Seanna's eye's flashed at the mention of her friend's name. "You leave Drew out of this. Drew's my friend and a honest friend at that, this is between you and me and the fact that you could've saved me and your self a lot of heartache if you had been honest with me from the start" It was the truth, if Mike had told her from the start, there would've been a chance that they still might be together.
"Quack!" Percy let out what sounded like a scared quack and Seanna jumped, she'd forgotten that Percy had been there and Seanna watched as the duck inched towards Mike's right clearly seeing something that Seanna nor Mike could not see. "Percy?, what is it?" Seanna asked, grudgingly walking over to where Mike was, but only because her duck had seemed to take an interest in the shadow's on Mike's right side.

The duck would eventually prove to be more annoying than the squabble itself. It, like any other animal, cat, dog, or otherwise, had noticed his presence quite easily. Their senses were more acute than a human's, in fact he'd never heard of an animal that didn't have better senses than human. Except maybe a troll--but that's right they were 'magical beings'--not animals. Fickle beings, but...in the same aspect their stupidity made them very useful. Very useful indeed.
Robert again said nothing, but withdrew his wand anyway. They might recognize him, bu that didn't mean they wouldn't hex him on sight. Merlin knew the townsfolk had tried lately on numerous occasions, though those that remembered such an encounter were few and far between. Modifying memory was a difficult thing, and he of course, was no pro at it. But then again, that didn't matter, as long as his memory was ogne fromt heir head that was the end of it.
And yet, he found himself admitting he would be unwilling to perform such an act on the two--maybe the duck...not that it could talk--but not these two. Nor any other student from Hogwarts. After all, the children, would be the future of the Deva, the future of the Pure's dominancy. They would be the future, period.

((Hope I am not intruding. If I am, just let me know and I'll delete my post. ^_^ I just couldn't resist crashing a thread that actually took place at night.))
It was nearly pitch black outside, the evening’s light had long since faded and the morning’s rays were not yet peeking through the shroud of night. It must have been nearly midnight, but it was only midday to the man who wandered the streets tonight. His name was Juan Marcos, and he was a peculiar individual. To be blunt, the man was a vampire and having already fed tonight, courtesy of the Ministry’s “blood banks”, he found himself with not much to do for the remainder of the night.
He wandered aimlessly down the deserted streets, reveling in the haunting echo of his footsteps upon the cobblestones. That never got old; each click and clack was music to his superior ears. Heightened senses were one of the many gifts of being turned and sometimes, came close to outweighing the curses that came with them. Tonight, however, his footsteps were not all that he heard. From a few streets away, angry voices were drifting towards him on the wind. From the tones of their voices, they sounded like children, probably the age of Hogwart’s students. They definitely should not be out unaccompanied at this time of night. Who knew who or what might come drifting up from Knockturn Alley at this hour?
He took off at a brisk pace down the cobbled streets, his footsteps echoing mockingly after him, musical no more. The dull dark streets appeared, to his eyes, in bright outlines as his senses took advantage of any available light, no matter how dim, and the echoes of his feet and anything else that moved. He finally reached the street he’d been searching for and silently blended in with the shadows. He could tell from the heat emanating from the individuals that there were three, not two as he had first suspected. One was an adult, male by his scent, and Juan was not sure of his intentions.
Though Juan had not met these students yet, he was still officially a professor as of the end of the last term. He stepped forward out of the shadows, hoping he would have some authority to send them home safely. As he came close enough for them to see him, his features became discernible. His naturally pale skin seemed to glow in contrast with his jet black hair and robes, which had a tendency to blend in with the dark around them. His hair hung just a bit below his ears in the back and framed the front of his face, except for a portion that was longer and concealed the left half of his face. One red eye stared seriously at the students, the other was concealed.
“Please do not be afraid,” he spoke with a slight Spanish accent, “I am not going to harm you. But I must request that you take your argument somewhere safer than the dark streets of London.”

(no, it's okay)
"Quack!" The duck let out another shrill quack and this time Seanna knew there something there in the shadows and something that Percy did not like. Though Seanna was no expert yet on her duck's language, she had some sort of grasp on it and Seanna thought that the duck was scared of whatever it was that the shadows contained.
Forgetting for the meantime that she was fighting with Mike, they could pick that up later, Seanna had made her way over to Percy and was now looking through the shadows, but could not see anything. "Percy?, are you sure something is in there?" Seanna questioned her duck, only she could talk to the duck and it was only she that could find out from the duck whether or not someone was actually in the shadows.
"Quack!" Percy said again, his head turning to what Seanna thought looked like a man, but yet Seanna didn't think he looked like a man, especially with his red eyes making a stark contrast against his pale skin. "No, I'm staying here, there's nothing here that could hurt me... except maybe Mike, but I can deal with him" Okay, so Seanna was probably saying to much to a complete stranger, but who was he to tell her that she had to leave?.

"Why would I want to hurt you more than I already have...."
He muttered under his breath to Seanna, so that Seanna would be the only one whom would hear him. But none the less before he had said that, the sudden arrival of the man made him jump slightly, but then he remember his hand beside his wand and allowed it to roll into it before taking it in his palm but not removing it.
Just in case.....
"And like Seanna just said, we're fine and don't need some guy hassling us out "

(He didn't say anything about being a Professor Mike, you really shouldn't know that bit yet)
A most interesting turn of events indeed. So, the duck knew he existed but who was this man, this man who appeared just as suddenly from the shadows as he himself vanished among? Whomever he was, Robert had a feeling he was far more than ordinary passerby, though that yelling very easily could have woken him up form a nearby house. However, twot hings were certain, the man was of no threat to the children, but was certainly a threat to him should his presence be made awares.
The lurker took a breath however he refused to move from his shadowed abode, it was the only card he had at the moment, unless, of course this mysteriously dark lookng stranger had folled that card from his hand as well. There was certainly to be no action this night. However, observation would help. In another two weeks, he'd be gone from this area anyway and back northward toward Hogwarts. An ironic thing really, he'd told tamis he wouldn't belittle himself into running into the Underground and yet, where was he now, hiding in a shadow. Ha!
Such bitterly cruel things fate and destiny could be...

(Thanks Robert. You saved me the post.)
Juan listened to what the children were saying, but his attention was focused elsewhere. He knew that whoever was hidden in the shadows had not yet moved from his post. The vampire could hear his every movement: the shuffle of his feet as he quietly shifted position, his slow, controlled breathing, and of course, his heartbeat.
“That’s strange,” he noted as he realized that the heartbeat echoing in his ears was not the nervous fast-paced thump he’d been expecting, but rather a steady, constant, and unchanging rhythm.
“This man is either very brave or very strong,” he thought, and then another thought came to him, “Or perhaps he is both.”
A few moments passed while Juan was lost in thought and he soon became aware of eyes upon him, eyes besides those that observed from the shadows. The two students appeared to be awaiting some kind of response from him. He sighed and shook his head, at a loss for words for a moment.
“This is not a request,” he said coldly, “I did make a fair attempt to ask you nicely, but now I am done with games. It is far too dangerous for children and students to be out on these streets at night. As a matter of fact, it is far too dangerous for most regular folk to be out here alone at night.”
He turned his head slightly and stared directly at where he heard the heartbeat, “You never know who might be sneaking about,” his red eyes bore straight into the man he knew had to be there.

(Not a problem, no real harm done.)
The man's words, in fact the entire conversation for the past few moments had drifted across the air. The man couldn't talk lower, without arousing suspicion, but if he were to draw his wand and hex him, that would be even more unsatisfying to the situation. The only clear thing, was that this man was looking directly at him, and if looks could kill Robert would've been dead a whole twenty seconds ago.
Yes this man knew he was there, but Robert refused to back down. In fact, having someone spot him for a change, find him, see him brought him to a whole new field, a whole new level in this duel of conviction. No longer was he hunter alone, he was now both hunter and prey. It was, an interesting feeling, fear, concern for his own well being. He hadn't had that in a long time, in the months since the Thornton boy's kidnapping he'd forgotten just what power the thrill of the chase could hold over mortal man.

Seanna watched as Percy waddled over to the new victim and watched him with great big black eyes. Percy turned back his head towards Seanna and gave another shrill "Quack!" which Seanna thought that this man wasn't meant to be trusted either.
Seanna looked at the duck and nodded, before she turned her gaze to the pale looking man with one red eye. "And why might you be sneaking around tonight?" Seanna asked, knowing that Percy was telling her not to trust this man with the pale skin and the one red eye.

Juan noted the duck's odd behaviour around him. It was not unusual for animals to be spooked by Juan's presence. Animals have some sort of instinct that allows them to see any vampire for what he or she truly is. Perhaps it comes from the predator and prey relationship that animals share in the wild; vampires are hunters. Juan had gotten scratched by plenty an irritated cat in his day before he'd learned how calm the animals.
The vampire bent down and looked the duck in the eyes, before slowly lowering his gaze, to assure the fowl that he had no intentions of threatening it. Then he slowly placed a hand in front of its face, allowing it to get a good whiff of his scent. The animal should figure out that he had no intention of feeding off of it; it should have been able to sense that he had already fed and his fangs were not bared.
Juan wasn't sure whether or not that had helped, but nevertheless, he climbed back to his feet and dusted his black robes off. He had still not gotten used to the material, but he was required to wear them if he expected to teach at a wizarding school. Luckily, he was able to wear his normal attire underneath.
Throughout this, despite the fact that his eyes were turned from the shadows, his ears remained alert for any movement on the observer's part. The vampire was curious, but at the moment, he was more concerned with convincing the children to trust him and get off of the streets.
"I apologize. Let's begin again," he proposed, "My name is Juan Marcos. I will be a new professor at Hogwarts beginning next term. I was not sneaking anywhere, I was simply going for a walk. And before you protest, I must remind you that I am an adult, not a child. So, please, for the last time, take this argument somewhere safer before something bad happens."

Mmmm. The man might be an auror, and if he was, he was a bloody good one. While the man's attention turned back to the two students before him, Robert's guard went down not an inch. The man knew he existed, knew where he was, and could quite possibly have help somewhere nearby. Robert was in quite a catch 22, if he was wrong, and the man didn't know he was there, but Robert moved, he was done. And yet, if he stayed, he ran the risk of confrontation anyway. Confrontation was clearly unavoidable at this point, the real question was whether or not the confrontation would, could, wait until after the students relocated their dispute elsewhere. If they did, and he doubted they would. The inference, again, came with having taught them for over a year.
As the man's words drifted over to him, bring along with his identity, all was suddenly explained. Marcos. The newly hired vampiric professor of Hogwarts, yes this explained alot, it also gave his sources much more credibility than he personally had believed them deserving. The remaining stillness of the night providing an oddly movie-like moment cue that Robert jumped on and practically devoured in one shot.
"Come now..." Robert claimed, pocketing his wand. "The night is still very much young, young and comfortably enjoyable. I must concur with the gentleman however. The times, indeed are not the safest." Robert was taking a gamble, emerging hands empty, but looks of good faith, no matter how much a forgery, still seemed a great deal more diplomatic than armed conflict. Had the two Hufflepuffs remained alone, then perhaps the wand would have worked more, but he knew nothing of this man's capabilities and that surprisingly made him feel most, wary of the situation he was walking into.
Now provided this man was indeed a vampire, as his sources...well, source, had informed him, perhaps his conversation was better spent with him, rather than the younger blood that would soon be sheltered behind.

Percy, even though he took the scent of the man, or Professor as he so kindly pointed out for them, was still unsure about about him and he let out another shrill "Quack" and the duck turned it's black eyes back to it's owner. "I know, Percy" Looking at the duck and knowing that this man wasn't to be trusted, however much he suggested he was a new professor.
"Well, however much your going to be a Professor next term and however much you are adult, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you know that I am seventeen and that I am allowed to go for a sim-" Her words were cut short by yet another shrill "Quack" from the duck but this time the duck had turned it's head turned around and Seanna followed it's lead and found herself staring at the man who was once her Herbology Professor.
"You" Seanna spat out, her eye's flashing once more at the man who was also Drew's kidnapper. "How could you?, you mean..." There were other choice words she could use to describe Shaw but Seanna didn't want to sink down to that level... and to a student" But one simple question remained to be asked. "Why?, why did you do it?"

(Nope. No problem. You managed to avoid all of those. Not to mention that even if you had, you explained where Shaw got his info instead of just stating that he knew it. *applauds* Thanks for being aware of that.)
The professor gave a mental sigh of relief as the man he’d sensed chose this time to reveal himself. Juan had been having difficulty with his attention divided; he hadn’t known whether to put his back to the students or the stranger. Now as the man emerged he saw that he was not all the sketchy type the vampire had expected. He appeared to be a well dressed and well groomed wizard, very likely of superior breeding. In other times, this wizard may have been an aristocrat among his people.
But this did not, by any means, mean that Juan trusted the man. As a matter of fact, it only cast further suspicion upon the newcomer. The vampire remembered only too well the Death Eater’s obsession with pure bloodlines and the world was turning all too quickly towards that racism once again. He did, however, relax ever so slightly when he heard the man speak. This wizard appeared to be attempting to start out on good terms and he spoke sentiments similar to the ones Juan had already stated.
Only moments after the professor had decided to humor the man and grant him a proper greeting, he was set on alert again. One of the students, the girl, became quite flustered… no… downright agitated by his appearance. She apparently knew this man and she did not have anything good to say in regards to his person.
Now he was really confused; had this man been watching because he knew them or had it been a coincidence as the vampire had originally assumed? Juan looked back and forth between the two of them trying to read their expressions. The girl was obviously angry and it showed upon her face, distorting the features that had only been mildly perturbed by her companion just moments before. Juan understood; long ago his emotions had been just as visible, had he been in this situation then, his face might have shown how flustered and confused he was, but not now. The boy, the girl’s ‘companion’, had not yet reacted, but if the girl knew the man, the professor assumed the boy would as well. As for the aristocratic man… his expression had not changed; it was unreadable.
“Out of the mouths of babes come words of wisdom,” the vampire quoted, “What exactly have you done señor?”

[Sorry guys, been sick and my laptop wasn't working ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) ] A smirk appeared on Mike's lips as Shaw came out of the shadows, rather impressed by his old professors, from what Mike presumed, new found abilities. Mike thought about the situation before putting a hand out in front of Seanna. "Calm down and let him speak.....well why are you here Shaw?" Mike said in a surprisingly calm voice, too calm some would say but really whats the worst Shaw would do to him, he had no motive to do anything to Mike. Or did he have some sort of vendetta against him. Mike's smirk became more evident as his wand rolled into his open hand and slowly he closed it.

Ah Marcellus, quick to temper once provoked, regardless whether the words being spoken were wise, cautious. Had the man walked away like Robert had originally wished she mostlikely would have found herself wishing she had heeded them. However the man had not moved, and seemed oblivious to his recent...exploits. This surprised him, but what surprised him more was Rolen's willingness to let him speak. The boy seemed as eager as Seanna for an answer, however...his voice held a different air. It was intriguing, that the boy would be so care free, yet have the courage to arm himself. Robert made no motion to do such however, and even if he had drawn in defense, even if the boy and he had dueled, it wasn't as though the boy would win.
"Come now Mr...Marcos, was it not? I'm sure you know of my doings, my...secrets, just as I know of yours. However, Miss Marcellus, Mr. Rolen, since we are all...respectable...people, you will receive your answer." Robert paused, his eyes flicking to the soon to be professor with slight caution before continuing. "It's quite simple really, Mr. Thornton had information I needed, information he was most...reluctent to give. I assure you I did far less than I could have. It's not my fault his secondnary Gryffindor courage took chair over is Ravenclaw mind now is it?" His words had to be chosen carefully, if Marcos knew nothing of his wrong-doings, he might be able to avoid a second wand being drawn on him, one on nothing was bad enough.
