It was like Matty had read Jynx's mind. He was all for going to get a drink for a couple of minutes and then coming back with one for Ray. "Ya, we will only be a couple of minutes or so." he said looking a the Ravenclaw. He wasn't about to ditch her or anything, he like Matty just thought that they could go and get drinks and come back. He didn't mind talking to other people during the ball, but part of him wanted to spend most of it with just Matty.

Matty smiled at the small Ravenclaw before creeping her hand down her side and feeling Jynx's. She looked back to Ray before saying "We'll be right bacK" and with that she smiled and lead Jynx off towards the drinks. Matty felt the warmth of his hand enhace and she looked to his and smiled at that thought. As they made their way over to the drinks, Matty thought about her last lesson in Astronomy, and thought about the baby pick that had swerld in the bottem of her vial. Maby he wanted to dance or something before they went back to Ray?

Krissy gave Ari another reassuring smile. "Yes you do like them" Krissy said to Ari with a smile. Krissy knew Ari would never admit to liking this particular guy but Krissy knew just by the way Ari acted towards him and spoke about him that she actually did like him. It was just like a best friends sence, they could tell that kinda thing about each other. Krissy thought it was cool that Ari's ear flickered. Krissy herself was excited about being able to move ehr table, and the fact that her ears moved to help her hear different things all around the hall. Her hearing was also not majorly sensative. It was qiute a good charm.
She knew Ari was worried about the date, Krissy was surprised Ari had let her set it up at all, no-one else would really trust her with this kinda of thing, most people would expect a practical joke or something. But Krissy could never do that to Ari, never ever. "It'll be fine" she said reassuringly to Ari once more. She decided to try and change the subject a little bit. "Your costume looks totally kick-ass" Krissy said to Ari with a big grin.

Lily had come extra early. She needed to in order to stake out prime shadows. Her costume was excellent to her, maybe not to others, but she had spent ages on it. She was a shadow child, something she had wrote about in a short story. She was dressed all in black. Entirely. Black tank top, black jeans, black belt, black socks, black shoes. Any exposed skin had first been covered by pale foundation. After that she had rubbed this special make-up she had obtained over all the exposed skin and through her hair. This made her sort of cameflouge, or at least able to blend in with the shadows. Finally she had added these fake contacts which would make her blue eyes even more exceptionally blue. If one had looked into the shadows, they probably could have seen the blue glint of her eyes and nothing else. However, Lily knew this might happen so she kept her eyes closed and just listened (Yes she had even thought to put make-up on her eyelids).
So, relying on on her ears, she thought she heard Krissy's voice. Waiting a moment more to be sure, she jumped out upon Krissy, seeming to come out of nowhere but the shadows. She had a fake knife and she held it to her throat. "Now I have to kill you," she whispered quietly. "You've seen me." She was glad it actually was Krissy as she stared at her with her vibrant eyes.

The sudden appearance of Lilly in front of her made Krissy jump slightly and squeak. She hadn't been expecting someone to jump out at her, but at least it was Lilly and not some crazy plot of the headmistresses for the ball. The knife to her neck made her wonder for a moment if it was real or fake, but she doubted Lilly would hold a real knife to her neck, and that Lilly would be able to bring a real knife into the dance. Krissy relaxed once more and laughted slightly. Lilly's costume looked extremely cool. Krissy wasn't sure exactly what she was but she still looked awesome.
She couldn't help but grin at Lilly's words and she just had to play along "Oh please, I begeth of you, I am a mere mouse, I know nothing save me instead from these cats" Krissy grinned. Realising suddenly it must look quite funny, a mouse standing and speaking to two cats. Make it a half eaten mouse at that, the scratches and the bite taken out of the ear, it looked as though Ari and Pat had attacked her. That was kinda cool.

Holding Matty's hand Jynx made his way towards the drinks. "So, after we get a drink do you want to dance or something." he asked looking over at her smiling and thinking that they might as well do something else why it was just the two of them. Jynx was sure that Ray wouldn't mind if they were gone just a bit longer. She may have even found some one else to talk to in the mean time.

"I spare no one," Lily said, dripping on the ice and the chill in her voice. "You have seen a shadow child. Now you must join us." She drew the knife across Krissy's throat slowly. "The shadow children must not be seen. Those that see us, must die." She held the knife in her hand, looking to see if anyone else would acknowledge her presence. She grinned for a moment. "I like your costume Krissy." She wasn't able to be so scary for so long. Her blue eyes examined every inch of her.

"Boooooo!" he said acting all scary. He came in as the one and only. The Grim Reaper. As he walked in he saw Anna in a pirate skelton costume. He grinned even though you couldn't see it. He walked up to her. "Ma'am, I shall take your soul as for you die tonight," he said in a deep voice. Althought, Anna should already know that was Tristan's voice. If not, what has come of her? Oh well, he just wanted to say that. He then looked over to the other people. He didn't notice much because he couldn't see very well.

OK, so he wasn't kidding, she could handle that. Perhaps handle it better when she could stop the occasional snicker from escaping her lips. Abi's reaction however had been far more bemusing than the fact that Ty even showed up. The girl seemed shocked, confused, and curious all at the same time, the raised eyebrow expression directed at her only made her raise on in return, each of them seeming to ask the same question: What?"I can see that...now...didn't expect it, but...erm..." Oh man, she was fine waiting, fine wondering when he'd show up, if he'd show up, if she should show up, but now...now that he was there, and she was there she was hesitent. Extremely hesitent, she figured it would happen but she expected it later, now now. Heck it was only the beginning. Her eyes scanned back across the Hall as others had filed and drifted by in ones and twos some costumes looking not scary at all, they stood out. And then there were others hidden behind masks and charms that if they stood still long enough looked like part of the decor. Still nervously biting the side of her lip, her eyes shot a brief glance of worry to Abi, in summary: She. Was. Scared. Ty who wasn't really bothered by the two girls reactions to his costume stared around to see if he knew an of the other students there. Not really seeing anyone else that he knew all that well he decided to see if they wanted to go into the actual Ball or not.He was getting quite hot in his chicken suit, not from the flames, but just from the sheer weight of the costume."So do you want to go into the Great Hall and get a drink?" Ty asked through a slit in the beak of his chicken suit, his butt still on fire.

Dean walked down to the Great Hall with a slightly amused look on his face. He recognized a few people here and there, but smirked at the little kiddies walking about in their costumes. He personally had chosen to go as the Phantom of the Opera, but had preferred to go with the most recent version of the Phantom. He wore a white mask, covering the top of his face but leaving the bottom exposed. Dean would have preferred to not go at all, but as Ash had said, what else did he have to do on that night anyway? The rest of his costume was simply black; black pants, shirt and cape. He didn't want to stand out too much right now. Glancing around to see if he knew anyone his age that he could talk to, Dean moved to one of the walls and leaned against it, crossing his arms as he did so out of boredom. He twiddled a blood red rose he had brought with him to the dance, although he was a little unsure why...

Pat turned his head toward Ari as she came by him and Krissy. It seemed that the Raven sixth year had also adopted a cat-like appearance, although her's looked quite different from his on some details. She seemed worried about something. Although he couldn't be certain from the exchange of words between the two girls, it seemed Krissy had set Ari up with a date, although the latter didn't seem to know who her date was. Pat half-smiled, half-smirked; this could either go wonderfully, or it could go terribly. Krissy seemed certain about her choice for Ari though. If this was just an act, they'd have to wait and see.
Before Pat could question the two of them himself, however, another joined their little group, although in a far different way. Pat was relieved that he'd recognized Lily the moment she had flung herself into the open, or there might have been a scene. Although, Lily's costume did look very convincing, even though Pat didn't know specifically what she was. He smiled after Krissy's comment that there was nothing to save her from "these cats". "Oh, nothing can save you from us, little mouse," he jested, grinning. "Unless... you squeak for mercy!" He snickered a little; she had let out a very convincing squeak when Lily had sprung at her. "You've got a nice one yourself, Lily," Pat added on, after her compliment to Krissy's costume.

Anna jumped around to find the grim reaper standing behind her. She wasn't that scared, ok maybe a little scared of the skeleton stood before her. Of course how could she not recognize Tristan's voice and she was happy to see him. Even with the mask, Anna knew Tristan when he came. "My soul? Sure, I'm dead anyway." she smiled.

Arianna stepped into the Great Hall and glanced nervously around. She didn't see anyone resembling what Krissy had told her to look for so she moved to the wall just right of the door and stood there, watching as she adjusted her costume. If anyone wanted to know where Arianna had gotten the inspiration for her costume, she would honestly have to say she didn't know. She had taken a full black body suit and slashed it across the belly, shortened one of the legs, and cut off one arm leaving just enough for a glove upon her left hand. Upon her shoulders and left leg she wore old pieces of armour, shrunk to fit. On her hands, small contraptions resembling Wolverine's claws. Ah, but someone would wonder what the heck she was supposed to be. To deter questions (well, most, anyway) she did a little Transfiguration and made her ears larger, furrier, and sitting higher upon her head than normal. As Krissy might call her: Psycho Kitty.((Ooc: shoot shoot shoot! Excuse over PM xP)) "OWWW...." The Seventh Year moaned to himself as he blinked his right eye for the millionth time and felt his eyes streaming. If he had known that make-up was going to be so difficult, he would have obviously not worn it. Having poked his eye out nearly twice before actually getting the eyeliner on twice, his eye felt a bit 'twitchy'. However, Daniel was in good spirits for his birthday was the day before and thought optimistically to himself, 'Well, the twitch sort of fits the ball theme.' With his 3 inch heels hitting the floor in a rather loud fashion because he walked with rather heavy heels, his deep blue eyes (one covered in peeked into the room. The blood on the sign was unnoticed by the seventh year for he had more important matters on mind. He bit his bottom lip slightly, his teeth instantly changing to a pink for he got the red lipstick he had 'borrowed' from the common room. Daniel. Well. He was hard-core when it came to this halloween costumes. Adorned around his neck was a skin-tight chained dog collar (or so he called it for he didn't know of its true name), over his right eye and part of his nose he had covered with a dark purple paint in the shape of a star, his face was painted white with a muggle face-paint (thankfully he didn't mess up the colours during the summer when he went to buy that) and his costume was outrageous from the bling down to the shoes. The shoes - sure he was nearly tripping over them with every few steps, but they fit the costume. Why was Daniel all dressed up? Why, for his date of course. As he searched the room, he thought to himself, insane kitty... insane kitty... and hot according to Krissy. He walked by Ari with a 'physco kitty' costume before he taunted, "Nice costume" and walked away. ((ooc:... ouch xP))

Matty blushed and turned to smile at Jynx. Sometimes it was just as if he vcould read her mind. "Sure i'd love to" she said beaming at him. As they both aprouched the drinks, Matty reached for a cup of grape juice, before sipping it and thinking what Jynx might have. As a drak grape juice fell into her mouth, she remembered Halloween as it used to be. When Matty and her friends used to go and get their costumes from a muggle shop.

Arianna snorted in reply to Daniel's 'complement.' She was certain he meant to say something more along the lines of, "Yeah, nice....Maybe you should get a mask for that face of yours, too." That thought, however, halted for a few seconds when she finally turned to see why the boy was wearing those awful high heeled shoes.
"Krissy? Is that...?" she turned to the Hufflepuff, eyes wide, not sure if she should be mad or not, nor whom to be mad at. Arianna knew Krissy wouldn't do this to her, though, she wouldn't throw Ari in with someone she didn't care for at all.
"I know it's not," Arianna muttered to herself, her eyes traveling back to the door. It was just a coincidence that Daniel was wearing the same costume her date was supposed to.
