With her father safely away from them for a few minutes, Felicity felt it was safe enough to move in as close as she could to talk to Drew. Settling as close as she could get without being in his lap, she tapped his leg lightly and turned to look up at him with her light brown eyes.
"Yes you, silly," she answered with a grin. "You look like him, like you were just caught doing something you shouldn't have been doing." Of course, the reddening of his ears wasn't doing much to disprove the expression he wore. "We're just playing a game, right? So, why the look?"

Now he could feel his ears pink up and as she scooted closer, he nervously glanced at the doorway that Mr. Hjort had retreated through. When she was that close, he really wanted to kiss her and no silly little paper boy would work for a stand in.
"You're dad doesn't like me. You're going to get me in trouble!" Drew answered in a low voice, feeling like that pretty much covered everything. He said it with a smile, but he was deadly serious.

"My dad doesn't know you, so how can he like or dislike you?" It was a fair enough question in her mind, though she was thinking along the same lines as he was, that her dad didn't like the boy. However, Felicity was pushing it off making herself believe it was because he was being protective of her, and it worked out in her mind if she told herself that.
"And we're not doing anything, so how am I going to get you in trouble?" They were playing Chutes and Ladders, not poker. And what was wrong with sitting close to someone she was interested in? Cherry often sat right on her boyfriend in front of Felicity's dad, and he didn't ever say anything about it to her, so Felicity didn't see what was wrong with sitting so close when they weren't doing anything they shouldn't be.

"Your dad doesn't like me," Drew repeated, positive of that statement. The mere fact that Drew was a boy and dating Felicity was probably more than enough for Mr. Hjort to dislike him and Drew wasn't sure anything could change that.
"You sit this close and I'm going to want to kiss you," he admitted, keeping his voice as low as possible, for fear of being overheard from the kitchen. "And if I kiss you, then I'll be in trouble... so it's all your fault really."

"Well, maybe not right now," she admitted to Drew in a soft voice. "But, he can't really not like you when he doesn't know you. I mean, you told him a little bit about you, but really, there's a whole lot more he doesn't have a clue about." Looking up and trying to catch his eyes, she smiled gently. Her dad would have to get to know Drew eventually, she hoped, because she really like him and wanted her family to as well.
Faintly blushing, Felicity broke her gaze and looked down her freckled nose as she turned away from him a little. It was nice to hear she could make him want to kiss her. "And you have a problem with me sitting this close?" she asked with a light tease in just as quiet a voice. "Because I think wanting to kiss me isn't a bad thing, but if you were to take action, then it really isn't my fault. Because, I can't make you kiss me, but if you don't want me to sit here, then tell me and I'll move."
Her brown eyes were back on Drew, her smile as bright as it had been all night, and the tease in her tone was more than evident that she enjoyed what he had to say.

Drew wasn't about to ask her to move away of course. The urge to kiss her was pretty storng, but the threat of having his neck wrung by her father was just a little bit stronger so Drew figured he could fight the temptation.
"No, it's totally your fault," he insisted none the less, putting one hand on her knee just incase she started thinking that was him telling her to move away. "Because I think you can make me do it, so then it has to be your fault, right? I mean, sometimes I just have to and I really don't have a choice, y'know?"

Felicity wasn't understanding how he thought she could make him want to kiss her, but she wasn't going to argue either. If he felt like kissing her, that was a good thing, right? It was when he didn't want to kiss her she should worry, she was sure of that.
Placing her hand on top of his, she grinned at him. Sometimes it was easier for her to tell when he was teasing than others, and she didn't think he was telling her to go away that time, even if he hadn't told her he wanted her close to him.
"But, it isn't a bad thing, is it?" Felicity asked for clarification. While she was sure his answer would be no, she wanted to be clear. Mainly because he said he didn't have a choice.

"Only if I do it in front of your dad," Drew answered with a crooked smile. Her hand felt warm on his and fortunately it made the urge to kiss her more managable. He let go of her knee to link his fingers with hers and his smile grew wider as his voice fell lower. "But no, not a bad thing at all."
It was the freckles. He was sure that was the source of her power. He had been pretty sure of it ever since that day she jumped out of the tree at him.

"That's good," she answered. "And it makes me feel pretty special, too." It wasn't like the grin on her face showed that she liked he felt that way, even if she didn't understand how she could make him want to kiss her. But, Drew said it wasn't a bad thing, so she was pretty pleased with the situation over all.
Taking a chance, Felicity glanced in the direction of where her dad had disappeared to, and seeing nothing out of the ordinary, she wrapped her arms around the blue-eyed Ravenclaw quickly. While it wasn't a lengthy embrace, it was nice enough for her.
"And it's your turn."

Drew gave a low giggle when she hugged him, sounding a bit like a tenor version of the Pillsbury Doughboy. Of course kissing her was a pretty good thing. It was just a bummer he couldn't do anything about it at the moment.
He took the die and rolled another two, landing on 37. it was one of those squares that just had a bit of ladder in one corner so Drew looked at Felicity just to make sure he understood the rule correctly. "No extra roll, right?"

"Right," Felicity told him. "Since its got that bit of ladder in the corner there, you don't get another roll." He'd previously clarified that particular square with her only moments before, but she didn't mind telling him he was right. "If the ladder didn't pass through slightly, you'd get to have another go, but since it does, you don't."
The instructions were pretty simple, but she understood that since he hadn't played that way before that it would be a bit confusing. Then again, they were a confusing pair at times, thankfully though they weren't being overly so at that moment.
"All right, my turn." Grinning at the boy, she grabbed the die and rolled a five. Moving her girl up to space twenty-three, Felicity pouted slightly, but it was an exaggerated pout. While the game was going strong, she was losing and was a bit behind. Then again, the game was all about luck.

"You're doing it again..." Drew said, doing his best not to even look at that pertruding bottom lip of hers. He'd have to kiss it, plain and simple, if he did. But since her playing piece was so close, he let the cardboard boy get a quick one before taking up the die again.
A quick shake and toss landed him a five and he landed on square 42, letting his playing piece do a little happy dance as he followed suit.

"Is it distracting?" Felicity asked playfully. Even if the game wasn't one that required a lot of focus, she could play around a little bit with the idea of being distracting for Drew. Of course, she wouldn't ever do it on purpose unless they were playing around, but it made her feel a little special again.
Seeing the cardboard boy kiss her girl made her face light up again, it was cute. And being her turn, she rolled again, getting a four, which placed her at twenty-seven. If it'd been a five, she could've climbed the ladder all the way up, but then again, she still had another chance to get on the square.

"Very..." Drew answered seriously as if it was keeping him from properly stratergizing his next move. Of course, it wasn't like there was any special skill in throwing the die. He took it up again and made his roll, watching as it landed on another tw.
"There should be a special thing for landing at the top of a ladder," he commented, noticing that this was the second time he had done it in a row.

Giggle softly, Felicity didn't say anymore about being distracting though she would have loved to. Instead, she focused her attention on what he was doing for the game, thinking it would be best if she bit her tongue before their conversation escalated to something her dad heard.
"There could be," Felicity grinned, unable to help herself with that tiny little comment. "Then again, we'll have to see." Grabbing the die, Felicity rolled, hoping for a one, instead receiving a two. Again, slightly disappointed.
Taking her little girl, she skid to twenty-eight, climbed up the ladder to sixty-six, jumped over to the chute, slid down to forty-four, leaned over far enough to grab a kiss from the boy piece at forty-four, jumped off at twenty-four and ran down to twenty-nine where she came to a final rest.
"Special enough?"
