Drew appeared to mull it over for a moment, pausing in his quest for repair supplies to place a thoughtful hand on his chin. His consideration of the matter was punctuated by a bit of humming and a small bit of fingertapping to his nose. He finally gave a long sigh and shrugged at her. "Yeah, I think I could live with that," he answered, his crooked grin growing bigger as he gave up his search and made a lunge to grab her around the waist instead.

Trying to keep a straight face, she watched the boy throughout his consideration. It was almost like watching her dad decide whether the price on apples was better than that on peaches, almost, but not quite. When he came to his decision, her eyebrows rose questioningly. He was willing to take such a little significance?
When he lunged at her, she screeched a little and immediately tried hushing herself before a professor or an auror walked in. Wrinkling her nose at him, she pulled back a little, but not out of his grip. "You could live with it maybe, but wouldn't you rather be more than that?"

Why was it so much fun to make her screech like that? Anyone else making that sound and he probably would have winced, but when she did it his stomach did the most amazing acrobatic tricks.
But yes, there were aurors and such walking around and while he didn't hold much stock in them, he still gave a soft laugh and kissed her to keep her quiet. "Well, of course I want more," he said, pulling back from her lips when he felt it was safe to do so. "But sometimes you take what you can get. See... I figure you like me for my Squirelese talents now, but eventually I'll grow on you and it'll just be too hard to get rid of me. Much like mold or mice in the basement."

His tactics to keep her quiet worked well enough, she became as quite as a church mouse while she was sure her nerves were having their own live concert in her stomach. Smiling at him, she forced herself to pay attention to what he was saying without letting her mind wander, and that in itself took a lot of work.
"Do you forget I'm a witch?" she asked teasingly. "I could just use a spell of some sort and cast you away. Of course, I'm not a very talented one in that department, so you might want to run first." On the other hand, she didn't want him to go away, hse liked being in his presence.
Lightly, she kissed him and pulled away. "Besides, I think you already have grown on me."

"Yeah, mold and mice grow pretty fast," he told her, swaying a bit as he enjoyed having her in his arms. It never ceased to amaze him how nicely she fit there.
"I've seen you with a wand. I'm hoping you'll give me fair warning as well as a head start if you ever plan on using it on me," he teased. "Or are you just going to ask me to help you out with my own cursing?"

"Fair warning consititutes as the time it takes me to find my wand and think of a correct spell, right?" she asked. It was only fair she gave him warning, but the time limit was still a part of the issue. "But I may have to call you back to me to help me figure out the right castings. Really I wouldn't want to hurt you more than the spell I choose is supposed to," she teased.
Relaxing, she leaned her forehead against him and sighed contentedly. It was nice, she liked having his arms around her, and she was more than used to his swaying.

"Aw... that's so sweet of you!" he said softly with mock appreciation and he leaned his cheek against her, sighing with a bit of contentment. It hadn't escaped him that he was actually getting his slow dance with her after all. The music on the wireless didn't really match up, but that wasn't important, was it?

Giggling quietly, she continued to follow his movement. It hadn't yet occurred to her that they were technically dancing, but she was content with just doing what they were without adding more thoughts to her already ranging mind.
"We should probably get going, huh?" she asked unwillingly. The words had formed even before she'd thought about it. No, Felicity really didn't want to leave his company, but it was better if they departed now and still be able to go out next Friday, than to get in trouble and not have Friday at all, right?

"Yeah..." he said slowly, not wanting to leave her yet either. "I still want to board up that window though." He wasn't sure why he felt like he had to do it except that it had been his fault the window got broken in the first place. He wasn't even sure he'd be able to find nails much less use a hammer.

"Why don't we say, don't worry about it and if your hand is better in the morning, you can repair it then?" she smiled up at him. "And if it isn't, I'll have the next able body after your's that enters the room repair it."
It seemed easy enough to her, let it be for the night. There was a note up so if anyone entered the room they'd be able to be on the look out for glass, and maybe they'd fix it up. "Besides, I'd rather you not hurt your hand again," she added, looking at him a bit worriedly. "And it's really okay, I don't think anything is going to happen just because there's no glass there."
Tugging him as she moved backward to the door, she kept her eyes on his. "Let's just go and not worry about it right now."

Well, he was going to worry about it but he couldn't resist following as she pulled him back with her. "Okay..." he agreed with a bit of reluctance that was only offset by his smile. He made himself a promise that he'd get up early and repair the window in the morning even if he had to stop by the nurse's office to fix up his hand first.
He kissed her again and tucked a blonde curl behind her ear. "So you ready to go then?" he asked, hoping to still prolong the evening a bit more, but not really sure he could.

"No," she answered with a good shake of her head, loosening a few more curls from behind her ears. "But I think we should go anyway. I have permission to be here all night, but I'm not so sure you don't and wouldn't get in trouble if someone came by."
That's all they needed was for more trouble to follow them, they'd all ready gotten in a bit of it for entering the forest on the pretense of helping that animal, they didn't need more. "And since I'm done with what I wanted to do with the paper, I think I should probably go anyway."
Letting her eyes sweep the room, she found the little hiding spot Sammy had taken to for the last bit of time, and he looked ready to go as well. Probably the window being open was too cold for him, so it was just as well that they got going.

"But if the editor needs a staff member to help her out..." Drew started, but didn't finish. Technically no, he didn't have permission to be out all night, but he thought he could make a pretty good argument if it came down to it. Even so, he knew she was right. If she was finished with what needed to be done then neither of them could really stick around.
"I'll walk you back to your Common Room," he said with another heavy sigh. So much for trying to stall.

If the editor needed a staff member, she was willing to wait for a decent hour. Besides, she hadn't asked if one could join her, so it was best if they just got going. Pulling away from Drew, she grabbed her bag and made little clicking noises at Sammy, which she had discovered he seemed to understand that it meant 'come with me'.
Returning to the boy's side, she slipped a hand into his. "You know you don't have to, right? Walk me all the way there, I mean. If you want you can just leave me when we get up to the floor." She knew the Ravenclaw tower was somewhere up there as well, having seen so many Eagles around the area, but she wasn't sure how close or far away it was. He didn't have to go out of his way to walk her to the Gryffindor tower.

Of course walking her to her dorm was just another way to spend a few more minutes with her. Besides, what kind of gentleman would he be if he didn't, letting her fend for herself against Peeves and any bogarts lurking around.
"Yeah, I know. But it's not that big of a deal to go all the way to the door, right?" he told her. "Besides, it will give me a chance to get in good with the Fat Lady. I don't think she likes me too much."
