Keagan's head jerked up, looking at Beni wide-eyed. 'Oh, that girl's gonna pay...' she thought as she turned to see Dean approaching, though she knew that nothing of the sort would ever happen. Keag liked Benita too much...besides, she had been hoping to see Dean at this ball at some point. The flush on the sixth year's face was paler now, though still present, and a small smile was on her lips. The color was probably ruining her costume, though. For a fleeting moment, Keagan wished she would've thought to use a white foundation or paint of some sort to maintain the pale complexion of her character. It was took late to worry about that, though. "Hi Dean," Keag greeted quietly, though the boy seemed to wish to meet her friend. She gestured to each in turn as she went about making the the introductions herself. "Beni Hendrix, Dean Quinn. Dean, Beni. Nice costume, by the way, Dean. Phantom?" Keagan had attended a showing of Phantom of the Opera on Broadway once when she was younger and still living in Rhode Island the year round. ((Since this is the last post from the Dean, Beni, Keagan group I'm quoting this one . . .I hope it gets found)) "Thank Pat, Krissy," she said, nodding to them. "I'll see you guys later though? I need to stick to my shadows." She waved at them. "Have a great time alright?" She waved a small wave to them and disappeared into the shadows. She was looking out from the shadows, scouting out her prey when she noticed Beni, Keagan, and Dean. Beni being the only one she had told about her costume, she wanted to show it off to her. So she went around behind them and she jumped with her fake knife to Beni's head. "Don't turn around," she whispered. "If you see me I'll have to kill you." |

"Gryffindor eh?" Zeke mused for a moment before starting to speak again "Courage, chivalry and boldness if I'm not mistaken, some Honorable traits." He smiled down at Brittany no differently than before, he released her hand and returned his own to his coat pocket. "Now, I'd say you have a few more months before you enter the real world?" he asked but added quickly with a teasing grin "If you pass that is." Looking over her shoulder for a moment, keeping an eye on the Hall his violet eyes brightened slightly as he looked down at her. "You're an inquisitive little thing aren't you?" He grinned knowing full well he'd probably get a earful for calling her a 'little thing'. "Well.." he started, "If I know anything about this school is that nothing is secret for long." He nodded sagely at this comment, a small crooked smile on his face. Brittany couldn't help but beam as he named off the traits of being a Gryffindor. She was proud, which was a common trait for a lion also, and couldn't keep the grin from leaving her face. What he had said about nothing staying secret for long in the school was completely true. Everyone figured out everything eventually. Nothing could stay a secret, or at least not for long. Though she did scowl at the passing crack. Of course, she would pass-as long as she had not herbology tests. "I'm not exactly so little...." Brittany replied a bit defensively. It was true she wasn't a 'little' girl anymore. Though you couldn't be sure by looking at her, since she looked young for her age but that didn't bother her. It just meant that she would look younger when she really was older. Though she smirked at the comment of being inquisitive and asked him, "How else am I supposed to find out things?" |

Chase stepped into the Hall, a little late perhaps, although it didn't really matter to her. She was absolutely beaming in her costume. It was perfect in her opinion- whatelse could be better? Of course, you could probably already guess at what she was- Lord Voldemort, of course. Stunning was the right word for it. She was stunning.
Chase scanned the room, seeing that a few faces were turned her way, she laughed happliy. She had to admit, the man wasn't 'Artemis Gorgeous' although he was a looker-- at least when Chase wore him.
She approached Brittany, she was the first one she had spotted. Chase gave a scary smile and greeted, " Heelo, Brittany." she chirped.

Brittany almost jumped back an entire yard at the site of.....whatever the heck that was. It looked like a mini-Lord Voldemort, but one could never be too sure. She was exactly sure who was under it either. Though the voice sounded, unchanged and younger so it had to have been a younger year. She was more concerned with what reaction some of the professors and adults might actually have towards the person's costume. She shuddered at the memory of Raynor scolding them in one class for using 'his' name so lightly, since she had fought against him at one time. Eyes flickering towards Zeke for a moment, she figured that his reaction would tell all.
"Who is that under there?" Brittany asked in the meantime, not wanting to ignore the person. Squinting, she bent down to get on the person's level in hopes of recognizing whom is was.

Chase smirked, wondering whether to tell the truth or not, although then again, whoelse would she pretend to be? " Conners. You look dashing tonight, by the way." she commented, noticing her pretty dress, although it wasn't at all in the Halloween spirit, she looked beautiful. Chase smiled to the man that she seemed to be talking to, although didn't really feel like introducing herself.
She glanced around the room, searching for Artemis although stopped when she remembered what had happened in the Armor Gallery...

"Sweet, little Chase?" Brittany questioned, astonished.
There was no way that cute little thing was under that. Simply no way. She didn't want to believe it and had to resist taking off her mask(?) to see if it truly was her. Seeing her look her up and down, she knew the girl was most-likely wondering what in the heck she was supposed to be. To many, she realized, she probably didn't look like she was in costume at all. Though she couldn't figure out how to dress up any better for what she was that that. She was about to explain what exactly she was but stopped her self. The older girl wasn't even sure if Chase would understand that she was one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Heck, a sixth year had questioned her about it. So unless the first year was very cultured, she wouldn't have a clue.
"Doesn't look like many people have turned out to this thing. Does it?" Brittany commented, watching the girl look over the Great Hall. She did so as well, not seeing the red head that she was looking for. Though her eyes did briefly stop on the blonde boy standing at the refreshments table, they merely lingered there for a moment before going back to Chase and then to Zeke.

Matty looked away from bobbing canddle over to Jynx. She smiled before saying "Well what about loosing the ball crowd for a while and going for a walk around some of the grounds?" She didn't really mind if Jynx wated to do this, after all it was just an idea. 'You never know' she thought 'He might have something better planed?" "Sure, A walk around the grounds sounds great and then maybe by the time we come back the band will have started." Jynx said with a smile taking another drink and thinking that it might be a while for the ball to actually get going. A walk around the castle's grounds sounded good to him and then they could just come back and mingle in the Great Hall for a while before doing whatever else they wanted. He thought that maybe after the dance they could go up and look at the stars or something in the Astronomy Tower. |

"No, it's a real shame...", still looking around she noticed that nobody was dancing, "Why isn't anyone dancing? It is a dance afterall..." she trailed off, she had only been at Hogwarts for a few months and she wasn't really sure if this was how it was supposed to be at a dance.
" Are you here with anyone?" Chase asked looking back to Brittany. She knew that most people had come with dates, although there were some that hadn't. It seemed that not many first years were here, just herself and Artemis...

She looked great? Lianna felt that was a bit over doing it, but to each their own opinions are allowed. The girl could feel the color rising to her cheeks as she tried to form a reply, his comment on the dand hall not going unnoticed. "I'd say you look great to, but, well, I mean, you do...but what I mean is...you umm, look great anytime..." The Hufflepuff managed to get out while her poorly accustomed tot he dark eyes tried to scan for Abi or Mark, or even Drew. "Its...too creepy for me...I'm um...not a big fan of the dark...." She confessed as an addition before she could stop herself, immediately wishing she hadn't said it. "I mean...I'm not afriad of it, I just...well, don't like it much..." Her arguement was weak, and was rice-paper thin in covering her fear. There was no way he'd miss it. Merlin she'd managed to do it in a matter of seconds. Lianna had managed to make a complete idiot of herself. And she was kicking herself for it. Ty saw as Lianna went a shade of red and had to smile. He knew that she was a bit nervous in the first place and it seemed that she had gotten more nervous if anything. When she did finally seem to get her voice back Ty had to wonder at first if she was paying him a complement using a word like ‘but’. He knew that he must look more silly than anything and didn’t really mind if she thought he looked good in the costume or not. After all that wasn’t really the point of picking this costume to wear and he would even have to admit that he didn’t think a chicken outfit could look flattering on anyone. When she finally got out her sentence he had to beam at the fact that she thought he looked good anytime and this more than anything made him feel comfortable with her. Hearing that she really wasn’t a big fan of the decorations he didn’t know what to say. They could go somewhere a little less creepy and well lit, but then they would have to miss the ball and he had worked hard on his costume. But if she was really uncomfortable with the setting then he didn’t really care if he missed it and would just be glad to do whatever Lianna wanted to do. “Well we could go somewhere that is a little more well lit.” he suggested casually so that she knew that it wasn’t that big of a deal if they left the dance and did something else. |

And her costume might stand out alone if she wasn't with someone else.Swerling around her drink, but not taking a sip Matty thought about what she was going to say. Looking down at dark misty floor, Matty said "Im really glad i came with you Jynx" smiling back up when she lifted her head. |

"I'm really glad that I came with you to." Jynx said smiling at Matty as she lifted her head up. He was really glad that Matty had said she would come with him because he just liked spending time with her. "So where should we go for a walk?" he asked wondering where Matty had in mind for them to go while they waited for the ball to get rolling a little bit more then it was now. He didn't really mind where they went but thought he might throw out some ideas. "We could go for a walk around the lake or into the forest or something." Jynx said just making suggestions.

Matty glanced back down into her drak grade juice. Taking a glup of it, she looked up at the star strewn sky. A walk around the lake might be nice, and she loved his Astronomy Tower idea. But the Forest she wasn't that sure about, well the fact that tonight was Halloween, and the Forbbiden Forst and all, would make the forst even scaryer. She although didn't think of saying this yet, just taking a glup from her drink and looking back to him. Her eyes strained for the blue-ness in his, although the shadows made then seem a saphire blue, instead of a bright blue. Smiling sweety at him she put her finished drink on the table before saying "Should we tell Ray?"

"Ya maybe we should tell her," Jynx said laughing slightly. He had totally forgotten about Ray and was glad that Matty had remembered because he wouldn't have wanted to just leave her hanging there all by herself while they went for a walk.
He didn't really care where they went to and since it seemed that no one was picking he decided that he would just pick. "Lets go up to the Astronomy Tower for a while," he said draining the rest of his drink and getting up from his seat waiting for Matty so that they could go.

Matty smiled at Jynx before standing up aswell. She brushed over his hand as they made their way over to the drinks stand, grabbing a cold orange juice for her, Matty then made her way over to where Ray was standing. "There you go, sorry we took a while. I'll probly see you around the ball tonight?" she said with a smile before handing the drink to Ray. She waited for Jynx to come. Tonight was going to be special, she thought as Matty looked up into the sky once again.

Jynx followed Matty over to the drink table and then over to where Ray was standing. "Ya see you around. We're going to go for a walk and then will be back," Jynx said taking hold of Matty's hand as led her away from where Ray was standing and towards the entrance of the Great Hall so that they could go for their walk up to the Astronomy Tower. Looking around he noticed that there were quite a few people here now and thought that the ball should get going any time now.
