"Yeah, I guess some people have said that before," Drew answered with a small smile of course, 'some people' had been their mothers and Drew thought it had mostly been to make Jeremy feel better about his ears and height. Apparently they both had the 'Thornton profile' or something like that. Drew still wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.
"So what house are you thinking about?" Drew asked Hannah. She was a hard read for him and could probably do well in any of them.

"Maybe it's your hair that's similar to Jeremy's" Hannah suggested to Drew, all though Drew's hair was kind of lighter than Jeremy's. "Either way, you two do look somewhat alike" Hannah finished up, giving Drew another smile and thinking she was going to have to tell Jeremy next time she saw him that she knew his cousin.
"I was hoping I'd get sorted into Ravenclaw, maybe Hufflepuff... but Ravenclaw is the house I hope to get sorted in" Hannah was slightly nervous about the sorting hat and truth be told, she would prefer it if she got in the same house as Jeremy or even Ryan, just as long as she wasn't sorted into the same house with that girl that had hit her over the head.

"Slytherin, is the better house," Ty said with a smile. Of course everyone would say that their house was the best, but he couldn't help it. After all the girl had just said she wanted to go into Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. I mean Hufflepuff he could understand, after all his best mate was in Huffle, but Ravenclaw? Who would actually have their sights set on Ravenclaw? Gag. Then with a shrug he added, "Huffle is alright too, but Slytherin is still the best."

Again, Drew ignored Ty and answered Hannah. "WOO HOO!" he cheered, raising his hands above his head in triumph at the risk of losing the towel around his waist. "Hey, that's my house! Even if you aren't in Ravenclaw, just stick close to the prefects. They're all cool and will take care of you... if you need it." He added the last bit hastily, not wanting to think he was trying to baby her or anything, especially now that she had started smiling.

Ravenclaw did seem like the better option for Hannah, just for that fact that she liked to learn. "Okay, I'll do it, once I figure out who the prefect's are of course" Hannah said, who was now thinking that if Drew was in Ravenclaw, that meant that maybe Jeremy might get into Ravenclaw, which somewhat brightened Hannah up again.
"Do you know though" Hannah started, directing this at both Drew, the other boy and Felicity, "That my step mum actually thinks that I should be put into Slytherin?, she says I'm evil, but I'm not, she just doesn't like me very much" Hannah was rambling and probably saying a little too much again, but when she spoke of her step mum, that seemed to happen a lot.

Drew snorted at this, not because he didn't think Hannah would be a poor fit for the house, but because the stereotype was so... well, stereotypical.
"Slytherins aren't evil," Drew answered. He knew some very un-eveil Slytherins actually. Even Ty, right there wasn't evil. Annoying, but not evil. "Slytherins just know what they want and will do anything to get it. It's more motivated than evil. Heck, I know Huffles that are more evil than most Slytherins."

Listening, rather than partaking, in on the conversation, Felicity had to bite her tongue at what Hannah said last. Besides Ty, she'd only met one other Slytherin, to her knowledge, and she didn't find either to be evil. And who in their right mind would find Hannah evil? Certainly no one that was of any good; of course there was the factor that Felicity hardly knew the young girl, but she doubted it to be a characteristic of hers. Drew, to the rescue, stated almost exactly what she'd been thinking.
"They're all good choices, depending on what you value and want the most." However, this being said made Felicity wonder about it herself, what exactly did she value as a characteristic in herself? Where did she most want to be placed? The answer would only arrive at Hogwarts, just before the sorting feast. Unfortunately, Felicity didn't know how she'd be able to wait that long.

Ty just looked at the little girl in amazement. Just because you were in Slytherin didn't necessarily make you evil. After all he didn't regard himself as evil and was just about to open his mouth and tell her this when Drew did it for him. Well Drew said it in more of a general sense of not all Slytherins are, where as he would have said it in a specific sense, but still it got the same point across. "Yeah were not evil," Ty added still a little offended by Hannah insinuating that he was. "Like Drew said we are just motivated to get what we want." He was at a loss of what else to say. Drew had pretty much said it all with his statement, and apart from offending the little girl their really wasn't much more to be said.

"Exaaaaactly," Drew agreed with Felicity's addition. He had come to conclusion a few years back that the Sorting had more to do with what the sortee found important than what the Hat actually thought. In fact Drew dared to belive that the Hat didn't make the decision at all, but rather it was a vessel to offer suggesions and fine tune the student's own thinking.
He turned to Felicity who he hadn't seen at school but who seemed to know the workings of Hogwarts pretty well. "So what house are you in?" he asked. She was obviously too old to be a firstie.

"I'm not in one yet," she replied hanging the answer in the air. It didn't occur to Felicity how odd it might have sounded, but she didn't go beyond what she said either. All she was aware of was the fact that she'd been sent a letter explaining that she'd be sorted at the start of the term before the first year students were to be sorted. Felicity hadn't worried herself about it too much, she figured she'd be placed wherever she was suited to go. Her mum had described the process, put the hat on and it shouted its answer; however, after drilling her mum about the entire process and what Houses people her mum knew had been placed in, she'd figured it was more of a personality-type of test, magically-enhanced of course.

"You look a bit old to be starting your first year," Drew answered, the tease evident in his voice. She looked a lot closer to his own age than to Hannah's. Chances were she was a fifth or sixth year transfer just starting at Hogwarts. "So where did you go to school before?"

(HA! evil Huffle's ;D)
When Hannah rambled, Hannah rambled more and when Hannah was mad, well, not mad at the people that were going to be her fellow students, but mad at her step mum that Hannah called the dragon lady, Hannah rambled faster and probably a little more sarcastic as well.
"Yes well, those were the dragon lady's words, not mine, she thinks Slytheirns are all evil, not me, I don't know any Slytherin's, so I can't make any assumption, I'm just saying what my step mum told me" Hannah ended in a fast pace tone. Why was it whenever Hannah mentioned her step mom, she always wound up defending herself as well?.

Drew was a little surprised at Hannah's sudden outburst. He had been trying to point out the error in that thinking in general and hadn't meant to insinuate that Hannah agreed with the stereotype. "Hold on! No one said you thought that. And I don't think any of us think you're stupid enough to believe it," Drew told her, knowing he had just called the little girl's stepmother stupid, but not really caring. "And now you know Ty. He's a Slytherin and he's not evil." Again, Drew could think of a dozen other things to call Ty, but evil really wasn't even close to being one of them.

"Well, I know Ty, but I don't necessarily know him that well" Hannah replied back to Drew, still feeling angry at her step mum for thinking that she was evil and for thinking that slytherin's were all evil.
"But so far, Ty, you seem pretty nice" Hannah gave Ty a small smile, they all seemed really nice. "I don't believe anything that comes from the dragon lady's mouth, like I said, she thinks I'm evil... we tend to have a lot of disagreements" Hannah shrugged, now if only Hannah could get rid of her step mum, then maybe she wouldn't always have to defend herself.

And it came, Drew's remark was indeed a probable one had she considered how she chose her own words. Rather than an intelligent remark, she laughingly rolled her eyes. The teasing was evident from him, and she knew she deserved it after what she'd said. "Actually, I'm just really mature looking," she replied. Felicity would've used the 'really tall' remark, had she felt taller standing next to Drew, but no, he towered over her.
Before she had a chance to reply where she'd been taught, as she hadn't attended a school, Hannah burst out with a few choice words. The girl's stepmum didn't sound like the kindest of people. Almost more of a Disney stepmother characteristic. However, again came the factor that she didn't know Hannah's stepmum and shouldn't judge based on what the young girl was saying. Instead, she stood silently and listened to Drew and Hannah converse.
