She nodded her head as he repeated the main word of her sentence. She would've thought a guy like him would have had a date in a second. But as she listened to his explanation, it made sense. Not all that specific but she didn't want to intrude on his life if there was a reason for the vagueness. If there wasn't, she didn't exactly want to beat the dead horse. stared down at her cup, studying it's halloweeny features before looking up at his question.
A soft smile flickered across her face.
"Tis the same with you, Sir.."
She paused, looking to him.
"I'm a Slytherin 6th year.."
She told him. Es was a bit hestitant to tell him that because although people were used to Slytherins being mean, she wasn't. She was just so lost and could be snappy sometimes, I mean, everyone is. Even those precious Gryffindors. But she definitely wasn't as nice as the loyal Hufflepuffs. She was just.. Esmerelda..

"No, it's a real shame...", still looking around she noticed that nobody was dancing, "Why isn't anyone dancing? It is a dance afterall..." she trailed off, she had only been at Hogwarts for a few months and she wasn't really sure if this was how it was supposed to be at a dance. " Are you here with anyone?" Chase asked looking back to Brittany. She knew that most people had come with dates, although there were some that hadn't. It seemed that not many first years were here, just herself and Artemis... Brittany thought on the girl's question a moment before responding. She wasn't technically here with anyone. She was supposed to meet up with someone, Sora, but it didn't look like he had showed. So, the answer? "No. Just socializing with you two at the moment." Brittany explained, looking breifly at Zeke so that he wasn't left out. At the dancing remark, she had to take another look around the room. She had noticed this fact before, but at that time she just thought it was since it was early. But they were supposed to be well into the ball now and not one person was out on the dance floor. She also noticed many people just leaving. What a great time... Brittany rolled her eyes at the thought. Looking back up to Chase, a smirk in place, she informed her, "That's just because all of the guys are either hooked up already or don't have the nerve to ask anyone to dance."

When Krissy would not give her an answer, Arianna grunted in frustration. She watched the door for a bit longer and, when she saw no other Kiss-clad boy walk through them, let out a sigh. She'd just have to deal with this herself. Someone was putting her up and Arianna was quite sure she knew who it was.
"I'll see you guys later," she grumbled to Krissy and Pat before turning and heading off after Daniel. When she caught up with him, she grasped her hand around his arm and stepped in front of him.
"What do you think you're doing?" she questioned, jabbing the boy hard in the side with one of her long claws. It was too bad she'd made sure they weren't sharp. Thought she'd be better off causing any serious accidents that way. At the moment, though, Arianna wondered if it had been a mistake.
"You did this on purpose, didn't you?" she pressed in a low growl. "Thought you'd convince Krissy to set this up so you'd be sure I'd come and you could humiliate me in front of the whole school again, didn't you? Or did you just need an excuse to bother me and decided you'd dress up like my date's supposed to?"

Sora left his position of the punch table after having his fill of drink. It was an unfortunate side affect that his costume was sometimes unbearably hot. Wiping his sweaty brow upon his sleeve, he set out to look for Brittany once again. He chuckled slightly at the sight of the basically empty dance floor. For a Halloween dance, not many people were dancing.
He walked forward and stood behind a girl dressed in a black dress, though he would've noticed it was Brittany but his eyes continued to scan the room for the said girl. The blond-haired boy looked over to the first year that was dressed all to similarly as Lord Voldemort,
"Hey kid!" Sora said, a bit loudly as to capture the child's attention, "Have you seen a girl named Brittany Garland? Gryffindor. Dark brown hair. Chocolate eyes. Petit. A bit short. Great kisser...So have you seen her?"

Krissy watched Lilly head off and flashed her a smile before she went. But when ari said goodbye Krissy frowned. "Seeya..." she mumbeled watching Ari go. She hadn't sounded very happy. Krissy's eyes followed Ari to where Dan was. Krissy had thought it would be a good idea matching them up.. maybe she'd been wrong. Krissy looked back to Pat with a small frown. "I... do you think I did the right thing..?" she asked him wonderingly. She didn't want to have ruined Ari's night by matching her with Dan, she she knew Ari liked him, she just had to...

Ty saw as Lianna went a shade of red and had to smile. He knew that she was a bit nervous in the first place and it seemed that she had gotten more nervous if anything. When she did finally seem to get her voice back Ty had to wonder at first if she was paying him a complement using a word like ‘but’. He knew that he must look more silly than anything and didn’t really mind if she thought he looked good in the costume or not. After all that wasn’t really the point of picking this costume to wear and he would even have to admit that he didn’t think a chicken outfit could look flattering on anyone. When she finally got out her sentence he had to beam at the fact that she thought he looked good anytime and this more than anything made him feel comfortable with her. Hearing that she really wasn’t a big fan of the decorations he didn’t know what to say. They could go somewhere a little less creepy and well lit, but then they would have to miss the ball and he had worked hard on his costume. But if she was really uncomfortable with the setting then he didn’t really care if he missed it and would just be glad to do whatever Lianna wanted to do. “Well we could go somewhere that is a little more well lit.” he suggested casually so that she knew that it wasn’t that big of a deal if they left the dance and did something else. Nervous, a bit. Embarrassed, highly. Worried how he'd take her compliment, definitely. He made no reply to her comment aside from silence, being unable to really see his eyes the girl didn't rightly know how to deal with it. Silence. It hut in a way, but it was a comfort in another, and she wasn't sure which of the two meant more to her. Her eyes found their way back to the punch bowl and she quietly refilled her cup. He did however choose to comment on her 'distaste' of the decor. It wasn't that she didn't like it, but rather, she was slightly feared of it. Shaken. He suggested they go elsewhere, sincerity evident even through the slit of beak. "No...no, this si what I came here for...well, ont the decor exactly but...I mean, you...the dance...I mean..." She didn't know how to reply, she would be jittery all night no matter where they disappeared to so it didn't really matter on that aspect. She liked him, but couldn't bring herself to say it. Or had she said it and not realized it, like she had to Abi? Perhaps that was the reason he didn't reply... Merlin, could one ask for death by paranoia?

Winking at Ray in the half light, Matty waved her goodbye before taking Jynx's lead. As they both left the great hall, she thought that in about half an hour or so, it would be kicking off to a great start. She hooped that a good band would play there, and possible that Matty and and Jynx would dance? Not yet had she really thought about what hey would do up in the towers besides talk. After all that was totally fine with her if that was the only thing they did, besides look out at the night sky.

Vanessa jumped slightly as the door opened, as she hadn't really been paying attention to it. Her eyes had wandered around the Great Hall and something shiny had caught her attention. However, she was snapped back into reality when a voice spoke to her. Looking up, Beetlejuice was standing there, looking down at her and saying 'Wow'. Nessa couldn't help but let out a burst of laughter as she looked him over. She knew it was Dragos under there, but the costume was amazing. She had seen the Muggle movie Beetlejuice as least twice, so she had an idea of who he was. Standing up, Vanessa looked him over again, the smile never fading from her face. She shook her head, snickering. "You look awesome!" Nessa said, ruffling the mass of grey hair he had on. ((Jesus this took me forever to respond to. Sorry, love)) Dragos didn't even know how to respond. He just kind of stared at Vanessa, his mouth hanging open. He felt her ruffle his hair and he couldn't take his eyes off her smile. "I..uhh..er..thanks," he said lamely, after stuttering and sounding like an idiot, "You look...good Merlin, you look hot!" Dragos just let it slip out. He had said it a lot louder than he had meant to, and somewhere under the white stuff smeared all over his face, his cheeks were a bright, bright pink. Looking at the dance floor, Dragos saw a few lonely souls out there. Music was playing, but it wasn't anything really good. He sighed, staring at the ground, wondering if Nessa was going to want to dance. For the love of Merlin, PLEASE don't drag me out there, Dragos pleaded silently, but he knew as soon as he thought that, he'd be dragged (kicking and screaming, mind you) out there.

((No worries! I still love you ;D))
Nessa tried her best to hold the laughter in, but it was a feeble attempt. Never had she been referred to as "hot", but she took the compliment anyways and carried on laughing. "Thanks, Dragos," she said with a wink and a grin.
No sooner had Dragos wished against it was Vanessa pulling him onto the dance floor. Why there was no one else really out there was a mystery as the music was good, but she figured everyone else was just too scared. Taking both of Dragos' hands in hers, Nessa pulled him out to dance with her. She started to move to the music, holding Dragos' hand and making him move too. "Come on, don't be such a ninny!" Nessa joked, as she danced and, forcible, made him dance too.

Dragos let out a heavy sigh as he feet started to move when the rest of him didn't want to. He was being dragged, and his feet went willingly. Try as his brain might, he couldn't make them stop. He just watched Vanessa as she started dancing and made him dance too. Dragos kind of stood there, trying to fight off the grin that was pulling at his lips and not give in to her dancing ways. "Never. I will be a ninny if I chose to be!" Dragos protested, laughing as his arms continued to move as if independent from his body. Technically, they were, as it wasn't him operating them. It was all Nessa.
After a while, Dragos let himself get sucked in, despite the inner protest his mind was making. He started to move, without the help of Vanessa, and dance to the music. He wasn't a bad dancer, but he just didn't like doing it in front of people. And there was no shortage of people in the Great Hall. Dragos looked around quickly, looking at all the people he knew would be in his classes and he'd have to see every day after this. Embarrassment tonight would not be a good thing if he wanted to be able to walk down the corridors.
A sly grin spread across Dragos' face as he got an idea. He'd tried break-dancing before, but the only thing that had occurred was actually breaking something. His pride. It hadn't worked too well, but he'd practiced and gotten better. Now he figured it was time to bust a move. Stepping back a little and grinned. "Watch," he said to Vanessa. Taking a deep breath, Dragos lurched forwards and his hands hit the ground. He propped himself up on them and twisted his legs around, holding himself in the air. Then, he tucked his legs in and fell backwards onto his back, spinning around on it and collecting dust all over his jacket. When he stopped spinning, he stood up, laughing. Did he really just do that?
"Figure I'd cause a scene. Liven this thing up a bit," he told Nessa, taking her hands and starting to dance with her again. Maybe after that, some other people would start to dance. What could it hurt, right?

(Sorry everyone but as the snakes know I've been in maine for the week.... If someone ha posted involving be and I haven't refrenced to it please PM me! ) Sighing, Jade looked at Artemis. "Well, I'm going to go danc, even if you don't wanna." She turned back once to check that he wasn't coming, then made her way onto the dance floor and started to move to the music. She was one of the first people out there, but she didn't especially care. It was a way to get noticed and it had to be more fun that hanging out with a little firstie who hated her. Art smiled under the spandex suit. He noted Charlie leaving then he heard her voice... The voice he had been avoiding Oh DAMN! NO SHE CAN"T SEE ME OR KNOW I'M HERE! Artemis thought panicing. I Have to get out before Chase sees or hears or knows I'm me or I'm doomed! Art slipped past Brittany and sadly he made his mistake, He tried to push his hair back but he pushed his cap off revelaing his face to the ONLY person here he did NOT want to see. He clawed for his hood but he thought he was to late when Chase's eyes seemed to turn to him.

Chase looked up at the Slytherin boy, who she thought was speaking to her. He's so scary!... her eyes widened and finally she let out a breath and realized he was expecting her to answer.
"Erm, well-- actuall-" she stopped in the middle of her sentence as she caught the eye of a passerby. It just so happened that he was Artemis. Usually Chase would have screamed in delight and suffocate the poor thing in a tight hug, but she didn't feel like it this time. She smiled to him happily, after a few moments of staring and waved, " Hello Artemis." she said calmly. This was so unlike her to do such a thing, but she kept her composure.

(sorrysorrysorrysorry, Lily, Keagan, and Dean! Time management is low on my list of fortes...)
Beni had nudged Keagan as Dean walked over and gave a friendly grin. "How do you do, Dean?" She said as Keagan gave them the formal introductions. "I see you're the... Ah! Bloody sorry. I haven't a clue what you are."
But soon enough she felt the very presence of an imminent threat. She gave a slight jump, but tried not to look so surprised as she did. She said without looking at Lily, "Your sly attack alone almost killed me," she said but then looked back. "Girly! You look wonderful. Or should I say frightful?"

Lily blinked, her blue eyes blazing. "Thank you," she said. "You can say I look like whatever you like but you know I do have to kill you now." She nodded to all three. "You look great Beni. You too Dean. And you Keagan." She smiled. "Now who's first on my murderer list?" She said, looking at the three. "It appears I may have to kill everyone here as they all have an opportunity to see me."

Pat said "Later, Lily" to the sixth year girl as she melted back into the shadows, probably to ambush more victims. Like Krissy though, Pat was a little surprised and a little disappointed at Ari's sudden departure from them. It seemed she wasn't overly thrilled about having Dan as her date. Although he hadn't gone to it, Pat had heard about the fiasco at the ball last year, involving the spiked chocolate. That might have had something to do with Ari's reaction... Krissy's question brought Pat out of his thoughts. Did he think she had done the right thing? Honestly, Pat thought that this could work, if Ari didn't hold last year against Dan. He had figured Krissy's thoughts of what she thought Ari felt, and he trusted her judgment. "Yeah, I think ya did do the right thing," he said, attempting to reassure her. "Just give 'em time, they'll work it out." In any case, now seemed like a good opportunity to do what Pat had been planning to do. "Anyways..." he started again, a big smile on his face, "Krissy, close your eyes. I've got something for ya." Oh yes, Pat was getting a little anxious about wanting to make sure Krissy got her present; he'd wanted to pay her back for the awesome present she had given him earlier that month. "And no peekin'..." he added, one hand in his pocket, keeping the tips of his fingers on Krissy's gift...
