The whole common room was alive with activity, save for one. While the other boys got ready for classes, Drew stayed in his bed, curtains drawn and covers over his head . It would take an act of God to get him to come out.

... or worse...
"DREW!" Allegra shouted up the boys steps. She had seen almost every other Ravenboy head down to breakfast, but had yet to see the one who had 'borrowed' her Defence books without returning them. She weighed her options, taking into account the 'rules' her brother had posted on the dorm door. If he was in there, the booby traps should be off. If he wasn't, she would have to find another book to use or catch up to him before her class. With a sigh, she climbed the steps.
"Drew?" she called out, knocking on the door and peeking into the room when it swung open on it's hinges. The room appeared to be empty except for the rather large foot hanging out of Drew's bed curtains. Taking the dare, she stepped in the room, paused after a few steps to make sure nothing was going to splatter her, and then continued to his bed.
"Drew... Get up! You're going to be late for class," she scolded. "I need my Defence book too."

"..'Son the dresser," Drew grumbled into his pillow. Normally, he would have been impossible to wake up, but aside from having a stomach that doubled as an alarm clock, he hadn't done much sleeping the previous night. Good thing too, since his alarm clock stomach seemed to be on the fritz. He had no interest in breakfast and had skipped his two AM feeding for the first time in years.

Allegra found her book among the junk her brother had accumulated (how he had so much crap lying around after being at school for just a week, she wasn't sure) before turning back to his still drawn curtains and frowning.
"You're going to miss breakfast," she told him softly, pulling the drapes open just a bit to peek in at him.

"Not hungry," Drew answered, face still planted in his pillow and head still hidden by the blankets. The fact that those two words had left his mouth would be a tip off for anyone. Something was seriously wrong.

The curtains were pushed back all the way now, not that her brother would notice, burried as he was in the blankets. She frowned at his latest grumbling and snaked one hand under the covers to feel his forehead. It was kind of clammy, but wasn't unusually warm.
"You feeling okay?" she asked, deciding to forego breakfast and perching on the edge of her brother's bed instead.

"Mokay..." Drew answered back, feeling his sister take a seat and make herself comfortable on his bed. Just like with Ari the previous day, he felt a little better just having her nearby. "I think I just need to sleep it off is all."
What sleep would do for him, he didn't know. He'd wake up and nothing would change but it would be one more day putting off classes.

She had a pretty good idea what was bothering him. He had been getting moodier and moodier as the first day of classes drew closer.. and the absence of his girlfriend had become more noticable.
"So, you're just going to sleep all day?" she asked softly. "What happens tomorrow?... And what's Alhana going to say when she finds out you skipped classes?"

He flinched at the mention of his girlfriend's name, but made no other sign that it bothered him. "How is she even going to know?" he grumbled, letting a sniff escape him, that blasted cold of his acting up again.

"What happened, Drew?" she asked softly. She knew enough of the story to piece together what was bothering him, but still needed the details if she was going to get him out of this funk. "You guys were writing all summer. Everything seemed fine."

Without a word, Drew pulled her latest letter out from under his pillow. It was wrinkled and slightly damp but still legible. This he handed to his sister, not bothering to lift his head to look at her.
"She's not coming back," he finally said, basically telling her what was in the letter. "She's staying in Hungary. Her dad won't let her come back. Says it's too dangerous."

Allegra frowned and bit her lip as she read over the letter (ignoring the more mushy bits in order to save her brother any embarassment). "But you guys didn't really break up, did you?" she asked, reading it over again, just in case she missed that part. "What are you going to do about it?" She knew her brother and found it odd that his solution to the problem was to stay in bed all day.

"I can't do ANYTHING! She won't let me!" he burst out, finally sitting up, grabbing the letter back, and pointing out the spot where she explicitly told him not to come to Hungary, she would figure it out in time. He dropped his head into his hands and gave another loud sniff. "I can't do anything..."

Allegra jumped slightly at the outburst, but knew it wasn't meant for her. It was his frustration over the situation. With a sigh, she put a hand on his head, letting it just rest there silently, feeling the tension traveling up from his neck.

He tried to take a deep breath, but it got stuck half-way, stuttering up his chest as he sat there with his sister, fiddling with the bed spread.
"I thought of going anyway..." he admitted. He had actually had his bag mostly packed before stopping himself. "I almost just left... but then figured everyone would just get pissed off at me. Alhana, Mom, Dad, you, Ari, Raynor, Alhana's dad... If I went, I'd just make it all worse, right?" he asked, looking up at her through red eyes, hoping for some sort of confirmation that he did the right thing.
