A prefect’s badge. He had received a prefect’s badge. That had to be the craziest part of Connor’s summer thus far. He was completely unaware that he would even be considered for the job. Yes, Es and Dragos had graduated, but it was still weird to think of someone else taking over their jobs. Especially if that someone was him. As Connor made his way into a dinky little muggle café he couldn’t help but let all of these things run through his mind. It was weird to think about, him being a prefect and all. It wasn’t like Connor was a bad student, he got all satisfactory marks in schooling and was very proud of his house. He could just never see himself as a Prefect, at least before now. Connor had taken to carrying his prefect’s badge around in his pocket, whether he was just lounging around the house with his parents or wandering around all of London in his free time. His family had all been very proud of him, his sister Bella throwing a small impromptu party for him when she visited for a few weeks. It was nice of her and he had appreciated the gesture. And while he had liked the party, he preferred to not really acknowledge the badge and the title that came with it. As he stepped into the café, Connor made his way to the counter and ordered a cup of tea. Sitting down at a table, Connor pulled his lap top out of his bag and set it onto the table. While he was unable to use his lap top at school, his parents encouraged the use of muggle items in their household even though they were wizards. He plugged his ipod into the computer, and pulled his headphones out and put them on. He was oblivious to the world as he started mucking about on his lap top. He didn’t even notice someone entering the empty shop and walking towards where he was seated until they were standing right in front of him. Celina followed her mother threw the streets of muggle London, very closely, and unfortunately without Emerald. Why she had to go with her mother shopping in the muggle markets was beyond Celina.
“Celina, it’s not good for you to be cooped up in the house the entire summer,” Elizabeth looked at her daughter, a sad, crooked smile on her face. Celina turned away from her mother and said nothing, just kept close behind her. What comments Celina would have made if she were brave enough would have included something to the extent of missing the camping trip that they had set up with the Hjorts. Why her mother had to tell her father, Celina would never know, but she had and they were unable to make it. Feliks Jedynak had made sure something was planned for that weekend that the family had to attend. It figured.
Walking into the small café, Celina wasn’t even paying attention to where her mother was going. To her, it was another muggle market that Elizabeth found completely fascinating. Celina didn’t care, nor did she care about going to any more stores. Her arms were already filled with new school clothing for under her robes that she didn’t need….though she did like the new pair of black flip flops that her mother had gotten her. Always a fan of those, Celina hardly knew why.
Elizabeth walked to a table to sit down and just as Celina was about to do the same the, she dropped one of the bags conveniently. It didn’t spill, nor did anything break, it just let go and dropped standing up on the ground. Frustrated like, Celina bent over and picked it up, unaware of who’s table she now stood in front of.
“Celina, order anything you want from the menu, my dear,” her mother called out from the other side of a menu. She had obviously not seen Celina’s foolishness in dropping the bag. “Alright, ma’man,” Celina called back to her getting up with her bag, and looking unintentionally at the muggle…er…wizard that sat behind the….Celina stretched her brain for the item name that he was using, but couldn’t think of it. All the books in her brain were obviously leaking out along with her intelligence that summer.
“Connor?” she asked, a bewildered look on her face, along with an embarrassed smile. Well…he looked distracted, maybe now was the time to walk away. Celina nodded to herself…yea, might as well not do anything more foolish in front of one of her classmates. However, she still stood there, bags in arms, thinking about walking. Was that rude to just walk away? But he hadn’t seen her right? Ravens might have been smart, but it was obvious this was losing all common sense that day.

Connor turned his head as he glanced outside of the shop windows and took a sip from his steaming tea. It was a seemingly perfect temperature and Connor had to give his props to the small cafe. He had been to this place before but usually always got a coffee or cuppiccino rather than a plain tea. Usually the only time he visited the place much anymore was during the summer holidays. It was the only time of the year he had leisure time to visit the shop.
He had been visiting his grandparents in London and made his way over. Connor mulled everything over as he clicked away on his lap-top, editting pictures he had taken since break. There were some with his family, some of him getting off of the Hogwart's Express, even some he had taken of landscapes in Ireland while visiting his uncle. He liked editting pictures, but he kept having to remind himself that he wasn't able to make pictures move like they did at Hogwart's. It was a little puzzling, he had just recieved the lap-top some time ago from his uncle who was a muggle, and still struggled to understand sometimes that it was a strictly muggle device and couldn't do magical things.
Just as he started working on a new picture, changing the colors and such, over his music he heard the light ' ding ' of the door opening but paid it no heed. He didn't expect anyone of interest to be entering the shop, so he continued his work. Connor bobbed his head lightly to the beat of the song he was listening to, only stopping when he noticed it was Celina Jedynak standing in front of him. He was shocked, to say the least. The last he had heard the Jedynak family was pure-blood and proud of the fact. What would she be doing in a muggle shop?
He didn't have time to ask at that second as he tugged the headphones off and let them rest around his neck.
" Hey, Celina! What are you doing here? " His initial response came out a little more exagerated than he anticipated, and his question in a bit of a hushed voice, but he was overall glad to see Celina. He hadn't seen hide nor hair of anyone or anything from Hogwart's in a few weeks time and was interested in what everyone was up to.

Celina debated too late as she was about to quietly walk away, the Slytherin lifted his hazel eyes to where she stood. Bags in her hands still, she tried to hide them behind her as if she wasn’t doing anything inconspicuous or weird. The shock in his voice, though as hushed as it was, made Celina feel even more out of place than usual. As if he were showing the whole muggle world that she was different than he. It was a good thing that the café only held her mother, her, and Connor.
“Oh…, well….” Celina paused, her face flushing slightly. He seemed awfully excited and it had taken her a bit off guard. A dark lock of hair fell in Celina’s face slightly and as she flipped her head a bit to make the hair go to the side she smiled lightly and shrugged. “Shopping and eating…” her voice was soft and as delicate as always.
Looking back at where her mother sat, her hands were growing weary from holding all of the bags and she looked back at Connor. “I’ll be right back,” she quickly said taking her leave right after and then going to her mother and hers table. “Ma’ma,” Celina called out lightly as she reached the table. “Would you watch these for a few minutes?”
Elizabeth looked up from over her menu at the bags and nodded her head, raising an eye brow as she did so. “Do you know someone here, Celina?” Elizabeth asked. Celina lifted her shoulders into a shrug and nodded. “He’s from school, Ma’ma,” Elizabeth smiled warmly and nodded her head. “A friend of yours?” Elizabeth was so excited she could hardly control the proud look upon her face. Celina just blushed and said nothing more.
“Well, then, what are you waiting for? Go visit with your friend. I told you, this is your day, baby,” Elizabeth paused. “I want you to have fun.” Celina turned from her mother and went back to Connor’s table, her blush still glowing freely off her face and her dark eyes rolled inside their sockets.
“Sorry…had to put the bags down….” Celina lightly commented. “So, what are you doing here?” Celina asked genuinely interested, trying, not obviously to look at the….muggle toy’s…..colorful screen.

Connor tugged lightly at the headphones as he glanced over to the woman who had apparently come in with Celina. She looked like an older version of the girl, so he figured she must be her mother. He glanced back to his classmate as she shuffled awkwardly in front of him, holding the bags behind her back. It looked as if she was hiding them from something. Him? He guessed so, but he hadn't a clue why she would feel the need to hide shopping bags from him. He shrugged the thought off as Celina blushed slightly at his comment of ' what are you doing here? ' Connor felt himself grow slightly pink in the face now as he realized that the question could be percieved in several different ways, one of which would make him out to be rude. He didn't have time to apologize, however, when she excused herself to return to her mother. " Sure.. " He said with a slight smile as she turned away.
He felt himself cool in the face, his blush lessen slightly as she walked away. Connor didn't catch any of the two's conversation and took the opportunity to X out of his picture editting program, deciding that he would just about die if any of his classmates saw the latest pictures he had been messing with, which had been pictures of him when he was little. Some were okay, like pictures of him and his sister at the beach, but others, like him in a bubble bath with a rubber ducky, those could be kept secret.
Once Celina, returned, however, Connor launched in to his apology, " Ah, sorry about that. I only meant... " He trailed off slightly, quickly glancing about the cafe' and only spotting Celina, her mother, and himself. None of the shop employees seemed to be in the front, so he went on, " I just didn't expect to see you here. Or anyone, really. " He finished off, hoping that he wasn't making himself into a jerk of sorts. He really hadn't intended to be rude, but he was just shocked to see her in a muggle cafe' such as this. But then again, there was probably a lot of things about Celina Jedynak that he didn't know.
Once he was done with his apology, he then answered her question, " I'm... drinking tea. And mucking about on my computer. Do you.. have a lap top? " He asked her curiously. Even though he was used to being immersed in both the muggle and wizarding worlds, sometimes he couldn't get used to being secretive about his wizarding lifestyle. He was pretty sure that Celina wouldn't have one, but then again she might. He turned the screen towards her so she could look at it. The background was a collage of pictures from over the years, thankfully no embarassing ones were included. Small icons littered the screen, several for internet, music players, image editting programs. Connor was careful to watch Celina's reaction towards the thing.

Celina tilted her head and her brows furrowed slightly. What was Connor apologizing about? Celina didn’t know, but at the same time she shook her head and dismissed it. “But you did nothing wrong,” she said in a matter of fact tone. From Celina’s standpoint he had been excited to see her. Was he sorry that he was so excited? Celina smiled lightly, as she filtered her hand through her ebony hair. Her eyes drifting ever so slightly to watch her feet that were twisting just slightly, her black flip flops now the center of distraction.
“I wasn’t really expecting to be her myself,” Celina said, a somewhat frustrated sigh. “My mum wanted to come out to the muggle stores and do some shopping. Something about this being a day for me…” Celina shrugged, only seeing the day as only her mother’s way of trying to make up for the camping trip that Celina had missed out on with her friends. Lifting her head to gaze back at Connor. Celina smiled widely and an excited gleam danced in her eyes. “I’m just glad that I’ve seen someone I know, too.” At least now, Celina could feel as if she could relate to someone.
I'm... drinking tea. And mucking about on my computer. Do you.. have a lap top?
Computer? Celina had….no, maybe she hadn’t heard of them. She searched back into the depths of her mind, knowing that she probably had and yet still could not place her finger upon it. Finally she sighed, but when they went from computers to something about the top of her lap, she was highly confused. Celina’s eyes opened a little wider, her face lightly pinkened. “What about the top of my lap?” she said cautiously as if not to alarm the boy. Was he joking around with her.
Looking down, Celina checked out the top of her legs in which were covered by a dark colored pair of jeans. Celina pushed the hair that fell around her shoulder behind her ears and then, only moving her head up slightly, she looked back at Connor and smiled sheepishly. She didn’t see anything wrong with her lap top.
As Connor turned his computer toward her, she knew what that was cause he was playing on it and that was what he had called it just a few seconds before, the pictures in the back ground caught her eyes first. Her eyes lighting up, Celina bent over slightly to get a closer look, putting her hands on her ‘lap top’ and gazed excitedly at the pictures finding the ones that looked somewhat like Connor. “Aww, is that you?” she said. “You were such a cute kid….” She said without thinking, looking at one of the younger pictures of him. Giggling she looked back at Connor and blushed slightly, just realizing what she had said. Oh, Merlin…
She looked back to the computer and cocked her head slightly, still smiling, but now wondering what was odd about the pictures. It was then she realized what was wrong with them. “Connor…why aren’t they moving?” she asked him. Celina had heard of muggle pictures not moving, but she’d never actually seen….or maybe she had at Felicity’s house when she went there for New Year’s…..oh, she couldn’t remember.

Connor felt the need to stand up to be on the same level with the girl, but instead decided to offere Celina a seat. " Would you.. like to sit? " He asked her, motioning to the chair seated across from him. He figured if they were going to talk and such she might as well have a cup of tea with him. ' But you did nothing wrong, ' Connor shrugged his shoulders slightly at her comment, thinking that maybe he had over analyzed the whole matter of him sounding rude. " Ah, nevermind. " He said to her.
" Do you come here often? " He asked her curiously, wondering if Celina shopped in the area a lot. Being that half of his family consisted of muggles such as his uncle, Connor was used to being around muggles sometimes. It didn't really bug him as much as it did some of his Slytherin housemates, but he didn't mind it so much. He was used to being in muggle shops, they really weren't all that different from wizarding shops. Only that Connor had to be a little more careful about what he said. He always watched his tounge, careful to not let anything about Hogwart's slip into the conversation. He imagined that he would recieve quite a few nasty looks from some people if he even mentioned his school's name.
A light smile came onto his face as Celina mentioned that she was glad to run into someone from school as well. It had been quite a few weeks since he had come across anyone from school, and as he didn't have many good friends, he hadn't made any plans for summer time.
' What about the top of my lap? ' Connor felt a blush return to his face at this comment of hers. He supressed a chuckle and answered, " Nothing about your.. lap top, I meant the computer.. It's called a lap top. " He tried to explain, feeling bad for not mentioning it before he had asked her about it. Connor took from all her questions that she did not, in fact, own a lap top. Or computer for that matter. He smiled a bit as she looked down at the lap top screen as he intended, she seemed to realize that the computer was a lap top. Not her lap top.. He chuckled at her comment and nodded his head, " Yeah, that's me. What happened, right? " He said jokingly to her with a light shake of his head.
As for her question about the pictures he turned his head, looking at them as though he had forgotten that they should be moving. At least from Celina, and half of the wizarding world's point of view. " They're.. not our kind of pictures. They're not really supposed to move. " He answered, meaning they were of the muggle variety and that they shouldn't be moving at all.

Celina continued to stare at all of the pictures, examining every one carefully. Her small smile became a bit bigger as she did so. “No, I don’t come here often. My mum wanted to do something…..well, special I guess,” Celina hesitated not really knowing why her mother had wanted to come into the shop. Muggles were apart of life to Celina’s mother and she felt as a Healer they too should be known, as well as their healing techniques. It was this reason that much to her father’s dismay, Elizabeth was always out getting to know them. She rarely ever took Celina, feeling that that would be much too dangerous for the both of them; especially, dangerous however, if Feliks, Celina’s father found out.
“Oh,” Celina said a bit in awe, and feeling rather dumb when Connor told her that the computer was called a lap top. Her hand went in front of her face and she bashfully laughed at herself. How stupid. It was obviously a lap top, it was small and neat…probably could fit on top of a lap. Celina just couldn’t believe she hadn’t made the connection between the two before opening her mouth. “No, the most muggle items I have are books…or rather, am allowed to have. Probably wouldn’t work at my home any ways.” Celina sighed, her words a bit muffled as they came through the hand that was still upon her face. Sometimes, she felt so useless and unintelligent.
However, her smile didn’t fade. There had been no time for it to do so as Connor commented back about what had happened since the time when he was young and cute to the older Connor she knew and…Celina peaked through her fingers at the Slytherin now examining him and what she saw.
He was different. Connor had piercings in his ears, and one in his lip. Brown hair that fell along his forehead, somewhat covering his dynamic eyes that seemed to have all sorts of colors in them, nicely fitting into Connor’s slender face. He was definitely different from the scrawny kid from the photos. A bit more built, but that was usual for someone in their grade coming through puberty and finally fitting into the shoes they wore. That of course was an expression. Celina knew guys with bigger feet than bodies, and then there were they guys who seemed they would never grow into their feet. Drew’s were that way, and Celina had had the hardest time dancing with him in the room of requirement because of that reason.
Standing back up from her leaning over position, she pushed her long hair behind her shoulders and shrugged. “What do you mean?” she asked of him as he laughed at himself, she too, started to giggle a little. “I mean, guys aren’t supposed to look cute when they get older. My mum says their supposed to look charming,” Celina hesitated before going on, her face that had finally just had gotten over it’s pink from before started to turn a shade of scarlet this time. “…or handsome,” she finished, saying it barely audible.
Taking the seat Connor had offered, Celina tried to hide her face her comment possibly being or sounding it to be more than what she wanted it to. She laughed and shrugged, sighing slightly as she finished. “My mum was so happy that I saw someone here I knew….she practically told me not to sit with her any ways.” Celina looked back at Connor, and tried to look as smug as she possibly could, (which really it looked as if Celina was trying to make her self look as she had a huge under bite). “I suppose I could sit with you,” she finished, slightly snickering as she tried to hold her face straight and roll her eyes at the same time. It didn’t really work, and Celina busted out into soft laughter. She really wasn’t good at trying to act tough, or as if she wasn’t excited to finally see someone from home Hogwarts.

Connor nodded his head slightly as she answered his question about visiting the place often, he busied himself slightly by watching Celina's reaction as she continued to look at the pictures. She seemed to like them, and even though there were a few that he wouldn't have picked out to show to people, he didn't really mind too much. " That was nice of her.. Get any good purchases? " He asked curiously, glancing over to Celina's mother where she had just deposited the bags only minutes ago. Usually when Connor went shopping with his mother or sister two things ended up happening- he would have sore feet from walking around shops all day, and he would end up carrying all of their bags. He didn’t complain, shopping usually meant going out for lunch and perhaps seeing a movie, so he didn’t mind too much. Plus he liked to spend time with his sister and mother, they were two of his favorite people. Unless, of course, they were annoying him to pieces which happened every once in a while.
He merely smiled as Celina covered her face after he told her about the lap top. She seemed a little embarrassed, and he could understand why. As she went on to talk about muggle items she owned her speech was a little muffled by her hand, but Connor understood what she was saying. “ Well, books are good and all, “ he said with an enthusiastic nod, forgetting that Celina probably couldn’t see him. “ But they really do have a lot to offer. “ He finished, thinking of things he used a lot that were from muggles. Mostly technology things, not a lot of things such as that existed in the wizarding world. He composed a short list, television, ipod, lap top, all muggle things that he used quite often. It was strange to think about only using all of his muggle-like items in the summer time.
Connor could feel her eyes on him as he mentioned about ‘ what happened ‘ from him being cute and little to.. whatever he was now. This caused him to break out into a slightly embarrassed smile, but he let her look all the same. He wondered what she saw, not him physically but him as a person. It was strange to think about.
He shrugged at her question of ‘ what do you mean ‘ and let her continue on. He suppressed a chuckle as Celina told him what her mom said about how guys weren’t supposed to look cute as they got older. He barely caught what she added in, but then made it out to be something along the lines of ‘ handsome. ‘ “ Charming? Handsome, right? I’d like to think of myself as dashing, don’t you think? “ He told her in a joking tone. He was playing it up, really, but it was all in good fun. In reality Connor didn’t think too much of himself, just an ordinary sixteen year old. The only part of his physic that he truly liked were his eyes.
Connor jokingly rolled his eyes at Celina’s new found act of being smug. “ Yes, thank you for gracing me with your presence, Your Highness. “ He told her with a semi-convincing nod. He then offered seriously, “ Want a cup of tea or something? This place is pretty good about drinks. “

Celina nodded. “I bought some clothes and stuff. A new pair of black flip flops….my favorite item I suppose.” Through her giggles she only just managed to continue the conversation they were having. Between Connor asking if she thought he was dashing, and then calling her that of a queen of all things, she couldn’t stop her laughing and giggling. Leaning back in her chair, she covered her face again with her hand, trying to hide her embarrassment and her colored face from the boy. She shook her head, but only because of the joking and the laughing.
Bringing herself to at least stop a little bit, she looked over her hand, resting her face on top of it slightly, again looking Connor over and smiling. “Dashing?” Celina questioned sweetly as she looked around the café, her eyes telling her mother to stop watching the two of them interact, before moving them to look back at Connor. “It’s a fitting adjective, indeed, ” she finally concluded to herself and out loud, giving Connor a reassuring nod and a small smirk. And it was from what Celina could see; then again what did she know about guys in general. Her interactions in the past with Connor had been here and there, touch and go, and more of acquaintances than anything else….she was probably not the best of all to judge who he was.
“But, yes,” she started to try and joke again. “Thank you, kind sir…for I have traveled long and hard, and my presence would grace anyone’s table. You are lucky, for I have chosen you this day.” Celina giggled, sat up straight, and wiped out non-existant wrinkles in her pastel blue tank top that she was wearing. “What kind of drink would you suggest a weary, royal,” (she said while rolling her eyes, “…woman like myself indulge in?” By this time she couldn’t help but snicker, fall from her straight posture again and shake her head at herself.
“My brother told me once, that my mother once thought that she was the Queen of England,” Celina told Connor giggling. Now there was a story she was never supposed to repeat. But whom was Connor going to tell? Seriously.

Connor tilted his head as he listened to Celina talk about her purchases. It sounded like she had a nice afternoon shopping with her mother. He nodded his head and then decided to keep quiet as she peered at him around her hand. Her laughter was contagious and he could help but chuckle himself. He noticed that Celina had an interesting way about her, from her giggling to how she was covering her face due to what he could only assume was embarrassment.
‘ Dashing? ‘ Connor smiled at her in a smug sort of way even as she turned and glanced around the shop before resting her eyes back on him. “ A fitting adjective? Thanks, it means a lot coming from you and all. “ He said to her with his light smirk, making an attempt at keeping the conversation light and the joking banter between them joking. He tried not to take her sort of compliment for more than it was, but it did make him wonder a little. He shook these thought off figuratively.
It was easy to keep the banter going between them as Celina went on, continuing her role as a snobbish queen. He grinned slightly at her, finding it humorous at that point. Being as he didn’t know royalty, he supposed this was close enough. “ Well, I am certainly glad you chose this table, and me, of all people, to sit with. Really. “ He said with a laugh. Where did this stuff come from? He had no idea, but they seemed to be able to pretend to pull it off quite well. Or well enough, depending on your opinion. “ I might recommend to you a cup of coffee, tea, they have anything you can think of. “ As far as tea and coffee beverages went anyway. “ They also have some pastries if you’d be interested. “ He added, remembering about the delicious cookies and cakes the place offered.
As for her next comment, Connor couldn’t help the laugh that escaped him next as he glanced over to where Celina’s mother now sat. He wasn’t sure if she meant figuratively like she ruled the world ( or a family ) or literally that she really thought she was the Queen. He didn’t ask, only shook his head from laughing before calming down a bit." That's great.. " He leaned back in his chair and suddenly remembered his prefect’s badge. He really couldn’t wait to tell someone from school so he blurted out, “ Hey, guess what! “ He wondered if Celina would get to be a prefect as well.

Celina giggled and continued to laugh glad that she could finally be relaxed and just happy. In a week or so, she’d be back with her brother. Celina knew that would be a better arrangement for her, and she knew that Alfonz needed her at that time more than her parents did any how. How did she know that Alfonz needed her? Celina could just feel it; or maybe it was her longing for her brother that made her feel as if he was the one needing her. Either way, until that had happened, Celina was stuck with her parents. So, spending the afternoon with another was always a comfort to Celina Jedynak.
“Hmmm…I am fond of lemon tea,” Celina said, remembering the tea that her brother could make so well. A wrenching pang of longing hit her again. Maybe it was she that needed him, but Celina said not a word about it. This was a happy time and the smile on her face would tell anyone that.
As Connor laughed with her about her mother’s incident, and finally commented that it was great, Celina was going to tell him the story. Alfonz had mentioned it to her weeks back when he had left the school for a weekend to help his mother with something at the hospital. Or something like that. Either way, Celina knew that Elizabeth was hit with some sort of spell, which confused her into thinking that she was Queen Elizabeth of England. But before Celina could even get the beginnings of her story out, Connor exclaimed excitedly for Celina to guess something.
Startled a little, Celina jumped and laughed as she did so. “What?” she said back, a little louder than her normal tone of voice, but only because she was unsure of what to make of Connor’s sudden excitement. What had all of a sudden caused him to be so….excited?

Connor smiled in response to the girl's giggle. It was cute, such a girlish giggle, not one he would've really expected to come from Celina.
" Lemon tea it is, then, " He said with a confirming nod and he looked to the front, saw an employee and beckoned them over. The waitress looked a little older than them, and clearly bored of her job. She did, however, recognize Connor and asked him, ' What can I get for ya? Connor nodded his head in Celina's direction and said, " She'll take a lemon tea, and I'll just get a refill on my tea as well. Thanks Reg, " The girl nodded her head in response and went off to fetch their teas. She was a nice lass, and Connor had known her for a short time due to him coming to this same coffee shop often during summer time.
Connor felt a little bad about interupting her when she was talking about her mother thinking she was the queen of England, and he made a note to ask her about it once he was done telling her the good news. Connor rested his arm on the table and leaned towards Celina slightly before saying in a semi-hushed voice, " I made prefect! Me! " It was clear that he was proud of himself by the dumb grin that appeared on his face just then. " It's wierd, I never would have even thought of myself as prefect material. " He said, leaning back in his chair with a smile.
Just then Reg returned with a lemon tea for Celina and a refill on Connor's tea. ' Here ya are, ' She said, setting the cups down on the table in front of the two of them. As the older girl walked away to the other customers, making her rounds, Connor smiled at her before returning his attention to Celina.

As the waitress neared, and Connor ordered their drinks Celina grinned pleasantly, not saying anything to the waitress. Her shy demeanor taking over as it usually did with new people, especially if it seemed that she was the only one whom didn’t know or wasn’t known amongst the group. Celina just went back to looking from her mother, who of course was still peering curiously at Celina and Connor with the most suspicious of all grins in Celina’s opinion, and then back to Connor when the waitress had left their side.
He leaned in, and instinctively Celina did the same. Was it a secret that he had to tell? Celina’s smile widened, loving secrets like any other girl seemed to. However, as Connor said to her what he did, it took a minute or so before Celina could react. Connor had gotten…what?
“Prefect?” Celina questioned silently, a bit taken aback, forcing a huge smile on her face but then turning her face as if to think to herself. The waitress returned, which Celina found fortunate. She didn’t want the disappointment to be seen by Connor, for Ceina felt the Slytherin wouldn’t understand.
They had already been distributed? Wasn’t it early? If that’s the case than she…Celina tried not to panic, for this was a happy time. She was spending time with a guy that she liked from her classes, someone obviously deserving of the Prefectship of his house, and having the best of times. She should have been happy…at least for Connor’s sake. Turning her face forward and looking at Connor again, a genuinely pleasant smile was placed upon her face. Less forced, Celina tried not to dwell on the honor she had yet to receive. That was it. Her’s had just gotten lost in the mail. “That’s great, Connor! You deserve it so much!” Ceilna would have hugged the boy if he they were standing up, but since the were sitting she couldn’t. “I’m so happy for you. When did you get it in the mail?” she asked, trying not to be too worried about her own.

Connor took a sip of his hot tea, enjoying it very much, it was even better than his first cup. He kept his hand wrapped around the warm cup as he set it back down on the table and looked back up to Celina. It was clear she was happy for him, but it also seemed that she hadn't gotten a letter from the Headmistress declaring her a Prefect for Ravenclaw House. He had a feeling that she would have told him if she had recieved a badge. Connor was torn between saying something and just going with what she was saying. He decided on the second choice for now and said, " Thanks. I was really suprised, it's wierd. My sister threw a party for me, it was good fun. " He said with a smile and a light nod.
Answering her question he shrugged and said, " Oh, I dunno. Four or five days ago, maybe? ... So did you get one? 'Cause if you didn't, that's just bollocks. " He told her with an enthusiastic nod of his head. Celina was the most studious person he knew, plus her brother was staff at Hogwart's. Why wouldn't she get prefect? It didn't make sense to him. If she didn't get one as he suspected, then he knew he would feel a little bad for bringing it up and being so happy about recieving one himself. But then again, how could he have known?
( ah, short post. my bad. )
