"The Huffles are okay. Krissy and some guy named Alex seem to have them taken care of,"
The Head Boy could only nod in reply, that made all houses accounted for and in highly capable hands. It was moments like these that made him wonder why the Head of House position even rightfully existed. There was at least one student with their head in the game in every upper year of every house and the younger ones could mature into that mold. Students led students, That was what it boiled down to right? With the house matter settled Corey’s thoughts returned to their wandering ways in silence, only to be brought back to the table in a crash and burn scenario of diplomacy.
If tensions had been high between Drew and Felicity, Corey hadn't picked up on it until the circuit breaker in his housemate seemed to blow. If the other girl wanted to leave, by all means she had the right to and quite frankly he was willing to bet that Celina wasn't the only one in the Great Hall in need of relieving their lower extremities. When nature called you answered, it was just that right simple. Needless to say that while the tempers and words flew back and forth Corey was too stunned to actually even begin to contemplate intervening, yet alone know exactly how to intervene in the first place. What was going on was far different from two guys slugging it out on the quidditch pitch or a duel in the corridors. Physical, he could stop, verbal, well that was more in Keagan’s department he was sure. However when the fifth year began to come apart at her seams he was pretty sure it was either he intervene or there’d be hexes coming from the wall guards.
“Hey…hey…cool it. We don’ need any more trouble than we’ve already go’ an’ you two goin’ at it ain’ gonna get us any less for certain. If the lass wants to use the bathroom then let her use the bloody bathroom. They can’ be tha’ inhumane.” Corey claimed while giving Drew a look that basically read confused, intrigued and worried all at the same time the argument seemed like a stupid thing to have considering their circumstances but if it was a romantic feud they wanted they could at least do it right and yell at each other while standing…

Drew wasn't about to let Celina go anywhere. Corey had obviously not seen that guy get up close and personal with her. Inhumane? That didn't even begin to cover it. The faceless man had whispered in her ear, and while that alone would have been unnerving, there had been a sense of intimacy about it that made Drew sick just thinking about it. And the fact that she wanted to put herself out there, so soon after the incident with Brady? Drew just didn't understand that. No way was he letting Celina go anywhere.
"I don't think you even know what you're talking about!" Drew hissed back at Felicity, confused as to why she'd even think he'd do that to her. Sure he had his hand on Celina's ankle, but it wasn't like he had accepted a gold locket from the girl or anything.

Glancing at the ebony-haired girl, she didn't know what to say. She knew the words, but how to say them together and in a particular order, that she didn't know. Before given the chance to form a sentence that any English speaking person would be proud of, she caught it. Again, and this time it was Celina. Once more, right in front of her. Her friend's hand was on Drew's, and Felicity felt the tears trying even harder.
At Corey's words, she stopped herself from saying anything to the girl. Was there really a point in it all when it was obvious neither of them cared? Not even in front of her? Instead of saying what burned to be said, she sat back up, wishing to go anywhere that even the faceless people would let her. Though, she doubted she'd be allowed anywhere.
And then she heard Drew, and did she ever want to kick him, no not even kick him. She wanted to outright hit him. Accusing her of not knowing what she was saying, that was downright ridiculous, she knew exactly what she was trying to say.
But she still couldn't bring herself to say it, not when Corey had just blatantly told them to stop. No, instead she brought her face down to her arms and let the tears fall. She didn't care, Drew didn't like her like she thought he had, and well...that was the end of it, wasn't it? Jacob had told her it would happen, her dad had agreed, why hadn't she just listened to them? Because she wanted to believe he couldn't do something like that to her, but he quite obviously had.

For fifteen years, Celina only knew of two things that she even considered more important to her than even her own life. One of them being making her parents proud of an accomplishment that she achieved without any one's help, and the other was her brother. At this moment, Drew was becoming less and less of anything she found important. "I said...let go." Celina was stern as her nails started to dig into the boy's hand. She didn't want to hurt him, but it seemed as if every time she needed to be someplace or he kept her from doing something it always had to come down to violence in some small manner. The last had been conveniently when Drew had tried to keep her away from Alfonz, also. The only difference between then and now was that then, Alfonz had told Drew to keep her safe from the dangers he put himself in, this time, he was just getting in the way.
Looking up and glaring at Drew as he spoke to Felicity and ignored Corey completely Celina didn't see how anything else would work. "If you don't let me go Thornton......" she didn't want to finish her sentence. Because what came next was her doing something majorly drastic, and not even she wanted to go that far. Unfortunately, like Drew should have known, she would if she had to.

Drew thought he had been pretty immune to tears for a couple of years now, but seeing Felicity crying proved him wrong. It killed him to know that he was the reason behind the tears despite the fact that he hadn't even done anything wrong.
What killed him even more was the fact that keeping Celina in the Great Hall was his priority at the moment. He was confident that he could patch things up with Felicity but Celina was in immediate danger and even though she was digging her nails into his hand, he still kept hold of her ankle.
They were both nuts, that was clear and how did you deal with nuts? With Celina fairly secure he did his best to deal with the Gryffindor, wishing he wasn't is such an awkward position that he could hold her. "Felicity... come on..." he said softly, not sure what the words meant, but just hoping she'd stop crying.

Shocked. Celina let go and sat back fidgeting in Drew's tight grasp.
Drew, even though Celina subtly told him to let go, still ignored her request to speak to Felicity. Celina wasn't upset about that. It was not hard to see that Felicity needed someone more than she, but at least he could have told her no or asked her why or something! Not that she would even give him the dignity of telling him anything that was remotely true. It was at that moment that she remembered why she had never made friends. That very moment she remembered why she hated hero's.
Friends got in the way. Alfonz had said it many times, and she knew that they interfered and took time away from one's studies. How many times had she seen it with others in the past? Not to mention, with her own grades so far that year? Yes, she stayed away from people who claimed to be friends because they got in the way of what needed to be done. And when it came to hero's, she couldn't stand them. Always thinking that it was their job to keep someone safe. It was his luck Alfonz hadn't hexed him on the spot back there. Maybe someone needed to reevaluate where they stood.
And then there was Drew Thornton. Someone, who before this year, didn't care that she didn't know. There was too much work to be done then to mess with anyone, but now that she was, he couldn't let her go. What was that? Celina was with mixed feelings. Her next actions, would cost her and she knew it. What else she knew, is that among everything, Drew needed to learn that he had to let go sometimes. Celina could tell it went deeper than just this scenario. How could she tell? The look in his eyes, the concern for both of the girls but the pulling at either end. It was the same look Alfonz had in his eyes as he watch Shay walk away in Diagon Alley. Celina didn't know exactly what it meant, but she knew that if one of them left, Drew would be a bit more like Alfonz in the sense that he would feel as if he lost something. A void would open, and unfortunately, Celina knew that she had to be that void.
Predictable, maybe, but Drew was preoccupied trying to comfort Felicity so with her other foot that Drew was not holding on to kicked as hard as she could the hand that was on her. She hoped he would let go after this so that she could scurry away. If he didn't, she'd scream for Shaw himself. At least with her screaming, she was sure Alfonz would run to her aid as well.

Come on?!?!? What did he want? He'd already gotten it all pretty much, hadn't he? He'd been he first crush, her first date, her first kiss, and quite a bit more, her first boyfriend should very well have been tossed in also. And now, he was doing what he'd probably been doing all along, and she'd been dumb enough to try to ignore it? He was telling her now, to comeon?
This possibly felt worse than the time by the lake, when he'd told her he didn't want her then, maybe he meant never. Maybe it was just a ploy, and she felt horrible. Her tears didn't stop, how could they when she felt the way she did? And to make matters worse, he was letting it happen. He didn't care, he was still holding onto Celina, that was all he must have wanted.
Caught up in her own misery, she didn't know what was going on under the table, the small scuffle Celina was getting a move to. "...Just go, let her go to the loo," she mumbled. If she wanted to get away, why didn't he just let her go? Keep it all more discrete? That way, she didn't have to see what was happening.

The kicking startled him and Drew instinctively let go, not because it hurt any but because a part of him worried she wasn't just aiming for his wrist. Maybe it was better if she did get away. She seemed intent on thwarting his attempts to keep her safe and he just didn't know what to do about it short of just not caring anymore. But could he really sit back and let her be so self destructive? He wasn't sure.
And then there was Felicity. He would have thought that she would want to keep her friend safe, thought that this was what she would want him to do, but it just turned out wrong... so so wrong. Did she really trust him that little to think he'd play her like that?
"Will you talk to me?" he asked, putting his now free hand on her back, Celina's nail marks glaring back at him as angry accusations of a wrong he wasn't sure he had even done.

Celina kicked her ankle as Drew let go and flinched a little in pain as she only hit Drew's hand slightly. She really didn't realize how much it would hurt if she missed even a little, but then it clicked to her. She missed? Opening her eyes that had closed as she flinched, Drew had let go and at that she looked at her two friends and wanted to apologize, but didn't want to waste anytime. For all she knew, her brother could be being hurt or something. Her eyes gave the look of loss, because she totally didn't win anything from this, but at the same time her train of though remained. Celina had to leave the Great Hall, find her brother, and speak with him.
Turning quickly, ignoring the slight pang in her ankle she had just done to herself she started to crawl away again without a word. She didn't even look back this time and as she made it to the Great Hall doorway, hopefully unnoticed she stood up and went out, mentioning something about bathroom to every faceless she saw. She hoped they would let her continue to go.....
......Celina only hoped now that what she had just let go of herself, was worth it in the end.

Would she talk to him? Of course she would. Would it be rational? Felicity didn't know. She'd told him what she had to say, she'd gotten the words out without having to say it as directly as she felt she should have, but Corey had told them to stop, so...she would.
Drew's hand placed on her back was comforting, even if she knew she shouldn't be looking for such comforts when she was so upset, she just didn't understand why her mind was being so horrible to her. Felicity knew what she'd saw, had seen it happen many times between the two Ravenclaws, and yet it was telling her to let it go, but she didn't want to. Partly, she assumed, was because if she did, she'd have to focus on what was actually happening, what was really taking place in the Great Hall at that very moment.
Her freckled nose remained buried in the depths of her folded arms, allowing the tears to stream wildly from her light brown eyes. The blonde's insides were twisting and turning at an unbelievable rate, aching to give in to him, to let him continue making a fool of her by letting it all pass. But she couldn't, not when she hurt so badly.
Nodding her head, though she knew he couldn't see, it took a lot of effort to mumble a positive response. While she did want to talk to him, she didn't think it was proper to do so in front of so many people, and definitely not while he was under the table and she was on the bench.

Thornton continued to plead, while Hjort continued to ignore. It was a combination bent on disaster and he certainly didn't doubt the reality behind Shaw's threatening words earlier in the evening. If those two didn't can their argument for later, someone without a doubt would be hurting for it, and he doubted it would be one of them. On the upside Celina had wriggled (although forcefully) herself free from Drew's safety hold. Honestly it was a trip to the loo, what harm could come from a loo?
"If you two are quite done, we need to focus more on staying alive an' not killing each other." Corey hissed with growing frustration. "Is there any chance we can get an information network between the tables? I'd love to know when these blokes move...an' know what everyone needs." Alright so it wasn't much, and he doubted it could happen in five minutes but it was the beginning of something. They couldn't go offensively until they were sure they could work together, and yet what teamwork ever really came out of chaos? Yes indeed Corey had his doubts, many of them in fact but he had no intention of sitting here idly until daybreak. They couldn't attack, but they could at least find out what everybody needed....
Shaw might be a prick but he was diplomatic...and at the moment he seemed the closest to humane of the inhumane lot around them...

Drew wanted to focus his attention on Felicity, but the Head Boy had a point. The Ravenclaw reached up, trying to find her hand, wondering if some of what was going on with Felicity had to be part of the stress. It had to be, right?
"As long as no one does anything stupid, I think we'll be okay," Drew answered. The bigger problem was to keep everyone from doing anything stupid. "Whatever Shaw's point, I don't think the plan involves hurting us, otherwise he would have done that already."
There were still a lot of variables in the equation though. How much control did Shaw have over the other Deva? If one could approach Celina like that, what else would they do? And for those taken hostage, no one wanted to be held unfairly. Drew figured he wasn't the only one who wanted to fight back, but they had to do it wisely.
"Blankets? Pillows? Water," Drew suggested thinking that the rest of their needs were probably going to be met. They weren't being starved and as Celina hadn't returned yet, he took that as a sign that they were allowed to use the facilities.
"Hiro and I have a network of extendable ears around the school," Drew said, lowering his voice even more. "He figures if we can get to the staff room and the caretaker's office, we can use some of them."

Who said anything about killing Drew? She just wanted to hit him, maybe injure him a bit, not completely do him in. But rather than argue with Corey, she just kept her face hidden, trying to make the tears stop, he was right as per usual.
When Felicity felt Drew's hand in search of her own, she quickly shifted, she was still furious, he was lucky she let him touch her back. Instead of keeping her face buried, she lifted her head up and stretched her arms far in front of her. If he couldn't reach her hands, he couldn't try to hold them.
Situating herself so he legs were once more under the table, she crossed them, wishing she didn't own only skirted uniforms, not knowing how long what was going was going to continue, a skirt was going to possibly prove to be very annoying, and listened to what Drew had to say in response to Corey. And although she had to slightly agree with him about the leader not being out to hurt them, she wasn't so sure some of those there were not out to cause a little pain and misery.
"But won't they see them?" she asked about the extendable ears. They were great for jokes and such, but they were still visible, last she knew.

Blankets, pillows and water. Well he was willing to bet the last of the list would be the first to come, and those were only the obvious necessities. What he needed to find out specifically was who needed what potions or pills, if Shaw didn't want bodies on his hands that would take priority even over water. Of course the constant acquisition and dismissing of nurses hadn't helped this any either. He needed to talk to Krissy and if possible finagle his way to the other wall and talk with Jones too. As much as he hated to admit it, he knew there was no way he'd get near the staff table without being stopped, but knowing they were all still breathing was enough for him.
"Hiro and I have a network of extendable ears around the school, he figures if we can get to the staff room and the caretaker's office, we can use some of them."
"But won't they see them?"
It was a good enough point but if they were to get anywhere they needed to take a couple minor risks. Anything that could give an advantage needed to be at least tried.
"Work on it," Corey replied simply, glancing about a moment before ducking beneath the table in a most awkward fashion. "If you lot can promise me to keep your heads in the game an' my house under wings, I'm gonn' see if I can make it to Krissy an' Jones, an' hopefully figure out just how in the world we can negotiate with Shaw since Merlin knows the aurors won' do it. which end of the table is she at?" He questioned Drew tentatively while losing his robes and tie. He didn't want to leave the table, but he wouldn't be gone long either, or so he hoped. But they needed something they could work with or else chances were they'd get absolutely nothing.

"We've kind of tweaked the ears a little. They've been covering the school for years now so I don't think they'd be that noticible if we're careful." The system covered every classroom and most of the offices, traversing the halls and stairwells. It shouldn't be that hard to get to the network, break down a few pieces and use them.
"She was checking on her firsties so she could be anywhere under there," Drew answered Corey about Krissy. He had felt Felicity move away and now his hand was sitting on his lap and he was feeling a little dejected. Corey wanted to go do his own check and maybe that was a good system, kind of a rotation thing going. "I'll stay here until you come back," he said. Keagan and Tristan were still around along with a number of responsible Lions, but Drew figured it would be a good excuse to talk to Felicity.
