Sonja sighed and continued to look at Scott. He seemed totally sincere, but Sonja didn't know what to do. Her eyes lingered on Scott for a few more minutes before turning away again. She wrapped her arms around her body and shivered. It had been a warm day, but Sonja didn't feel warm. She wiped her eyes quickly. "Scott," she whispered, "I don't know if I can trust you now." She turned back to face Scott again. "You don't know how much it hurt to see her just now, or read that letter. And the only thing that scares me is that you might like her more than you like me." With that, Sonja turned away again. She didn't know what else to do. She cursed herself for not listening to her head, and letting herself get so involved.

Sonja's reaction was better than he'd expected, at least she hadn't slapped him again. he didn't understand her full train of thought, he was sincere with her. Yes, he did like Lily, but he'd already forced himself to forget about her like that. just Lily was his friend, and that was it. Nothing more was going to come from it, there was no way it could, at least not yet.
"Sonja," he began. Scott stepped closer to the girl, the one he was with, though he didn't touch her. It wasn't the right time to touch her, no matter how much he wanted to wrap her up in a hug. "I know how much it hurts. I was the one that letter was for, I'm the one she's angry with, I'm the one who didn't chase after her." Scott's tone of voice was calm, but still unstable. "I am still here. I should go after her, she's my friend. But you are too, and at the moment, as much as I need to work things out with her, I need to work them out with you first."
What Scott said was truthful. he needed to work things out with the flower, but first he needed to know about the princess. Scott refused to let himself like Lily more than a friend, he'd made up his mind on that. The princess was the one he wanted to be with, had he wanted to be with Lily he would've gone off after her. In fact, he still should've.
Scott finally wrapped his arms around Sonja, he didn't care whether it was the right time or not, he wanted to hold her. Hopefully he she wouldn't mind. "Sonja, my question still stands and it's your call. I'll understand either way you go. However, you also will have to understand I need to work things out with Lily, either answer you give me." Scott prayed she'd say yes, but he'd understand if she didn't.

Sonja turned around to face Scott once again, but didn't pull his arms away. Instead, she put her hands on his neck, and held his face close to hers. With their foreheads touching, she spoke. "I want to trust you. I really do, and so I'm going to. I'm giving you a chance, but only one more. If you mess this up...well, you won't like the consequences." Sonja sighed, but didn't move. Her green eyes stayed focused on his brown ones.
She needed to know for sure. Sonja had never felt this way before, and the whole concept of love was foreign to her. Sonja had never been one who was even capable of loving anyone other than herself. She cursed in her head as she remember what she had mouthed in Daniel's direction in Defense Against the Dark Arts. "I need to know you're not going to screw around with me," she continued, her tone serious, "I.Need.To.Know. And I'm trusting you. The answer, of course, is yes, but you have to promise me that I'm the only one. Not Lily, or anyone else. Me."
((Is it just me, or is this starting to sound like a soap opera...XD))

((I'll agree from what I've heard about them, don't believe I've ever seen one though))
When Sonja turned in his arms, he was relieved. It felt right, the only thing in the last few minutes that did feel right. When she touched him, he mentally sighed. When she spoke, he smiled. As much as he was hurting about Lily, Sonja could really make him smile at that moment. Don't let me mess this up, he prayed. Please, don't let me mess this up.
Looking into her green eyes, he made a promise with his. he wasn't going to screw with her, there was no way he'd screw with her, but he wouldn't not be himself with others either. "I promise, I will not mess with this. I promise you are the only one. But you need to understand that I'm not willing to not be myself around others." This was going to kill him if she didn't first. "You said I'm charming and sweet," the word was a distasteful one. "That is me, whether I mean to be or not, that is me. And you have to accept that. So this is your chance to say no to me." Scott was serious about this, he had to be himself around people, if he wasn't himself, then who was he? "You will be the only one, and I'm trusting you'll know that." At that moment, he would've kissed her under normal circumstances, but these weren't normal circumstances. "However, Lily is going to be around. She is my friend, I want her friendship, but you are the only one." With that Scott made another promise to her with his eyes, he was serious. And serious and Scott weren't often found in the same sentence, unless he was being sincere, and he was being.

Sonja understood. It's just who Scott was and she was going to have to accept it. If she really cared about him, which she did, she'd have to deal with it, which she was going to. "I know," she sighed, "I know, it's just you. And I can accept that. So go to Lily--" she stopped halfway through her sentence. She didn't want to let Scott go, but she had to. Breathing deeply, she continued, "And talk to her. Do whatever you have to. I trust you." With that, Sonja pulled Scott in and kissed him again.
After a moment or two, Sonja pulled away, and pulled away Scott's arms that were wrapped around her. She his hands for a moment, and looked in the direction that Lily had gone. "She's in your House. If you don't talk to her, it'll just be weird. So go now," Sonja said, letting go of Scott's hands and wrapping her own around her body.

A wave of relief swept over him at Sonja words. She still wanted to be with him, and she trusted him. Whether she really did or not, he was glad she at least said she did. When she told him to go to Lily, he was utterly surprised. This girl, the princess, was telling him to go to another. It wasn't that he didn't think it possible of her to do something like that, but it was weird to him. As she pulled him in to kiss her, he was very grateful towards her. Not only did she want him to smooth things over with his friend and want to be his girl, but she also semed to trust him.
When she pulled out of the kiss and out of his arms, held his hands and told him to go, he wasn't sure. he wanted to stay, but he knew he had to go. he nodded his head at her, but then wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace. "Sonja, thank you," he said as he looked into her gorgeous eyes. Lightly, he kissed the tip of her nose as another promise to her. "I mean that for everything." Scott let go of her and turned away, he now had to find Lily.

Sonja smiled when Scott kissed the tip of her nose. It tickled, so she giggled, which was very unlike her. What the bloody hell happened to you, Sonja Wright? she asked herself. She didn't try to answer of course. She didn't fight it, and she didn't make any excuses for herself. She was feeling something she'd never felt before. She was a little scared, but it just felt so right that her fear didn't matter.
She watched as Scott walked away and let out a huge sigh. She sat back down on the bench, and saw that the flower was still sitting there, looking more beautiful than ever. She picked it up and smelled it. It was as if she had never smelled a flower before, and it made her smile. For a moment, she contemplated actually putting it in her hair. But the she stopped. No. That was where she drew the line.
((Wow...sappy...but that was one intense thread, Scotty boy))
