In Apollo's opinion the manor was vast, extravagant and amazingly tacky unfortunately along with these opinions the manor was also getting smaller to the 45 year old ex-Death Eater. he had started to hate the corridors and most of all he hated his quarters having taken a room in the manor for a known ex-Death Eater wasn't welcome in town or for that matter most of England.; but Cross manor and it's protections sufficed for the moment and were much closer to where he was needed than his preferred home in the Gobi desert where the sun was hot and the sands unforgiving. Yet that was merely wishful thinking to the man while he walked down a main corridor to reach a sitting room where he typically had tea secretly hoping that for once Shaw would have something for him to do other than sit and rot. Nevertheless that time never seemed to come. So there he decided to sit in an overstuffed chair while his personal elf, Cravis, which he had inherited with the passing of his parents, made master's tea.
Air whooshed out of his lungs as he exhaled and breathed deeply to relax; as he always did in Cross manor, despite the cold temperatures (to him), he wore short sleeved robes to reveal the blemished mark on his left arm. He was among comrades now, no need to hide who he truly was. The ageing elf brought him his tea carried on a silver tray as Apollo nodded the stooping elf poured the tea for is master and bowed retreating to a corner of the room. "Perhaps the only sanity left to me." He muttered as he took his cup and took a sip of the scalding bitter liquid.

Megara hadn't had much to do yet with the Deva organization. She'd been a cocky teenaged Eleven and was more interested in rebelling than the actual Deva cause. Still, she'd been recruited the way many young witches and wizards were, and was more receptive than many of her peers. That said, she hadn't done all that much yet.
She was eager to prove her usefulness and willingness, so when one of the higher-up members of the secret organization (not to mention, one of her bosses at Wicked Times) had asked her to go to Cross Manor, go through some mildly-secured materials, and bring them back, Meg had more or less jumped at the chance. She'd never been to their headquarters before, and was just dying for a look around. It was like being let in to the club.
She hadn't known whether or not anyone else was going to be there, but wasn't entirely shocked to find an elderly house elf carrying a tray of some sort. She decided to follow it and see who was waiting for the tea it was bringing.
The man at the end of the journey was one with whom Meg was unfamiliar, but if he was there, he must be on their side. "Excuse me," she said, announcing her presence in the room. "Hello. D'you have any idea where the second office in this place is?"

Apollo took another sip of the bitter liquid, he let it trail down his throat burning all the way down. He sighed again, as he set the cup own on the table so he could resume a book he had started in his confinement yet he paused as he reached for the book hearing a different rhythm in the manor. "Excuse me, Hello. D'you have any idea where the second office in this place is?" was indeed called from behind him. He smiled and he quickly rose to his feet, his hands handing idly at his side giving him a somewhat proper look adding to his aire of pride. “Good Afternoon.” He quickly glanced the slender figure’s left hand and continued "Miss….?”

As the man rose, Meg quickly assessed of him what she could. He had a mannered air about him; likely he was or at least at some point had been rather well-off. Late forties, by the looks of it. And of course, how could she miss the Dark Mark on his left arm? Clearly, he was one of the originals.
She, of course, had been far too young during the war to really take any part of it. In fact, her parents had kept her and her brother quite isolated from it all, to the point where the Dark Mark and Death Eaters were little but stories to her, and likely exaggerated ones at that.
"Candlebright," she said matter-of-factly. She didn't pick up his friendly tone, but she wasn't cold, either. She opted to remain neutral. "Megara Candlebright. And yours?"

He voice was amazingly controlled for one so young he thought to himself quickly as he responded "Apollo Schmidt." supplied her continuing with his somewhat freindly tone. To be honest he was starved for company, but he didn't let his guard down and did not fail b any means to notice her glimpse of his mark. names had a particular power, the ability to catch attention, identification even through discuise or even lineage. "Perhaps, Miss Candlebright, I could interest you in a cup of tea?" He asked her carefullyletting his left hand indicate the tray off to the side of him. He hoped for some news or interesting small talk, he hadn't forgotten her original question which he had left unanswered; he just didn't want to share that information jsut yet.

Megara very seriously considered turning down the offer. She was on an errand, after all, and beyond that she wasn't in the habit of accepting drinks from people she didn't know. However, it was clear he had just been drinking the same tea himself, and it wasn't as though she was in a huge hurry anyway. Besides, making connections with others was just as important as a task like this, if not more so.
"Thank you, Mr Schmidt," she said politely as she stepped into the room and sat down in a seat across from his. "Tea would be great."

Apollo was well versed in etiquette from his youth having had rich parents with high expectations, thus he remained standing until Miss Candlebright had taken her own seat. He then quickly snapped his fingers, and the older house elf snapped into action brining another cup in almost an instant. The same elf poured her a cup of tea and offered sugar and cream. Apollo himself had taken his own seat back sitting with a straight back against the cushioned armchair. He kept his polite smile of interest after all he was indeed interested in his company, what proper host wasn’t? “Please, call me Apollo, everyone does.” He told her in his low tones. “Perhaps you could remind me why you came here Miss Candlebright? I’m afraid I have forgotten.” A lie but a small one, his green eyes were sharp and he was indeed taking in every detail that he could.

Meg took a bit of sugar in her tea, but barely enough to be noticeable. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy excess; she simply didn't like sweet tea. Stirring the grains of sugar in slowly, she contemplated her answer for a moment. "I'm here on an errand for my boss, actually," she explained just before blowing on the too-hot tea. She took a small sip; she'd have to wait a moment before her next one. "I'm to get something from the secondary office and bring it back to Wicked Times for her. Oh, and if you're to be Apollo, I suppose I should be Megara. Miss Candlebright sounds too sterile to me, to be honest."

Apollo took another sip of the cooling but still bitter liquid and gave a polite nod of interest. "Megara." He muttered after she told him to be more informal in an attempt to commit the name to memory. Names weren't his strength but he was better at remembering that most. "The second office, hmmmm." He thought for a second then continued. "I believe it is down the hall to your left, which you will need to take to the end, then you will need to take a right and climb two flights of stairs after that you will need to go to the left again and I am almost positive it would be the third door on the left." He told her this knowledge knowing very well himself, that any way he presented this information it would most likely confuse or lose his company.

Meg raised a skeptical eyebrow, but quickly hid it. Physical, how-to-get-from-here-to-there directions weren't really her forte, but that was hardly this man's fault. She'd try to get it figured out. She thanked him and took another sip of her tea.
"Another question for you, though. Are you the only person here? I mean, if we've got this huge space...what are we using it for?"

Apollo smiled knowing that the directions must have bounced off of her head without being absorbed or memorized he had to admit it would have taken quite the clever mind to have remembered such a set of directions delivered at such a fast pace. He finished his cup of tea and he replaced the cup on the silver serving tray with the soft tink of metal against metal. The elf in the corner remained still just as the armor around the sitting room they occupied. Oh so tacky and ineffective, the grand architecture of the manor was indeed meant to intimidate and flaunt wealth but it, in Apollo’s opinion, failed to present grandeur and presented instead an astounding lack of individuality.
“That is a question I have asked myself several times and to be honest there is no set or powerful answer, for me this is a safe haven where I can sit without Aurors bashing in the door. As you can see I was one of the Dark Lord’s subjects and that makes me a… commodity with the ministry. Other than security and safety this place is a complete waste of resources.” He had deliberately dodged her question; he wanted to see if she was quick or clever enough to pick up on his deliberate rant, and if she did what would she do about it?
