[ Physical Character Description: ] The 6 foot-tall man has the looks of an athlete and the behaviour of a rebel. Chad’s got a fairly fit body from just working out and playing Quidditch for almost all of his life. His skin is fairly tanned from living in the California sun until just recently when he moved to England. Chad is a fairly big guy, weighing 172lbs, and wearing size 12 shoes. Looks aren’t really all that important to Chad, so he his clothing style is pretty much whatever. He’s not really “materialistic” so to say, but he does favour the places like American Eagle and Hollister, only because his parents had a lot of money and can afford it. Otherwise, he just wouldn’t care. Chad likes the trucker hats and usually has one of those on his head. He even has one that says “Jesus is my homeboy”, but that one stays on the rack in his closet most of the time.
A shaved head is easiest to work with, so that’s what Chad has. He doesn’t like having to worry about his hair so he shaved it all off, found out it looked good and kept it that way. Sometimes he lets it grow back just a little, but not enough to have to do anything with it. If he wants it spiked, it’ll just do that by itself with a little bit of water. The shaved head also helps with the badass image, or so Chad likes to think. He really cares what people think of it and takes it to heart, even though he doesn’t give a crap about anything else. When he gets lazy and let’s his hair grow, he’s also got a bit of facial hair. Day-old stubble beard and goatee thing going on, but that’s usually gone quite quickly.
Chad Embers has bluey/green eyes. No matter what kind of lie is coming out of his mouth, Chad’s blue eyes always deceive him. They are pretty much the only thing that ever tells the truth about him and you can always tell what he’s really feeling by looking in his eyes. Chad knows this and often tries to avoid eye-contact, so good luck with trying to catch it. He’s got a very cute smile, that’s a little mischievous as well as a little seductive. All in all, Chad is just a seductive kind of guy and has that charm about him that he knows how to use, and the looks are just a handy tool.
[ Personality Character Description: ] Chad Embers has changed a lot over his lifetime. There was a time when all he cared about was getting girls and he was a bit of a player. He didn’t really care about hurting people’s feelings or making himself seem untrustworthy, but Chad has matured a lot over the last few years. Since his parents’ death, Chad has become more quiet and reserved, as opposed to being loud and outspoken as he’d been for most of his life. Around new people, Chad has developed this new shyness until he gets to know them a little better and he’s more like his old self.
As much as he hates to admit it, Chad has a really bothersome conscience. He didn’t use to and could do anything without feeling bad but lately there’s been a nagging feeling gnawing at him when he knows he’s done something wrong or stupid. Chad is still a badass but the kind that’s like “Yo, I’m a badass….just don’t tell anyone, I don’t wanna get in trouble.” Chad’s a good guy, but he’d be the first one to deny it. Part of him wants to keep his reputation, but another part knows how wrong it is and wants to right it. He’s a very complex boy, and you need to get to know him to love him.
There’s no real reason for it, but Chad had a bit of a trust issue. He’s never been able to trust easily, and people don’t easily trust him. He actually can keep a secret, contrary to popular belief, but his reputation keeps people from seeing the real Chad. He’s actually a really nice guy, if he’s given the chance to prove it. Now that he’s matured, Chad would never hurt anyone on purpose and would never betray anyone’s trust if he could help it. He’s just a good guy.
[ History: ] The Embers family of Pureblood wizards can be traced back as far as the times of the 4 Hogwarts founders. However, the Embers’, were more interested in Salazar Slytherin’s point of view and since Hogwarts decided to go against it, they venture off to an institute that upheld the proud Pureblood tradition; Durmstrang. For centuries, Embers family members attended the proud Institute, generation after generation passing through the front doors and emerging as wizards and witches with the highest of talents in the Dark Arts. Chadwick Embers was no exception.
Chad attended the proud school and was raised as any pureblood boy would be. He was taught to be proud of his family and heritage and to hate all things to do with Muggles and the like. He was taught to not socialize with anyone who wasn’t Pureblood and was well on his way to being a Dark wizard, much like the rest of his family. However, Chad was always somewhat different. He didn’t like the Dark Arts and he didn’t like being mean to Muggles and Muggleborns; he was just obedient and did it because he was told to. It wasn’t until he was nearly done school that he decided he wouldn’t end up like his parents.
Quidditch had always been an escape for Chad. Whenever the Muggle-hating talks at home got to be too much, Chad had Quidditch to resort to. The Embers family was certainly not short on money and a Quidditch pitch resided in the backyard, concealed from nosy neighbours. Usually right into the night, Chad could be found out on the pitch, whacking a Bludger around and waiting for it to come back so he could hit it again. Beater was Chad’s position and he was rather good at it, but a career as a Quidditch player was out of the question; Daddy’s rule. Chad was expected to become a follower of the Dark Lord as his mother and father were, but he wasn’t going to settle for that. As soon as Chad was out of school, he took off to travel and ended up living in California for a couple years. That was until he heard the news.
Chad was forced to come back home when his mother was sick in the hospital. He regretted that he hadn’t been closer to her and she died before he ever got the chance to patch things up. Chad’s father lost it soon after and still resides in St. Mungo’s, with no idea who he is or what he once was. With his father in the hospital and his mother gone, Chad became the soul beneficiary of the Embers fortune, including the mansion. There was no need for Chad to work for the rest of his life, but he still felt as though getting a job would really stick it to his father even though his father was too far gone to even know. Keeping the mansion, only a single soul lives there permanently; the butler named Alfred. Chad stops in once in a while to make sure he’s OK and everything if still fine, but refuses to live there all the time.
[ Special talents/knacks : ] Chad doesn’t really have anything about him that sticks out in particular except maybe his looks, but it doesn’t really appeal to him that that’s the only special thing about him. He likes to think that his new found loyalty and trustworthiness are the special things about him and make him stand out.
[Writing/Role Playing Example:] Dark clouds cast a shadow over the towering turrets of the huge building. It was going to rain, that was for sure and it was only a matter of time before the sky just opened up and poured. Standing at the end of the drive, Chadwick Embers looked up at the Embers Mansion and sighed. How he wished he wasn’t back here. He’d promised Alfred he’d come home for his birthday but Chad would have rathered just stay in his apartment and not celebrate this day that had no meaning to him. But Alfred had insisted and Chad knew he owed it to the old man. He’d cared for him since he was a child and Chad didn’t want to be disrespectful. It had been Alfred that encouraged him to get out whenever he could and travel the world. That man had been a lifesaver.
Trudging up to the huge oak door, Chad took as long as he could to reach it, but the door opened on its own the second he got close.
“Welcome back, young man,” came a voice from inside.
“You haven’t called me that since I was a kid,” Chad replied, entering his old house and seeing the old butler standing there, waiting to greet him. A smile appeared on the old man’s face and Chad couldn’t help but smile with him. Deep down, Chad knew it was good to be home.
