Well, it better have been okay, she didn't mind him hanging out with his friends and she surely expected him not to mind her hanging out with hers. It wasn't like he could give her permission anyway, she would've done what she wanted to, whether or not he liked it.
And then he kind of confused her, but not in a bad way. He just made her stop all thought processes to figure out one thing he'd said. Had he called her his girlfriend? It wasn't like she was going to argue him calling her that, but she thought they were just not friends...and she wondered when she'd missed the memo of the change. However, she tried to stay focused on what it was he was saying, doing her best not to dwell on it. He probably hadn't called her that, most likely he'd just been talking and it came out that way, without his meaning it to.
"I think it is," she replied, believing in full that it was indeed different. She liked Lucas, but she didn't like him. "I mean, I really like you, too, and no one else. At least, no one else makes me feel funny like you do. And I like how you make me feel."
Yes, she opted not to bring up whether or not he had called her his girlfriend.

Drew nodded, feeling a little more confident about the situation. She had said she liked him best, so why was he finding it so hard to believe? He just hoped he started beliving it before she got tired of trying to convince him about it.
"I'm being stupid, aren't I?" he finally asked, trying on a sheepish grin. Hopefully she'd forgive him a bit more for being such an idiot.

Replying with a slowly creeping grin, she tried to think of a nicer way of putting it, but really he was just being stupid about it. Not in a bad way of being stupid, but how many times did he have to have her tell him she liked him before he understood? It wasn't as though she minded telling him, but she would've thought he'd picked up on it by this point.
"Maybe...a little bit..." she finally said, stepping closer and wrapping her arms around his middle and resting her head against him. "But I still like you," she teased gently, hoping he'd understand she wasn't calling him stupid, because she really didn't think he was. Actually, she thought he was pretty bright.
Tilting her head back a little, she bit her lip nervously, and caught his eye. "I really like you, a lot."

His smile grew a bit more as he felt a little better. And, no, he didn't mind that she was agreeing that he was an idiot, just as long as she still liked him. It made him feel even better having her up against him liek that and he wrapped his arms around her and rested his cheek on the top of her head.
"Enough to let me see you on New Years?" he asked, wondering if he would be pushing his luck with her dad. Drew didn't expect for a second that he'd get to keep her out past midnight, but maybe other arrangements could be made to bring in the New Year properly.

Pressing nto him a little more, looking more for the comfort than the warthm, she smiled, but didn't answer right away. Felicity would've loved to see him on New Years, knowing she wouldn't probably see him they were back at Hogwarts again, but she didn't know if she'd be allowed to. However, if she remained good, and did her chores, and their date went well this time around and she was back on time, she didn't see how her dad could possibly have a problem with it.
"Enough that you don't have to ask to see me," she replied, sighing contentedly against him. "But I would like to, if you really want to. I'm pretty sure I'd be able to as long as I don't get in trouble between now and then," she added, hoping he understand. If she got in trouble, it be a definte no to seeing him, but she'd managed to remain good this past week, why shouldn't she be able to for another? Ignoring the fact that she lived with too many people, it shouldn't bee too hard.
"Do you really not have any other plans?" she asked, wondering if he did. If he did, she'd tell him to do what was previously planned, it wasn't like she was a priority or anything.

Drew wasn't sure what kind of trouble she could possibly get into (he, of course, could find lots of trouble to get into in a week), but he knew he would do his part by getting her home that evening as well as leaving at a decent hour.
But her question caught him by surprise and he pulled back a little to give her a confused look. "It's New Years. What other plans would I have?"

"Exactly that," she replied, giving him her own confused look. "It's New Years. A lot of people make plans weeks in advanced to do something with their friends and whatnots," she added, thinking maybe he hadn't understood what she'd meant. "I just meant, if you'd already made plans with your friends or your sister or something, I..." she didn't want to say she could wait, because she really didn't think she'd be able to. She didn't want to say she didn't mind, because in a way, she did. "I'd understand."
That kind of worked. She'd understand if he'd already made plans, he didn't have to put those one's on hold because of her if he didn't want to. "I mean, if you had plans already made, I'd understand if you'd rather do those." But if he had, why would he be asking to spend New Years with her only to turn around and say he'd already made plans, that just didn't make sense, did it? No.

Well, now he was even more confused. He had finally reached a point where he was okay with the whole thing and then she throws this curveball. She said yes, but was now trying to give him a way out? Did she really not want to see him? Was she scolding him for not asking her earlier? Did she already have plans and was thinking he was inviting himself along?
He fell silent for a bit, thinking it all over before he started stuttering again. "I w...want to... be with... with you... I mean... isn't that... isn't that what you're supposed to do on New Years?"

Felicity wanted to be with him too, and she was regretting thinking he'd already had plans but was taking a sort of pity and feeling the need to ask to see her. She really needed to stop doing that, she'd told him she'd try to make sense of things before jumping into first thoughts, but it was quite obvious to her that she needed to try harder.
Taking a deep breath, she let her eyes drop from his gaze to try to get her thoughts in some sort of easily read and spoken assembly.
"Drew," she started tentaively, pulling her arms from around him and grabbing his hands from around her instead. "I want to be with you. I'd like to be with you on New Years. I'd like to be with you to see the new year come in if I can. I'd like to be with you after the new year rolls in," she tried her best to explain. "I just thought that maybe you'd already made plans with your sister or Arianna or someone and was going to tell them you'd changed your mind about those plans, and I didn't want you to do that if you did have previous plans already made."
Looking back up to him, she wasn't sure if she was making any more sense than before, but she sure hoped she had. "I don't have plans for then, at least not real ones. Usually all we do is sit around and talk and laugh and eat, my family and me, so it's not like I have actual plans. But I'd like to be with you then," she explained, trying to emphasize the point that she wanted to be with him, if he wanted to be with her.
"I mean, I don't know what you're supposed to do on New Years, other than at midnight," she grinned at him. "But I would like to see you, if it's all right."
Of course, he'd already asked to see her, and she had said yes, but what if he'd changed his mind in that little amount of time? What if she'd said something wrong? There wasn't anything keeping him from changing his mind, it wasn't as though she had any kind of hold over him to make him stop from changing his mind. All she could do was hope he understood that she really, really liked him, she wanted to see him, and she wanted to be with him, even if she wasn't always sure he did with her with how confusing she made things for him.

"Why would I ask you out if I already had plans though?" Drew asked, still confused. Even if he had made plans, they would have been very tentative, totally contingent on what plans he could make with the Gryffindor.
"I really want to spend New Years with you... and if that means we're staying at your folks' house, I'm more than okay with that." Even if it meant having Mr. Hjort and Jacob glaring at him all night, if he got to be with Felicity, he'd do it.

"Well, some people do it," she answered, knowing full-well Drew wasn't one of those people. But it did happen, and she didn't want to be the cause of lost plans. It just wasn't right. "I mean, I don't think you would do that, but you might have and had forgotten-- or something of the sort. It does happen, you know. I just didn't want someone to be mad at you if you'd made plans already and didn't go through with them, is all."
So she was merely digging herself in a deeper hole it seemed, but she didn't really see how she could get out without telling him what she'd been thinking.
Biting her lip, mostly ashamed, she vowed she'd try her hardest to figure out a way to wing it so she could spend New Years with him, at least right up till midnight. There had to be a way...even if it wasn't the most enjoyable way, she'd figure something out.
"You wouldn't mind if it meant staying at my house to celebrate?" she asked, smiling. If he didn't mind too much, if she couldn't get out of the house, she was pretty sure her parents wouldn't mind him being there, the more the merrier. Reaching up on her tiptoes, she softly kissed him, hoping he'd understand she hadn't meant to confuse him in anyway, but that she'd just been worried about being the source of problems.

'I don't think I'd forget that I wanted to make plans with you and make some other plans by accident," he told her with a smirk. And even if he had, there was only one person he could think of that would get upset with him and he was positive he hadn't made plans with her.
"Do you think your folks would go for that?" Drew asked hopefully, thinking that even if they made him go home at 11, he would still have a good amount of New Year's Eve with Felicity.

"Yes, as long at tonight goes well I don't think they'd have a problem with it," she told him. "I don't know about actually letting me go out, but even if not, I think they'd be all right with you coming over, if it's okay with you." Felicity hoped he'd be okay with it, actually she was sure he would be. After all, he did ask if he could see her.
"Are you sure your sister would be all right with it?" she asked, knowing he was spending most of his vacation with her. Of course, she hoped the rest of his family would be all right with it as well, being she wasn't sure if his parents would still be around.

He grinned back, pleased that his prospects looked so good. "My sister? Yeah, she'll be cool as long as I tell her what time I'll be home," Drew answered. It wasn't really a curfew, so much as a consideration... or at least that's how she explained it to him. "But yeah, if your folks are okay with it, I'm fine hanging out at your house. Allegra's started seeing some guy so I don't think she'll mind if I come home a little later than usual."

"As I said, as long as things go well tonight and I'm good and stay out of trouble, I really don't see any problems with it," she grinned. Felicity was feeling a little giddy about already technically having another date set up with him, after all, it meant she'd get to see him again. That was always a good thing in her book. "Especially if Allegra won't mind, I don't see why my parents would. I mean, dad will be dad and he might grumble, but he's like a big teddy bear trying to be a grizzly. And mum seemed to like you enough, so I really don't see problems."
Of course, that was from her own perspective. And everyone that had a chance to meet him seemed all right with him, except Jacob and Freddy, but the little one would get over and Jacob would just have to accept the fact that she wanted to be with Drew. If he didn't like it, tough.
"So...is everything all right now?" she asked tentatively, unsure if things were momentarily fixed or not. She really hoped they were, because she kind of wanted to get to Diagon before losing too much more time, and she didn't like the confusion they brewed together. In fact, she was much happier when he was, when they seemed to be on the same sentence.
