She smiled politely but thought nothing of the gesture, it did seem like the right thing to do. Esmerelda tucked her long black hair behind her ear and looked to him, pausing. She glanced down at herself once again before looking back to Charon.
"The woman of your dreams.."
She replied with a sly smile. She gave a short laugh and shrugged lightly.
"I actually have no idea.."
Es confessed. She took a sip of the drink still in her hands and glanced him up and down.
"And may I ask who art thou?"
She asked him, staring at the descriptiveness of his skeleton mask.

Alexis finally entered the great hall dressed in full costume. At least this one didn't take as long to make. When it came to these kind of things, Alexis was rather impacient. Using her wand to turn her hair and eyes red, she also used it to give her small wings a multicolor effect. Putting on pointed ears and a red stone in the middle of her forehead, Alexis looked at herself in a mirror to make sure it looked alright. Well if she was going to pull off this fire fariy thing, it had to look good. In her opinion, she looked cute. Since she didn't see many people she knew, Alexis went to a table to get some punch. Taking the opertunity, she took a look around the great hall to see the rest of the decorations. It was cool and everything was rather erie, especially some of the costumes she saw. Alexis didn't have a date so she thought she would just find some people and talk for a while. Caden wandered over to the table of refreshments and picked himself up a glass of punch. He noticed an older girl examining the room a little father down the table. He strolled up to her and asked, “Hey. What are you supposed to be?” He guessed she might be trying to be a phoenix by the red color and wings. As he waited for her answer he took a sip of his drink and watched the others students.

Krissy grimaced as Dan made his comment and walked awak, not noticing Ari at all. She had really thought the two would be a good pairing, she knew Ari liked him, even if she wouldn't admit it to herself. She looked back to Ari at her question. She seemed kinda upset. Krissy didn't know what to say to Ari however. Yes Dan was the date she had organised for Ari and Ari the date she had organised for Dan, but they seemed to like the idea less than Krissy had hoped.
Krissy decided suddenly to ignor the question altogether, if Dan didn't come back and discover Ari soon she would go kick his butt into gear herself. Instead she gave Lilly a smile and said "Thanks, I really like your costume too" she hoped Ari would think Krissy just didn't hear her over the music.

(Sooorrry Abi :-\) Ty who wasn't really bothered by the two girls reactions to his costume stared around to see if he knew an of the other students there. Not really seeing anyone else that he knew all that well he decided to see if they wanted to go into the actual Ball or not.He was getting quite hot in his chicken suit, not from the flames, but just from the sheer weight of the costume."So do you want to go into the Great Hall and get a drink?" Ty asked through a slit in the beak of his chicken suit, his butt still on fire. While she didn't wish to leave Abi, especially seeing as Mark apparently by all regards had yet to show his face, or, whatever he was wearing or hiding, Lianna half smiled at her friend, a 'good luck' gesture she supposed before responding to the chicken-donned boy. "S-sure..." Lianna replied, feeling most stupid, not to mention downright foolish for talking to a chicken's beak. Curse her for picking this time to remember about maintaining eye contact when speaking. She could attribute that to nervousness, but still. How crazy did it look? This, spider-princess-witch-she didn't know what to call herself-thing, talking to a chicken? Honestly, it probably looked amusing...

"Great then lets go," he said gesturing to the Great Hall with his giant wings pointing in the direction of it. Feathers turned out every which way giving the illusion that he had been hit by a motor vehicle or caught in something.
He didn't really mind if Abigail wanted to join them, since it looked like she really wasn't with anyone yet. "Abigail can join us to if she wants." he said smiling towards Lianna. When he smiled his beak contorted into a type of painful looking smile.

If there wasn't a moment where people would stop all activity, there would be one now. The entrance was rather perfect, with a touch of class and the right amount of spook. As Beni came in, she was dressed in a baby blue doll dress, poofing out as at the empire waist, and decorated with ruffles and lace below. Her makeup was almost geisha-like, with the porcelain white skin and red lipstick, however one her white skin was a few splotches of blood and a bit of dirt. Connecting from her both sides of her mouth to chin was a thick brown line. Her hair was in a dark black 50s' flipout, however it was a bit disheveled. Her eyes seemed to pop out with the fake heavy eyelashes that she wore. Keeping her eyes wide open, she looked like what she was expected to look: like an innocent baby doll. Yes, the twist was twisted! She held a rubber knife in one hand, lightly spotted with red spots, as the assumption was blood. Even on her cute little baby doll dress was the visible spots of blood. She looked positively chilling, like a doll come to life. Even her movements were slightly robotic, as she said "Momma" every once in a while. Though there was a funnier side to this. Though she had a robotic life, and eerily quiet, she had a boombox on her shoulder, the power of it coming from the magical atmosphere. Coming out of the boombox was an eery song with its kicks and laughs. Taking a song from Gnarls-Barkley, she looped their song "The Boogie Monster". It had a Munsters feel to it, but it was fun all the same. But she wasn't going to just show up her date. Lowering the volume, she announced, "And now I present... Keagan!" She made a showy gesture to introduce her Gryffindor sister and smiled. What a way to enter the social scene. (sorry if the link doesn't work)

Matty blushed and turned to smile at Jynx. Sometimes it was just as if he vcould read her mind. "Sure i'd love to" she said beaming at him. As they both aprouched the drinks, Matty reached for a cup of grape juice, before sipping it and thinking what Jynx might have. As a drak grape juice fell into her mouth, she remembered Halloween as it used to be. When Matty and her friends used to go and get their costumes from a muggle shop. Jynx just beamed back at Matty when she said that she would love to dance with him. He was sure that this night was going to be one of the best. Walking over to where the drinks were located he watched as Matty got herself a grape juice and then decided that he would go for a nice cold cup of pumpkin juice. Taking the pumpkin juice from the table he raised the glass and took a sip of it. "So should we go see if we can find a table to set our drinks on and then we can go out on the dance floor?" he asked gesturing to the tables next to the dance floor.

Keagan's own entrance was more subtle, or would've been if she hadn't come accompanied by Beni. Dressed in the style of Morticia Addams, she wore a long, floor length black gown. It consisted primarily of black velvet, but between strips of the velvet cloth lay a more sheer cloth of midnight blue. The back of the gown was low cut, sweeping across the middle of Keag's back, just below her shoulder blades, while the front was cut high, pulled tight across the front of the sixth year's shoulders. Her hands were enveloped in the sleeves of the dress, which Keagan now clung to in a sudden burst of nervousness following Beni's announcement. It wasn't as if she were a debutante or something... Keag's hair, though kept the same length, was temporarily died black, contrasting against her pale skin brilliantly. Beni, who had done her hair, had assured her that the black would leave just as easily as it had arrived, as Keagan did have a special liking for her naturally blond locks. Also contrasting against her pale skin was the darkness of her makeup. The evident color of choice was, of course, black, and Keag's eyes shone from their black rims. The only problem with her entrance was the brilliant blush that had invaded her cheeks as she stepped through the door after Beni announced her. She wondered if anybody really cared, and gave Beni a mock glare as she walked up next to her. "Did you have to do that?" she muttered. ((I hope my explanation of the gown described enough how different Keag's costume is from her avatar and picture ))

"But of course, my friend! All my dates gets special attention," said Beni with a wink. She made her way to the side of the dancefloor, and set the boombox down on the floor by a wall. "I'm sure they've all had enough of my music for now." She turned off the music, and stood straight up again, her arms now at her sides and her eyes wide again. Pivoting her neck, she gave an eerie smile to Keagan and said in a high pitched voice, "Mama."

Dean turned his head slightly as he heard the sound of a different type of music enter the Great Hall. He discovered that it was coming from a boombox atop a girl's shoulders. He took a moment to look at her costume, figuring her to be a doll of some type... Well, Killer doll, now that he noted the knife held in her hand. He smirked slightly at this, a killer doll. Hadn't that been over done in movies and such? Oh, well. Dean was about to turn away and go find someone to torment when he heard the girl say something about Keag, who had just walked in. He turned back and his eyes lay on her. Wow. He thought to himself, stuffing his hands into his pockets. Not quite character fitting, but he didn't really care.

"Ay yi yi," Keagan replied, hugging her arms to herself, though she grinned in response to Beni's wink. She had wondered herself how long Beni was going to allow her music to play along with that in the Great Hall, and was glad that her friend had thought to set the boombox aside for now. However, the look the seventh year turned baby doll now gave her was bloodchilling; Keag had never been one for horror. She swallowed hard before averting her eyes and looking around the Hall. There seemed to be a lot of people paired off, but not much for activity aside from some chatter.

After her little turn, Beni frowned at the girl. "Keagan, Keagan..." She gently tried to get Keagan to stop hugging herself. "You are such a little hottie! Don't hide yourself." She looked around and grinned suddenly. "Look, I spotted a bloke giving you the eye. He looks shy..."

Go. Yes, it was a fickle and easy task to accomplish, merely walk over to the food table and pour one's self a glass of punch. Simple...simply simple, no effort at all. At chicken boy's (no offense) motion into the Hall, Lianna had to practicly force her feet to move. Oh yes, she was definitely scared. Abi being present had lightened the tension, but now, only four words echoed through her mind: Ty. Dance. Alone. Eep!
Having ducked slightly to avoid the feather ridden arm, the girl smiled and entered back intot he vastly dark room. If she was lucky she'd be able to slip off to the darkness and try and regain herself, but the fact that she hated the dark with a passion didn't really allow her much like it would others wearing dark colored costumes. Nodding at his statement abut Abigail she realized that he was the only one she knew who said the girl's full name. Peculiar.
"So, see any sign of this professor your making a mockery of?" She questioned quietly, her eyes glancing about at the older students. Merlin, she felt as bad (nervous) as she had the year prior.

Ty walked over to the enterance into the Great hall and looked around to see if there was any sign of Bloxam. "No, he probably doesn't even dare to show his face after the incident, the coward." he said with a smirk, laughing slightly. He didn't really care one way or the other. If Bloxam did show up there was really nothing he could do about Ty's outfit.
Ty then walked over to the table that held the drinks. Getting a couple of punches for him and the two girls he walked back over to where they were and handed one to each of them. "There you go," he said trying not to knock one of them with his feathers.
((Not sure if Abigail is with us or not, just wrote it like she was))

Okay, so maybe she was a little late, but it wasn't Vanessa's fault. It had taken forever for her to decide what she was going to wear. She had several different costumes picked out, and it had been a very difficult decision. She had finally decided to go with the bumblebee one. It was less skanky than the rest, and she didn't think it'd be a good idea to push the envelope on this one. So there she was, dressed up like a bumblebee, and trying to walk down the stairs. The skirt was definitely not cooperating, making the stairs a challenge by themselves. Walking on flat ground was fine, but the stairs...
They were a different story.
By the time Nessa reached the Great Hall, she saw that there was already a lot of people in there, talking and laughing and showing off their costumes. Vanessa looked into the room, and didn't see the person she was looking for. Dragos. Damn him! Nessa thought somewhat angrily. He had told her to meet him there, and he wasn't even there yet. Typical boy. Oh well, Nessa would stick it out for a while and wait for him. If he wasn't there in a few minutes, he'd just have to come find her later.
Taking a seat just inside the door, Nessa plunked down and crossed her legs, very carefully, and started to wiggle her foot impatiently. She wondered what he had cooked up as a costume. She hoped that he hadn't done something stupid and decided to go as a woman. Nessa might have to kill herself if she saw him come into the Great Hall with a wig on.
