Finn had Disappareted the second he was out of the Ministry. He’d appeared out of thin air just outside the visitor’s entrance of St. Mungo’s. In the window, he tried his best to fix his hair and make it lie somewhat flat but there was no controlling it. With a sigh, he went into the hospital anyways. Checking his watch, it was only a few minutes before Keagan’s lunch break. He had an hour or so to spend on his lunch break and figured he might as well pop in to see his girlfriend. He’d barely seen her since she started training and now had even less time because he had started Auror training now as well. However, he was hoping a surprise visit would make him feel better about being so distant from her. Finn didn’t like being distant from Keagan; he was so in love with her, even though she refused to hear him say it. He knew it was hard for her to say it back, so Finn never pushed her for it. The Auror-in-training knew she did love him, so it didn’t matter if she said it or not.
Reaching her floor, Finn looked around him. There were lots of other Healers around, all leaving for their lunch breaks but no sign of Keag. On his tip toes, Finn glanced over the heads of everyone else, searching for the beautiful blond he so desperate wanted to see. He wondered if maybe she was extra busy today and wasn’t even going to take a lunch, but hoped that wasn’t the case. Finn knew Keagan was going to make a great Healer, but he thought maybe she pushed it a little too hard. She worked a lot, but he supposed training required a lot of hours logged. Still, he didn’t like seeing her stressed. Maybe his sudden visit would cheer her up too.

Keagan, hair held messily at the back of her head in a bun by a pair of simple hair sticks, walked briskly through the hospital hallway. Her eyes were cast downward upon a clipboard she held in her hands, and yet she moved confidently. This may seem like quite a feat for the notoriously clumsy young woman, but age had allowed her a little grace. Besides, she walked this hallway several times daily, and was quickly growing accustomed to being able to notice and identify the presence of people through other senses as well as by sight in the course of learning to multi-task quite heavily.
It was only a matter of course that such skills would carry over somewhat into other aspects of the young Healing student. Thus, it came as no surprise that when Keagan looked around after noting a strange presence in the corridor (strange being neither patient, family of a patient, or fellow hospital personnel), she quickly caught a glimpse of a most welcome sight.
Making her way to the other side of the hall, careful not to disrupt traffic, Keagan desperately tried to retain control of her excitement, but managed only to limit it to a bright smile. "What a pleasant surprise!" the girl exclaimed when she finally stood in front of her long time boyfriend, Finnegan Kendrick. Stretching only slightly due to the high heels she wore on her feet, Keagan placed the hand not holding the clipboard on the back of Finn's neck and placed a solid yet gentle kiss on his lips. "What brings you to this fine medical establishment, Pillow?"

Finn nearly leapt clean out of his skin at the sudden voice when Keagan popped up in front of him. He yelped and then chuckled softly at the sight of her, feeling her hand on his neck as she kissed him in that way he loved so much. Her kisses were gentle, yet still managed to be so passionate. Just another one of the many things Finn loved about his girlfriend.
When she used his silly old nickname, Finn chuckled again and rolled his eyes at her. “Well, you see, Doc,” Finn began, as if explaining his ailment to a doctor, “I’ve got this pain right here.” He pointed to his chest where his heart was, still smiling at Keagan. But then he leaned down slightly and kissed her softly on the lips again with a satisfied “Mmm”. “But that seems to make it feel better,” he continued. Finn laughed to himself about his own silly joke, then snaked his arm around Keag’s waist, and pulled her closer to him. He kissed the side of her head again.
“I just missed you,” he finally answered truthfully. It had been a while since they’d spent a lot of time really together. Mostly their visits were things like this when one of them showed up to the other’s work or place. It wasn’t like school where they just saw each other every day and Finn really missed that. “I was hoping we could do lunch, if you’re not too busy. I’ve got an hour,” he suggested.

The 18 year old grinned up at her boyfriend. "Well, you seem to have an appropriate treatment all figured out, so I reckon you won't be needing a consultation to clear your condition up," she replied in jest. Flexing her hand behind his head, Keagan ruffled Finn's hair playfully, and when he pulled her close, she stretched again to kiss him on the cheek and hug him tightly with her free arm.
"I missed you, too," she replied, smiling slightly into his shoulder, planting another kiss on the top of it. Working in the real world, especially with training, was a much bigger commitment than Keagan had anticipated; sometimes it seemed like she never saw Finn, though both of them worked to make some time to nourish the relationship in their busy schedules. Still, they were always a bit strained for time, and that strain lent itself to the state of matters between the pair, as well.
"Lunch? I can do lunch. We'll have to keep an eye on the clock, though. I need to be back in about an hour, too. Tops."

"Then an hour it is," answered Finn with a smile. Even spending an hour with Keagan made him happy. It was better than no time at all and it was plenty of time to catch up, check in on each other and make plans for another rendezvous. Happily, Finn walked next to his girlfriend, his Ministry robes billowing behind them. His stomach growled hungrily and his hand instinctively began rubbing it as though he was trying to calm it down.
"Where to, then?" Finn asked her, "Out for something, or gross cafeteria food?" He nudged her playfully with his elbow at his second suggestion. It was a widely known fact that hospital food was indeed disgusting in the Muggle world. However, Finn had never actually eaten in St. Mungo's cafeteria so he wasn't sure if this hospital fell into the stereotype or not. "I could really do with some chips," he thought aloud.

"Well, of course we're going to go out. Not that the cafeteria serves gross food, but it serves the same things daily. A change of pace is rather nice, like you popping in on me." Keagan turned her face up toward Finn as she walked and gave him a large grin, her pearly whites shining at their best and brightest. She glanced down at the clipboard again, as if to check on something one last time, then shifted the board to the other hand and tucked it against her hip.
"Chips? We can find you some chips...if you mean french fries, that is. I reckon we could find you some other types of chips, too, if you really wanted them. Just let me get these things stowed away first?" The intern tugged at her lab coat and shook the clipboard for emphasis. "I'll be right back, love."
With that, Keagan placed a peck on Finn's cheek and disappeared, but only for a few moments. She was a rather quick girl, for sure.
