"I think she'll like that," Drew answered, pretty confident his aunt would appreciate the gift as well as the thought behind it. It was the next part that took him by surprise, but before he could ask her about it, there were standing in front of Harold.
"I'm doing well, thanks," smiling broadly at the man as he shook the offered hand heartily. He had been given the impression that Harold had done a background check on him a year and a half ago, but the man had never been anything but friendly to Drew's face. Harold felt like an ally in the face of Ib Hjort's animosity.

"Good," Felicity answered with an earnest and bright smile. She had hoped to take something homemade rather than store bought to his Aunt, as it just sounded nicer, but she hadn't been entirely sure and the time she spent with him wasn't really time she wanted to completely waste talking about his Aunt and her medical conditions if she had any. It wasn't that the blonde was being cold-hearted, just that she preferred spending her time talking about things that meant more to her, like Drew, and where things were going. At the moment, the most important topic was his application to the Academy; and after that him not being at Hogwarts anymore.
It gave Felicity a good feeling to know Harold liked Drew, and whenever he wrote her while at school he asked about him and how he was. It wasn't personable, but it was nice that he thought to mention him kindly.
"Sounds like a fine idea," he told her with the slightest of nods. "I imagine it'll be easier to get his present to his Aunt's that way anyway," he added with a wink at the blonde before pulling her into his arms and kissing the top of her head. He had a feeling Felicity wouldn't keep from the older boy she had something for him, though he would've felt terrible if he'd blown it. Then again, it'd been at their home since before she even came home.
"Do you know where mum...?" she started, finding the woman actually making her way to all of them. She had lost weight over the past year, an amount Felicity thought was too much, but she didn't say anything, not even after the conversation she'd heard between her parents one night, something she had yet to share with anyone, even Drew.
"Mum, would you mind driving us home and to Drew's Aunt's? Harold said we could use his truck." A slight smile on the older woman's face with a nod told them their answer, and she'd just found the two of them, hoping to see if they were ready yet as she wasn't feeling very well at the moment.

"You got me something?" he finally got to ask, not exactly sure why. It wasn't like it was Christmas or his birthday and while his parents had given him something for finishing school, he really hadn't expected Felicity too. It was probably something pretty big too, if Harold said the truck would make it easier.
But he barely had a time to start pestering her to tell him what it was. Felicity's mom came up and agreed to drive them. It would have been easy enough for Drew to apparate them both, but he wasn't sure he could do it with this mystery present she had for him.

"Kind of," she answered with a small smile. More or less, her mum got the gift, Felicity just prettied it up. But she loved what she got him, and hoped he love it just as much, though, she hadn't thought about what his Aunt would think of the gift, other than a fleeting one. After all, it'd be in her home while Drew continued to stay with her and Felicity didn't know when he planned on getting his own apartment, or whether he planned on staying where he was until training was over. Then again, it might be nice for him to get an apartment with Hiro or another one of his friends, though Felicity knew if he got one with another girl, she'd be pretty upset with him, even if she knew nothing would happen.
"Are you two ready to go now?" the older woman asked, catching the attention of her daughter after a rather long glance at the young man she was with. "Or did you want to stay a bit longer?" Knowing Felicity, she was ready to leave, she'd been looking forward to meeting his Aunt since the day the plans were made and okayed by everyone.
"I'm ready if Drew is."

Her answer only made him wonder more about what this so called present actually was. How could she have something for him that she hadn't gotten? Why did they need to transport it to his Aunt's house before he got it... and in Harold's truck nonetheless?
"We can go," Drew answered. He wasn't all that anxious to put Felicity through the scrutiny of meeting his family, but his curiousity about this present was winning out. He knew his aunt would be okay and was looking forward to meeting Felicity (not to mention feeling honored to be the first ahead of both Drew's mother and grandmother), but it was still a little nerve-wracking.

"That's fine then, we should find your father and let him know what we're doing then," Meadow told her daughter, glancing up at Drew as well with a smile. She knew the young man and her husband didn't have the greatest track record, but she also knew it was best for Mr. Hjort to be aware of their plans, however, she had all plans on avoiding the clucking hens that kept talking about her daughter and whatever mysterious secrets they could come up with. Felicity was not pregnant, she believed her daughter when she'd been questioned on her relationship with Andrew, and she thought Andrew had nothing but good intentions toward her youngest.
"All right, he was over there," Felicity pointed where she and Drew had last left him, in the midst of a few older woman he knew from their neighborhood who had been trying to get him to help them fix a few things in their home. They were lonely, wanted the company, and knew he was capable of fixing whatever was broken.
Leading both her mum and Drew to the older man, Felicity stepped back to allow her mum to explain, and then her dad stepped forward to say goodbye, giving his wife a long, tender hug, and Felicity one of the same, before turning to Drew with a stern look and holding his hand out to shake.

When Mrs. Hjort looked at him, it always was like he was one of the family. Perhaps not exactly like a son, but maybe like a nephew. It always made Drew feel special, like she had trust in him and confidence that he would do the right thing.
On the other hand, Mr. Hjort's glare gave Drew a totally different feeling. One look from the man was enough to make the Ravenclaw realize her father could probably kill him without any remorse. All he needed, all he was waiting for, was for Drew to make one small mistake so he could have a reasonable cause. The man seemed to know exactly what Drew thought about late at night and was probably convinced Drew was acting on a lot more of those thoughts and feelings than he actually was.
I will rip off any part of your body that touches my daughter, was how Drew read Mr. Hjort's look that morning, and Drew tried to smile back calmly and confidently as he shook the man's offered hand.

Hugging her dad back, sighing happily into him when his arms wrapped around her, Felicity was glad he had seemed to back off a little bit about Drew. No, he didn't like them being near each other yet, he didn't like having him over at the house, and he wasn't pleased about incorporating him into their every Sunday family event, even if it was just the one time, but he had backed off a little bit. Felicity wasn't sure if it was just the promise, or if he was finally realizing just how much she really liked the older boy, but she didn't care as long as he was nice enough. The blonde still hadn't told her parents she thought she was in-love with Drew, they knew she told him she loved him, but she hadn't admitted to them that she was more than sure she was also in-love with him.
Watching Drew and her father shake hands made her really happy, it was almost like a hug between the two. Giving her dad a smile, grateful for the good attitude, Felicity grabbed back a hold of Drew's hand, squeezing gently to show that she was proud of both of them. Drew didn't ever do anything but in her mind the tension wasn't there, even if it really was.
"Let's go, I can't wait for you to get your present," she told Drew with a big smile. It was something she had been excited about since her mum wrote her of the news and Felicity begged her mum, and she was able to get Drew exactly what she thought was the most perfect gift she could ever get him. He had told her ages ago that he wanted one, had thought about it, and Felicity thought the timing was perfect for such a gift. Then again, she still hadn't thought much about his Aunt's thoughts on the perfect gift.
Leading the way to Harold's truck, Felicity climbed inside, leaving the passenger's seat for her boyfriend, or room in back with her, while her mum situated herself in the driver's seat.

"Do I get a hint?" he asked, curious about what it might be as she pulled him towards Harold's truck. He opened the front passenger door for her and was surprised when she climbed into the backseat. He wasn't sure what to do, feeling a little awkward at the situation. His place was in the back, but he wasn't sure how Mrs. Hjort felt about being in the front seat alone with the two of them behind. Drew knew his own mother hated it and while she didn't drive often, she said it made her feel like the chauffer.
Drew didn't want Mrs. Hjort to think he didn't want to sit with her, but he didn't want her to think he was putting Felicity in the back seat either. "You're going to sit in back?" he asked, scratching the back of his neck nervously, not exactly what to do.

"It's something you told me you wanted," she told him with a wink, giving him another big smile. Felicity knew her mum wouldn't say what it was, even if she was the one who had gotten, because Felicity had told her how secretive she wanted this to be for the young man. While she didn't know what his reaction would be, she hoped he would like it and wouldn't mind her giving it to him.
:Mmhmm," she hummed, not sure what his concern was about, but by his actions she knew something wasn't right. Leaning toward him, she tugged lightly on his sleeve, trying to figure out what was wrong. Going over everything in her mind she couldn't think of what she might've done wrong. All they'd done was walk to the automobile and he asked about his gift, why did he sound so putout by her sitting where she'd taken a seat? There was still room in back for him as well.
"You can sit wherever you want, dear," Meadow told him, turning with a smile to her daughter's boyfriend. If they were going to get going, so the two had more time together, they should be on their way.

Taking the tug to mean that he was supposed to sit in the back with Felicity, he slid in next to the freckle-faced blonde. Mrs. Hjort probably didn't feel the same about sitting alone in the front as his mom did, but it still felt strange to him. Of course, this way, he got to sit next to Felicity, so it was something he was sure he could get over.
"Thanks for driving us," Drew told Mrs. Hjort as he buckled his seatbelt. He had walked the distance between the two houses at least a dozen times, but it was still a couple of miles and probably easier to drive it especially with whatever this present was. "And thanks for letting Felicity come over." He paused just long enough to turn to the girl next to him and smile at her. "My aunt's really looking forward to meeting you."

Happy that Drew decided to sit next to her, Felicity immediately wrapped her arms around his midsection, only releasing him long enough to buckle before attacking him again with a hug. She knew her mum didn't mind so much about her being all over the boy, in fact, there were only a few times she'd given her daughter the look that meant it was time to back away a little. Usually, her mum was merely making sure she wasn't caught by her dad being so touchy with her boyfriend.
"Yes, thank you mum," Felicity called from the back seat after Drew had been polite, as always. Looking up when he turned to her, Felicity fell in love with the smile he gave her. Her nerves were going mad about the aspect of meeting someone else in his family beside his sister or cousin, but she couldn't wait. "I'm looking forward to meeting her as well."
It was a step closer to his parents and his grandmum.
"It's all right dears, I don't mind. It will make it quicker going anyway," she answered the two, pulling into the street spot by the Hjort home. "Come on Felicity, you need to change and we need to grab up the packages. Drew, if you wouldn't mind just waiting in here, we'll return in a moment's time." It would make it easier to get the present fully wrapped and everything set. Plus, it only took Felicity a minute to change into something.
As soon as her mum stepped out of the truck, Felicity leaned over and gave a small kiss on his lips before sliding out and following her mum inside.

Drew gave a low, nervous giggle as Felicity put her arms around him. He knew Mrs. Hjort wouldn't get angry, much less tell Mr. Hjort, but still the boy couldn't help but think of how Felicity's mother had caught him snogging her in the kitchen the previous summer. She hadn't gotten mad then either, but she hadn't been very happy about it either.
They pulled up to the house and again Drew felt a little awkward jsut waiting in the truck while they ran inside. He didn't think they'd be too long, but it was still something he wasn't used to doing. "Do you need me to help with anything?" he offered, though he doubted they would. It wasn't like he would be asked to carry his own present and the gift for his aunt wouldn't cause much difficulty either.

"No, you need to stay!" Felicity told him excitedly. There was still the need to place his gift in the box she had for it, and she couldn't wait for him to open it, so she could watch his face light up, and hopefully the smile on his face grow huge when he saw it. It was so amazingly perfect, Felicity couldn't believe her luck on the chance to get it when her mum did. There were a number of people to thank for the perfect gift, her mum for getting it and her dad for all of his help, even he knew it was a secret. The times Drew had been to their home that summer had been painful in hiding the gift, but it worked well enough.
Running inside, Felicity tore up the stairs while her mum checked on the box she had charmed for her daughter's gift. Flying into her room, the blonde immediately donned a pair of worn jeans that fit almost too perfectly on her hips, something her dad would make her change out of if he saw her, which was cause for her to tear her closet apart to find a zipper hoodie to take with her so when she returned her dad mightn't see her jeans too well, and then slipped a cerulean-coloured tank top over her head, ran to the bathroom to give her teeth a brush and go through her hair once before she dashed upstairs to grab the present, only to return to her room to grab her sweater before running downstairs to her mum who had insisted the blonde pack everything the night before except for the big present, which was placed in the box her mum had charmed. Everything else sat in a separate box, and her gift for his Aunt was on a platter sitting at the counter.
Grabbing the big present and the little accompanying box, her mum picked up the platter and they returned to the truck where Felicity tapped on the door lightly to get Drew to open it for her, her hands full and unable to do so for herself.

"Okay," Drew answered, slightly disappointed all he could do was sit and wait. As the two Hjort women went into the house, Drew sat back in the seat and took in the neighborhood. There wasn't much to see. Things were pretty quite Sunday mornings.
With nothing else to do, he spent the next few minutes just thinking. He sincerely hoped things would go well with the meeting between Felicity and his aunt. He didn't forsee any problems, but he still couldn't help but worry. This was the first time she'd meet any of his family and he really wanted them to get along. Aunt Abigail was sure to report back to both his mother and his grandmother.
A tap on the window brought him out of his thoughts and he jumped a little before smiling and throwing the door open for Felicity and her mom. "Can I help?" he asked again, thinking the present looked pretty big. All he knew was he wouldn't say something stupid like he had on his birthday, even if he didn't think he deserved whatever she had given him.
