"I don't know. What did you have in mind?" Jynx asked with a smile widening on his face. He didn't know if she had anything in mind, but just though he would ask in case she did. He was all up for doing something later tonight he just didn't no what, but he was sure that he could come up with something if she didn't have any ideas. Matty looked away from bobbing canddle over to Jynx. She smiled before saying "Well what about loosing the ball crowd for a while and going for a walk around some of the grounds?" She didn't really mind if Jynx wated to do this, after all it was just an idea. 'You never know' she thought 'He might have something better planed?"

Ezekiel grinned, listening to the woman, his eyes flicked quickly to the new face that had just came through the door then back again. "Too nice am I?" he snickered, looking down at the woman, he then gave a quirky little smile and whispered "Should I be meaner so I'm not so obvious?" His eyes shifted color again to a soft violet hue which seemed to suit his now pale complexion. "I think you have already realized I work for the ministry" he said in a normalized voice, drawing his hand hand from his pocket. "Ezekiel Neverwood; Auror, but you can call me Zeke." He then extended his hand to the young woman to shake. He wondered for a moment if it was best to be introducing himself to random students, he then remembered something about Hogwarts; A secret in Hogwarts is called common knowledge. He grinned inwardly, almost everyone would know who he was in no time at all. Brittany didn't answer his first question seeing as how it was retorical. She only smirked and narrowed her eyes at him as he teased her. The girl had been caught up in the fact that his eyes had now changed to an unnatural violet color and had been about to ask about it but he spoke again. As the man introduced himself she realized that she would soon have to reveal her self as a student of Hogwarts. Which, she was almost sure, Zeke would completely lose any interest in even talking to her after that was said. Catching her self before she sighed out loud, she covered up by lightly shaking his extended hand. "Brittany Garland, seventh year Gryffindor." Brittany told him in return. She had said the last three words in a bit of a rush but it was at least understandable. Only a couple more months... The girl thought to herself. "Now, now. Isn't there some kind of rule of caution in introducing yourself like that to someone you barely know?" Brittany asked smartly, half her mouth turned up in a smile.

Charon's smirk became a true smile again. "Indeed it shall,"he said. "It is also the thing that shall end all," he added. A morbid comment for a dance, perhaps, but it was Halloween after all, and there was precious little more morbid than Charon's costume that night. He raised his untouched goblet of pumkin juice in a toast. "To time. May it tell us all we wish to know and may it end that which we do not want," he said, before taking a drink.
As he drank, the goblet blocked his vision of Esmerelda. Which was too bad. Her face was most definitely pleasing to the eye. He lowered the goblet and glanced at her once before looking down at the orange liquid inside his cup. Watching it as he swirled it around, he tried to think of something to say. He wasn't really much of a conversationalist with people he didn't know, and that kept him from knowing new people. A vicious circle, in a way. "So...did you come here with someone?" he asked. It was a lame question, but nothing else had come to mind. And a part of him really did want to know the answer.

Anna looked up at Tristan's face and was glad to see he did show up, but at least she didn't keep him waiting long. Besides, if he did she might have been a bit angry. "I haven't been waiting here very long." Anna shrugged. Then when Tristan muttered ''bloody hell'' she turned around to see a ministry offical. "Something wrong Tristan? You're not in trouble I hope." she told him. "I'm not in trouble. But I did get in trouble last month by some Ministry lady. Long story," he said to her. He then looked around. "You know where Pat is?" he asked referring to Patrick Nollet. He hadn't seen him since the basketball game. Which reminded him where the heck was Logan? Sure, he had to have a date. If not, he would have to come.

Mike had also felt the hand in between them, and he knew it wasn't Ivy's as they had been entwined with his own. Suddenly she had pushed him away and slapped him across the face....this was becoming a regular occourance with her, but he couldn't help but stifle a laugh as he saw Ivy's younger sister Ash standing there. If he had paid a bit more attention he would of noticed the look on her face before she started shooting her mouth off at him.
He stood there, rather confused at Ash, but he knew her intentions.
"You told me before aye.....now when was that?"
Mike mentioned before looking at Ash.
"Ash, Ivy's a big girl and she can make her own decisions for herself, I know where your coming from and I understand it, but you can't just ruin her life by breaking her away from people she starts to get close to"

She continued to glare, "Shu-" ,she was in the middle of telling him to shut his yap although decided against it. Ash instead, broke free of her glare with Mike and looked to Ivy, angrily. "Get up..." Ash commanded as if she owned her. She hated seeing Ivy like this. If they were going to make out, at least do it in the Common Room or some place that she couldn't find them.
She didn't wait for her sister to do as she had said, Ash took her hand and pulled her up, DON"T, you can't do this, you don't even like the poor girl. She let go of Iv'ys wrist and push her into Mike, "Whatever," Ash said to Ivy as she turned around to leave although looked over her shoulder before her departure, " I just thought that you were more than to makeout with--" she nodded her head at Mike. Gosh, she was such a b**** sometimes, but for some reason she felt hurt.

She nodded, it was a true statement, to say the least. Es liked the fact that he stayed in character. Or perhaps that was always how he acted, maybe she would find out, 'In time.' Which seemed to be the main theme of their conversation. She didn't mind, it seemed like an intelluctual conversation topic without getting into the whole Albert Einstein deal. She smiled and nodded, looking to him. She raised her glass, clinking it with his.
"Beautifully said.."
She replied, sipping her drink instead of finishing it off. She liked to have it to keep her busy in case there was awkward silence. Which, unfortunatly did happen. Es tucked her long black hair behind her ear before looking to him, about to ask a question. He just happened to first. A slight blush began to creep into her pale cheeks, something that seemed to happen alot, or at this moment anyway. She was glad for the opprotunity to talk because, even though she wanted to know about him, she didn't know where to start. She paused.
"Actually.. I..uh..didn't..."
She replied softly.

Charon had expected her to say that she did have a date. "Really?" he asked. Then he said something he wouldn't have had he not been so surprised. "A pretty girl like you has no date?" As soon as he realized what he'd said, the smile on his face froze into a shocked smile, and he felt his cheeks heat up. Thank goodness for the mask. It hid most of his blush. And what his mask didn't hide, the goblet he'd immediately raised to his face did. Why hadn't he paid attention to what he was saying? It wasn't that he didn't mean it, it was just that he hadn't meant to say it.

After handing the two girls there drinks he looked around the ball to see what was going on and to take in the decorations. When he looked back he saw that Abigail had vanished. He didn't think much about it and just figured that she went back out to see if she could find her date or something like that. "I think you look great." Ty said with a smile that was destorted because of his oversized beak. "The hall looks great to." he added as an after thought thinking that maybe thats what she meant. She looked great? Lianna felt that was a bit over doing it, but to each their own opinions are allowed. The girl could feel the color rising to her cheeks as she tried to form a reply, his comment on the dand hall not going unnoticed. "I'd say you look great to, but, well, I mean, you do...but what I mean is...you umm, look great anytime..." The Hufflepuff managed to get out while her poorly accustomed tot he dark eyes tried to scan for Abi or Mark, or even Drew. "Its...too creepy for me...I'm um...not a big fan of the dark...." She confessed as an addition before she could stop herself, immediately wishing she hadn't said it. "I mean...I'm not afriad of it, I just...well, don't like it much..." Her arguement was weak, and was rice-paper thin in covering her fear. There was no way he'd miss it. Merlin she'd managed to do it in a matter of seconds. Lianna had managed to make a complete idiot of herself. And she was kicking herself for it.

Zeke mused for a moment before starting to speak again "Courage, chivalry and boldness if I'm not mistaken, some Honorable traits." He smiled down at Brittany no differently than before, he released her hand and returned his own to his coat pocket. "Now, I'd say you have a few more months before you enter the real world?" he asked but added quickly with a teasing grin "If you pass that is." Looking over her shoulder for a moment, keeping an eye on the Hall his violet eyes brightened slightly as he looked down at her. "You're an inquisitive little thing aren't you?" He grinned knowing full well he'd probably get a earful for calling her a 'little thing'. "Well.." he started, "If I know anything about this school is that nothing is secret for long." He nodded sagely at this comment, a small crooked smile on his face.

Mike seriously wondered what was going through Ash's head at that moment, to make her explode on the both of them like that and then to man-handle her sister in the way she did. She had taken it too far, Mike felt as though he should of stopped her from walking away, but in another way he felt that it was better that she cool down a bit, his hands on Ivy's waist, after Ash had pushed her towards Mike. He had no idea about why Ash would do that to her sister, but right now all he could feel was the stinging on his cheek from where Ivy had slapped him. "Had something behind that one eh?" He asked her with a slight smile, knowing that she would be upset about her sister and he knew that she would need someone to talk to.

Ivy wanted to cry out in tears of rage, but she kept her emotions at bay. What was wrong? What did Ivy do to make Ash this angry? She racked her brain for anything that she could’ve done to upset her within the last 48 hours, but nothing popped up.
"Get up..." Ash commanded as if she owned her. She didn't wait for her sister to do as she had said, Ash took her hand and pulled her up. She let go of Ivy’s wrist and pushed her into Mike.
It was until her sister forcefully brought her to her knees that she glared at her sister. “Don’t…touch me…” she said softly, trying hard to not let her anger show in her words. Her eyes couldn’t meet Ash, but instead glared at the crushed flower on the ground. Ivy was trying so hard to change, and to become someone that Ash would be proud to call her “oneechan” or “jie jie”. Would she ever be that person?
"Whatever," Ash said to Ivy as she turned around to leave although looked over her shoulder before her departure, " I just thought that you were more than to makeout with--" she nodded her head at Mike.
That had done it. That was Ivy’s breaking point. Ash could insult her all she wanted—she could even slap her; insulting any of her friends, especially Mike, in such a way was enough to break Ivy. She walked away from Mike quickly to slap Ash so hard across the face that the girl fell to the ground. Ivy didn’t seem like a strong girl, but her slaps were killer (Mike and her ex-boyfriends can probably testify to that). She didn’t hold back for her little sister. She wanted it to hurt her—just as those words pierced Ivy. At this point, Ivy still couldn’t meet Ash’s eyes. “Shut the hell up,” she hissed. “What the hell do you know? Go back to that mother of yours and cry will you? That’s all that you’re good for, isn’t it? You can’t even build up enough courage to tell… fan si le!” she cursed under her breath. “Zou!” she pointed back to the castle, ordering her sister to leave. “Zou, ah! Wo bu yao can ni de cou lien!”
((translation: you’re so annoying! Go! Go already! I don’t want to see your ugly face!))
She had quite enough of Ash. She tried so hard—and what did she get? A cold shoulder and this? Maybe Ash wasn’t worth it. She had enough. Ivy didn’t want to try anymore.

Mike just backed away from the girls as they exchanged harsh words to each other, he didn't really know what to say, to either of them to get them to calm down, but he figured when Ash left that Ivy would, hopefully, calm down.
For now he just stood there in shock as he heard Ivy curse in her native tongue.

Talia grinned. Of course he was dashing... But she supposed it was better that he wasn't full of himself. She peeked into the Great Hall and smirked, "Sure, let's go in." She said, taking a step into the room. She walked next to Jake, her hand was loose, but made slight jerking movements every once in a while. She was nervous, but was trying not to show it. The bangles on her arms clicked slightly, and she smiled at everyone she recognized, then turned to Jake, "They did a good job on the decorations, eh?" She asked, looking at the various objects, either on the table, or floating in mid air. " Alrigh', " Jake said with a light smile as he walked into the heavily decorated room. He glanced around to see what people he knew or could even recognize in their Holloween Costume. He spotted Keagan and grinned at the sixth year. He looked over at Talia and replied, " Oh, yah. Honestly, who doesn't want floating pumpkins? " He asked the question jokingly with a slight grin on his face. Sure, it wasn't one to befit Dracula, but Jake didn't care all too much about staying in character. It wasn't like he came there to stay Dracula... He went to be with Talia. " So, what would you like to do? " He asked her curiously.

Ash bit her lip, How dare she slap me? Why? You should have just let her be that slut she always was... Although Ash laid silently on her back as Ivy raged in Chinese. She understood it... she understood it all and for once she wished that she couldn't understand, that she couldn't hear. She hated Ivy although it pained her to see her with Mike... It was almost as if she felt like he was taking Ivy away from her.
She could feel the tears well up in her eyes, and looking up at the six foot Ivy, in this state, was almost intimidating. Ash couldn't stand this, she wasn't going to let her sister - the one who had neglected her as a toddler- bruise her ego. Why is Ivy all of a sudden, trying to get closer to me this year, she was just using you-- do you think any good could come out of that person? That selfish, fake, horrible person? Although as Ivy brought up the comment of her mother and him... it was too much. Ash stood up, " Fine then." she said angrily. Mother was right... "I'll leave you and this" she paused to glare at Mike, " scum bag.."
