((ooc: srry if this annoys u… she blabbers on and on giving no time to respond.))
Carina’s eyes widened slightly when Jase stepped away, as she was one to find out everything about everyone, and no way would she allow him to back away so easily. “Well then… Nice to meet you Jase.” She pronounced the name a bit off as she hadn’t been really paying attention. “And for the dance… parents sent me howlers for a month now and told me if I didn’t go then I would disgrace my family. But my father and brother has already done that so I don’t see why it would matter.”
Carina saw the boy turn his head and she pursed her lips. "Well, if you want to go over there, we can both go over there then. What are you waiting for? Let's go!" She suddenly grabbed his hand and raced off towards the little girl in hufflepuff also in first year apparantly.
As they got there, she let go off her hand and blabbered on yet again. "Hi I'm Carina, nice to meet you, nice dress! Where did you get it because I want one now. I like it because it suits you, are you in Hufflepuff and that's why you're wearing yellow? Oh, what did you say your name was?" Her eyes twinkled as she breathed after the sudden outburst.
((ooc: and srry for the bit of powerplay, but honestly, i can't see much happening with maybe 5 seconds tops of running... and lol that Carina has no down time o.o))

Before Jase could even utter the word "hippogriff', he was being led, no dragged, in Lianna's direction. His heels trying their best to dig into the ice-looking flooring. But to no avail. Some sort of scratch resistant spell must had been applied, he just skid after the girl, his dress shoes preventing traction.
"But... but...", he stuttered. Blast it. Banshee it was.
When his hand was released, he recoiled and checked to make sure it was still in working order. After an inspection of his fingers, he found it was, and side-stepped from the loon, whose attention now encompassed the unlucky Hufflepuff.
"Ello', Lianna," he greeted in a harassed manner, moving slightly behind his semi-friend, he guessed he could call her friend, doing his best to place himself out of harms way.

Try as she did to understand the rant and banter that was the litany of the girl's voice, all of which, with it being so jumbled, made no sense to her at all, so she merely nodded. All she could understand was 'whats your name'. Of which if the girl had half an ear, she would have realized Jase had just provided it.
And the two on one odds faired slightly better, not to mention rounded out her nervousness. As, she was fairly certain Jase wanted to do the same thing she did, make her shut her trap.
"Hey..." She managed from the corner of her mouth in reply, in between nods, and agreeing sounds. Though, what she had actually been agreeing to was a real mystery.

Carina rolled her eyes at Jase, “Aw come-on, it can’t be that bad, I don’t grow my nails. And if I did, that wouldn’t have been very pretty…” Carina unlike the two near her, was not shy at all, heck she’d go talk to a seventh year for the fun of it. Carina never possessed the ability to really pay attention for too long, and squirmed at the thought of not talking in about ten seconds.
“And pretty name.” She tested it for herself under her breath, ‘Lianna.” She said a bit louder, “Never heard a name quite like it.” She looked at Jase then back at Lianna, her eyes catching those chocolates again. She gave a quick be right back, and stuffed one into her mouth. She thought it was pretty good, with the cherry sauce inside and all, and suddenly, her world closed in on Jase, as indeed he was the first one she saw, immidiatly, she fell in love.
Carina headed back, and began blurting random things at Jase, not paying the bit of attention to Lianna. "So what house are ya in?" She asked like an American, failing in the accent immensly.
((ooc: won’t this be interesting? O.o ur never gonna get her to shut-up))

The first year scuttled a little bit farther behind Lianna, almost half-way concealed... well, blocked. Jase was small, wiry, and chipmunk like, but he still had nothing against the Hufflepuff's slight frame. He had planned on making a run for it, but as quickly as the girl had gone she came back.
Now, Jase was not one to think high on himself. He claimed full bragging rights to his ability against imaginary trolls and dragons, but girls were an entirely different mystery, and quite real. However, he did not like the look in this one's eyes whatsoever.
Slightly more behind Lianna.
"Erm... Ravenclaw... first year. Lianna's in Hufflepuff," he stated and tried to display his friend at the words, motioning to her with his hands. Anything at all to get out of the radar. Jase wasn't shy, but he didn't do well with the opposite gender.... the shield in front of him didn't count. That one was okay. As long as she didn't move that is.

There was that ruddy compliment again, she had a pretty name, as nice as it was, flattering even, it was going repetitious. Not to mention annoying. But she only shrugged it off with a murmured: "Thank you."
And just like that she was playing buffer with the very same girl she would rather be where Jase was, besides, wasn't this situation supposed to be reversed anyway? But, it was too late to try and move, and thus the spotlight was basically back on her once more.
"You alright?" She questioned curiously, as she noticed the girl having a rather, odd, to say the least; look in her eye. One that held no past reference in Lianna's memory. And so, with no definition available, and no real information to go on, she as flying blind.
Her head inclined slightly toward her left shoulder as she awaited the girl's reply.

"Then good. Don't let anything get you down just i can't look at you or I'll go all gah gah gah over you and then you'll really be mad. I'll have drool coming down my chin, people will speak and I'll go huh? See stupid right?" Nic laughed and twirled her again this time coming onto the dance floor and bumping into Drew and his date. The Alhana he hasn't met yet. "Drew, my man was sup? This must be your honey. The horntail dragon, right? Well, she looks like a pretty flower, like a daisy when compared to my rose." {Did yall understand that?} ((Considering I ramble a lot, yes I did)) Lily laughed and smiled. "If you go all gah gah gah on me," she joked with Nic. "I have permission to tickle you and win again." Lily blushed when Nic called her a rose. Funny, everyone seemed to call her a rose. "Hi Drew, Alhana," she said nodding to each one in turn. Maybe this would convince Alhana that she had no feelings for Drew.

Carina moved over to see Jase again, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes and put both hands to her hips, “I’m not going to bite you, its those Slytherin’s you have to watch out for.” Carina was one of the girls who would talk to anyone in the same manner, old or young, male or female. What bugged her was that none of the males in her year so far had no backbones, but with her temporary infactuation, it didn’t matter, because she was crazy for him.
Carina, although only 11 was a big flirt, and she threw her curls back behind her head, and stared at Jase fondly. She was quite annoyed with Lianna, for breaking her goggling over Jase, she said rather quickly, even for a girl whos words ran a mile a minute, “Fine, completely fine.”
She put her thumb to her chest, and said rather fondly, “I’m in Gryffindor.” Before fluttering her chocolate-brown eyes again at Jase admirably, a small grin crossing her face, making her cute overly-large dimples to appear.

(Carina, I think I found Beni's mini-me ) Beni had served herself a small beverage as she looked out on the dancefloor. The only people she could really recognize were Kellen and Allegra, and she waved merrily at them. But even though she had been to many dances alone, she couldn't get herself to dance. Not yet. Clicking and clacking from the concession stand to the wall, she felt in an utterly foreign area. "Now I know la pauvre Lianna feels," she said as she saw the scene of first years mingled. She also waved at the girl, giving her a thumbs up. But even if it only took five seconds, Beni was starting to itch for a dance. Seeing the only familiiar bloke on the wall being the Deej, she walked towards him with a pleading grin. "The Deej, would you care to give this dancing-freak a go on the dancefloor? Don't worry, I'll keep meself from humming Michael Jackson songs." (Sorry, Daniel! I could NOT help myself on that one)

The smile on his face only showed about 50% of his happiness. " Uh, yeah. " Dan said to Keag as he tore his eyes away from her for a second as he helped put her corsage on her wrist. " Good? " He asked when he was finished and had examined it. " Would you like to go inside now? " Dan then asked, seeing as how they were still in the Corridor. Besides, from the sounds of it the Ball was still in the process of ' getting started '.

Dan's smirk was whipped clean off his face. He was not one to dance, unless it was slow songs, which he had no problem in doing so, but fast songs, he just looked like a complete fool. For he was one that stood on the walls until a slow one came on, and then charm his way across to one of the girls. He said with a bit of a forced grin, "Sure... but only one mind you."
Deej shrugged slightly, and grabbed Beni's hand, pulling her to the dance floor. Upon doing so, the fast song ended and a slow one started. At once, he grinned slightly, "Mind dancing slow?" He asked.

"I've always been one for the medium, but this'll do," Beni told him as she followed him, but took him more to the center. Something about the middle of the dancefloor was puzzling and great. "Although I'm more for a fast song, I've thankfully stored some moves reserved for the slower times. But that's one odd thing about you, Deej. From my experience, blokes practically fly away on a broom when they hear a slow melody. You're quite the opposite, aren't you now?"

"Well... Yes, mainly because I look a fool with fast songs." He shrugged with the shared honesty. "Mind you, I got banned from the past dance, so I am a bit rusty. Once again, a word of caution, avoid those chocolates." He smirked, and with out another word, put both hands to her hips, gently of course.

"Huh?" Drew answered, looking over at Nic and Lily. He had been lost in his own little world and had barely noticed anyone else on the floor. "Oh, hey guys," he answered, wondering why Nic hadn't noticed Alhana in classes { }. "Yeah, this is Alhana... and I know I didn't call her no dragon. I said she was a fireball."

Krissy made her way carefully down the stair case. She hadn't seen Mike in days and he hadn't bothered to ask her to the dance and so when someone else asked her she quite happily took up the offer. Krissy had worn a light blue sleeveless dress that faded down to dark blue at the base of it, basicaly to match what her date was wearing. She had her long red hair out but with the two front parts of her fringe twirled up into bands (Big round twirls).
She reached the bottom of the stairs and made her way carefully over to her date. Happy to have someone to go to the dance with and have fun with.
"Hello you" she said to them with a big smile.
