"I guess it isn't, if you don't think it is," she smiled at him. The choice was up to him whether he wanted to walk her there or not. Of course, she'd like him to walk her there, just so she could spend a few more moments with him.
"And you really don't think she likes you?" she asked, surprised. The Fat Lady seemed to at least tolerate most well enough, it was surprising that she didn't like the Ravenboy. Suddenly she wondered if he'd done something to her. Turning a suspicious eye to him, she decided to ask him. "Did you do anything to her?"

"I think my reputation preceeded me," Drew answered with a smirk. He knew a bunch of other kids who seemed to be able to get into any common room they wanted, but even when he had the password, he was given a hard time. "She tends to fuss at me if I walk to close to her. I think she's talked to Stoney in front of our Common Room and knows of all the stuff I've pulled on him."

Raising an eyebrow, she wondered what he meant by reputation. While she didn't pay much attention to rumors, she was pretty sure she would've heard something about him that was negative by that time that was practical. Fortunately, she hadn't.
"What kinds of stuff?" she asked cautiously. Felicity rather liked the Fat Lady and didn't want her thinking anything badly about her for being with Drew at any point and time.

Drew grinned back at her before answering. While he had never thought his reputation was deserved, it was nice to know not everyone had heard of his indescretions. He wasn't entirely sure he wanted to fill her in, but he'd give her the short list of his run-ins with Stoney.
"Aside from the Silly String, Dungbombings, and the mustache I drew on him... there really wasn't much," Drew admitted with an innocent grin. "Most of it was retaliation anyway."

Just the way he explained, she knew there was more. His smile was much too innocent, and his tone made her look at him suspiciously again. Whatever it was he was hiding, she wasn't going to press him for though, she didn't think anything negative about him, and hadn't heard anything either, therefore she didn't want him trying to make her think of negative things about him. He'd already tried that route once, and she wouldn't do it.
"Why would you have to retaliate?" she asked curiously. Sometimes the Fat Lady wasn't in her frame, but that didn't mean the Gryffindors went around attacking her picture because of it.

"Stoney's mean!" Drew insisted, knowing none of the other houses had as many problems with their portal guardians as Ravenclaw did. "He takes swipes at us as we come in and out... even if you haven't done anything. Even my sister and she was a goody-goody while she was here."
"So yeah... I've gotten mad at him a few times," he continued, almost apologetically. "Does me no good. All I get is a busted hand or a sore foot for my efforts."

"Have you ever just tried talking to him about it?" she responded. Of course it sounded a bit silly, but in the wizarding world it really wasn't. Drew breaking things was another thing she didn't want to think about.
Grabbing the blue-eyed boy's hand, she began tugging him up the stairs. "Maybe he's just lonely or something. I mean, he's a statue right? So it's not like he can just disappear like the pictures and visit others, he has to wait for others to go to him."

"There are some things you just can't reason with," Drew answered with a shrug. No, he had never tired to talk to the gargoyle, but his sister had and she had still gotten swiped at. No, not as much as he did, but still.
"Maybe if he was nicer, more people would come visit him," he continued. "Then again, if he was any nicer he might not make such a good door guard, right?"

"That isn't true," she replied. "I think a door guard could be nice and still be a good door guard. I mean, isn't it all more based on their ability to deny or accept passwords than their humbleness? And humbleness is more of a bonus than anything?" While a guard didn't have to be humble, it was nice to think they would be. Especially if someone was actually lost or had an emergency or something of the sort. "And while they wouldn't be required to be humble, it's something that would be especially nice for new students and the younger ones."

"Maybe..." Drew answered thinking she had a good point. "But I don't think Stoney counts being nice to students as part of his job description." He had heard that the other ones were pretty nice especially to the new kids, but Ravenclaw's gargoyle definitely was not. In fact, he seemed to take advantage of the younger ones, swiping more often at them because they hadn't learned to duck yet.

"It sounds to me like he's in need of a friend. The way you're making it sound is that he's doing attention grabbers, trying to get people to notice him." Whether she was right or not was unknown, but it was her opinion on the matter. "I think you should be nice to him and talk to him."
Then again, the squid was still in need of a friend as well, and she'd made no progress as of yet to making him her friend. Nor had she found anything in the library to that day as to what a squid would consider a friend to be. Of course she still went out of her way to stop by the lake every day to greet the creature, but he hadn't seemed to come out of hiding to often when she did. It was almost saddening to her.

"Not everyone wants a friend..." Drew answered. Some people were actually happy when they were miserable and happier when they made others miserable. Kind of like Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street.
Still, the way she spoke so earnestly made want to give it a try. "I'll talk to him..." he agreed, starting to believe that maybe he could make it work after all.

"No, not everyone does want a friend, but everyone needs one. Even the most miserable of people have friends, sometimes they're cats," she said a bit disgustedly. There was just something about the creatures that did not appeal to her in any way shape or form. "But they are still friends."
Smiling, she glanced over at him. He was willing to at least try what she was suggesting, which made her giddy, just knowing he'd at least give something she suggested a try. "Tomorrow?" she asked hopefully.

"Tomorrow?" Drew echoed, not sure he wanted to start the whole friend thing that soon. He had been hoping to start off slowly with maybe a few polite words and a significant drop off of the cursing and kicking at the statue.
But she seemed so happy that he was going to try and he couldn't ignore that. "Tomorrow. I'll start tomorrow."

"Thank you!" she squealed in delight as she stopped and threw her arms around his neck. The blonde really was excited that he was going to try, and yes, it made her very happy to know that he was going to. So, her night had been made as well as her early morning, hopefully the rest of the day would go just as well, she could hope right?
Not letting go of him, she began walking backwards down the hall. From this angle, she didn't have to crank her neck in order to see his face, or his eyes. This way of walking was definitely working for her at the moment, as long as he'd keep an eye out and not run her into a wall, at least.
