Ravenclaw Common Room 10:37 pm After the feast. [/i][/center] Tianne yawned as she flopped back into one of the comfy blue chair surrounding the fire. She flipped her black ballet-style shoes off, and leaned forward, burying her face in her hands. It had been a long day, almost 12 hours since she had boarded the train to come back to her home-away-from-home. It had been an eventful trip, as the girl has attended a prefect meeting, helped young first years that couldn't get onto the train, gave advice and met new people. Usually on the train rides, she had kept to herself, only offering her name and friendship if someone had previously done the same. Many times, she had sat by herself, just wanting to keep quiet and read, so she would avoid trouble at all costs, but now, she just wanted to be in the company of others. Unfortunately though, Tianne had been unable to stay with Seth, Matty and Ryan, even though she was so excited to be going to the meeting. She had no idea that there was be some rude people there, but there was a lot of things that the girl hadn't expected lately. Her life was changing, quite dramatically actually, and she really wanted it to. She wasn't resisting the movement, she was givingit more momentum, so it changed faster. The young girl sighed as she thought of the firstyears that she had just finished giving a tour of the castle to. Another perk of being a prefect, she got to meet all the first years, and show them around. Some would find this boring, a stupid hassle, but not to Tianne. She enjoyed the fact that first years would look up to her, for directions, advice, and even as a few had done, show off their magic 'skills'. Tianne had giggled when the boy had tried to conjure magic, probably not the best thing to have done. Tianne took of her socks, pushing her feet closer the fire. She smiled as the warmth of the fire heated her feet, sitting back. She was happy to be back in the common room, even if she should have been going to bed. She would... eventually.

Sydney had to admit, tonight had been memorable. How many first years could recall enduring a swamp attack just before the sorting ceremony? Syd would bet ten sickles that she still reeked of swamp, as she picked at the now dried bits of mud stuck to her robe. A small yawn threatened to escape, and Sydney fought to withstand the urge, but the yawn gave way.
The young girl however didn't particularly like her "Stoney" experience. She had been warned that the gargoyle took swipes at people, but she hadn't really expected it. Her arm still stung a bit where Stoney had managed a hit. Sydney wasn't too concerned though. A lesson learned, get past Stoney as fast as possible. So when she first entered the common room, she hadn't been expecting to see anyone at all. She had lingered behind as the rest of the students had all rushed to their respective houses. Sydney just couldn't get enough of the castle layout, she was fascinated by the endless corridors that filled this place. Eventually though, Syd made sure to head to Ravenclaw, aware that being caught after hours was not highly looked upon, especially by her own house.
The girl looked familiar, and Sydney recognized her as her guide at first year orientation. She didn't particularly remember the name, but it was pretty sounding. Sydney bit her lower lip. Should she say hello? Or maybe sneak on past the older girl. Sydney wasn't sure if the girl wanted company or not. But Sydney wasn't ready to go to bed at the moment. "Hello." came the simple greeting, and Sydney smiled. She wondered if the girl would remember who she was. Sydney shuffled her feet awkwardly as she waited for a reply.

Tianne still couldn't believe the night that she had had. Her first real night of being a prefect, and it had gone perfectly. Well, for her anyways, she had heard that the first years had been through quite an ordeal. Tianne still remembered the last years first years, who had all run off, as the deputy went into the hall. That must have been the oddest feeling for Raynor; coming back to see no one, or very close to no one, as some had still remained in the hall. For ages after that, there had been stories going through the halls, and Tianne found it absolutely hilarious. Who knew that first years could stage such a performance.
Tianne stared into the fire, thinking that she was completely alone. At one point, she could hear the owl's hooting outside, and, leaning back in the chair a bit more, the fire crackling away. It was so peaceful, but Tianne knew that she needed company. Almost directly after the thought of someone coming went through her mind, Tianne heard a small hello. She saw the girl, but didn't reallly take in the fact that there was something there. "Err..." She said, shaking herself out of her daydreams. "Oh, um... Sydney, right?" She asked, remembering the curly haired first year from orientation day. "How d'you like the common room? Pretty cool, aye?" She continued to ask, hoping that the girl didn't find it patronizing at all.

"Yeah, my name is Sydney. You got it right." she replied. "The common room is pretty neat. Nothing like I expected though. Does that gargoyle always try and swipe at us?" Sydney moved toward the prefect, intent on taking a seat. The crackling of the warm fire was calming. It made the room feel cozy, tucked away from the rest of the school, safe. Syd wondered why this girl was still up, she looked tired enough. For a moment, the first year gazed into the fire, content enough with the silence. At least her mosquito bites had faded, though the faint red marks still appeared all over her face and arms. Sydney had decided not to go and see the school nurse, as she didn't want to thought of as a weakling. At least they had stopped itching so much! "So you are prefect? How do you like it so far?" Sydney wondered if being prefect was as glamorous as it seemed to be.

Jeremy hadn't gone to the feast, deciding that there was no one there he wanted to see and no reason why he should go. He had overheard Drew tell the prefects the password and while most of the students wove their way to the Great Hall, Jeremy had snuck up to the tower, spent an amazing hour in the good chair that Drew and Hiro never let him sit in, and gorging on leftover candy from the train ride.
When he started feeling a little sick, he took a trip to the bathroom, only to come back and find people already coming back. That Tanya girl had taken his spot and was talking to someone he didn't know. He grumbled to himself over the fact that he lost the good chair and found another place away from the girls by the stairs.

Scorpius had finally gotten into the common room. When he stepped in he had seen everyone just sitting around having a good time. He didn't really want to talk to anyone he kind of just wanted to be alone, but then again he also wanted company. He scanned the room looking for a place to sit but could only find places that were surrounded by other people. He decided to suck it up and go off towards the bathroom. He had gone and sat near the boy sitting alone away from everyone else.
When he had sat down he wasn't sure if he should introduce himself or not because he had looked like he wasn't happy. Sometimes when I am down I like people to talk to, Scorpius had thought. He decided that he would at least introduce himself.
He looked quickly at the kid and said "Hi I'm Scorpius. How are you?"

Rachel was so happy to be back at Hogwarts. After eleven years away from the place that she loved, and that she basically grew up in, and when it was time to leave, Rachel was beside herself with sadness. She really didn't think that the frst ten years being outside of school would be so succesful, and she was soon going to end up back inside the warmth of the castle walls. She dearly missed the Ravenclaw common room, and after being given the cool title of Head of House, Rachel figured that she'd be allowed to go back into the room, and that she wasn't going to be breaking any rules by doing so.
Muttering the password that she had overheard the prefects saying, she entered into the common room, smiling as she did so. At this time, she figured that all the students would be in bed, after a long train trip and a busy feast, she thought that they'd all be wiped out. Rachel wandered in, looking at the ceiling, before noticing that her thoughts had been completely and totally wrong. "Oh, hello students." She said, as she had not yet met any of the people in the room. There was two young ones, one that looked a bit younger than the other two, and one that looked like she was probably a lot older than everyone in the room.
"I'm the new Head of House, and I thought I'd just pop in to see how we were all going?" She hurriedly thought up, trying to make an excuse as to why she was back in the common room after all those years.

Scorpius had turned towards where the woman was talking. Why is she in here, she is kinda old to be a student, he had thought. Then she had made the announcement of being the new Head of House and then it clicked within him. He wanted to stay with the kid on the couch because he wasn't really all that well with meeting new people, but he thought that if he got in good with the new Head of House that nothing bad could happen to him. He was torn with what to do. He sat contemplating for at least five minutes.
Do I stay here or do I go and greet her, the thought kept running through his mind. It would be awesome to get int good with someone on the "inside", he thought. After much contemplation he had made up his mind.
Scorpius rose from the couch in a hurry and rushed over to her. "Hi my name is Scorpius Daniels, third year. It is a great pleasure to meet you. How are you on this fine evening?"

Rachel nervously smiled at the four students that were still awake. She didn't want them to get the impression that she really didn't care about her students, nor impression that she was strict or even for them to think that they could do anything when she was in the room. She wanted to be a good teacher, yes, but she wanted to be a good mentor as well. And usually, Rachel thought, mentors did not yell at their students. The young woman glanced around the room, admiring the fact that it was still basically the same, that not much had changed at all.
Rachel was delighted when a young, brown-haired boy came to introduce himself. She really wanted to get to know all her students, from Ravenclaw in particular of course, Rachel joked with herself, but so that she wasn't a stranger to the kids. "I'm professor Kinsley, of course, thats just Rach or Rachel outside of class. Just forget the professor part, hey." She smiled at Scorpius. At least the boy was polite. "I'm well, and how are you? I trust you'll be coming to my class, Astronomy?" She winked at the boy, knowing that it was complusory until your fifth year, in which it depended on your grades. Hopefully all her classes would be as polite as this boy.

Jeremy wasn't sure about the older boy sitting next to him. He humphed and shrugged in response, not sure what else to say, but of course, Jeremy needn't have worried to much about it. As soon as someone more interesting came along, the boy was off, kissing up to the woman who claimed she was the Head of House. Jeremy knew better. The Head of House was that funny looking guy. This woman was just trying to trick them all.
The good news was, at least that guy wasn't going to beat him up anymore. Jeremy was positive that had been the older boy's intention when he first sat down.

"I am very well, thank you," Scorpius said. "I really can't wait for your astronomy classes, I know they will be interesting." Scorpius was trying not to seem too eager to please the new Head of House but he couldn't help it, it was in his nature. "It was great meeting you but I am going to go back to the couch and sit and read some of my books." Scorpius nodded and went back towards the couch. Even though the kid hadn't said anything to him he felt bad for just up and leaving like he had.
He sat back down on the couch next to the younger boy, "Sorry about that, it was rude of me." He decided that he would like to make friends with him. Scorpius loved to make friends. "So what's your name?"

Drew had taken the scenic route back to the common room, by way of the Gryffindor tower. He wasn't in any real hurry to get back to his own place... except for the fact that he knew there was probably going to be some major goofing off in the Eagle's nest that night.
Taking the well-practiced duck under Ol'Stoney's swiping arm, Drew burst into the common room at top speed, taking a jump off a convenient ottoman and landing on one of the sofas with his arms raised high in victory.
"LET'S GET THIS PARTY STAAAAAAARTED!" he cried out in a booming voice, totally unaware that the new Head of House had decided to join them for this particular event.

Tianne smiled at the younger girl, happy that she got her name correct. There was nothing more embarrassing to the girl than calling someone an incorrect name. Tianne grinned again, as the girl described her opinion of the common room. The prefect had always thought of it as warm, and cosy, not knowing what the other houses ones were like. It was just cool, having the blue, coincidently being the girl's favorite color, and with the fire and the comfortable chairs. It was interesting to hear the girls thoughts, and Tianne giggled when the first year made her nest comment.
"Oh, Stoney. Yeah, he likes his castle-famous swipe. Don't worry, you get used to it. Sometimes when he remembers your face he might leave you alone, but you're best bet is to sneak past." Tianne giggled to the girl. "Are you okay though? He'd didn't get you too bad?" She smiled sweetly.
The young brunette smiled at the teacher. She looked nice, as if she wasn't about to bite her head off. But, as Tianne has been so oblivious to in the last few years, looks can be totally and utterly misleading. Like Seth, for example, he was actually a nice kid. Tianne grinned when Drew entered into the room. He always seemed to be able to make an entrance, no matter how inappropriate it was. He didn't even take the fact that there was a teacher, their new head of house in the room. "And that my friends is Drew Thornton..." She muttered nervously.

Rachel grinned at the young kid again, before looking up around the room. She couldn't help but stand in awe, as it had been almost eleven years since she had stepped foot in the common room, since she had felt the warmth of the fireplace burning brightly. The astronomy professor missed the place, yes, but she also was now missing her family, her mother and her father. She laughed as the boy politely excused himself, thinking about the boy's manners. Things had changed since she had been here, by way of students. Rachel nodded, and, speaking in her nice, polite voice, said "Of course, have a good night."
Rachel smiled at the older brunette in the corner, noticing her prefects badge. Just as she walked over to a chair, near to the fire, but not the closest, another boy entered, this time making quite a large entry. With a nervous chuckle, the woman smiled at the boy, who didn't really seem to notice her presence in the room. Hearing the comment made by the oldest girl, she smiled, recognizing the boy's name. "You must be Mr. Thornton." She said, making her presence known to the boy. "Like making an entrance, huh?" She grinned.

I'm coming up so you better get this party started. I'm coming up... I'm comin'... I'm coming up so you better get this party started ...
Drew was too busy doing the cabbage patch to his own vocal accompaniment of Pink, that he didn't hear Tianne's comment. The professor, however, spoke directly to him and once Drew heard the unfamiliar voice, looked around with a wide grin to verify it definitly was. But as he found the speaker, saw her adult robes, and realized she was actually a professor and not a student, his smile faltered, his ears flamed up a bright pink, and he weakly dropped his arms to his side.
"You must be... our new Head of House?" he asked nervously. He had heard Raynor introduce the woman, but had not seen her from where he had been sitting in the hallway. Great. Had his reputation preceeded him?
