The small girl was, hopelessly lost. She had taken one or perhaps three too many a wrong turns in the dungeons andhad by now clearly crossed that boundary between Hufflepuff and Slytherin. With it now bearing on 8:30, the corridors were dark, and she, was growing wary of all these circles.
Finding herself at a dead end she was set to turn around until she hear footsteps coming fromt he same direction.
Left with nowhere to hide and stuck in the dark, fear crept in quickly as she knew not many came down to the dungeons for anything.

Still becoming accustomed to the new area Devlin found yet another place that didn't seem like any others entered. If nothing else the slytherins knew how to defend their turf.
"I guess joining the toughest crowd has its benifits." He said a little bored as he passed by a corridor. He had stopped dead in his tracks and back tracked to see a young girl trapped and fearful.

The shadowy figure had passed by, and she was about to move when whomever it was came back. She couldn't tell through the dark, all she had was a silhouette, and from what she could see the person was male, and definitely older than her. And assumption kicked in, definitely Slytherin.
"H-hello?" She said cautiously as she tilted her head at the shadow.

Fear had already taken over the girl before she even knew who he was, Slytherin had a name that could strike fear in the young...Devlin would have to remember this.
"You're a bit far from home aren't you?" He stated now fully facing the young girl. "And with no one around too, you have some guts don't ya?" He started to approuch her.

(Not quite, its more so the dark and not knowing who's there thats scaring her. Not you per-say. That, and she's naturally shy. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ) Her head remained cocked at its present angle as the boy stepped closer into the light, his distinct features still unreadable. But, he was a boy, he did sound mean, and she was in a corner, that was more than enough for her. "N-no, I-I just made a wrong turn..." She claimed somewhat defiantly. Though the nervousness was far more visible in her voice. She hated the dark, hated being alone (with present company she was still alone), and on top of all that she knew not even the basics of defending herself with magic.

(Yeah but I'm new here so that's what is going through his head)
As he took another step forward his dark hair showed and his grey eyes seemed to shine in the torch light. He did have the build of someone who could pose a threat particularly at the moment, since he wasn't trying to fit in with the overall fanciness of the castle. In all honesty he seemed almost natural in the dark narrow dead end in the dungeon.
"I'll say so." He was just messing with the girl, seeing how far he could push her before she wept or realized he wasn't actually going to do anything.

(Meh, still, this will be an interesting thread.)
A pair of eyes glimmered in reflection, hair, visible. Still, it made the girl no more comfortable than not being able to see him. Actually, that was probably the better thing.
"I...um..." His short and quick responses were worrying her more than the boy himself. The tone that hung from his words was one that struck a good more fear into her than she was letting on. But the more she could hide, the better.

Devlin stopped where he was because he knew that a trapped rat fights best and without his wand the only hope he had was to attempt to dodge any attack she might shoot. He just wanted to spook the girl not give her reason to attack.
"You took a wrong turn into a dead end and now have a Slytherin blocking the way." Devlin explained her situation to her.

In a nutshell that was exactly it, only problem was, it was a one way trap. If he moved, she got out, if he stayed, they were at a stalemate.
Biting her lip she ran over option after option, most make no sense, after all, she wasn't a Ravenclaw, and certainly didn't think well nor quick under pressure.
Instead of speaking she only nodded, victory, lying a good ways off on the horizon. Too far off.

It seemed as though she had run out of options, the young girl didn't even have anything to say. Devlin figured the girl had learned her lesson about staying on her own side of the tracks so he decided to at least give the girl a chance.
"Have you ever played chess?" He asked hoping to catch her off her guard. "It's a game of entering your opponent's mind and predetermining their plan so that you can have a counter for it. First person makes a move than the other counters....It's your move." He challenged, his muscles tensed preparing for a spell to fly, that was his only real threat at the moment.

She was indeed caught off guard by the question, very off. And once he explained his reasoning he really scared her. No opponent should give anyone a chance, and right now his 'opponent' didn't have any moves she could make.
What can I do... She thought quickly as her eyes darted around at the walls and the one torch between him and her, then back to the walls. There was nothing. Except the torch. What could she do with the torch?

Devlin watched as the Huffle searched for something that might help, taking note that she had lingered on the torch. He already had three options that she could use and a counter to two of them, however the third he might be able to counter depending on how she used it.
This is just like back home. Devlin had always taken a liking to messing with peoples minds.

One option she did have was putting it out and then running, but he'd easily find her again. The other problem with all this was he could easily just beat her to the torch..
Her only viable option was to concede victory. wait, victory to what, all he'd done was come along and cornered her, under what grounds was this have to be a battle?
"Erm...can I just...um, go on by and forget this whole thing happened?" She questioned, knowing the chances of getting any other answer other than a flat out 'No' were slim to none.

She had choosen the best option, this wasn't a battle it was intimidation. All he wanted was to make sure that she wouldn't come into the slytherin's turf again, or at least be warned of what could happen if she did.
"I can let you off the hook this time." Devlin tried to sound as though she did something wrong. "But remind all your Huffle friends that this side of the dungeons is ours." He warned as he stepped aside to give her room to pass.

Drew had been taking a short-cut back from the kitchens when he passed the dark hallway. He didn't give it much thought until he heard a familiar little voice and one not so familiar, but definitely menacing. Tucking his snacks inside his pockets, he headed towards them, reaching them just as the boy was letting Lianna pass.
"Everything okay here?" he asked, addressing the little girl, but looking at the boy.
