Cadence looked up and down Diagon Alley then hurried down the dark looking alley, a sign nearby told him it was Knockturn Alley. His Grandpa has warned him about this place, it sounded very pleasant in his mind. It sounded like he could buy the stuff he thought he could when he had first found out he was a wizard. He glanced around the shops as he walked down and grinned.
As he walked deeper into the ally he couldn’t help but notice that he was one of the only kids in this entire place. A tingle crept up his neck. He shivered a shiver that had nothing to do with the constant shadow the alley seemed to be under. Avoiding the unfriendly glare of an odd looking thing - what was it? Goblin? Troll? Didn’t matter. – he walked into a shop. After looking at the various items and deciding that they were to expensive for him he left, five minutes after that he left Knockturn Alley, or began to.
About a quarter to the entrance he nearly ran into somebody and had to stop himself from falling. But as he did so, out of habbit mainly, slipped a hand into the persons cloak pocket and pulled out a sickle. It was so quick he barely touched the fabric, and it looked only like he had thrown a hand out to catch himself, which he had done to begin with. But he was unable to catch himself and was content to just slip the sickle up his sleeve as he feel on his face.
He groaned lightly and pushed himself to his feet, brushing dirt from his clothes, he turned to see the person who had caused him to trip…and given him a sickle.

((Hope it's open))
Lauren, who knew she'd be a wanderer this summer, found herself in Diagon Alley, well now she was in Knockturn Alley, this week. She had not yet been there, maybe something would catch her interest. Something that could entertain her those late nights in the castle.
Turning around she saw a boy fall, seeing his slight of hand. She rolled her eyes, yet very clever. Too bad he couldn't have run into a richer man, though. Maybe he could've gotten a bag of galleons.
"Hey, I saw that," Lauren said in a voice full of authority. She really didn't care, good for the boy. But it was fun to kid aorund with kids, obviously younger than her.

With just as much power in his voice he answered, "You tripped me. That’s the tripping cost." He grinned and offered his hand to shake, also offering out the sickle he stole. "You have a good eye.” He would not be in intimidated in anyway, even if they were older. That was one of the things he had learned when he was alone. This girl was trying to frighten him, he liked her, and so he offered back the sickle without any protest what so ever. As he waited for her to shake or just take back the coin he said, “Cadence Beiton, pleasure.”

Lauren smirked slightly. Good boy, knows his place. Lauren shook her head.
"Keep it, I got tons of 'em. Unless I find something I want in this rat hole, you'll be giving it back," Lauren said. Cadence Beiton, he introduced himself. Sounds french, she thought carelessly to herself. Taking his hand, she shook it.
"Lauren Stone. You look a bit young, no offense. What year are you in?" She asked, only assuming he was going to Hogwarts.

Caden laughed and shrugged as he dropped the coin back in his pocket. I have plenty too. She seemed pleasant enough. "It will be my first year," He answered.
"What year will you be when school starts up again?" He asked. They were separated for a second as a fowl smelling man walked in-between them, muttering something about dragons, then he was gone and Cadence was looking at Lauren again.

I'm so smart, she told herself. He didn't look much older than a second year. He still had his baby features on him.
"Well, assuming I passed my previous year, which I better have or I'm dead, I'll be a Fourth Year come fall," Lauren squeezed in, before Cadence's attention quickly drifted to the man who barged between the two. She couldn't blame him, the whole place smelled bad, and the man definately could've walked another way around. But, who were they kidding, Knockturn Alley wasn't known for it's polite shopkeepers or it's shoppers.
Lauren let a soft laugh pass her lips as she caught ear of his mutterings.

“Well, I’m sure you passed. You seem smart enough.” He said and looked her up and down, not in a rude way though. “Fourth Year, eh? Sounds fun. By now, if you’ve been good, you have the teachers trust enough to slip past the their guard, and your old enough to be out of the radar of the older students and old enough to bully the younger ones effectively.” He was just spitting out any bull that sounded good for fun. “Am I close? Or is Hogwarts about the complete opposite from my speculations?”

Lauren shrugged her shoulders. "Eh, not too much. Of course, everyone has a bully. I never really had to deal with that, except for Reina. If you end up a Slytherin, especially, beware. She hates new comers. I hear she's okay if you get on her good side, I never really got on a specific side of hers, and I'm okay with that." Lauren explained.
"I love picking on the little ones, they look so scared. You seem tough enough though. Stick around the right people, you'll create a name for yourself in no time. It's not as big of a school as it seems."

Cadence put a very thoughtful expression on his face and said, “Mmm…I think I’ll get on her bad side, sounds like fun.” He grinned and laughed before saying, “Thanks for the tip.”
“Yes, I know what you mean. Back home one of my favorite past times was to ‘play’ with the little ones.” He smirked fondly. “They would get so terrified.” He looked about the alley. “So, just exploring down here? Or is there a particular item you came for? You don’t have to tell me what, the looks of this place would suggest that many wouldn’t want people to know what they were buying.”

Lauren laughed slightly, picturing him picking on little ones, when he himself was not very big. Yet, she kept her comments to herself, she knew there were much littler ones than Candence.
Lauren scanned the alley, she hadn't come here for anything in particular. "Well, me, I'm an open book. It's a flaw of mine, but I deal with it. Even so, I'd just never been here before. Thinking of starting a new hobby, what, I don't know," she explained. "You?"

He shrugged and looked at the items in display in a nearby window as he said, "I'm just exploring. I have to say, most of the stuff I've seen down here that was worth buying was quiet expensive." He looked back at her and grinned, “Some wicked cool stuff in some of the shops, though I don’t doubt at least half of it would get you in trouble at Hogwarts.” (Sorry for the lameness, can’t think of anything to post.)

(('tis ok))
Lauren shrugged. "It only get's you in trouble if you get caught. And the smart ones don't get caught, right?" Lauren said with a smirk. "Besides Slytherin's Head of House is a bum, only seen him once around and alive, and that was when he meeting a transfer. Never bothered coming to me when I transfered, lazy no good-" Lauren stopped herself.
"But anyway, I say get what you want. ou find use of it at some point. Even if you get in trouble for it, if you like it enough to buy it down here, you'll think it was worth it. Or atleast that's what my step-mom says."
