"It was a bunch of different stuff," Drew told the woman, thinking at how the man had almost reveled in how dangerous the artifacts had been. "Stuff from all over the world that can leave deep cuts, melt skin off... kill you." Sure, all of the professors had high level topics and in many cases kept dangerous potions or plants or animals, but he had never known any of them to leave those things lying around in an office where someone might touch them accidentally. They were usually locked carefully and only brought out for particular lessons.
"I offered to help him get them out of the school before they did more damage," Drew reiterated. " And then he says if any one finds out he has them, he'll know it was me who told and..."
At that moment, Griffiths himself emerged and Drew spoke a little stronger. "He said if I told I'd get more than just a few points docked and some detentions." The very fact that the man sealed his office the way he had added credibility to Drew's story. Who the heck sealed an office like that just to step out and read a stupid Howler? For that matter? Why the heck did the man leave his office to read something so important? Were those things in there so sensitive that even the Howler would have set some of them off? Drew imagined so.
The Italian boomed down the hall and while Drew tried to understand what it said, he couldn't. The man stormed back to his office, ignoring them, but Drew really didn't care. He had done exactly what he said he would. He told someone who could actually do something about it.
"I just think it's wrong that students can get punished for doing the right thing," Drew finished loudly as the man shut the door again.
