"No, that's the thing. I don't think she can... officially," Drew said, knowing that if she could, she'd probably be teaching them Defense class, or at very least arrange a class and professor herself. She was under pressure from the Ministry and as Headmistress, her hands were virtually tied.
"But... If we approach her as just setting up review session for NEWTs and stuff... Maybe suggest that we might invite younger kids... kind of a tutoring service, playing it off that we're not even doing defense stuff," Drew continued, thinking outloud. "I think we could word it so that she knows what we're doing and then, maybe can give us some guidelines and suggestions and stuff."

"That'd be pretty great," Charlie said in continuous praise of the idea. It was incredibly useful in these times when personal defenses were low and yet this superficial defense was high. Yes, Aurors were around-- OOOH. But they were as useful as a knife to a can. Not while the younger kids knew absolutely nothing about defense was anywhere safe. They were lucky to get by on the little training they had, and the leadership of some.
"Listen-- we'll both spread the word, get a secure location, and drop hints to Raynor," She found the plan to be basically simple. Drew knew better than she did with adding a more complex structure to their layout. "So what do you say? Good?"

Drew glanced again down both hallways. They were still clear. "Sounds like a plan," he answered with a short nod. The tricky part would be letting Raynor know what was going on without coming right out and telling her. He wondered if he could get her to go 'off-record' for something like this.
"That Room of Requirement is probably the best place if we want security," Drew said, wondering if doing it out in the open might not actually be better. "But if we meet in an empty classroom, it looks less suspicious, you know?"
