It was an early morning for Felicity and her dad, he woke her up in time to watch the sunrise and to talk with her about things. He wanted to know how she was, having gone so long without seeing his youngest daughter, everything that happened. The illness she'd gone through over winter break was a huge subject of conversation, and after that, the ring Drew placed on her finger. Though she'd been home for a bit of time, she hadn't had a lot of time to sit down and talk with her dad alone; having started right in with her early morning hours waitressing, her dad preparing her to get her license since she was seventeen years old now, and the family celebrating Christmas finally. Her dad's gift to her this year was a promise, one not to kill Drew for doing what he did on Valentine's Day. And as much as he currently loathed the older boy for doing what he did, even he had to admit the piece of jewelry looked mighty fine on her.
Despite everything, the fact nearly everyone in the Hjort family tried to convince him, he didn't believe Drew was really that nice of a guy. He was young, male, and a teenager dating an extraordinarily nice looking younger female. Ib had been there, he knew what was on that boy's mind, and likely other things. But Felicity wouldn't fess up to him about anything physical between the two of them and he knew there had to be something there on that boy's part. All Felicity would tell him was they kissed, held hands, normal first date activity. Ib knew she had to be lying.
However, at 8:30am, Drew was to be meeting the family at the Hjort home so they could all attend the 9am mass at their church. The only reason Ib was willing to let him join them, without Felicity sitting in the same pew, was because she wanted Drew to see her sing with the choir. Otherwise, Ib might be willing to make Drew sit in the back on his own, or possibly attend at a different time from them. Unfortunately, he also knew how awful that looked on him from the view they'd be at that morning hour.
Upon arrival, the family left the home, walking to their church for the mass they always attended, where Felicity slipped her hand into Drew's on the walk, and gave him a peck on the cheek when she and Cherry left to join the choir while everyone found places to sit. An hour later, sermon given, music done, the church goers of the morning hour gathered for donuts and tea and to mingle among one another, some of the favourite subjects being that of the reappearance of the youngest Hjort girl, ring on her finger, with boy in tote, ten months after her last appearance. Why hadn't she shown up for Christmas break like the year before? Was it possible she had taken the nine month leave? And then another month to recover? Surely Ib Hjort wouldn't allow a boy to be near her for so long, especially the same one that had been at the New Year's party the year before, and to allow a ring to appear on her finger? No, it wasn't a wedding band, but it looked close enough from a distance.
The gossiping hens took their place, noticeably eyeballing the youngest Hjort daughter and the boy with her. Could he really even be called a boy? His height was deceptive, or was it his face that was? He looked extremely young, but his height made him look much older, so did his air. What had happened in the last ten months that she was sent away and returned in the state she did?
Walking up behind Drew, Felicity gently poked him in the side before snuggling her way under his arm. "So...?"

Drew wasn't a stranger to going to church, so it wasn't such a big deal to sit through mass. It would have probably been easier to just go with his own family-- that way he wouldn't have been under the watchful glare of Mr. Hjort-- but then he wouldn't have been able to spend as much time with Felicity. Granted, she was in the choir and he was in the congregation, but he could still see her. God forgive him, he wasn't very focused on the sermon as he was on his girlfriend.
At the end of the service, Drew stayed close to the Hjorts, wandering only slightly to grab a pastry. He was oblivious of any of the whispering that might have been going on around him, more focused on finding a certain pretty blonde in the gathering crowd. When she snuck up behind him, he jumped but smiled as soon as she got herself close to him.
"Hey! You were really good!" he told her, giving her a quick kiss on the top of her head. He wouldn't have been able to tell anyone if the rest of the group was any good though...

Giggling when she saw his jump, she was quick to just wrap her arms around his midsection. It wasn't long after he was done talking that Ib Hjort noticed the two youngsters entwined before he excused himself politely from the gathered group with whom he was speaking and made his way toward the couple. While he had promised not to kill Andrew, he hadn't promised not to make their lives miserable as much as possible. Seeing them wrapped up, he couldn't stand it, especially not at Church. It made him wonder if he should trust her to go back to his aunt's house, though at least Meadow would be with them, as she was walking with the two back to be sure his aunt was really at home while Felicity visited.
"Felicity," his rough voice warned, eyes blazing at the interaction. Why did they feel the need to be so touchy feely with one another? What was wrong with space? Who really needed to be so close to another that much? It was like they couldn't be separated. In a way, he was disgusted, knowing they were hiding something from him and were so open about being so close to one another.
Rolling her eyes, the blonde dropped her arms from around Drew's body, instead opting to take his hand in hers so she could still be close to him, and her dad couldn't argue too much. He didn't like the ring on her finger, she knew that, but she loved it, and loved the boy that put it there. She had tried to get her dad to like Drew as much as anyone else in her family did, other than Jacob, but it wouldn't work. Whatever prejudices he had were kept, and weren't budging very easily. However, at least Felicity had warned Drew the first time they'd gone swimming together, he was tough.
Turning her attention back to Drew, she smiled up at him, happy to have him at another of her family events. Camping the year before had been fun in her opinion, but this was also something she loved and appreciated, it was the only time she was able to sing. "You thought we dod good?"
She mistook his you for being plural, talking about the whole choir. But she didn't miss any of the looks others were giving them, it only made her wonder a bit since the week before they'd done the same thing, only they were looking even more now. She was pretty sure her Church skirt fit her properly, and she wasn't mismatched, Lindsay made sure of that.

Drew jumped again at the sound of Mr. Hjort's voice. Felicity dropped her hold on him and while he was disappointed, he realised it was probably for the best. Church back home was a bit more casual and while his mother would have given him a look for holding his girlfriend like that, no one else would have cared too much. Then again, he could wear shorts to church back home as well.
Still oblivious to the whisperings, he smiled at her and swung her hand, glad to have even that little bit of contact. "I thought you did good. I'm not sure about anyone else though," he told her, offering her a bite of his donut.

Feeling Drew jump again, she suppressed a giggle for his sake and couldn't help but think about how jumpy he was being that morning. Though, she really didn't mind because she loved feeling him relax afterward. Holding his hand wasn't as good as holding onto him, but she didn't mind because at least she could touch him, have that minimal contact with him in front of her dad. However, even looking at the blue-eyed man, he didn't seem right pleased that they were within ten spaces of one another.
Ib, somewhat satisfied, didn't leave the side of the two, and stood in horror to watch his daughter bite from the offered food from the boy's hand, the chocolate frosted donut now with a bite taken from his daughter's mouth. It was disgusting, how much they were showing in front of everyone, right there. Suddenly his scalding tea didn't seem to bother him anymore as he gulped it down.
Blush taking her cheeks over, Felicity gave a silly smile to Drew, not really believing he didn't listen to anyone else singing. How could have heard her voice alone without the others? No, there weren't a million in that hour's choir, but she was sure her voice wouldn't stand out against the others. Taking a bite from the donut, she giggled nervously, loving the little bit of interaction they had when they could.
"Thank you." Glancing around him at the table of snacks, she started toward it, urging him to join her so she could get a powdered donut before they were all gone. They could mingle in a few minutes. "Come with me?"

Drew grinned as she took a bite and then quickly finished the rest of the donut as she started towards the snack table. If she was going to grab her own pre-breakfast, he was going to have another. He didn't even notice Mr. Hjort's glares... which would probably return to bite him in the butt later.
"We're going to my house later right?" he asked just to make sure. It was actually his aunt's place, but he had been claiming it as a second home since he started at Hogwarts and would probably be living there for at least another year. "You know my aunt will probably want to feed us, right?" Of course, that wasn't going to stop him from getting seconds.

"If it's still all right, then yes, I want to go to your Aunt's," she told him, glancing back over her shoulder at him. But hearing there'd be more food, she grinned at him, but didn't stop on her way to the table for a bite to eat. "You know I had eggs and soldiers this morning before you got to my house, right?"
Even if he didn't know she didn't mind. After all, it was good if she didn't smell or taste like the food she ate, how awkward would that be? Then again, he liked when she tasted chicken once before. And it wasn't very often that she turned down food, in fact it was only when she was upset about something that she didn't want to eat. Weight wasn't an issue on her mind.
"And I'll eat if she makes us something, or if we make something for her..." she told him, sticking her tongue out and grabbing up one of the powdered doughnuts from the platter. "Besides, food is good and I didn't have a whole lot this morning, and I'm just having one doughnut, so I still have plenty of room in my belly." Patting her stomach, she took a bite and grinned at him, powder all over her lips. "And we won't leave for another ten minutes at least, and since we're walking, unless you want mum to drive, I'll burn off all the food I've eaten so far."

"I had some pancakes and bacon," Drew admitted with a cheesy grin. He loved how Felicity wasn't afraid to eat. So many girls stuck to salad and water and it really wasn't much fun eating with them.
As she took a donut he took another as well, slipping a couple of pounds into the donation basket for good measure. He grinned as she bit into her pastry, thinking she looked awfully cute with powder on her mouth and fighting the urge to kiss it off of her.
"You have this all planned out, don't you?" he asked, figuring she didn't need to worry about burning anything off. "I like the walk, but it's not all that close."

Poking him in the belly when he told her he'd eaten too, she figured he wouldn't run on an empty stomach, he only did that when news couldn't wait...and sometimes when he knew she would have food for him. Taking another bite from her doughnut, she wiped her mouth on her sleeve, and danced on spot. Food, like many things, was amazing.
"Best laid plans," she told him with a grin, knowing most plans went haywire anyway. "We can drive, mum won't mind, Harold drove here from work, so I'm sure he'll let her use his truck to take us." Stepping a bit closer, she lowered her voice to just above a whisper. "Besides, we'll have more time to hang out at your Aunt's house then, and I'll finally get to meet her sooner."
Meeting his family was exciting her, making the butterflies in her stomach go crazy because she couldn't wait. Though she was supposed to meet his family last summer, it never happened, and it didn't happen over the winter break either, but this summer, it was going to happen. Nothing could happen to make it not happen, otherwise she'd be extremely upset, and she'd all ready told her dad that she was meeting them and made him promise that even if she was in trouble she'd be allowed to meet them since Drew had known her family for a year and a half and it was only right that she met his family as well.

"Gang aft a-gley," Drew responded with a crooked smile. He still wasn't sure he fully agreed with good ole' Bobby Burns, positive that if it was truely the best plan, it wouldn't go awry. Nonetheless, it was a good thing to remember.
He was a little nervous having her meet his aunt, but he thought it was a good first step towards meeting his parents who had gone to Rome to meet up with a group of other Magical Transportaion specialists about rerouting certain flight paths. Drew pretended he was more bummed than he actually was when he found out they wouldn't meet Felicity this time around.
"I have to warn you though," he told her seriously. "There's not much to do there. She doesn't even have Chutes and Ladders or anything..."

Clapping her hands, and nearly smushing her doughnut in the process, Felicity was glad he understood her reference. It was a pretty common one, but it would've been weird to have to explain it to him. Dancing on spot, because he understood and because he still planned on letting her meet hi Aunt, she took another bite from her doughnut, wiped the powder from her mouth, but didn't realize she had smeared a little on the tip of her nose.
When he gave his warning, Felicity's face brightened. She knew something he didn't, and she couldn't wait to reveal her secret. "No, there may not be anything to do now but when we get there there'll be something to do."
A few passersby heard her, and immediately started in on the gossip again. What a low down little thing she'd become in the last few months, carelessly throwing herself around, constantly touching the boy none of them really knew. How could Ib Hjort of all people allow something like that to take place?
"Come on, we should find Harold and mum and let them know the plan. And we still have to stop back at my house before we go to your Aunt's too."

Again he was tempted to kiss the powder off of her face, but he resisted. The self-restraint only got more difficult when she answered him. Immediately his mind went to certain activites they enjoyed in private, but Drew wasn't sure how private things would be with his Aunt there. The house was decent sized, but it wasn't like they could make out in the living room without her noticing.
Still trying to figure out what she had planned, he followed along after her in search for her mother. Coming face to face with Mrs. Hjort would probably get his mind off of snogging Felicity.

Taking another bite of her doughnut, Felicity's hand gently squeezed Drew's as she kept her eyes out for at least one of two she wanted to find. While she knew both would be fine with the option, she also knew she had to ask permission from both before saying that's officially what they were going to do. Turning back to look at Drew, she realized she hadn't told him why they needed to stop back at her house, but she thought, also, that he might all ready know. After all, she wasn't extremely comfortable.
"We need to stop back at my place because I have to get out of this skirt, I don't much like them and it's the only one I have. And I also have to get something I'm taking to your Aunt's house, too." Actually, she had a couple of something, she had his present, which wasn't quite ready but would be as soon as she got home and her mum helped her a bit, and she had a present for his Aunt as well, for allowing her to spend time with Drew at her home.
Spotting Harold not far ahead of them, Felicity dragged Drew with her toward the former police man, so they could ask about the use of his truck.

Every look she gave him, every squeeze of her hand in his, made him want to kiss her even more. Of course, he couldn't very well liplock her right there in the church courtyard. He wasn't sure when he'd even get the chance, going to her parent's house and then back to his Aunt's.
"I think you look fine," he told her, but he was sure she would rather not have to wear the skirt longer than she had to. He caught sight of Harold just as Felicity started pulling Drew in that direction. "But what do you have to take to my Aunt's house?"

Grinning when he complimented her on how she looked, she gave another gentle squeeze to his hand, wishing she kiss him, but settling for what wouldn't get them in trouble right there. Felicity really didn't care for people complimenting her looks, but when Drew did it, it gave her a different feeling, and she didn't mind so much.
"I made her a platter of biscuits for letting me come over," she told him with a small smile. "Shortbread biscuits. But if you don't think she'll like them, or she can't have them, we have a cheese wheel I can bring over with salted biscuits instead." Not knowing anything about his Aunt really meant she wasn't entirely sure what to take, so she opted to make biscuits, but she also spent some of her tip money just in case. "And I've something for you, too."
The only reason she added the last bit was because they were nearly on top of Harold.
"Harold?" she called to get his attention.
Turning to see his sister-in-law and Drew with her, he gave a lazy smile and held his hand out to shake the young man's in front of him. "How're you doing, Andrew?" he asked pleasantly, having taken a liking to him on their first meeting. And turning back the the young blonde he gave her a questioning look, waiting to see what she wanted.
"Harold, would you mind if mum used your automobile to take me and Drew to the house and then to his Aunt's?"
