Nic was leaning against the door with a corsage of honey kissed flowers with blue tinges on their petals. The exact same shade as Lily's eyes. Nic looked bored though he was dressed in an all black suit that reached all the way down to his mid calf with matching black pants that had a chain that linked the pockets with a striped tie to complete the 50's gangsta, but respectable look. {The one in the middle. duh} ![](http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y113/MalaBruja/pic.gif)

Sora walked down the corridor leading to the Great Hall, wondering if the Yule Ball had started yet. He was dressed in his best formal clothing. A simple black dinner jacket with a crisp white shirt underneath. His black pants were form-fitting that was perfect for his size. His black dragonhide shoes complimented his suit very well, making him look very 007ish in his tuxedo. Also with a black bowtie and gold quaffle cufflinks, he definitely looked dressed to impress.
Curbing the urge to run a hand through his hair since it was spiked and would prove to be messy, he finally entered the Great Hall, astounded that it looked so much like a winter wonderland.
His eyes scanned the area, looking for his date in the masses. It was like finding a needle in a haystack. Too many people.

Dan looked at the girl then back at Brittany, He scrowled slightly, "Now you've given the poor naive girl the wrong impressions. Not all of us are heartless." He shrugged, "Some of us even enjoy writing sappy poetry." He smiled gently down at the little girl, his eyes lighting up a bit, and small dimples on both his cheeks appeared. If it hadn't been for the girl before him, nearly shaking in her shoes, his look would have made it seem as if they had known each other for life, nearly siblings. For Dan was one to bug little kids, and for him to be kind was a complete joke.
Dan watched the girl walk in, and yes in his eyes, she was stunning in a pale pink with her slightly pinked complexion made him think the charm wasn't done perfectly. He thought to himself, Won't this be interesting... playing nice and bullying another girl at the same time. Dan causually opened the circle, allowing if the little girl if she wanted to leave the circle.

Anna walked timidly into the great hall. She was wearing a long, shiny pale blue dress, some glitter on her face and her hair done up. She really didn't know what she was doing here. She didn't have a date so she was hoping that she would just find a few friends and hang with them. "Coming her is ten times better than staying in the empty common room." she thought.

Carina looked into the Great Hall, a bit confused. Her parents had made her go to the dance, and she was yet to find a single friend. She looked positively cute in her light-pink dress. A thick-strapped dress in a pale pink to contrast with her tanned complexion in which made her proud in being Italian. Her long dark brown hair was curled naturally down just past her shoulders and held back with a light pink head band with a flower on the side. The flower matched the waist band on her dress and the pretty designs going all down the sides.
Carina’s chocolate brown eyes looked around the room in a small bit of interest. The colours were pretty with all the ice-blue, sadly it didn’t match her dress. She flipped back her hair a small tooth-less grin crossing her face, making her well-known dimples appear. She headed over to a corner. She was tempted to take one of those yummy- looking chocolates, but her mother had told her not to.

Christina had walked over to a wall, and she was leaning back against it, still wondering why she had even decided to go. After all, she was most likely going to be standing there and doing nothing for most of the night. She sighed lightly and looked around. She noticed Anna, a fellow third year, and figured that she could atleast talk to someone. She waved at Anna to get her attention. "Hi Anna," she said to her.

Yet another first year made their presence known in the hall, and only slightly less cautiously than Lianna had. And for a very good reason. The problem with mothers was that, no matter how many times you told them you were all grown up at a spiffy eleven, they still believed you were five and look absolutely adorable in the most ridiculous of outfits. So Jason Payne entered the hall, in what looked to be something he had worn when he was five. His legs had outgrown the pants ever so slightly, but they still managed to fit to some extent, but the jacket stopped halfway to his waste and no amount of pulling and tugging seemed to want to make it longer. The only part of the tuxedo that actually fit was the white shirt and bow tie. Though, the latter was horribly tied and crooked at that. So he entered the Great Hall, decorated in fashion for the Yule Ball, spotting a group of sixth years apparently crowed around something small and significant and other older students mingled around the grand Christmas trees. One word. He dared one word to be said. Tuxedo

Lainee stepped timidly into the great hall. She was excited to have been given the chance to attend the ball, especially since she was just recently hired. Lainee couldn't believe her eyes. This was too beautiful for words. This place was dazzling. "Oh my. This is unreal." Lainee quickly went over to a table and watched the beautiful gowns pass her by. Her own simplistic one making her feel inadequate with the students. Especially since her were so many different colors just like her culture. "I need a drink." Naturally Lainee meant juice and stood up to do just that. The Dress

Carina turned in the direction of the door, and her cheeks pinkened slightly when she saw a very good-looking lad in that direction. She was sure that he was her age, as the tuxedo showed it all, at least her parent's had allowed her to wear whatever she wished. She had never been shy, more of a bubbly disposition, and without a single word headed over. Carina said, "Hi, I don't believe we met, even though I am in most of your classes. I'm Carina and it's nice to meet you, even though dances are boring and I dislike them to a great disent. What did you say your name was?" She was very bubbly, and upgoing, a small smile across her face making obvious dimples show. ((ooc: srry about that, shes SO hard to follow ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ))

Brittany muttered a sorry to Dan as he got on to her for teasing the little girl. She had known the little girl and she knew the girl kind of believed the stereo-types of the houses. Meaning that she would still be slightly uneasy even if she hadn't said anything. Feeling slightly guilty and a bit out of place, she looked down at her mauve pink shoes. She knew not all Slytherins were mean, she better than anyone knew that.
Looking off she wondered where her own Slytherin was. Not spotting him amoung the mass of people that had started to arrive, she sighed. Glancing back around the little circle they had formed, she was itching to get the night started. She wanted to dance and have fun, not stand around all night and socialize.

And so her escape happened to waddle...well, close enough, his way through the door not a moment later, though she hardly considered it an escape, as really he was the last person she wanted to see.
Mind you she had nothing against her fellow first year, the only male first year to her knowledge, but, she could only figure he would make her night worse than it already had been, somehow.
And therefore right when she was about to leave the group her opportunity got snatched away. Too quickly. And so blasted close to freedom, obvious freedom, but freedom. And she doubted it wouldn't take long for the trio of sixth years to spy where she had been looking.

Beni had been checking her makeup with her compact when she looked past her reflection to spot Lianna spotting something. Or perhaps someone? Beni mused amusedly. Clasping her compact shut, she took a step towards Lianna. "Got a crush on the li'l penguin over there?" She whispered to her as she teased. "Aw... he's fit. So perfect for you!"

Dan whispered to Beni, leaning over slightly, "But is he interested in her?" He was indicating the rather cute girl standing next to him blurting on and on about who the hell knows what. The little girl was pretty cute with light-pink cheeks. She definatly looked embarrassed, but it didn't really matter as she seemed to be going on and on...

Crush, her, him, certainly not! Bar the fact that she wouldn't know what one was unless she was hexed by it, and even then still not understand the concept did play a small factor. Denial seemed like the best answer, as it was the truth, really he was just the only other person her age that she knew that was present, as the girl that had appeared from the cornerly abyss was a new face even to her.
Lianna not being the rude type wasn't about to bound over now either, but it would be amusing to watch her friend's reaction. And it was now she realized she still had yet to say anything to the Gryffindor's remark, a full fifteen seconds having passed since its utterance.
"No..." She murmured in confusion as she tilted her head slightly, her gaze shifting to the food table of which she had yet to touch anything upon it. She had called it, Jase had made her night worse without even really doing anything, wasn't that a lovely talent to have?

' Ugh.... ' Dan thought to himself as he waited in the corridor leading up to the Great Hall and caught a glance of himself in the window. He didn't pace, only stuffed his hands into the pockets of his black tux and tried to look himself over in one of the windows he was standing in front of. Dan thought he looked decent enough, probably not good enough but...... Presentable, if you will. He finally leaned against the wall, willing himself to relax as he waited for his date to arrive.
