Davis nodded, but then raised his eyebrows and a cocky expression was visible on his young face, "Cute? What in the world do you mean? Evie, you are not cute. You are.." he trailed off, and smiled at her, "You are beautiful." Davis nodded yet again, his lips were pursed in a smirk as he did so. He turned away from her and looked at the sun again, which was barely visible behind the earth. The fifth year's eyes closed as he looked towards the sun, taking in it's last heat of the evening. He inhaled and exhaled, his chest heaving as he looked up. A small sigh came from his lips as he turned back to look at Evie.
Slight disappointment wiggled it's way into Davis's feelings as he heard her next words. It's getting late. Great. She whispered it too. Davis chewed on his lip. Whenever a girl said that it was getting late, she wanted to go home. In this case, she said it was getting late and wanted to go back to the school- or girl's dormitory, which had a cool slide if you tried to go up there.. and were a guy. The young Rossi boy continued to munch on his bottom lip, until he finally decided to speak. He was enjoying their time, and didn't want her to go, but if she was ready to go back inside, then so be it.
"So, do you think we should be heading back?" he asked as his hypnotizing chocolate blue eyes looked into her deep pacific ones.

"Not cute?" Evie asked indignantly, her brain not comprehending the fact that he Davis had just called her beautiful. "How could you not think that I was cute? I'm absolutely adorable. Complete cutie. That's what I am." Evie said, pointing her thumb into the center of her chest and smiling brightly at him. She noticed his reaction to her words about it being late and took a deep breath.
"No!" She said to quickly, then looked down at her lap before meeting his intensely expressive brown eyes. "I'm just saying, it's getting late. Which usually means that the stars come out. I love the stars." She said, shifting slightly so that she could lay back in the grass and stare up at the sky. "Don't you?"

Davis realized that Evie hadn't heard him clearly, and realized that he was going to have to make himself clear. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Instead, he just decided to lay down beside her on the grass and look up at the sparkling stars above. Maybe once he was down there, side by side with this girl- he could tell her that he did think that she was beautiful. Davis chewed on his bottom lip, before relaxing on his elbow, and gently making his way to the ground from his sitting position by the tree. He was laying on his side, and propped up on his right elbow, so he could still see Evie.
Davis's left hand dangled over his side, before he brought it to Evie's face and swept a few stray blond bangs out of the way so he could see her blue eyes much better. "Evie, I said that you were beautiful, that's what I said." It came out like it was natural and meant to be. Davis even shocked himself with the type of tone he said it in. It was soft, and comforting. He hadn't heard himself speak that way since Denise died, and that was a little over two years back. He exhaled a soft, content sigh as he stared into her blue eyes. "Yes. The stars are amazing."

Heart fluttering, Evie's breath caught in her throat. The feel of his fingertips against her forehead sent a chill down her side and she closed her eyes, biting her lip. She couldn't believe what was happening. She'd been to Hogwarts all of three days and she was already sitting under the stars with a boy. Somehow it all seemed right. Hearing Davis say that she was beautiful made her smile and she opened her eyes to see him looking down at her. Reaching out, she brushed her fingers against his. "You aren't even looking at the stars, silly." Her voice was much softer than she ever remembered it and it made her feel strange, the butterflies picking up in her stomach again. "Shouldn't you be looking at the stars if you're going to call them amazing?" She asked, her hand slipping into his easily, their fingers lacing together nearly perfectly.

Davis blinked, although he didn't have any intention of taking his eyes off of Evie. He continued to look into her eyes, though even when his milky brown ones re-opened. "Evie. I think you are beautiful, and you are amazing. The stars, they will always be there for anyone to see. I can always come out to look at the stars, but right now I'm with you- not the stars. It's about you, Miss Pavion," he said, lacing his fingers with hers instead of playing with her hair. His elbow was about a foot away from her head, and his chest was decently close to her shoulder. Davis's eyes scanned her face for an expression, before realizing that somehow they had became extremely close and he was inches from her face. He bit down on his lip too hard to cause himself to do something he regretted. Is this the first impression he wanted her to have of him? Some guy who acts lonely and randomly goes out kissing girls he just meets? He wouldn't do it. And he wasn't faking the loneliness. Davis was lonely, he was depressed, and he was sad.. that was all until Evie showed up. [FYI- he didn't kiss her. ]

Evie's eyes closed slowly as she listened to Davis talk. Suddenly she began to panic. What was she doing? She had just met Davis and here she was, laying with him under the stars. Opening her eyes she realized that he was leaning impossibly close to her face and in an instant of panic, she sat up quickly, their heads bashing together. "Bloody hell." She whispered, resting a hand on her forehead and shaking her head gently. Now mortified by the fact that she had just ruined the moment, Evie sprang to her feet. "I am so sorry." She whispered before running off, heading back to the bench where her notebook was still sitting.

Davis swallowed hard, until he felt a force at his forehead. He didn't intend on kissing the girl and thought that he screwed up his first impression. Great. Davis held his head in shame as the girl ran off. His vision went blurry for a few moments, before digging into the night, and spotting Evie running away, more than likely to get her notebook that she'd left behind. With no hesitancy whatsoever, Davis pushed himself off of the ground, and began to run, not sprint, run towards Evie Pavion. He chewed on his lip as he went along and luckily caught her just before the bench.
Placing a hand on his hip, he bent over, breathing- asthma- and then looked back up at her, raising his eyebrows, his other hand on his chest, "I'm so sorry," he heaved out, "I really didn't mean to scare you. I.. I'm not that kind of guy, I promise. It's not.. I'm not.. like that," he said, now he was standing up at full, although he was very short, maybe even shorter than Professor Raynor. He looked into Evie's blue eyes, he didn't mean to hurt her, but figured that he'd more than likely scarred her from himself, and she probably wasn't in the mood to talk, knowing girls.

Sitting on the bench next to her notebook, Evie pulled her knees to her chest and sighed. Tears welled up in her eyes but she would not let them fall. She was not the type to cry over silly things like this and there was no way that she was going to start now. Closing her blue eyes she bit her lip and rested her cheek against her bent knees. The sounds of sneakers hitting pavement startled the girl and she sat up quickly, her eyes darting around the darkening area. She figured she should head inside, but her body wouldn't move until she saw Davis again.
As the boy came running up to her she couldn't help but smile. No matter how much of a fool she had just made out of herself, she couldn't help but feel that no matter what she did, Davis would forgive her. Before she had a chance to apologize, Davis was already doing so. Shaking her head she patted the seat next to her and smiled. "You shouldn't be the one to apologize, I should." She said softly. "I don't know what I was thinking. I just...panicked. I've never really been around boys and...I don't know. I guess I just got all nervous and stuff." She explained. "How's your head?"

Davis shook his head in disagreement as his hand found its way to his heaving chest. He should've brought his inhaler but knew that this would pass over in a few minutes. Once he fully gained his breath, he continued to shake his head. "No, Evie. It's my fault. It's all.. my fault. It's okay though. Are you mad?" he asked, raising his eyebrows and giving the girl somewhat of a puppy dog stare as he slowly took a seat beside her. Davis's muscular arms stretched out to the body of the slender girl, and turned her around, so that she was facing him on the bench. He pulled his legs up on the bench and put them into a comfortable position.
"My head?" he asked, bringing a finger up to caress a small, swollen knot on his upper left forehead. "I'll be fine, it's nothing," he said. "What matters is how you feel, Evie, not my dumb head. Are you mad?" he asked, leaning in a bit, and lowering his eyebrows into a sorrowful look.

"Your head isn't dumb." Evie started, tilting her head to the side. "And it's not just about how I feel. It's about how we both feel. I didn't mean to panic. I just...freaked out. But I like you, Davis." Slowly Evie reached out, feeling bolder than she ever had, and taking his hand in her own. "And I want to get to know you, really well." She said, resting her head on his shoulder without really thinking.
"So no, not mad. It's just...it's different." She smiled, looking up into his eyes. "I've never liked anyone before." She said softly, her eyes closing as the sun went down slowly. "Can we just sit here? Watch the stars?"
