The day was warm, the wind was at a light breeze, the clouds were few and far between. Scott was seated on a bench, one from where a beautiful garden could be seen. he didn't really have much to do, unless one wanted to count homework as something to do. There was a drawing pad in his lap, a charcoal pencil in his hand, and a flower on his paper and two on his mind. No, he couldn't really draw, but it put off working on his homework, and that's what mattered at the moment.
The flower on the paper couldn't exactly be called pretty, nor well drawn, but that didn't matter to Scott. he hadn't really put effort into the drawing, not that if he had it would've looked much better. However, he sat there thinking about the flower and the princess. Both were of interest to him, but he had figured a couple of things out about both. One had someone, the other wasn't ready for someone. Neither situation looked in his favor.

It was indeed a beautiful day, but Sonja found herself sitting inside, in the library of all places, looking out at the grounds. The beautiful day did not reflect Sonja's feelings at the moment, however. Her mind was tumbling with different problems, all of them it seemed, were caused by boys. There was the charming Prince of Ravenclaw, the moody, black-eyed teenager of Slytherin, and that idiotic bloke back home. The bloke at home was, quite frankly, out of the question. But the other two... Sonja was torn. She didn't want to hurt Daniel, but Scott was so charming, despite her earlier thoughts of him. Sonja sighed and shook her head. What to do...
Sonja stood up from her chair and looked out the window. That was when she saw a lone Eagle sitting outside. Even from the back of his head, Sonja knew who it was. "Scott," she whispered. Not bothering to grab her cloak, although it wasn't really needed, Sonja ran hobbled as fast as she could, down the stairs and outside to meet him.
Sneaking up behind him as quietly as she could, Sonja was right behind Scott before she let him know she was there. "BOO!" she yelled, and burst out laughing, hoping she had scared the living daylights out of him.

Lost in his thoughts, Scott didn't hear the creeping girl, but when she let her presence be made known, that was something that he hadn't been expecting. Scott jumped, what seemed like fifteen feet to him, but was probably a mere inch or two in reality. Actually, he had been scared enough that he had jumped clear off the bench and into a part of the garden his gaze had been on. As he turned around, ready to tell off the person who just frightened him, his heart was slowing down to a regular speed.
"Good Merlin!" he exclaimed before his eyes landed on her. "Sonja?" he asked in a much smaller voice. "What exactly were you trying to do? Send me on a trip to St. Mungos?" he asked lightly with a grin.

"If you went to St. Mungo's it would mean that you weren't here to bug me," Sonja replied cooly, sitting down on the bench and crossing her legs. She had been trying to keep a straight face, but evidentially it wasn't working. Sonja burst out laughing again. "Hey! Don't ruin the garden!" she said, when she realized how far she had made him jump. Well done, Sonja, well done, she thought to herself. She patted the spot beside her for Scott to sit back down.
"What were you even doing out here?" she asked.

"Ouch," he replied to her comment. "I'm not that bad am I? Or am I just one of those people that annoy you just by breathing?" he smiled at her. It was easy to see she was playing with him, and though he didn't know her well yet, at the moment she was easy to read.
"Garden?" he asked dumbly as he tried to grasp his mind on what she said. Turning his head a bit, he realized what she meant. Oh, the garden, he thought. Now I really sound like an idiot. However, when she patted the spot on the bench next to her, he grinned and plopped down. "Well, I was," he trailed off as he looked for his pad and pencil. his brown eyes spotted them, right under where Sonja was seated, and a smile spread over his face. he scooted over the bench, right up next to her and reached out a hand making as though he was going to place it on leg, before he moved it under where she was seated and grabbed his things instead. "Drawing. Or at least trying to," he smiled over at her with the 'drawing' open to show her.

Sonja raised an eye brow as she watched Scott's hand coming towards her leg. But then he put it under her and pulled something out. "I thought I was sitting on something," she chuckled, standing up so he could get his stuff. He pulled out a pad with something drawn on it. Sonja couldn't see what it was, but then he showed it to her. She turned her head sideways and examined it, to see if it made more sense that way. "With all 'due' respect here uhh...what the bloody hell is that?" she asked, chuckling. She wasn't trying to be mean, but she couldn't help it. She was a Slytherin after all.

"Eh," he started. "It was supposed to be a flower, though it doesn't really look like one does it?" he asked as he started to chuckle. In fact it looked nothing like a flower, which was a bit sad. Scott stood and walked over to the flower he had tried to draw, picked it, and returned to Sonja's side. After he sniffed it, he offered it to the princess. "I know last time I couldn't get you a carraige and footmen, but at least now I can offer you something that you do deserve."
his brown eyes looked at her as he gently smiled at her. She really was a princess that deserved the best of the best.

Sonja watched Scott intently as he walked over to the garden and picked a flower. She was about to ask what he was doing when he came back and handed it to her. "You really are a Prince Charming, she said, chuckling and taking the flower. Oh dear, what was she getting into. The more she tried to fight it, the harder it was to fight off temptation. Any thoughts she might've had about Daniel or anyone else were pushed from her mind as she looked at Scott. "You know," she started, "You're not as vile as I thought you were." She chuckled at this, remembering what she thought of Scott the first time she saw him. Things had defiantly changed. As it seemed, they changed for the better.

"I try," Scott commented back with a grin. he didn't really try, it was more natural than anything for him, especially with such a pretty girl. With Sonja's next comment, he chortled. "Well, if I'm not as vile as you thought I was, I suppose that's a good thing. And you're not as vile as you try to be, or at least that's what I think." he smiled and winked lightly at her, hopefully this time she wouldn't think he was crazy.
"So," he started. "Uh, do you like it?" he asked, gesturing toward the flower. It was a dark purple, almost black, and he thought she would. However, who really knew what a girl would or wouldn't like, besides a girl?

"I guess I'm going to have to try a little harder next time," she replied, grinning. Sonja wasn't trying, at all, to be vile and wasn't about to start. Sonja couldn't help but laugh at Scott and the way he was acting. She felt her cheeks flush red, but Sonja didn't care. For some reason, it seemed the norm for her to blush when she talked to Scott...
"It's alright," she replied simply, looking at the flower. Then she chuckled and threw her arms around Scott. "I'm kidding. It's beautiful. Thank you," she said, letting go of him so he wouldn't think she was crazy. Well, she was crazy...but only a little...

When Sonja put her arms around him, he didn't know what to do. Before he had a chance to hug her back, she'd let go of him. "Ummm," he began before he cleared his throat. "Well, I'm glad you liked it." Scott turned to look at her, his brown eyes looking over her features. A really pretty princess, he thought.
"And you're welcome," he finally spit out after he remembered she had thanked him for the flower. Having her arms around him, even for a split second was nice, and he sorta wished she hadn't let go, at least not so quickly. "And thank you for the hug." he grinned sheepishly at her.

Sonja grinned slyly back at Scott. "Anytime," she said, flicking her hair out of her eyes. Sonja sat back and thought about what had just happened. That was the way it started with Daniel, except she had kissed him. Sonja hoped things wouldn't go the same way with Scott. She hoped there was even something between them, other than just friendship. But friendship first was always a good idea. Her and Daniel had gone so fast. They barely even knew each other before Sonja kissed him. Biting her lip, Sonja wondered if even hugging Scott had been a bad idea.
Her mind wandered back to reality a short time after. She didn't need to worry about the future right now, especially if there wasn't going to be a future in this. No use worrying about something that might not even happen. "So..," Sonja said, trying to keep the conversation going, "What's goin' on?" It was a lame attempt, but her writer Sonja couldn't think of anything else.

"Well that's good to know," he replied about the hug. The silence that followed was interesting. At first, Scott thought it was awkward, but it didn't turn out to be that way. As he sat there with her, he wondered what she was thinking, if maybe she was thinking the same thing he was. Of course, his thoughts lingered on the short embrace and the lovely lady he faced.
"Not much," he replied. "Just thinking about how beautiful the day is, how good my day has been, how much better it is now, and of course how much more beautiful the view is from here than it was from there," he indicated where he had been before she scared him.

Sonja was surprised that Scott didn't take up her "anytime" offer and ask for another hug, but she guessed that was probably for the best. Still, it was weird he didn't ask. It just seemed like it was what he would have done. Should have done...
"Did you read all these compliments in a book, or do they just come to you?" Sonja asked, chuckling at what Scott had just said to her. Shaking her head, Sonja wasn't sure if she wanted to know or not. Scott just seemed too nice, too polite, too...perfect to be real. Sonja was suddenly incredibly aware of how charming he was. If she thought he was charming, who was to say that no one else did? She suddenly got very rigid, and Sonja slid down the bench a little bit, away from Scott.

"Compliments?" he questioned. "What compliments do you speak of? The words I speak are words of truth, there are no compliments in them." When he'd finished speaking, he noticed Sonja had moved down the bench from him. Did he say something wrong? Did he do something he shouldn't have? Did he not do something he should've? Suddenly he was very nervous inside, what had he done wrong?
Scott looked to her face to try to read it, but couldn't, he just didn't know her well enough to read her. That's it, he thought. I've got to ask her. "Sonja? Is everything all right? Did I do something I shouldn't have? I didn't mean to offend you if I did."
She just didn't seem like the kind of girl to move away from a person just for the sake of moving away, and it wasn't as though she were joking with him. he was now officially worried he did something wrong.
