The look she was given wasn't really all that pleasant, and to be completely honest, she didn't like it. And his tone when she spoke didn't make her feel any more at ease, either. Hiro had told her Meg was his sister, so that was that, wasn't it? Or had she been mistaken and Meg was his cousin and wasn't the one throwing the party like she assumed? But if that were the case then Drew wouldn't have told her she was correct, he didn't have a problem telling her when she was wrong about something, she knew that.
However, she really didn't like how he sounded or that look on his face. Lowering her gaze, she pulled her hand from his as quickly as she could and took a few steps back, wrapping her arms around herself. Maybe, as many times before, she shouldn't have attended. It'd all ready been pointed out by herself that she and Drew didn't do well in group settings, and now with lying to her parents on top of it, perhaps she should've just stayed home. Besides, it wasn't like Hiro was really her friend anyway, he was Drew's friend and just being nice to her by inviting her along.
Maybe she should just go, and ruin yet another party where Hiro and Charlie were. Would it surprise them by this point?

"Hey, well, it's good to see the lot of you again," Meg said, greeting those she knew well more personally. There seemed to be a bit of an argument brewing between Drew and the only person there she didn't at least vaguely recognize, Felicity, was it? She should probably try to squelch that before it got bigger.
"You're both right, by the way," she said. "It's complicated. But yeah, Hiro's da and my mother are brother and sister. But technically Connor--that's Hiro's dad--legally adopted me a couple of years ago. So I guess that makes us brother and sister too. Told you it was complicated...
"Anyway, no more boring family history," she insisted, especially because she would rather not get into anything dealing with her uncle. The two didn't exactly get along. "Back there is a secure room, only Hiro's guests can get in, so you can leave things there if you want without fear of their getting stolen. Also there are a couple sound charms on it, so it'll be quieter in there if you need it. And...welcome!"

Allegra was running late, but dared not rush. People who rushed got distracted and people who got distracted, especially in Knockturn, got hurt. She hadn't been down this street in years, which actually added to her nervousness. Why had Hiro wanted his party at Wicked Times, of all places? Why hadn't she taken Drew up on his offer to walk with him and Felicity?
She heard voices ahead, tones she recognized, and quickened her pace just a little. As she saw the others, she smiled and actually skipped the last few steps, feeling better that there were people around she knew she could trust.
"Hey you guys!" she called out cheerfully, unaware of any tension that may ahve been there. She was just happy to see that Kellen had made it... and the others of course. "Happy Birthday, Hiro!"

Kellen was both happy and relieved when Allegra arrived. He'd been vaguely worried that she was walking in Knockturn by herself at night, but knew she could take care of herself. His main cause for relief was a more selfish one--now he wasn't the only out-of-school 'adult' there.
"Hey, glad you could make it," he said, a greeting usually reserved for the host of the party. He was sure Meg wouldn't mind, however; he remembered the girl from school, though not well, but she didn't seem like the type who was all for formality anyway. Besides, he was glad Allegra could make it.

Why'd his family tree have to be so complicated? He hardly knew most of them anyway. Guess that's what he got for having international parents.
Of course Drew would have introduced Meg as his cousin, he had known her for about a year before Hiro transferred into Hogwarts. He hadn't explained the whole situation to Felicity and so there was room for confusion. Fortunately Meg took care of that situation and moved the conversation away from their mixed up family. Hiro would be all too happy if the whole family tree was buried for the rest of the night.
And now another situation had fixed itself without his help. Allegra had shown up to the party which meant that all his guests had arrived.
"Thanks Allegra!" He said as Kellen took his response. "Allegra this is Meg." He wasn't sure how well the two had known each other in school so he introduced them to make sure.

Drew frowned when Felicity pulled her hand out of his. He wasn't happy, but he wasn't mad about it either. He just wished she'd trust he knew what he was talking about. Even if he had been wrong, couldn't she tell him better than a blunt you're wrong? Seriously, who liked to hear that? He wanted to talk to her about it, but this wasn't the place and now she had pulled away. He shoved his now empty hand in his pocket, not sure what else to do with it. He'd try to offer it to her again in a little bit. And if she wanted to leave... he'd walk her home.
The arrival of his own sister seemed to alieviate the awkwardness a little and Drew made a face at Allegra, his own loving greeting just for her.

Being blunt was how felicity was. There was no other way around it, she did best when she was being blunt, it was how Drew understood her most of the time it seemed. Saying anything in a roundabout way just got her in trouble, besides, as far as she knew, he was wrong. At least until the girl Felicity didn't know continued on with a little bit of their family history. So they were cousins, and siblings. Well, either way she still hadn't liked the look Drew had given her, though she made note to apologize to him later. Was it her fault she only knew they were siblings? That's what Hiro had told her, and no one else had said anything to her, so how was she supposed to know?
With a quick smile in Allegra's direction, but one that was swept away quickly after, Felicity lowered her gaze once more. She didn't really know the older Thornton, but she could be at least somewhat polite to her, the few times she and Felicity had spoken, she'd liked the girl.

Meg remembered Allegra, though she hadn't know the older girl well during her time at school. "Well, if this is everyone," she said, looking to Hiro for a cue whether they were waiting on anybody else, "the I guess we can get this party started. To use a very cliche phrase."
She ran over to Carlos, the rocking-out, eyepatch-wearing ghost DJ at Wicked Times and put in a song request. She'd arranged it so that he'd take requests from the birthday party group above anybody else that night, but first things first. Some years earlier, the Weird Sisters had covered a song from some Muggle film called "Very Merry Un-Birthday," and while Meg wasn't necessarily a big WS fan it was totally appropriate for the situation. Especially considering that Hiro's birthday was actually in February.

Introductions made, and a subtle something or other passing between the former Head boy and Head girl, it seemed as if the party had started. They were given the offical word to go on inside, and Drew looked over at Felicity, offering a small smile as he held his hand back out to her. He knew she wasn't happy with him, probably about how he had reacted to her accusation, but he hoped she'd still go inside with him.

When Meg said they were good to enter, Felicity glanced up at Drew just in time to see the trying smile. Why did he have to smile? When he smiled she couldn't be mad at him, and she was pretty sure he knew that. However, she didn't want to see his smile right then. While she knew she had to apologize, she wasn't ready to do it right then.
As the Ravenclaw held his hand out to her, Felicity cast her gaze down once more and tightened her arms around herself. No, she wasn't taking his hand. She would go in until she was required to go home, but she wasn't going to hold his hand. Not right at that moment.
Walking past Drew, with her head down so she wouldn't see that disappointment or anger on his face that she was sure he'd portray, the blonde entered inside to see what her first club looked like.
