felt really accepted. Her eyes became blurry as she continued to relive her memories.

Talia had been strolling on the fifth floor, humming a song stuck in her head. She wasn't sure where she was headed, but she was hoping to see someone she knew. She looked about, seeing Ash, and she smiled. She walked closer, and her smile soon faded, upon realizing Ash was sad, judging by the look on her face. Talia neared Ash and say down next to her. "You alright?" She asked, concern in her voice. It wasn't motherly concern, it was friendly concern, like someone would ask you if they were your friend. She noticed how Ash was blinking fast, and wondered if she was trying to hold back tears...

She looked up a bit startled. She shook her head. Usually she would deny something was wrong although she didn't feel like putting up a fake act again. Ash wiped away the tears that had fallen to her face and looked back down sadly. She was happy Talia had come for some reason. Ash breathed heavily as more tears fell from her eyes.

Talia searched Ash's face. She sighed, "I know you don't me very well... but I still would like to consider you a friend... and I have ears to listen with." She said, trying to help Ash. Maybe she needed to vent... maybe something else was pestering her, but whatever it was, Talia didn't like to see her friends sad, regardless of the situation. Talia could somewhat relate. She had a journal for a reason, for venting, since she hated sharing with anyone else, she kept secrets well. Which was funny since Hufflepuffs tended to keep secrets... even their own.

She looked up at her. She didn't know where to begin. Everything seemed wrong at this point... or maybe it was just her. Ash sighed in frustration. " I..." she paused to find the right words, her eyes moving to the side again, " I'm lonely." she managed. That was the only word to describe her situation it seemed. Loneliness, a terrible feeling. The tears began to stream freely from her face. It felt like she had swallowed a giant pill, or rather it was stuck, stuck right in her throat, unwilling to go down.

Talia frowned, and eyed her, "You're lonely? How so?" She asked. She wasn't quite sure how her friend was feeling, but it could've been anything, from bullying, to friends, to her past. She wasn't going to pry, Ash didn't have to answer if she didn't want to. Talia waited for her to replying, hoping she could help in some way with what Ash was going through. Maybe she just needed someone to sit down with and listen to her. Maybe she needed... a friend.

She shook her head again, this time she was sobbing silently. She tried to speak although it was interrupted by a sudden need of air. She covered her face with her hands and tried to catch her breath. It felt good, just to cry, that is. It felt nice to not have to hide everything away inside and trap it in a overly full container. It was like a release... " I just... I just" she sobbed again, this wasn't the prettiest picture of Ash. She had always wanted to look like one of those actors on TV who cried beautifully and didn't mess up their makeup although this was real life and she looked terrible.

Talia placed a comforting arm around her, and didn't say anything else. She knew Ash probably just wanted to vent, and Talia stayed, to make sure Ash knew she was still there, and wouldn't leave until she was told to go, or otherwise. Talia looked down the almost empty hall, as people half-stared, then went about their business. She wasn't entirely sure what to say to Ash at the moment, but she hoped just being there was a little bit comforting.

She leaned on Talia, appreciating that she was here so much. Ash's eyes were swollen and red, her whole face was covered in red actually. She didn't understand why crying felt so good. Her mother always told her not to cry since it did nothing for you. She was always ignored whenever she cried as a child... It wasn't tolerated in the Xin Household. Ash finally caught some of her breath that was taken away and began to speak a little, " I just feel as if... as if nobody really cares..." she said and she swallowed another overwhelming amount of air. She thought, is it stupid? To feel uncared about when you really are? Is it stupid?

Talia knew someone who was crying wouldn't want to be left alone, to look like they had been facing against the wind, and have to look everyone in the eye like everything was ok when it truly wasn't. Talia wasn't sure who Ash concidered as everybody, but Talia knew a lot of people who would beg to differ. "Well, I care." She said, not knowing if this comment would help any. She went on and said, "I care that you're so upset." She said. She didn't really know how Ash felt at the moment, but she knew she could be there for her anways.

She smiled through her red, swollen face. The only thing she could say now was, " Thank you." She was so glad Talia was here, she would have been able to cry like this if nobody came. Just her luck that somebody did. Ash continued to breath deeply and heavily, sobbing out all that anger and loneliness. Nobody has watched her cry or at least paid attention and cared since she was a young girl of four or five.

Talia smiled, her arm still placed gently around Ash, "Anytime... seriously." She said, glad Ash was feeling a little bit better at least. She waited to see if Ash would calm down and want to talk, or if she just wanted to calm down, and start up crying again... Talia would have to wait and see, but for now, she waited patiently.

Ash wiped her tears with her sleeve, although it didn't help much. "Ever since I was a .." she was robbed of her oxygen again and she stopped for a few seconds, finally she continued on, "They...they made fun of me. I tried to stand of for myself although that only caused them to ignore me..." She paused and coughed into her hands, sniffling softly.

Talia wasn't sure who they were, but she wasn't going to shrug it off either. "You know, it takes time to have self-esteem... and to find the right friends, but sometimes it's worth what you had to go through in the past." Talia said, not sure if her words would make Ash feel better, or if they even made sense to her particular situation but Talia tried none the less.

Ash nodded her head, it didn't exactly make any sense although she took it as words of comfort anyway. "You're right.." she said. She didn't understand why people would make fun of her when she was a child although it got to the point where whenever she said anything, it would be ignored although they would pay just enough attention to make fun of her or laugh.
