"Sorta. I've mostly been around North America and West Europe. But we couldn't stop moving even if we wanted to," she said lightheartedly, but she secretly liked being stationary, and yet the moving around thing remained a mystery to Beni.
"I was raised Canada pretty much, and we would holiday down in the US for road trips. For a cosmopolitan gal like me, I'd be lying if I said 'everywhere else' is okay," Sure enough, she did lie a little bit except for the cosmopolitan part.
"Like they say, you learn somethin' new ev'ry day. It's pretty exciting."

"Well, you'll be pretty stationary at Hogwarts," Kellen said. "We don't do a lot of moving, 'cept on the staircases. Hope it's good enough for a cosmopolitan gal like you," he added lightheartedly.

"Could only hope so. I got myself in here mostly on a whim. Couldn't stand the one I was in last-- too many dowdy and uptight twits scampering about, I'll tell ya," said Beni. So far, her perspective on boarding school pupils was being proved wrong by every person she met.

"Well, I couldn't say much about this school compared to other magical schools," Kellen said in a light tone. "The public, non-boarding, Muggle school I went to before coming here, though, isn't as good. So to the best of my knowledge Hogwarts is, in fact, the best school in the world."

"But it depends on what area you're talking about, mate. Socially or academically? Because I know firsthand that kids can be cruel," Beni said but not dropping her equally sunny tone. She was curious about how many good folk she would meet until she would find the ones none so pleasant.

"Kids are going to be cruel anywhere you go," Kellen reasoned. "Here's no different. And I don't want to pin it all on the Slytherin house or anything, but they have more than their fair share of the unpleasant students, if you know what I mean. They're not all bad, of course, but... Anyway, I haven't had any real problems with other students, 'sides cheating at Quidditch and whatnot. There was a professor once, but he's gone now."

"I've met a Slytherin before. Reina was her name," Beni nodded as she confirmed it. "Yeah... well, she's a sweetheart 'cept for the intial interrogation when she saw my parental units and the awkward moment with 'Llegra. Coulda sworn she was ready to duff her up."

Kellen nodded. "I can't say that's shocking," he said honestly, and sighing. "Who else've you met, then? And how do you like it here, all that?"

"Gotta remember here-- Ah yes! I've met this Ryan fellow, a Lianna gal, Hiro, Nic, Dan, Cameron... I bet I'm forgetting some here...." She wasn't one to be cooped up in the dorms, unless you could count when she had her mother's food that she got in a care package the same afternoon she arrived to Hogwarts.
"I like it here. Not used to the antiques, I'm more for the posh things." At that point, a portrait scoffed and pointed its nose upwards, highly offended by her last remark.

Kellen let out a small laugh. "Well, that's a pretty good cross-section of students," he said. "I don't even know all of them," he admitted.
He glanced at the scoffing portrait, and leaned in as though he was going to offer some info about one of the named students. Instead, he whispered "Watch what you say around the portraits. They gossip something awful, and if they don't like you they'll watch you very closely."

"We can be posh as well!" The portrait hollered behind them to make a comeback. Sitting back and bored with them, the portrait merely looked on at the two.
Beni giggled. "Nobody can be as bad as the bloody twats from my former school," she told him. "As long as they don't start name-calling and putting tomato sauce in my rucksack, I'll be fine-alright."

Kellen grinned. "Well, I wouldn't be too worried about the portraits and tomato sauce," he said, keeping his voice low. "There are a couple of boys in my house that are fans of pranking, though. A couple of Gryffindors too, so I'd watch out. Nothing serious, mind you, but a fair prank now and then, you know."

"All the better!" Beni exclaimed, very keen on the idea of getting in on a prank. "I love pranksters. They'll be our next comedians and inventors. And here I was thinking if my house would be dull or not..."

Kellen blinked a couple of times. "Hogwarts is never dull," he said in a tone very nearing serious. He brightened up a little. "Trust me. You're talking to the guy who turned himself into a statue by reading a book. Well...that was a little dull, actually, being a statue. But otherwise...never dull."

"Oh, le pauvre!" Beni said as she slipped out a little French. "That's musta been hell! I wouldn't last being a statue," Beni demonstrated by staying still, but had exhale after five seconds.
She always got that tight-lipped feeling that one would get when they were in a very delicate place like a china store, and when they got out, they felt compelled to shake out the pent-up energy. At least she felt that whenever she went to a china store."How long were you stone-cold?"
