Luci bustled down the hallways with a stack of files in her arms. She most certainly didn't think she was going to send the folders and papers in the usual way, through the air. Somehow, she thought all of her papers were far too important to deliver that way and should they go to the wrong person or someone else intercept them, she would never forgive herself - or at least always be even more wary. So, eliminating that mishap, she walked quickly towards the first office she was to visit.
The handwriting on the front of the folder directed it to Flewby, Jones. She pursed her lips, trying to remember where his office was and she gaped, remembering all of a sudden where she was supposed to be going. His cubicle was in an obscure area and she had to twist and turn down a few hallways to get there, but it was a short trip and she casually knocked on the old man's door.
He was little and white with horn rimmed glasses, a smile with crinkles on the edges decorating his aged, but intelligent face. He beckoned her in and Lucia produced the file with a flourish and a grin, exchanging small talk with the old man. He was so kind and enjoyed having company. It seemed that he didn't get too many visitors in this part of the ministry and this is what made Lucia's personal deliveries so much better. She didn't enjoy the impersonal qualities of sending papers flying through the air - she much preferred to go herself.
Unfortunately, she couldn't really stay that much longer. She had two folders to deliver still and more papers on her desk that needed filling out. Bidding him a farewell, Lucia scampered out of the office and looked to the next name on the list with a gulp. Frowning softly, she did not like this name. McPherson, Darby. He was a mean old codger and definetely not someone she liked dealing with. He was old enough to be her great grandfather and thought he knew everything there was to know in the natural world. Plus, he was downright nasty. She slowly strolled through the halls towards his office, nervous fingering the edge of the file.
She chewed on her lip as she approached the door and took a deep breath before gently knocking on the door, wincing as his harsh voice beckoned her to do her business and then leave. She poked her head in the cubicle and held out the folder. McPherson grabbed it roughly from her hands and growled something at her (she couldn't quite decipher what it was that he did say), waving at her to remove herself. Glad to oblige, Lu quickly pulled herself from the office and was almost afraid to look at the next file. However, she knew she needed to - and if it was another painfully mean delivery, she could always just slip it under the door....
Spinnerfold, Gavin. Lu's head tilted to the side and she smiled - excellent. He wasn't mean at all - quite the contrary! He was polite and charming, not something one saw in men these days. She was glad it was him and not someone like McPherson. She shivered at the thought of having to deal with someone like him again - it made her so tense and nervous! People really did need to chill out and be a little nicer. Perhaps things in the world wouldn't be going so badly if everyone was a little nicer. She sniffed in disgust at the notion of people being so nasty and continued along through the hallways, approaching Gavin's portion of office space.
When she reached the office, she readjusted her pink blouse and black, knee-length skirt. Pursing her lips, she took a deep breath and settled herself with a small gesture of her hands before she lifted her hand to knock. After a moment, she slowly opened the door and poked her head in, a bright smile on her cheerful face, "'Ello," she drawled in her charming, albeit fading, Italian accent. "I have something for you," she produced the file with a grin, holding it out to him, a meager file, but a file nonetheless.
