As much as she would have loved to tell him no, that she wanted to just stay right there and not move from that spot...they were outside of the bathrooms.
"I'm going to say yes," she smiled brightly at him. "We should head into Diagon, and look at the vendors, and listen to some music," she grinned. She was going to make sure they got to dance, one, because it meant he'd be holding onto her again, and two, because she liked it. "And look at how the fairy lights reflect on the snow."

"Okay then," he answered giving her one more quick kiss before taking her hand up again and leading her to the back of the pub where they could enter Diagon. He swung her arm happily as he opened the rear door and let her out to the weedy courtyard where the trash cans were lined up.
As he pulled his wand and faced the wall the anticipation got to him and he tapped on the bricks with a little dance, humming to himself as he waited for the entrance to be revealed.

Following the direction Drew took her hand in, she tried to hold off the laughter that tickled her throat. He ws definitely acting happier than he had when he'd gone to her house to pick her up, and that made her happy. When he stopped to open the pathway, she had to work even harder not to giggle at him. He was so adorable.
Instead, she stepped up really close beside him and wrapped her arms around his middle. Drew was warm, and she was a little chilly, all right, so she wasn't, but she sure did like having her arms around him.
"Did you just want to go down the line of vendors, or did you have a specific one you wanted to look at?" she asked, wondering if he had a gameplan.

So maybe it wasn't so bad going to a Yule Festival after Christmas. He wasn't sure if it was the girl beside him or not, but the whole place seemed to be a lot brighter than it had been just a few days ago. Even in the dull shadows of late afternoon, everything seemed more sparkley or something.
"Nothing in particular," Drew answered, grabbing her around the shoulders and pulling her closer, rubbing her arm to keep her warm. The vendors were the usual assortments of local shops and private sellers, mostly pushing holiday crafts and goods. They were all neat to see but not anything he was afraid to miss. Of course that didn't mean he didn't have a gameplan. "I just thought we'd go up this way, hit the stage and maybe grab a bite, go across and see the street performers, head back down that side, maybe check out some of the shops, and then watch the light show?"

It sounded as though he'd had a plan all along, but was merely checking with her to be sure she didn't mind doing anything in particular first. Of course, Felicity didn't mind at all. Whatever he wanted to do was fine with her, as long as it didn't mean him running off on her. That wouldn't have been nice, nor was she sure her dad wouldn't hunt him down for it either. Good thing she was pretty sure he wouldn't do something like that.
"All right," she grinned and tilted her head to look at him. Yes, he'd definitely had it planned out. "That sounds excellent," she agreed. He was even including the stage which she had liked when she'd been there with Lucas, and the way he was telling her, it sounded like they'd hear lots of music, and see a lot of things that there were. Not that she hadn't seen most of it with Lucas, but she wanted to see it all with Drew too, to see what he had to say about certain things, what he found amusing, just little stuff like that. And he wanted to see the light show, which she thought maybe he was most interested in, and she didn't mind that one bit.
Pulling a little on him, she made him move closer to the vendors with her. While he was tall and could easily see over the crowds what was for sale, it wasn't quite so easy for her.

Drew grinned back as she agreed to his suggestion. Yes, he had spent hours planning things out, but still, for a plan it was very flexible. even though she had agreed to it, he figured there might be some detours. A good plan made accomodations for unforseeable events.
She pulled him closer to the vendors and he stood behind her wrapping his arms around her middle. Still, he managed to get a dirty look from a witch whose view he was obviously blocking. He felt bad, but was used to it. There really wasn't much he could do about short people unless he totally moved away from his date, something he wasn't willing to do.

Those butterflies in her stomach decided to act up again when he slid his arms around her, but she was sure every nerve in her body was jumping into action and he'd be able to feel them all. It didn't bother her, but it sure did make her feel funny, but good at the same time.
There wasn't much being sold at the first little cart, it looked more like scraps of junk than anything, and it wasn't the type of junk that could be turned into another man's treaure. Moving right along to the vendor near the first, she paused. This one was selling fragrants, of all sorts. He had candles, powders, soaps, liquids, pouches he was swearing would carry the scent they held for all eternity, he was getting attention by shouting that certain fragrants would attract luck, love, and fortune.
He turned a little and looked directly at her and Drew and pointed at her, saying something about how he wanted to use Felicity as a subject and reaching out to pull her to him to show off his guaranteed promise about a scent that would attract luck for her. Unfortunately, she didn't want to be pulled from Drew's arms.

Drew was interested in the scent man and would have probably ended up buying something there except for the fact that he started zeroing on Felicity. If she had been willing to try what the man offered, Drew would have let her go, but she pulled back from the vendor and Drew smiled and shrugged back at the man before quickly steering the Gryffindor to the next booth.
The lady behind the neighboring counter was peddling Christmas baubles which were now half-price. She was claiming to have hand made every single one, but Drew was pretty sure he had seen similar ornaments in Muggle stores. All she had probably done was charmed them to sing or sparkle or fly around the tree. Drew picked up a tree topping star that glowed brightly and sang Christmas songs. He gave her a wide grin and placed it on top of Felicity's head before stepping back a bit to admire his work. "Yeah.. much better than a pinata I think," he told her.

Yes, Drew was correct in his thinking. Felicity's dad had actually just boughten one of the same ornaments she had for sale for her mum for Christmas.
When he put one of the tree stars on her, she couldn't help but giggle, it was kind of funny, and she was sure she probably looked ridiculous. "Are you now saying I'm the tree?" she asked teasingly. First he'd called her an angel, then basically a pinata, now she was a tree? "Because if I am, I sure am a lonely one with only one little ornament."
The nicest trees always got lots of little things, but she liked the scrawny one's herself. Someone had to like them after all, otherwise they'd be lonely for all of time. And she was sure the trees felt better all prettied up.

"Nu-uh, I thought you were the angel on top," Drew answered wondering how she could remember all of that suff about his underwear, but not about their encounter by the tree. Granted, it had been a corney line, but he hadn't meant for it to be at the time. That had to count for something.
"But yeah, I guess you wouldn't put a star and an angel on top, would you?" he continued, wondering if he could find something more angel like to use.

"Yes, but since when do Angels wear ornaments?" she asked, smiling up at him. "Aren't angels usually the ornament on the topmost branch? I mean, that would mean I'd probably have to shimmy up a tree and stand there on top, with ornaments hanging from the branches below me."
Why would an angle wear another angel, or a star? Maybe a halo, but definitely not the other two.
He turned around to look back over the wares, and she slipped the star off, sitting it back on the counter. Unexpectedly, she jumped onto the boy's back, and squeezed him gently. "And since there aren't any trees, I guess you'll have to do," she whispered in his ear before kissing it softly. "And I think you're a bit more comfortable than one, too."

He gave a surprised "oof," when she jumped on his back but of course she wasn't all that heavy, and he hitched her up so he could get a better hold on her. He snickered a little when she kissed his ear, liking how it tickled, before grinning att the ornament vendor and making his way to the next booth. He didn't think he could carry her all day, but he definitely didn't mind her on his back. If nothing else, it made manuvering through the crowd easier.

Well, she hadn't expected him to actually carry her over to another vendor, rather she expected him to make another comment and wiggle her off, but this worked for her. At least from this height she could see what was for sale without having to get right up in the vendor's face, even if she was more interested in searching for the spot on him that smelled really good. This time though, she'd have to search really hard because of his jacket.
This particular vendor though had little wooden carvings for sale. They didn't appear to do anything, but they looked interesting from where she was. If she wasn't on Drew's back, she would've been pulling him right up front to look at them.

Drew found the wooden pieces interesting and, making sure he still had a good hold on Felicity, he reached to take one up, picking a small mooncalf that was obviously carved from pine. He held the figure up to his nose to smell the sweet vanilla scent of the wood before holding it over his shoulder for Felicity to see. "These are pretty cool," Drew told the man who seemed pleased with the compliment.

And her search ended when he passed the carving to her. It was really cute, and she recognized the creature from one of her text books, but she couldn't remember what it was. Keeping one arm around his neck, she accepted the carving to look at it better. It was pretty neat, and she didn't know why she'd missed this vendor a few days ago, then again, they hadn't exactly done this run down of Diagon.
Holding it up to her nose she sniffed and giggled a little. "It smells kind of like my soap," she told Drew, the reason why she hadn't wanted the fragrance guy messing with her. Felicity liked the smell of herself, the vanilla was nice and soothing, one reason her mum had given it to her and kept buying the stuff. She told her it was to help keep her calmer, and it seemed to work.
