After the struggle of the century to get to the Gryffindor common room, Ben dropped his stuff off and felt the urge to explore. He'd heard there was secret passages galore in this place and his friends back home would be so jealous. It did suck that Ben had to explore alone, but he'd remember everything he did so he'd be able to write home and boast about his "great adventures". If he had them.
The new Gryffindor made it to the sixth floor when he stopped. It was deserted, the best conditions for snooping. If he found something he shouldn't, he wouldn't get caught. He could only image the kind of trouble he'd be in from his father if Ben was barely at school a day and ended up in the Headmistress's' office already. Not like they'd ever be able to reach his father anyways. By now he was probably in Zimbabwe, reporting on the mating habits of flies. Oh well, if he was, it would prolong the punishment.
A stone wall to Ben's right caught his attention. There were no portraits, no tapestries, not even a statue in front of it. Everywhere else, there seemed to be things in front of the walls but now here. And a stone block, just one, seemed a little out of place. Was it smaller? A different colour than the rest? Ben couldn't tell, but he knew something was fishy, taking out his wand, he tapped it cautiously, wondering what would happen.
For a moment, nothing. Then WHOOSH!
The wall slid back and off to the side, revealing a passage, no bigger then a doorway and darker than a starless midnight. And Ben was going on.

Winter time. Cold, dark, drab, gloomy. That's what Seanna thought when it came to the season that was winter. Rugged up like a snowman or woman that someone had made, the still blond haired girl had on a long sleeved yellow t-shirt, followed by a black zipped up jacket and finally a black hoodie jumper with the hood that covered her hair as well as most of her face.
Despite the layers of clothing Seanna had on, she was still cold. Nose, fingers, toes, you name the body part and it was cold. So why was she punishing herself by doing her usual night time prefect patrols in this weather when she could be tucked up in a nice, warm bed with the fire crackling away in front of her bed. That's where she could be. But no, she had to do her night time patrols, it was part of being a Prefect after all.
One thing about Prefect Patrols was that they were slightly boring if nothing happened and Seanna had yet to come across something that happened on her rounds, unless you count the fact that she ended up freezing when she was finished patrolling. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted something entering into the darkness behind a wall. Seanna groaned. Just what she needed, more drama in her all ready drama filled life... this drama was different to the other drama though, it gave her something to do on rounds as well. Going into the darkness bought up all kinds of drama for her, but she had to do it, had to follow the red hair that stood out of the blackness inside the wall.
Stepping up her pace, Seanna ran over to the entrance of the hidden passageway and was surprised that she didn't know about this one. Falling behind the red haired boy, she tried to put on a official prefect voice, "You know, you shouldn't be going in there, it's dark and cold. Plus, you don't know what's inside there... " Seanna trailed off, trying to peer through the darkness of the passageway to see if anything was in there, but all she could see was darkness.

Ben froze when he heard a voice behind him. So much for not getting caught. He wasn't sure if he was actually breaking any rules, but he figured there was still some way for him to get into some kind of trouble. As the red-haired boy turned, his eyes landed on who it was that had spoken behind him; a girl. Dear Merlin, here we go again.
"I..uhh...I just found it, like...it...it's not that dark, really..." Ben struggled to say, finding himself incapable of stringing words together properly. His head went down in shame slightly and he felt his cheeks burn, knowing that in a matter of seconds, his entire pale face was going to burn like the colour of his hair. Curse that damn pale skin.

"Not that dark?" Seanna repeated, raising an eyebrow at the boy and wondering what passageway he was in. Fair enough, it wasn't that dark where they were standing, but further down the girl could see that it was that dark that Seanna couldn't make out anything in the dark passageway. "That's only because the door behind us hasn't closed yet, once that closes, it's bound to be pitch dark" Seanna nodded, it was the way with most of the passageways she had ever come across. Light until the door closed, then the participants would be covered in darkness, the girl shivered at that thought.
"It's strange though, I've never come across this passageway before and I know where most of them are" Seanna commented, bringing out her wand and muttering "Lumos" Being a prefect didn't mean she couldn't have any fun, plus she was curious as to where this passageway ended up. "Much better, least we won't trip over anything now" Okay, so she was a glutton for punishment. Much as she hated the darkness, she couldn't really leave this find without looking into it, she'd tell Krissy later on about it, she was the Head Girl after all, she should know about this find.
"Oh. I'm Seanna, Seanna Marcellus. Hufflepuff sixth year" Seanna greeted the boy, forgetting again to introduce herself to someone she had just meant. The same thing happened when she came across Nick, but that time she had been more interested in the ice cream and this time, she was more interested in a new find.

Ben went even pinker when the girl rescued him by lighting her wand. He wished he'd thought to do that first, but now she'd done it. The colour only intensified when she introduced herself as Seanna Marcellus and a Hufflepuff. Ben had though he'd get put into Hufflepuff when he'd first applied at Hogwarts, but some manky old hat thought differently. Looking up finally, Ben was thankful that most of his face was hidden by shadows. "I'm Ben," he told her finally, "Ben Marshall. Gryffindor. I'm a sixth year too." He flashed her a smile and then heard the grinding of stone on stone and watched as the wall shifted and started closing them in.
Soon it was pitch black.
"Wicked," Ben said into the darkness, excitement in his voice, "Lumos." His wand tip flared up and burst into light, scaring off some more of the shadows that crept around the one source of light they had before. Starting off down the passage, Ben stopped and looked over his shoulder. "You comin'?" he asked the girl, a sly grin on his lips.

Seanna jumped, hearing the wall become a wall again and she groaned. Darkness and coldness. Two things Seanna didn't care much for, but this passageway was a find and there was no way she wasn't going to search it and find out where it led to, this passageway could come in useful if she ever needed it. It wasn't that she was afraid of the dark, she was just scared of what the dark held. The shadows were one thing, but then there was the added thing of not being able to see what was right in front of her, that scared Seanna more than what the shadows did.
"Of course I'm coming, I want to see where this thing leads to" Seanna stated, giving the boy a smile of her own. The girl saw Ben's cheeks and noticed from the light of her wand as she pointed it at him, that his cheeks had gone slightly pink, but she figured that might have been from the cold. Her own cheeks often turned pink from the cold, as well her nose, but that was another story.
Seanna moved forward, now standing beside the boy instead of behind him. "Better to be by your side than behind your behind" Seanna's grinned went wider. Cheesy yeah, but she spoke the truth. It was better to be beside Ben than behind him, she could see what was in front of her, well, only as much as the light from her wand allowed her to see.

It was pathetic how one cheesy comment could send Ben into such a wobble. His entire face flared up now, matching the colour of his hair. To anyone looking at him, it appeared as though he was being strangled. But no, he was merely around a girl. Ben would have liked to just sink into the ground and not come back up. He hated that he had no control over his facial features, or else he would never ruddy well blush again. With a slight sigh, Ben knew all he could do was simply solider on.
"Yeah," Ben answered with a nervous chuckle, doing his best to not let Seanna see his face, "Better to see that way." He nodded and continued muttering to himself about it being better to see. When he realized what he was doing, the Gryffindor shut up rather quickly and kept his mouth, not wanting to speak again unless he had to.

"So where you from, Ben?" Seanna asked Ben, not noticing the strangled look on his face for she was more concerned on checking out the passageway and what was inside it. All she could determine so far was that the passageway was made of stone, much like the stone on the walls at Hogwarts which seemed like a pretty good theory because they would still be technically in the castle, just not in the castle but somewhere inside the walls of the castle.
Seanna walked next to Ben, matching every step he made. The girl didn't want to go ahead of Ben, because she still thought it was better to be side be side than in front of each other, if anything came at them then, they would have a much better chance of fighting it. The Huffle girl just hoped that they didn't have to come up against anything.
"I'm from Italy, myself" Seanna told him, not really waiting for him to answer when she supplied where she was from. Talking stopped her from thinking the worse about everything, talking also stopped her thinking that she was actually in the dark, with no way out and no end to be seen in sight. A thought came to her and she suddenly realized that the wall door might not let them out either, if she decided to go back to the cold comfort of the sixth floor corridor.
"I hope it's not a dead end" Seanna murmured to herself than anybody else. Of course, talking didn't always stop her from thinking the worse. A dead end in a passageway that she had only just came across was a high possibility, but most passageways ended up somewhere, right? Oh well, if they had to turn around only to find the door wouldn't let them back out, there was always the Reducto spell...

"I'm from London," Ben told the girl as she told him where she was from, "Lived there all my life." Nothing else needed to be said about that because there wasn't anything else Ben felt the girl needed to know. If the topic of families came up, then there'd be something to chat about. But the Gryffindor hoped they'd stray from that, at least for the time being.
Looking down at the ground they walked on, Ben noticed Seanna matching his stride. A grin slowly struggled it's way onto Ben's face as he walked her feet for a moment until she spoke. "Might make it more fun if it was a dead end," Ben commented with a slight chuckle. But that laugh was cut short as Ben walked right through some cobwebs that had been invisible to him. The boy let out a yelp and jumped out of the way, nearly ripping his hair out as he tried to get it off him. "There's no spider, is there?!" he panicked, trying to look all over his body and brush anything bad off. Ben couldn't stand spiders. If you wanted to throw him into a pitch black corridor with no sense of direction or light, that was fine. But spiders, he was just not having any of that.

"Dead end? fun? Just for who, exactly?" Dead ends meant there was nothing to find in this find and they just had to walk back in the dark direction that they had just came from. Where was the fun in that? "I hope it's not a dead end" Seanna muttered. Plus, she just meant Ben, she hardly knew him, a dead end with a new boy probably wouldn't be a good idea at all.
Great. Spiders. Just one more thing added on to the things she didn't care for much and they all ended up being in this new passageway. Seanna shone her light over Ben and investigated him, searching for any sign of a spider. "Not that I can see, but then, I'm not getting any closer to find out either" Seanna told Ben, walking ahead of him since he had taken down the invisible spider web, but waiting for him to catch up. The Huffle still wasn't going to walk in front him, finding spiders would probably be the first thing they would find in a dark and empty passageway. Who knew what else was yet to come?

The Gryffindor couldn't help but whimper slightly as he madly scratched at his back, trying to see if anything was there. Once he'd decided he was safe, Ben tried to straighten himself out. He fixed his sweater, pulling it down all around the bottom and cleared his throat. "Guess, uhh...guess there wasn't anything," Ben spoke quietly, his cheeks flushing up again. Brilliant. Cry like a little girl when the big bad spiders come after you. Just ruddy brilliant.
Raising his wand again, Ben jerked his head in the direction of darkness. "Continue?" he asked the girl.

A grin was tugging at Seanna's mouth, but she was desperately trying to fight it because she didn't want to seem rude in front of Ben... but it was quite funny watching him trying to straighten his clothing out and scratching his back in a almost monkey style. "I think they got scared off by your... uh, dancing" The tug of war that was playing on Seanna's lips had ended, and a grin finally appeared there through the darkness.
"'Spose so" Seanna responded, still not going anywhere until he started to walk. Yes, she could very well take care of herself, but no, she wasn't silly-- though some would beg to differ-- she wasn't going anywhere until he was by her side. It was just better that way and she wouldn't be the one to run into something first, they would both be there. "Tell you a secret, I'm scared of spiders too" So she was assuming again, but anyone that made that kind of dance over spiders just had to be scared of them.
