"You're also mighty talkative for three in the morning," Drew told her and his stomach gave a growl in agreement. He had talked through his nightly snack and reached for his stash in the end table by the sofa. "You hungry?" he asked, offering her a brownie.

Lily nodded and took the brownie. She took a bite with a smile. When she had finished that bite she asked, "You always keep this much food down here? Is that normal? No one will have messed with your food and laced it with anything right? I wouldn't put it past some people, but you know the midnight snack is just sacred." She took another bite. "I'm always talkative," she confirmed his findings.

"I switch it up every so often," Drew told her. He actually had a number of stashes hidden all around the common room and boys dorm. The most secret ones, of course, were the safest but he figured Lily could be trusted with the one in the endtable.
"Besides," he continued. "If anyone messes with my stash, they can't use it either, can they?"

"Yeah," Lily said. "But I think the purpose of messing around with it is not for the eating. Besides, who else eats your midnight snack?" She was quiet for a bit eating a brownie. "You still carry around two apples all the time?" She asked him. She had finished up her brownie and was now licking her fingers.

Drew nodded in answer to her question about the apples. "One for eating and one for back up, just in case I can't get back to the kitchens," he told her. "As for the snacks... I guess anyone who gets hungry, right?"

"Yeah," Lily said. "But does everyone know about them? I mean, how many people just randomly ask you if you keep food in the common room? It sounds like a question so many people ask." She rolled her eyes, but she smiled to let him know she was teasing. "This food is a lifesaver." Lily said, knowing he would know what she meant.

"Enough people know about it I figure," Drew answered, taking a brownie for himself. While most of the hiding places were secret, it was no secret that he kept food in the common room. Heck... it had been Raynor's idea a few years back when she had gotten tired of finding him in the kitchens in the wee hours of the morning.

Lily nodded. "It took me a while to figure out but I did eventually." Lily said. "Sometimes if it's really quiet in the dorm I hear you come down. But that only happens if no one is snoring, even then though the breathing can be pretty have." She shrugged. "I dunno, I never much liked sleeping in a room with a bunch of other people, I always preferred sleeping alone in the quiet, but sometimes the quiet's too much. Do you know what I just realized?" She asked quietly.

"What?" Drew asked, not sure what else he could do or say to fill up enough lines so as not to get dinged by admin for having such a short post.

"I don't," Lily was quiet for a bit, she didn't know how to say this without hurting herself to much. "It just suddenly hit me when I thought about having a room to myself that I don't really have a room anymore. Or a home for that matter. It feels so bizarre and so helpless." She looked into the fire with a frown.

"Well... Drew started, knowing that what he was going to suggest wasn't really the same as having a home of your own, but still, might be of some comfort. "Well, you always have here, right? We've got a good home here. And when you come to my house, you'll have your own room there too... any time you want it or need it. It'll be there for you."

"Really Drew?" Lily asked. "I'll have my own room again for whenever I need it? Like my very own room I can take and make my own? Even make it messy? Or paint it? Or stick up posters? Or anything at all?" She asked him, trying her best to wait patiently for an answer.

"Sure," Drew agreed, knowing his parents had been okay with Ari painting the room when she lived with them. "Except for the messy part though... my mom's kind of anal about junk on the floor."

Lily laughed. "So was my mum," she said. "She was always telling me to clean up my room or else. Luckily she never did the or else part, cause it was never much clean. But heck Drew, if I can have a place that I can call home and room that I can call my own, then for sure I'll keep it as neat as a pin. Though I never really understood that because you know a pin doesn't have bed or dressers or a desk or even me in it."

"Alright then," Drew told her, laughing a little at how chatty she had gotten. He finished off his brownie and wiped his hands off on his pajama pants. "I don't think you have to keep it neat as a pin though. Just keep the junk off the floor."
