Nic noticed he hurt her feelings. "Lily I didn't mean shut up as shut up. I meant shut up as jokingly. I'm sorry. I didn't mean." Nic sighed. He didn't know what to say to make things better. "Lily honey what's wrong? Want some chocolate?" Nic spotted them on the table.

Allegra nodded and smiled back, noticing that Drew and Alhana were really the only couple on the floor. She smiled at Lily as she and Nic made their way to the floor as well. You look nice she mouthed to her Ravensister.
She didn't say anything else, noticing there already seemed to be some tension between the couple.

"Nothing really," Lily said. "I was just sort of thinking and letting myself get distracted is all. But I can't think about any of life tonight I just need to relax and let myself have a bit of fun for once without worrying that everything will be ruined. I've just been under a lot of stress lately what with everything that's happened." She turned her head for a moment as she saw Allegra and Kellen. Thanks, she mouthed back. You too.

Kellen led Allegra out onto the floor. Maybe with a few couples out there, more people would join soon. Even if they didn't, though, Kellen was enjoying the music and not really caring what others did with their dance time. "This is a great song," he commented. He didn't generally follow popular music or music trends, but this was a fun song, at least.

Okay, so normally Arianna wouldn't be going to the dance because no one had asked her. But she had gotten up the, um, guts, to ask someone to be her sorta-kinda date. Really it was all just a silly idea, but she had gotten a yes and now stood at the bottom of the steps waiting and adjusting her...tie!? Yup. A tie, courtesy of Drew. It was blue covered with snowflakes and a snowman at the bottom. Press the tip and it would play "Frosty the Snowman." Arianna had also found an nice looking boy's dress robe in light blue, had it tailored to fit while on a sneaky trip into Hogsmead. For a nice touch, she had added a top hat in the same color. She might be getting some strange looks tonight, but Arianna didn't care. She had a date and she was having fun.

Allegra twirled herself once around when she got onto the dance floor, just for the pleasure of letting her dress flare out (seriously, what's the point of dressing up if you can't do that at least once?) She grinned at Kellen and followed his lead, moving to the music.

( Reply to Keag's post.. so long ago. ) Dan turned quickly around as he heard the soft ' click ' of nearing heals. What he didn't expect to see was Keag, looking beautiful. Well, she always did but tonight was just different. " Wow, Keag. " He finally managed to sputter out as he looked at her. " You look great, gorgeous, wow. " He said, running his words together before he calmed down enough to recognise her previous compliment. " Oh, thanks. Just and old getup. " Dan said with a joking smile as he placed a kiss lightly on Keag. Then he remembered the corsage. " Oh, here. " He said, smiling as he handed her the box in which it was in. The petals were a pale red, giving off the vibe of maroon and the rest was blue and a bit bubbly, it had reminded Dan of Keag's personality.

Keagan's cheeks flushed instantly when Dan's first word was "Wow." She knew that he thought her beautiful, but it always brought a blush to her cheeks when he complimented her. But for a charmer like him to stumble over his words? That was just too much. "Thanks," she replied before he responded to her own compliment and kissed her. She had only just noticed the box in his hand when he handed it to her. "For me?" she asked, rhetorically, of course, as if it wasn't for her, then he wouldn't have handed it to her. She opened it slowly and carefully, and a small gasp escaped her lips when she saw the beauty of the flowers. "It's beautiful!" she exclaimed, touching the red petals softly with the index finger of her right hand before looking up at Dan again. "Help me put it on?"

Sora's eyes continued to scan the hall, looking for that familiar set of long dark brown hair. As the crowd in front of him began to thin, he finally saw his date in the distance next to a table, her back turned to him. From the back view, he noticied that the dress seemed to be just suited for Brittany. A light pink color, it seemed to just flow elegantly downwards and accentuated the curly ringlets of her hair.
She looked beatiful.
Shaking his head slightly, he slowly moved towards her, making sure he didn't lose her in the throng of people gathered in the hall. Grinning slightly, he covered her eyes,
"Guess who..." he whispered into her ear, the grin still placed on his face.

"Then good. Don't let anything get you down just i can't look at you or I'll go all gah gah gah over you and then you'll really be mad. I'll have drool coming down my chin, people will speak and I'll go huh? See stupid right?" Nic laughed and twirled her again this time coming onto the dancefloor and bumping into Drew and his date. The Alhana he hasn't met yet. "Drew, my man was sup? This must be your honey. The horntail dragon, right? Well, she looks like a pretty flower, like a daisy when compared to my rose."
{Did yall understand that?}

Dan knew that this was his cue to leave the scene, and he began to head over to another quiet corner and watch people eat those love potion-filled chocolates. Dan however, could not help but feel a prang of jealousy upon seeing Brittany's date as Dan indeed was conceited a general Slytherin trait. He shrugged slightly as he pressed himself against the wall. His head was bowed slightly, and his arms crossed over his chest making him look uptight. He infact was only trying to stop himself from bursting out with laughter.

Anna was just standing by the wall when she heard someone call her name. She turned around to she Christina waving at her. "Hey Christina! I didn't know you were coming!" she smiled walking over to where she was. " Whats up? Do you have a date? Cause I don't." she continued when she caught up her her.

Post by Tamis Raynor on Feb 22, 2006 17:01:33 GMT -5
Quite belated, the Deputy entered the Great Hall with complete witch-like extravagance. The younger generations were more prone to muggle formal wear now, yes, but Tamis had been raised in a day and age were dress robes had still been in style. So, she appeared in such; a cream in color and the softest hint of lace and gold embellishment along the neckline, torso, and sleeves. All of it polished off with a matching wizarding hat. Old habits died hard it seemed.
At the ball on a purely chaperon-basis, Raynor scanned the hall, making sure that all was in order. Besides from a few disgruntled looking students, everything seemed to be flowing just fine, the general population standing in clusters rather than dancing, but at least no one looked terribly unhappy. Very good.
Making her way toward the middle of the room, Raynor crossed her arms wait. Her expression carried an uncanny parallel to an overseer simply waiting for someone to fall out of line. Then again, it was always like that.

Carina said, "Hi, I don't believe we met, even though I am in most of your classes. I'm Carina and it's nice to meet you, even though dances are boring and I dislike them to a great disent. What did you say your name was?" She was very bubbly, and upgoing, a small smile across her face making obvious dimples show. ((ooc: srry about that, shes SO hard to follow )) Still fighting with the tails of his jacket, Jase continued to pull to were it almost looked as if it would rip. But alas, the powers-that-be were not that kind to him. Mothers. He was eleven for Merlin sake and way to old for such things. It was then that a girl, apparently his age, bounced out of the crowd and straight at him, showing so large of dimples that he could probably have stuck a muggle pencil in the crevice between cheek and lips and it would have stayed. He had a funny feeling that she would give the banshee Alhana a run for her money on the insanity plead. Girls, he swore. One of his chipmunk grins pushed across his own lips and he took a step back from Carina, almost bumping into an older student. "Erm... I didn't. But, its Jase," a quizzical look crossed his face, "if you don't like dances, why are you here? Kind of defeats the purpose..." Anyway out, anyway at all. She could be in with the banshees for all he knew! Or the posse called the Ravenclaw Girls. Then, the grand savor of the day, his gaze caught on Lianna. Freedom! He gave her a wide grin ... but now, how to get to Hufflepuff without setting off the Gryffindor, which he was afraid he would do if he simply hopped away. Girls seemed touchy like that.

She had after fixing her gaze on the food table, been taking glances int he boy's direction hoping to Hufflepuff he wasn't moving. It was this time she realized not only was she in the open, and completely visible to all taller than she (which was, everyone to her knowledge and best estimates), she was also the only Hufflepuff present. Talk about house representation!
At perhaps her fourth glance she caught site of the telling grin that said 'spotted' all over it and she inwardly winced, but all the while keeping a, pleasant, perhaps, look on her face.
Now she found herself asking that all important question of hindsight. Why?
Why was she there, why wasn't she sleeping, why did she even contemplate going beforehand. She shouldn've came at all. It was that simple.
Still, she felt compelled to respond to the boy who seemed bent on catching her attention for one reason or another (not like It wasn't bound to happen anyway), so she gave a small, sideways wave of acknowledgment, but one that was as obscure as she could manage without being obvious.
