"Nice to meet you Freddy," Drew said with a smile, putting his hand out for the little guy to shake. Freddy seemed to be more interested in Felicity's present and Drew's feet for some reason.
"I thought that maybe we'd get something to eat and look at the lights," he answered the little boy's question. "There was a neat show I thought your aunt might like and there are a lot of booths and things to see."
The boy's next question made Drew grin and he really tried not to laugh, thinking it was kind of funny. "I really hadn't planned to. No, I'll do my very best not to step on her, okay?" Of course with his feet, he could never be quite sure.

Being cautious, he shook the giant's hand, sure he was going to rip it off very soon, and therefore pulled back quickly. Nodding his head, as though they were having the most important conversation of his life, he listened intently. The giant didn't say he was going to eat Felicity, so that was good.
"Okay," he smiled brightly. If he at least promised to try not to step on her, he could be happy with that. Staring at the box now, trying to remember what his next question was, he lost track. It was a present, it was wrapped, so that meant someone would be opening presents, and he wondered if Felicity had told the giant where she'd hidden the presents she wrapped. Freddy knew right where they were, he'd tried to get into them a couple of time, but he got in trouble for it.
He knew they belonged to him, so maybe Felicity would come in with them and he could watch them open them, that was always fun, and maybe if they didn't like something they'd give it to him. He could hope.
"Lissy likes you. She never asks to go anywhere, there was another giant here the other day, I wasn't home, but he took Lissy to the fesiful, too. But she keeps saying Drew, so I think she likes you," he stated, having heard her talking to her cousins and her mum and dad about the giant in front of him. "What's that?" he finally asked, pointing to the wrapped gift.

Giant? Drew bit back a laugh and wondering where the kid got a funny idea like that. "I'm not a giant," he told Freddy. "Have you ever met a giant? They're much bigger than I am. I wouldn't even come up to a giant's belly button... even if he was a really really short giant."
But it made him smile to know that Felicty talked about him... and that she liked him. Freddy had barely mentioned Lucas in his little speech.
"This?" Drew asked when Freddy pointed to the box, and the Ravenclaw held it up so Freddy might see it better. Drew had picked it out all by himself, but Allegra had wrapped it, being much better at the whole bow thing than he was. The box itself was a five inch cube wrapped in shiny gold paper. A big red bow had been tied around it with a minor explosion of curlie-cued ribbons accenting it. It reminded Drew of a giant firework actually. "It's a present for Felicity. You think she'll like it?"

Shaking his head, he thought about a movie he'd seen not long before about that had giants in it compared to real people, and he felt like those people looked. He didn't like that fact that the giant was now lying to him, trying to make him believe he wasn't a giant, but Freddy was smarter than that.
Nodding his head, relieved that the conversation had gone straight to the box, and didn't lead to him getting eaten or stepped on, he smiled. It was a present. "Probably, she likes presents, and even when she doesn't like something she finds a way to like them," he stated matter-of-factly. If she didn't like something she usually found something to do with it, and she even did that for some of his presents, too. "She has presents for you, too. I know where she hided them."
Freddy was quite proud of that fact, he hadn't told anyone else, but he did know where they were.
Finally, getting permission to duck Freddy out of the room, as her dad had been listening at the kitchen door the entire time while she pleaded with her mum, she sent Jacob to retrieve the boy. The eighteen year old gladly took the boy and shot Drew a look of distaste. Sure, Meadow might like him, and Felicity too, but that didn't mean he had to.
"Promise me you'll stay out for just a little while. Let me give him his presents, and then I'll introduce him to all of you and Freddy and us can get going, please promise?" Her plead being answered, she walked back into the living area, her head hanging slightly as Freddy, in Jacob's arms, leaned toward her and whispered in her ear.
"Freddy, that isn't very nice. How would you like it if he called you a gnome?" The boy didn't think much of that idea and made a face at her before he demanded to be taken to Grandpapa so he could tell his information.
"I'm sorry about that," she whispered as she sat down next to him, sure he was going to tell her to bugger off because of all of the hassle.

The Freddy round seemed to be over, but Drew wasn't sure what had come of it. Freddy was just a funny little kid and Drew could tell why Felicity adored him so much. An older boy came to collect the little one and Drew wasn't sure about the glare he got, but he answered with a nervous smile which only grew bigger when he saw Felicity was returning.
He jumped to his feet again, partially for the whole manners thing, but mostly because he was hoping this meant they were going. When she sat down on the sofa, he sat down as well, slightly disappointed, but glad there seemed to be a break in the interrogation.
"Don't be," Drew told her, still grinning. This was rough, but he kept telling himself it would all be worth it in the end. "Freddy's a cute kid. I like him. Make sure he knows I won't eat him or anything though, okay?"

"I'll do just that," she promised with her own grin. At least he hadn't stormed off yet. And she would be sure to tell the boy before they went out that there was to be no more talk of Drew being a giant. Otherwise she would be sure to take his gifts away from him. That would do the trick, she was sure of it.
"I think they're going to let us go in a few, but I have to introduce you to everyone that's here first," she explained, wondering why she really had to. There were a lot of people in the house, what was the point, it wasn't as though he'd remember all of them. "And I wanted to give you your gifts too, before we go. And you don't have to take them with you, I can put them back in my room before we leave, but I want you to open them first."
Standing up, she started up the stairs. "I'll be right back."
After a few moments, she finally returned, her packages in her arms. There were technically only two gifts, one for his birthday and one for Christmas, but there were two things wrapped together for the latter one.
"Here, this one first," she handed him his Christmas gift. She rather liked his birthday gift and wanted him to open that one last. The first box was an assortment of hard candies, reminiscent on the ones she'd offered him the day he helped her out of the tree. The only colour in the box was blue, and they all did different tricks, much like the one had. The second part was a new quidditch book that focused on the team he'd told her he liked from back home once.

As Felicity ran off again, Drew stayed on the couch, looking at the things around him and jiggling his knee nervously, a tic he had managed to supress quite nicely while the others had been in the room. He was on his feet again when she returned and he had to smile when he saw her. He had been so nervous that he hadn't even noticed she had cut her hair until then.
"That's an awful lot of presents," he said, taking the gift she handed over to him. "I just got you one." Still, he was very pleased with his gift and was pretty sure he wasn't going to come up short.

"Not really," she stated. "The one I just gave you is for Christmas, and this one," she shook the package in her hands a little. "Is for your Birthday. I felt bad about not getting you something, and I've been working on it for a while to get it right."
She really did feel partial to the gift in her hands, it hadn't cost much money to create, but it sure did take a lot of time. "And I told you, you didn't have to get me anything, so one is more than enough," she replied as she quickly leaned in and kissed his cheek, figuring everyone would be kind enough to really leave them alone for a minute. And a kiss on the cheek was hardly anything anyways.

"You got me a birthday present too?" he asked, his eyes open wide and sitting up up with surprise. "Shouldn't I open that one first then?" he asked, pointing to the package in her hand. His birthday had been over a month ago.
She gave him a quick kiss and he felt his face flush. "You can't do that..." he told her in a low nervous whisper as he looked quickly towards the stairs. Of course he had wanted to kiss her, at very least hold her hand, since he got there, but he knew he was already on thin ice and really didn't want to jeapordize it. "Your dad sees that and he's going to kill me for sure."

"Uh huh," she replied. "And no. I want you to open that one first." Felicity pointed at the bulkier package, leaving the thin one in her hands, quickly placing it behind her back in an attempt to guard it from him. He was not going to open that one first, she liked it too much so it would have to be second.
"I thought you said it was okay," she replied, wondering if it was only okay when he wanted her to kiss him. But he had said that she could kiss him whenever she wanted, and really it wasn't as though she were actually kissing him, it was on the cheek. When he explained further, doubt was wiped from her mind as she realized what he'd meant. "He said he'd leave us alone for a few minutes, and I wouldn't let him do that, I like you too much."
Grinning, she nudged him and turned to look at him. "So, are you going to open that so you can open the other one?"

"He's going to kill me..." Drew insisted, but he grinned a little, feeling a bit safer as he tore into the first package. The box was interesting and he looked at her curiously as he opened it to reveal the candy inside. He thought it was a little unusual at first, givng a box of all blue candy, until he realized they were all magical sweets. As he started to wonder if that neat sparky one was included, he figured out what it meant and grinned at her. "You going to make me share with you?" he asked, wishing he had enough nerve to kiss her a thank you.

"Mmm...maybe," she grinned at him. He seemed to get the meaning behind it, and that made her afternoon at that point. And there were the cool sparky ones included, she'd made sure to special order a whole bunch of those since he'd seemed to like the one so much, until she made him choke on it accidentally.
Really, she didn't need him to share his candy, she had her own well stashed in an area even Freddy wouldn't think to look.
"All right, next part," she pointed at the second part of his gift. The only thing with it was she hoped no one else had already given it to him. It'd come out just in time to make a great gift, and since it wasn't exactly a secret he liked the team, she figured someone might've already given it to him. But if they had, she'd just take it back and get him something else.

"And then you'll open your present, right?" he asked hopefully, his leg starting to jiggle again in anticipation. He was liking his presents so far, but he was really looking forward to having hers opened.
He stripped open the second half to reveal a book featuring the Ashwinders, the whole team on the front cover, grinning smuggly at the reader. "Hey, this is pretty cool!" he told her with his own wide grin, flipping through the pages to see the pictures in action. "Look here... my cousin..." he said proudly, turning to Tad's stat page.

"If you want me to," she nodded her head. She was curious to know what he got her, but she was also too excited about his Birthday gift to let curiosity reign. Felicity watched as he tore off the shiny blue paper to reveal the book, which she watched the expression on his face seemed generally pleased.
The blonde leaned into him a little to look at the page he held open to her, though she'd already seen it. He talked about his cousin a little bit and she was curious, so she had let curiosity beat her at that one.
"So, you like it then?" she decided to ask to make sure.

She leaned in and he could smell her soap and decided he couldn't help it any more. He gave her a small kiss on her temple and sat a little closer. "I like it a lot. Thank you," he said softly. But it was time for his present to her and as he handed her the box his knee started to jiggle again. Under Allegra's wrapping job was a crystal snow globe Drew had found in Diagon Alley. It sat on a golden base with an intricate lace like pattern. Inside the globe was a winter scene that may have looked like a standard snow globe winter scene, but with a closer look, you could see the figures moving around, sledding, skating, or ducking inside the house with an armful of firewood. Drew thought it was brilliant and as he waited for her to open it, he bit on his lip, hoping she liked it. { Don't do this}
